Check for mandatory fields while creating EP users using code .. :|

Hello All,
I have a code using which I can create user accounts/EP users on Portal, am working on EP6 SP9 & SP12.
My query:
1. From Portal's perspective -> While creating EP users, there are few mandatory fields like user-id, FirstName, LastName, Email-id and Password. If any of the above fields is null/empty, Portal would give us an error message.
2. From coding perspective -> Here, only the user-id is required. Even if I do not enter/fill any of the above mentioned mandatory fields (except user-id), user account is created.
In case wherein FirstName/LastName is not mentioned, Portal shows the userid in the Welcome Frame, i.e. Welcome <user-id>. Tried this by commenting the statements contains the methods related to setting/accepting FirstNme and LastName of user.
I want to know if this is all rite?
If no, then please guide me as to how can I set mandatory fields in my code.

In ur jsp file or in the controls code add the following attribute
<hbj:label id="userIdLabel"
 text="User ID"
 labelFor="userIdInput"

 required="true"/>
and to check the mandatory entry for that field do this in the submit button
<hbj:button id="insert"
 text="Submit"
 design="emphasized"
 onClick="save"
 onClientClick="if(!isMandatory()) htmlbevent.cancelSubmit=true;;"/>
and in the javascript write the client validation code.

Hi Nidhi.
In Standard you can make UDF mandatory while Creating it by Checking Mandatory Option in UDF Window.
If you want to make Standard Field Mandatory then you have to use SP Transaction Notification to make that field Mandatory.

because i wanted that field to be a mandatory field.When i handled that task ,i was able to complete that task
without selecting that mandatory field.But, I was expecting not to allow me to complete the task without selecting that field. Kindly tell me how to set the choice field as mandatory.

This is by design that
Workflow-generated form (for action Collect data from User) does not perform validation properly on drop-down choices, the workaround is to use JavaScript to perform the field validation.

Where to Authorization check for the plant while creating outbound delivery

Hi Experts,
For outbound delivery , the standard program is not doing the authorization check .
Can i use BADI *LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC * and the method : DELIVERY_FINAL_CHECK
To write Authority-check statement ,
If the particular is not authorized for any of the plants of the items in the outbound delivery i will throw a error message
Can i use as above?
And if i use it has to apply only for outbound delivery?Because for inbound delivery also the same BADI is getting triggered?

Hi,
Yes you can use the said BAdi and the method if it is triggerd before the SAVE of the Outbound Delivery Order to do the Authorisation Check. In case the code is triggered for all the orders and you want only to restrict for the Outbound Delivery, then check for the Delivery Type (LFART) from the Delivery Header table for only the Outbound Delivery Order.

AIX 5.2 : how to pass password value while creating a user on AIX server

Test connection is successful with AIX server , I can successfully create a user on AIX server, with defualt password.
I am not passing the any password value still some default value is being populated for the user...
In AIX while creating the user , use get force to set the password...
But while configuring the schema for AIX adapter ...if password attribute is given then it will give the error
as invalid attribute...while creating a user if password value pass...
how to set the password for the user..what attribute need to set for the password .

The default password might be the IdM account password of the user you are trying to provision. You don;t need to keep password in the resource schema. Just set password.password and password.confirmPassword and select AIX resource for password reset. Check the workflow-form-views document for more information on password view.

User Created in OIM 11.1.1.5 with null value for mandatory field.

We had updated one UDF as mandatory field on OIM user form. We can see the * in front of that field. Now if we create the user using web console (Using UI), we are not able to create the user without giving some value in that UDF as it is mandatory. However if we created the user with UDF value as null using Trusted recon, User sucessfully created in OIM. I had attached the screen shot for that user which create in OIM with UDF value as null.
Is any thing else also need to do to make UDF as mandatory field.

I am not sure this is a bug. Such mandatory checks will often only apply to administrative changes from the GUI. You may not always be able to enforce the same quality of data in reconciled data as you wish to impose for changes made through OIM, and it may prove an issue in some cases if such users could not be reconciled. In this case the use will go into OIM, but you will be forced to populate a value in the mandatory field if you later try to update them in OIM.

How can I enforce automatic spell checking for selected fields of data entered by form users?

I'd like to be able to enforce spell checking of selected fields in the forms that I've created using LiveCycle Designer 8.2 at run time, as opposed to design time. I understand the version LCD 8 has a nifty new spell checker for form designers. But I want to spell check the data entered by users using Acrobat Reader. And I want to enforce the spell checking automatically on selected fields only.
Presently it seems that users filling in my forms, must know how to manually right-click on each field and select "Spell Check" from the resulting dialog box in order to check for spelling errors in the data the user has entered in the form.
I would like to discover a way to enforce spell checking in selected fields, just as I am able to do in forms created using Acrobat Pro. In Acrobat Pro, I can set a property for each field to require spell checking. but that feature seems to be missing in Livecycle Designer.
I've check the Object model for XFA forms hoping that I might find a method I can call with a Javascript, to check spelling based on an event such as onBlur. But I haven't found a spell check method.
Am I missing something simple? Is there a way to set each field to be spell checked when a user is filling in the form using the free Acrobat Reader?
Our users are not sophisticated and requiring them to spell check each field separately just won't cut it...
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Hi David,
Two things...
At design time set the locale of the form to one that Acrobat spell checks. For example English (US) and English (UK) locales have spell checkers; however English (Ireland) does not. Check the Warnings tab to see if spell checking is supported for your locale.
If your form locale supports spell checking then you can go to the button script below.
If you form locale does NOT support spell checking then Stephanie has a great work around to force spell checking (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2233945#2233945).
Bring a regular button onto the form and in the click event have the following:
app.execMenuItem("Spelling:Check Spelling");
Which will open the spell checker for all fields. Thanks to Paul for extracting all of the accessible menu items (http://forums.adobe.com/message/1912914#1912914).

VKP0 is not to be maintained as mandatory condition while creating IDOC

We have a very awkward need from our client.The bussiness doesnt want the condition type VKP0 to be mandatory condition while creating IDOC for article master data.
In the bussiness terms they send some articles to POS without creating price.They dont want to have the value of KONWERT field as 'ZERO'..
We have upgraded ECC 5.0(IS Retail) to ECC 6.0(IS Retail).It was techinical upgrade hence no functional configuration has been done.
Moreover we have compared POS outbound profile in ECC 6.0 with ECC 5.0.Every configuration is same and all required prerequisites for POS Outbound profile are same in both the versions.The Idoc in ECC 5.0 is getting created even though the price of the artilce is not required to be mainatained.
All of us know that if prices are not maintained system shows'X' mark in price field in T.Code WPER2.
But,instead the IDOC is getting created in ECC 5.0.
Please help us to make the IDOC creation possible in ECC 6.0 even without creating the price.

Check for required fields before locking subforms and submitting

I have a 5-page form with many questions, to be completed by the original requestor and multiple approvers. What I'm trying to do is have the original requestor's Submit button on p. 3 lock the input on the first three pages, but first check if all those fields have some content. I currently have all the fields on pp. 1-3 set to "Required" in the object properties, but my script still locks them when there's is one empty one. Here's what I have:

The automatic check for required fields happens after the pages get locked. I would like the check to stop the process before it locks the pages. Is there any way to check all at once that all "Required" fields on those pages have some content before allowing the script to proceed? I know how to script it to manually check the 50 or so questions on those pages, but I would like to avoid that. Thanks for any help.

There are a few problems that I can see from the start. First, your code is going to pick up EVERY node that exists on these pages. Some of those nodes will not have a rawValue, and some will not have an actual name. As an example, you can take your code and create a text field to dump all of the names of the nodes that you get when you pull in all of the nodes this way. Here's an example:

Now, the question is, do you have a consistent naming convention for your fields that might be empty? That could be text fields, radio button lists, etc. For instance, I always prefix the names of objects in order to more easily keep track of what they are in scripts. Since I'm doing that, I can check the name of the field for tf, nf, rbl, cb, or whatever I have included to make sure that I'm checking an actual field before I check for things like rawValue.

As for your line 7 issue. The syntax problem is that you've put extra parentheses in your if statement. Take out the parentheses that are just before and after the or "||".

Value for mandatory field is missing

I created an application how descripted in 95 Implementing Remote Persistency with CAF and RFCs (Service).
The problem occurred when I try to search for an entry. I get the following error:
german: "ERROR. Wert für Pflichtattribut ... fehlt:"
english: "Value for mandatory field ... is missing"
The option mandatory=true seems to be the problem. But I need this option to make these fields available for the mapping with the create method. After I while of tinkling I find out that the errormessage appears when I set more than to fields to mandatory.
Do anybody know how to resolve this error?

Hi Martin,
I reported this issue to development and they said that this is "by design". Here is the recommendation.
1. set the "Mandatory" flag to false for each attribute that is not required by your external interface.
2. perform mappings for only the mandatory attributes in the create method.
3. perform mappings for mandatory and optional attributes in the update method. The update method allows you to map optional attributes.
4. At runtime, first call the create method with only the required attributes, then call the update method to fill any optional attributes.
This should eliminate the error that you get in the Service Browser.

Hello,
No need of screen exits or ABAPer.
You can easily do it with Transaction Variant using T-Code - SHD0 (SHD zero).
If you dont know how to create a Transaction Variant, just search the forum with Date Range "All" & you will get lot of guidence.
You will just need help of Basis person for removing end-user's authorization for XD01 & giving authorization for (e.g.) ZXD01

Error while creating new user in Oracle 11i EBS

I am getting following error while creating new user. How solve this issue?
“Unable to load java class % specified profile option SIGNON_PASSWORD_CUSTOM. Please verify that the class exists and that it implements the java interface oracle.apps.fnd.security.PasswordValidation”.

Following is the text from Note for Custom Password Validation logic:
Customers who wish to use their own password validation logic may do
so by writing their own Java classes that implement the
oracle.apps.fnd.security.PasswordValidation Java interface. The
interface requires 3 methods to be implemented:
1) public boolean validate(String user, String password)
    - This method takes a username and password, and then returns true
or false, indicating whether the user's password is valid or invalid,
respectively.
2) public String getErrorStackMessageName()
    - This method returns the name of the message to display when the
user's password is deemed invalid (i.e., the validate() method returns
