Hello,
frequently we need to check in some text document into CMS, we have original file docNNN.rtf and two translated versions gedocNNN.rtf and itdocNNN.rtf ("ge" and "it" here stands for german and italy accordingly). We want to automate checkin in of translated versions of documents as it must use almost all the same metadata as original document. So user will fill all necessary fields only once...
I created custom check in page in HCST for first file and set RedirectUrl point not to confirmation page but to another form (named "geform"), which read back (with DOC_INFO) all info about previously checked in document and construct file name for german version of file. This form uses onload function with postCheckInStandard( document.form["geform"] ) operator in order to automagically check in this second document. But it doesn't work. If I use for file name:

I not able to set my constructed file name into field (known issue because of security reason for type="file" items), but when I use type="text", then I redirected to the error page which says that “Content Server Request Failed. Content item was not successfully checked in. The content item must have a primary file.”
Probably I'm out of luck with HCST, but what is my option then? (I believe JSP will have same problem as it also use type="file" in examples)

Ok, while this isn't the most complete anwer you might be looking for I would say what you're trying to do is possible, it is almost exactly what happens when you create a data file in site studio. Never mind about the site studio part, the point is, there is functionality in content server where you can specify you want to check in a file from the server. Is that what you want to do though?
So, you check in file A from the client. Which you then wan to direct to another check in page. Do you want to check in the same file three times (becoming three different files containing the same info on the server)? Or are you wanting to do three different files (from the client computer) with the same metadata?

How can I error-check multiple pdf files at once?

There are programs online but they're too costly. Isn't there sometime Adobe has built-in where I can hilight an entire list of pdf files and check for errors to see if one of them is giving a font-issue error or etc.
I'm using Windows 7 and we have different versions of Adobe installed in our office, so if I know which version has what I want that'll help, too.

GKaiseril is correct ... Acrobat X Pro you create an action to Start With "A Folder on My Computer" (if there are multiple files in the folder you can set options to ignore them). Then add the step "Accessibility Check (Full)" and "Full Check" to that action.

Numbers 09 not working - I can open the program but only a few files are available, missing blank, checklist and many others. e.g when I click on a file I get this error: The document "nmbtemplate is invalid. The index.xml file is missing. help.

Numbers in iWork 09 not working can't access Blank, Checklist and many other files within Numbers. I can open the program but only a few files are available. When I click on the file (which also has no icon just the name of the file) this warning appears:

I recently had to get a new hard drive installed and had the system upgraded and more memory put in by a Mac certified specialist recommended to me from the Apple store in Northbrook because this was the 3rd time my drive went bad but this time it was to old (I got the IMAC- in 2007) and the Apple store could no longer work on it this time so they recommended a few places that had certified Mac specialists. Since then Numbers is not working right.
I'm sure it's something simple to fix, but I've tried re installing it and that didn't work. Appreciate any help.

There is one way its getting fixed. Once I update my Adobe Illustrator CC to Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 it is further allowing me to go into the system folder and allocate the font to the file so that it can replace it. My only concern now is that our MAC partners who will receive these files back from us have Adobe CS6. We will down save it to CS6 but I hope they won't experience any font issues because of us using CC 2014? Any light you can shed on this?

Hi All,
I am getting an error message "All available connections to database server are in use by other client machines. Please try again later and check the log file for error 5054" when trying to log into HRC (This user has the reporting capabilities) . I checked the log files this is what i found out
The log file stated that there were ongoing connections of HRC with the CCX (I am sure there isn't any active login to HRC)

What is the OS version of the PC you are running and is it physical machine or virtual machine that is running the HRC client ..
OS Version Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and it’s a physical machine.
. The Max DB Connections for Report Client Sessions is set to 5 for each servers (There are two servers). The no of HR Sessions is set to 10.
I wanted to know if there is a way to find the HRC sessions active now and terminate the one or more or all of that sessions from the server end ?

We have had this "PRX5" problem with Exchange 2013 since the RTM version. We recently applied CU3, and it did not correct the problem. We have seen this problem on every Exchange 2013 we manage. They are all installations where all roles
are installed on the same Windows server, and in our case, they are all Windows virtual machines using Windows 2012 Hyper-V.
We have tried all the "this fixed it for me" solutions regarding DNS, network cards, host file entries and so forth. None of those "solutions" made any difference whatsoever. The occurrence of the temporary error PRX5 seems totally random.
About 2 out of 20 incoming mail test by Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer fail with this PRX5 error.
Most people don't ever notice the issue because remote mail servers retry the connection later. However, telephone voice mail systems that forward voice message files to email, or other such applications such as your scanner, often don't retry and
simply fail. Our phone system actually disables all further attempts to send voice mail to a particular user if the PRX5 error is returned when the email is sent by the phone system.
Is Microsoft totally oblivious to this problem?
PRX5 is a serious issue that needs an Exchange team resolution, or at least an acknowledgement that the problem actually does exist and has negative consequences for proper mail flow.

Trying to use a new, larger external hard drive for my Time Machine backup. However, every time I start the backup, it gets started then fails. And, I can't delete the few files that did save on the external. Sort of a catch 22. Any ideas?

Is it a USB hard drive? USB hard drives have the problem of not giving full speed if they are hooked up on the same bus as keyboards and mice. Double check your profiler to make sure that is not a problem. If it is Firewire, make sure there aren't other firewire devices in use at the same time. I recommend not only keeping a Time Machine backup, but also a clone, and if you do use Time Machine, to make sure the Time Machine drive or partition is at least twice the size of the original drive.

Can only copy few files at a time from DVD

I received two DVDs from our wedding photographer and when trying to copy a DVD with about 400 images to my Mac it always fails somewhere in the process, with the drive making a disconcerting scratching noise just before it stops. Once it fails the only option is to force quit Finder and then force restart. Tried copying all the files at once from the second DVD and same result.
I have been able to copy small batches files, a few at a time, and am up to about 100 of the 400 on disk one but it has taken hours. Sometimes it fails on a batch of 10, sometimes not, and I can always eventually copy the files in the failed batch do I don't think the files are corrupt on the DVD, nor do there appear to be any scratches. Each time it fails my only recourse is to force restart and try the batch again. At this rate it could take 20 hours to copy images from both DVDs.
Any idea how to fix this? Here is info on my drive:

Thank you for the replies. After using both my laptop and another laptop to copy the files we finally got them all copied. Both laptops exhibited similar behavior on both DVDs so it probably is the type of DVDr (. The scratching was not the laser motor seeking to read the disk, rather it was relative to the spinning speed of the dvd, as if it were warped or had a piece sticking off of it, and it scratched more the faster the DVD spun, but the DVD looked to be fine. I have since tried other DVDs and they work fine so still not sure what the problem was but the files are on my HD now so that problem is solved.

How do I change permissions on many files at once?

I recently had a large hard drive crash, and, long story short, I got all my data back but now have a different user account on a new hard drive. The permissions on all the files on the computer are fine.
However, I am a recently graduated film student and use an external drive to edit video. When I tried to open up Final Cut Pro and work on a project, I was told that the program couldn't work because I didn't have "write" access to my scratch drives. I changed the permissions on the relevant folders and can now open the application fine, but can't actually edit because ALL the medi files don't give me full read/write access.
I can change them all one at a time, which requires I enter my password for each one, but this would take a few days of work to complete.
My question is: how can I add my user account with read/write permission to many files at once? I've heard this can be done with Terminal, but I'm not sure how.
Please give me step-by-step instructions if you can! I have never used Terminal before! I am not a techie, but I want to be, and I learn quickly!

How do i rename multiple files at once?

i have quite a few file groupings that i would like to rename without having to click on each one individually. I would like to either rename them serially (ie: tree a, tree b, ..., tree x) or just tack on a name to the beginning of each file name (ie: oak, spruce would become: tree - oak, tree - spruce). How about on the end (ie: oak tree, spruce tree)? Is there any way to do this?!?!
On a similar but slightly different subject, is there any way to stick a bunch of tags on files? I have a huge photo library of architecture projects that i would like to be able to categorize for cross referencing. I started to work in iphoto but it seems like it is not the right interface for what i am trying to do.

Ah, I have Renamer4Mac-2.8.2.zip which was free. I see it has changed ownership or management and is now shareware (and a pretty hefty price IMHO). It's possible that the [older versions|http://renamer4mac.com/download/all-versions.html] are still free.
I also have psrenamer which I think is also free. Not as polished as the other but since i only use it once every couple of months it works fine for me.

How can I convert multiple hidden files into normal files at once?

I have a folder with a few hundred hidden files that I no longer want hidden. If I were to change each file separately it would take hours to finish. I was hoping that there was some way to convert all of these files at once with the terminal. Can anyone offer a solution? Thanks.

program?This is about the only partially sensible question you asked. But the answer is that unless you use some native code, you can't.
How do I check how many lines it read?It doesn't even make sense to ask this question. First of all, what's a "line" anyway? Files are just sequences of bytes. A "line" is only in the interpretation of those bytes, such as if it contains <cr><lf> sequences an application may choose to render the contents of those bytes as logical "lines" of string sequences. Second of all, why the heck would it matter to you how many bytes have already been read by some other process(es)?

Additionally you need to perform following configuration as well.
The required settings are made under Document Management >> Approval >> Define Signature Strategy
Assign a signature strategy to the document status.
Also the required settings are made under Document Management >> Control data >> Define document type >> Define document status. (You can select any status for which you want digital signature for approval)
Assign a signature strategy to the document status.
Save the changes.
Create DIR
Once the Document is reached to that particular status it will ask for digital signature.
Choose Digital signature (Double click on Enter key).
The Digital Signature dialog box appears. Enter your comment in the text field. Select the individual signature strategy is assigned to you DIR. Put the login id and password.Thus the Digital signature process has been completed.
If you want to see the digital signature for your Document. Goto DIR and use menu 'Environment' >> 'Digital Signature'.

How to force checked out CSV Files to open in Excel and not in Notepad

I'm looking for some pointers / direction.
.CSV files on SharePoint 2010 document library opens up in notepad by default. I did the DocIcon.xml CSV entry, changed the MIME type in IIS and did the IIS reset. Also on client computer CSV file is associated with MS Excel 2013. Now clicking a CSV file
opens it up in MS Excel.
Now a user checks out a CSV file and the same user clicks on the CSV file, the file is opening in notepad! If other users clicks on the same checked out file (checked out by the first user) it opens up in Excel for them. I've tried the 'Edit in Microsoft
Excel' from the pop up menu but with same result.
How can I force a checked out CSV file to open in MS Excel?

1. Highlight one of the images and press cmd+i (or right click and select "Get info")
2. Click the dropdown menu and select Photoshop (you might have to click "Other..." to find it.
3. Then click "Change All" button below.
You're going to have to do this with every different TYPE of image (e.g. jpeg, tiff etc) but once you've covered all the types you won't have the problem again.

Can't get Firefox to load at all after trying fixes from support web site. Have checked for lock file, processes running, reboot, reinstall. NO JOY.

I'm running Vista for operating system on an HP laptop that's about 2 years old. I've installed all current updates.
I've always used Firefox. It started crashing and creating processes but not launching. Went to support and scoped it out -- there was a lock file my profile directory. I deleted it, and Firefox started loading.
Used it a few times -- closed the app each time on exist as per suggestions on support site info. One time -- back to square one, wouldn't load, just created a process. Reboot, ending process, checking for lock file, reinstalling -- all unsucessful.

Taking Sreekanth's suggestion to try a Skinny build, I get the following when I make a call. It offers codecs in the order I SET THEM AND ONLY THE CODECS I SET! YAY!

Using a Skinny build on the phones also solved other issues. The phones use G711 when the whole path supports G711 and G722 when the whole path supports G722. It doesn't always use G722 and rely on transcoding for the call paths that can't use it. It's fantastic.. The phones also receive the QoS tagging that I set and that seems to result in better audio quality than on the SIP builds, which never did get those settings. Finally, it even solved a slow Exchange 2013 answer issue I have been experiencing for quite some time. I practically fell out of my chair when I saw everything that was fixed just by switching...
Cisco, PLEASE FIX YOUR SIP BUILDS! It's insane how the SCCP builds work perfectly and the SIP builds don't, especially with how much these phones cost.. I was thinking of possibly acquiring some 9951s, which are SIP only. I'm a little leery about that at this point. If they have the same kinds of issues as the SIP builds for the 7975g, there's no SCCP alternative to use..

Thank you for suggesting a Skinny build.. That was about the only thing I didn't try. I am happy beyond belief that this is working so well now, even though the SIP builds should be just as well developed as the SCCP ones.

I need my parameter for another report and i don't wan tot create same parameter again, i can export and import the parameters one by one but there are many parameter and i don't want to do this procedure for each of my parameter separately!

Project settings - few file formats are involved

Hi,
I would like to create a project that combines few file formats:
- AVCHD (.m2ts) files taken by Panasonic HDC-TM700 at 1920x1080i and downloaded from the camera by Panasonic's HD writer AE 2.1
- MP4 files taken by GOPRO Hero HD at 1920x720
- Stills
Videos are PAL. I'm using PE9
What settings should I use for this project?

As I've written about pretty extensively on Premiere Elements support site Muvipix.com, you definitely should NOT combine a number of video formats in the same project. It only leads to trouble.
You should be able to set up a project for that AVCHD 1920x1080 video. And you can load the photos in there is they're sized to no larger than 2000x1500 pixels and you've gone to Edit/Preferences and unchecked the option to Scale to Frame Size.
But if you try to add that GoPro footage to the project, it could lead to problems.
It's worth a try, of course. But it's a very different format. And, if you start having problems with your project, it will likely be the culprit.
Ideally, when your project settings match your footage, there will be NO red lines above the clips on your timeline until you add effects to them. That's a good test to see if you've chosen the right AVCHD project settings.
But, once you do see red lines above your clips (and you will always see red lines above photos!) be sure to render yoru timeline by pressing the Enter key. The red lines will turn green. As long as you keep green lines above your clips, the program should perform well.
