Check Multiple Value Condition

Hi,
I am preparing a query to show the data which are not in table TECH_SOURCING_EMP_ACTUAL_HOURS, In this table there are unique combination ID'S
EMPLOYEE_ID AND PROJECT_ID
/* I need to check from the below query to see which are records which are in table TECH_SOURCING_EMP_ACTUAL_HOURS */
SELECT
TD.EMPLOYEE_ID,
PRJ.PROJECT_ID
FROM TECH_SOURCING_EMPLOYEE_DETAILS TD,
TECH_SOURCING_EMP_PROJECT PRJ AND
/* TD.EMPLOYEE_ID, PRJ.PROJECT_ID
NOT IN ( SELECT EMPLOYEE_ID,PROJECT_ID FROM TECH_SOURCING_EMP_ACTUAL_HOURS ) */
Is there any method to check two unique combinations. Please suggest
Thanks

  • Checking multiple IF conditions

    I'm working on a stored procedure and having issues.  I want to check two conditions and is none of them are met, Insert a new record. In the first 2 checks, If I find a match I will hold that value and update later in the script.  If I can't
    find a match, the 3rd step will add a new record to the location table and I will hold that value and use it to update later in the script.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Yes; you have no idea how to write SQL, so you write COBOL or BASIC in SQL. Your code is not declarative, but classic procedural programming.
    You do not even know that rows are not records! This is fundamental. You are using IDENTITY because it looks like a record number on a 1950's magnetic tape. Your files had singular names because the unit of work in files is a record; in RDBMS, we use plural
    names to show that tables are sets.
    You use flags because that is how you wrote in assembly language or COBOL.
    But worse, you keep audit information in the same table! This is illegal.
    >> I want to check two conditions and is none of them are met, Insert a new record [sic]. In the first 2 checks, If I find a match I will hold that value and update later in the script. <<
    No, in a declarative language; we have no local variables and no concept of later sequential execution.
    >> If I can't find a match, the 3rd step [sic] will add a new record [sic] to the Locations table and I will hold that value and use it to update later in the script. <<
    Do you know about the SAN (Standard Address Number) used in several industries? ISO country codes, state codes are NOT ids. The old Sybase GETDATE() is now the ANSI/ISO Standard CURRENT_TIMESTAMP in T-SQL; you did an illegal act with bad code.
    >> Any help would be appreciated. <<
    You need a major education, not just a kludge. The schema needs to be thrown out and done correctly. Without DDL, we can only guess, but I think that once you fixed the schema, the statement would be something like this skeleton:
    MERGE INTO Locations AS L
    USING
       (SELECT X.*
          FROM (VALUES (@in_state_code, @in_country_code, @in_institution_name))
    AS X (state_code, country_code, institution_name)) AS N
    ON @in_research_project_id = L.research_project_id
       AND @in_term_id = L.term_id
    WHEN MATCHED
    THEN UPDATE
      SET state_code = N.state_code,
          country_code = N.country_code,
          institution_name = N.institution_name
    WHEN NOT MATCHED
    THEN INSERT  state_code, country_code, institution_name
         VALUES (@in_state_code, @in_country_code, @in_institution_name);

    One way could be to sort the String for length and then use SUBSTR with an IN-List:
    select b.segment1, b.segment2, b.description, c.cross_reference, c.cross_reference_type
    from inv.mtl_system_items_b b, inv.mtl_cross_references_b c
    where b.inventory_item_id = c.inventory_item_id and
          b.ORGANIZATION_ID = 136 and
          (substr(c.cross_reference,1,12) in (
                               '232003000000',
                               '303681020128',
                               '489122853014')
           or
           substr(c.cross_reference,1,11) in (
                               '70986205105',
                               '70986205112',

                               '70986205131',
                               '70986205142')
           or
           substr(c.cross_reference,1,10) in (
                               '4894230110',
                               '5383800117',

                               '1500005030',

  • Passing check box values to WHERE clause

    Hi,
    I have created a Data block - 'CONTACTS' (Database data block)
    and has database item - 'Code', 'Descr'
    The number of records displayed is set to 5.
    Value When checked - 'Y'
    Value When Unchecked - 'N'
    Check box mapping of other values - 'unchecked'
    I am writing the code inside 'WHEN BUTTON PRESSED'. My main objective is to return the count of records based
    based on several conditions and one among them is CODE which is can be single or multiple based on the check box checked.
    The requirement is when i check one or multiple checkboxes, i should pass the 'Code' item values to the WHERE clause.
    Right now whenver i am trying to do so, only the current record value is copied to the WHERE clause.
    I have tried using basic loop but things havnt worked.
    Logic tried with basic LOOP
    BEGIN
    GO_BLOCK('CONTACT');
    IF :contact.cb = 'Y' THEN
    LOOP
    IF p_where is null then
    p_where := :contact.code;
    else
    p_where := p_where ||','||:contact.code;
    end if;
    exit when :system.last_record = 'TRUE';
    next_record;
    END LOOP;
    end if;
    MESSAGE ( 'p_where :'||p_where);
    MESSAGE (' ');
    END;
    And Even if i write the LOOP before the first IF, it return me the current record value and move to the last record.
    please guide me where am i wrong.
    Regards.
    Anoop.

    Try something like this:
    FIRST_RECORD;
    LOOP
      IF :contact.cb = 'Y' THEN
        IF p_where is null then
           p_where := :contact.code;
         else
           p_where := p_where ||','||:contact.code;
         end if;
       END IF;
      exit when :system.last_record = 'TRUE';
      next_record;
    END LOOP;
    -- END LOOP;
    MESSAGE ( 'p_where :'||p_where);
    MESSAGE (' ');
    END;

  • Passing Multiple Values from Multi Select

    Hi,
    My requirement is simple. I have created a simple Multi Select Option in parameter form and i want to send multiple selected values from the multi select option (in parameter form) to reports.
    eg:
    I want to send multiple countries code as input .........'US', 'CA', 'IND', 'UK'
    Can i do it in Oracle 6i reports, Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Asgar

    Hi Thanks Again,
    For such a nice response. I got the Lexical Where condition properly running but still getting problems in catching the multiple values to be passed from form. just i will give u an insight of wat i have done:
    SQL:
    SELECT ALL FROM EMPLOYEES &cond_1* -- Working FIne
    in my Html Parameter Form i have an Multi Select component (the Problem is here) it is not passing more than i value from the form once i am accessing it from web or running it in paper report. In paper report layout it is not allowing me to select more than one value. but in HTML it is allowing to select multiple values but at the server end (After Parameter Form Trigger) it is giving a single value not multiple values.
    In PL/SQL when i checking the length of country_id i m getting it as one.
    Here is my SQL code
    srw.message(10, LENGTH(:country_id_1));
    :cond_1 := 'where country_id = '''|| :country_id_1 ||'''';
    This is passing the condition properly to SQL but only with single value but i want to pass multiple values
    I am struck in this+_
    WHERE CONTRY_COLUMN IN ('USA','UAE') -- This variable you have to pass from you form...
    Here as you said you gave multiple selection in your parameter form to generate report. So before generation report just prepare variable like this as it is bold above.
    and pass parameter through your runtime form to the report as you pass the normal parameter...liket this i gave you example...
    ADD_PARAMETER(PARAMETER_LIST_NAME,'P_CONT_PARAM',TEXT_PARAMETER,vString);
    Sorry for troubling you for a small thing but please help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks Again............
    Asgar.

  • Passing Multiple Values from a worksheet to PL/SQL function.

    Hi All,
    Is there any way to pass multiple values selected in a worksheet to a PL/SQL function ?
    I will try to explain the scenario:
    We have a crosstab report that showing all the customer details, deposit sum of a customer in each date in a date range selected. With the customer details we are showing the Rank of a customer based on the deposit in the latest date selected. Filtering is based on the rank, ie Top50 or Top60 etc.( As I said rank is calculating based on the deposit in the latest date).This is working fine.
    Now the new requirement is to : For example, in Top50 report, list all the customers, who were in the Top50 list, in any of the dates selected. We are able to display the daywise rank, but when giving a condition like daywiserank <= 50, the result becomes uncertain. Some blank lines, wrong amounts etc..
    As a work around we tried to find out the rank in a PL/SQL function. But the issue there is : we have some multiple value parameters used in the worksheet.
    Is there any way to pass multiple values selected in a worksheet to a PL/SQL function ?
    Or any other work arounds for the scenario explained?
    Reagrds,
    Jeneesh

    Hi Russ,
    Thanks for the response.
    Russ Proudman wrote:
    1. I thought there was an analytical function similar to rank - or maybe an option of rank - that if there are duplicate records to have them all considered the same rank. So if you had 3 records all the same as rank=2 then a condition saying where rank=2 would return the 3 records. You could check into this.
    We are already using DENSE_RANK. But the issue is the output contains incorrect null values nd repeated rows.
    We got it solved as I explained in the previous post. But will that AGGREGATION MODE setting ( Which discoverer says - not recommended) have any issue? I mean side effects?
    Russ Proudman wrote:
    2. Another thought is that you can create a PL/SQL routine - that's called from a SQL function registered in Discoverer - where a table is created that does the first part of your query. Then a worksheet is created to use the data from that table. So, in essence, the table would have your top50 ranked customers. Then you can write any kind of worksheet against that table. However, DBAs are loath to allow tables - that they didn't create! - many times in a PROD environment.
    Here also the same problem will occur: as the top 50 will depend upon the parameters. I cannot pass those parameters to PL/SQL Function.And storing the top50 ( itmay be top100 or to 150 also) for all combinations of the parameters is impossible
    Russ Proudman wrote:
    3. Finally, are you sure you're rank function is correct in that if you're getting blank lines, maybe the 'over' part is not considering all columns needed to determine the rank?
    Yes the query we are using is correct. The output QUERY of discoverer gives correct results in Sqlplus.

  • Adhoc Query : Error during selection; check the selection conditions

    Hi
    We have a report set-up and which we want to run using our adhoc query report tcode S_PH0_48000513
    The report, has a few different selection criteria in it to look at all action IT screen data in the system for ee's in specific personnel areas. There is also a criteria to allow us to paste in specific employee numbers we are interested in. The issue I am facing is that over about 3000 ids, the system automatically returns me a message when I click on the Output button to run the report which states:
    Error during selection; check the selection conditions
    Message no. PAIS206
    I am not sure why this is happening. The selection criteria are fine and the other day I ran the report and I experienced no issues. The report ran successfully. Now though, if I try and paste in all the ids I am interested in (about 8000) I get this message straightaway.
    Can anything be done to overcome this issue?
    Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Nicola

    Hi
    The message in full is:
    Error during selection; check the selection conditions
    Message no. PAIS206
    Diagnosis
    A runtime error occurred during dynamic selection.
    System response
    The runtime error will be caught; no short dump will be created. This error should not occur as a rule. However, very large select statements may trigger the runtime error SAPSQL_STMNT_TOO_LARGE or DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_RSQL. There is no way to prevent this happening. In this case, the error can only be caught.
    Procedure
    Check the selection conditions to see whether the error was caused because the option "Import from text file" included too many objects in the "Multiple selection" dialog. If this is so, you must limit the number of individual values.

    I've pretty much exhausted my search (google and in this forum) with finding a solution to my problem... So now I'm hoping that any of you will be able to help me out.

    'List of Values' = Static
    'Allow multiple values' = False
    'Value Type' = String
    with no Default Value
    table1.ID is of type Integer
    Using the above query, it works when I enter a single value such as '66200', but I get the following error when I leave the param_id blank:
    "Failed to retrieve data from the database.
    Details: HY000:(Oracle)(ODBC)(Ora)ORA-00936: missing expression
    (Database Vendor Code: 936 )"
    When I try to enter the value '66200, 66201' (yes, I know I have Allow multiple values set to False, and I do want the user to be able to enter more than one ID by using comma as a separator), I get the following error:
    "Failed to retrieve data from the database.
    Details: HY000:(Oracle)(ODBC)(Ora) ORA-00920: invalid relational operator
    (Database Vendor Code: 920 )"
    But when I have the following query:
    Select
    From
    Where
    and (table1.ID IN ({?param_id}))
    and enter the value '66200' it works, or if I enter the value '66200, 66201' this works too ('66200, 66201' will return the correct data result).
    However, if I leave the param_id to be blank, I get the error:
    "Failed to retrieve data from the database.
    Details: HY000:(Oracle)(ODBC)(Ora)ORA-00936: missing expression
    (Database Vendor Code: 936 )"
    What I want to try and do is to allow the user to leave the param_id empty and have the SQL query return all ID values by checking if that param_id is empty.
    I understand that I can just add a Value to the param_id to have "ALL" and just let the user select it, but the problem with that is then I will need to have the SQL Query potentially return thousands of data before I can even do the Record Selection - obviously not good on report performance and all.  I do have four (4) other parameters that I am using for the report, with two of them being required Date parameters:
    {?param_startdate}
    {?param_enddate}
    {?param_title}
    {?param_refnum}
    These four parameters are also in the SQL query, and returns with no problem at all:
    WHERE
    and ( {?param_startdate} IS NULL OR {?param_startdate}='' OR table.startdate >= {?param_startdate} )
    and ( {?param_enddate} IS NULL OR {?param_enddate}='' OR table.enddate <= {?param_enddate} +1)
    and ( '{?param_refnum}' IS NULL OR table.refnum= TO_NUMBER('{?param_refnum}') )
    and ( '{?param_title}' IS NULL OR UPPER(table.title) = UPPER('{?param_title}) )
    So, my question is:
    Is there a way to have the param_id be left blank thus allowing the SQL query to return all the ids?
    Any help would be much appreciated... thanks in advance.

    Hi Mohamed,
    Thanks again!  This does the job, but I find that it runs much slower than if I were to have it in the SQL query instead.  I guess there isn't a way to have a check condition in the SQL query instead of having it in the Record Selection?
    I was trying the CASE WHEN in the WHERE clause of the SQL query, but not being a SQL expert, I wasn't successful with this method - I was able to get it to work with one entry, but not multiple values '66200, 66201' or blank (all values))
    WHERE
    and table.ID IN
    (CASE
    WHEN {?param_ID} IS NULL THEN table.ID
    ELSE {?param_ID}
    END)

  • Multiple "FromAddressContainsWords" Conditions in One Rule via PowerShell?

    My organization recently moved to Exchange Online and I am looking at trying to convert the old mail rules from our old system (Sieve rules from Zimbra) to something that will work in Exchange Online.  My plan is to massage the Sieve output into New-InboxRule
    statements.  The massaging part is the easy part.  What I'm having difficult with is using PowerShell to recreate a rule that should have multiple -FromAddressContainsWords parameters.  Here's what I started off with:
    New-InboxRule -Name "Annoyances" -FromAddressContainsWords roxioemail.com -FromAddressContainsWords "Covalent Technologies" -FromAddressContainsWords process.con -FromAddressContainsWords [email protected] -DeleteMessage $true -StopProcessingRules -Mailbox George.Lenzer
    This didn't work as the -FromAddressContainsWords option can only be used once.  The error also suggested trying to do an array if the parameter would accept one.  I don't know, because that isn't documented anywhere.  The only thing mentioned
    in the help is that it will take a "MultivaluedProperty" which I assume means some sort of string or array that has multiple values in it.
    I then tried this:
    New-InboxRule -Name "Junk Mail" -FromAddressContainsWords {roxioemail.com; Covalent Technologies; process.com; [email protected]} -DeleteMessage $true -StopProcessingRules $true -Mailbox George.Lenzer
    While this worked, when I went into OWA to look at the rule and check the list of words, instead of each word on it's own line, had a single entry containing everything between { and }.  This doesn't look right, and I don't expect it would do what I
    want.  So how does one go about creating an Inbox rule from PowerShell that needs to check multiple conditions, some of the identical type?  It can be done from the GUI, so there must be a way to do it from PowerShell.  Any suggestions?

    Hi George.  Thanks for posting in the forums.  Looking at both of your code snippets, I can see where the problem is.  MultivaluedProperties in PowerShell are exactly as you describe: a set of properties presented as a single argument to a
    parameter.  The mistake you made was attempting to use the semicolon to separate the items in your multivalued property and then trying to present them as a single string.  This is why you get the whole blob of text between the squiggly braces.
    Before I give you the solution, let me say that what you want is to pass an array to -FromAddressContainsWords.  In PowerShell. the comma along with multiple quoted strings is what defines an array.  See here for a better explanation than I can
    give:
     http://theessentialexchange.com/blogs/michael/archive/2008/02/08/Multivalued-Parameters-.aspx
    With that said, here's the solution to your issue:
    New-InboxRule -Name "Junk Mail" -FromAddressContainsWords ("roxioemail.com", "Covalent Technologies", "process.com", "[email protected]") -DeleteMessage $true -StopProcessingRules
    $true -Mailbox George.Lenzer
    Hope this helps!

  • Multiple pricing condition

    Hello experts,
    We have created a manual item condition for pricing but we have a problem when we enter the rate for that in the pricing screen.
    For example,
    "ZA01" is the one we created. Whenever we enter the value for that it automatically adds another line again and again after going to main order screen and back into Pricing screen again.
    ZA01 Discount for Rb              <- new line added
    ZA01 Discount for Rb    10.000 %  <- again
    ZA01 Discount for Rb    10.000 %
    It looks like this condition has multiple entry capability. I'm not familiar with item condition configuration but is there any way to prevent redundant multiple item condition entries?
    And also, from programming point of view, is it possible to delete manual item condition or combine it togther (10+10=20%)in XKOMV in one of the USEREXIT_XKOMV_... ?
    Regards,

    Hi,
    I think this condition type has been activated  as header condition as well as item condition, check in configurations...
    Its not a better way to delete/combine the condition values technically. Check out the configurations.
