Check table Harmonization Syncrhonization with R/3

Hi all,
Has anybody tried to synchronize the harmonized Check table data with R/3?
I am designing central master mainteance scenario however not sure how to syncronize (not Syndicate, that's easy using MDM tool) check table data with R/3.
e.g. If I create new Account Group, Plant Code, Material Type or Bank Detail how to update it to R/3? Was able to synchronize Vendor, Material and Customer data but could not find standard content to check table.
Manually updating check table in R/3 is that current option available? Is SAP working on providing some standard XI content/interface for this scenario?

Hi Nikki,
One way to do this is go backwards from the data source and extractors to see on which tables they are based so that you can get the table filed to InfoObject mapping. Are you using a business content cube and / or data sources?

The GC of RBS maintainer just purges BLOBs in SQL Server. And FILESTREAM GC is needed to purge the files in file system.

Yes, In Simple recovery mode, just run SQL statement:
CHECKPOINT;

COPA user-defined charact. w. own value maint. with existing check-table

Dear Experts,
I need to create a user-defined characteristic with own value maintenance with the pecularity that it needs to refer to the same check table as another user-defined characteristic with own value maintenance.
Could anybody explain me how I can do that?

Hi Eric,
Generally when you are creating user defined charachteristic with own value maintainance check table is created by the system. So you requirement is not possible to achieve. As a workaounr you can create two char as you want and then copy the content of the first check table to the second one. This will have the same impact as what you have described.

Foriegn key concept not working with check table

Consider, there are two tables like emp_personal and emp_official.
In emp_personal table , the fields are empid, empname, dob for example. In this table, empid is the primary key field.
In emp_official table, the fields are empid, dept, designation for example. In this also, empid is the Primary key.
Now we relate these two tables using the foreign key relationship.
Now, emp_personal is the Check table .
emp_official table is the Foreign key table.
for example create some 5 records in the emp_personal table .
Table : emp_personal :   Primary Key - empid
empid       empname       empdob             Status
   1            AAA            1.1.1990           Record saved successfully
   2            BBB            2.2.1990           Record saved successfully
   3            CCC            3.3.1990           Record saved successfully
   4            DDD           4.4.1990           Record saved successfully

Records are saved in the table : emp_personal.
Now, Am tryiing to create records in emp_official table.

Now, if am try to create the record which is not in the table emp_personal, which has the empid = 6.Normaly it'll not allow us to create the record 6,
But the think is its allow to create.

did you read the documentation for "screen check"/"check required" flag in foreign key screen? it says:
Flag for check of input values wanted on screen
Definition
This flag defines whether an input check should be executed on the screen for the field. This definition is applies to all the screens on which the check field appears.
The check can be switched off again with the flag set for certain screens (by canceling the flag 'For. key' in the attributes of the corresponding screen field).
Use
Switching off the screen check can be useful in the following cases:
if for test reasons there is to be no check
if a semantic foreign key is used for the aggregate definition but no input check is to be executed.

Are there any other errors in SCC3. What kind of client copy you're performing SAP_ALL or CUST?
As per the logs in your post it seems that the table MD___M8001X does not exist in the database.You could try SE11 or SE14 to check the table.
Any other info would be really helpful.

Check Table with Constant Field

I created table ZTEST with fields MANDT and MATNR, and also created check table MARA for field ZTEST-MATNR, so the current check logic is:
ZTEST-MANDT = MARA-MANDT and
ZTEST-MATNR = MARA-MATNR.
But I just wonder whether I can put one more creteria to only check a specified material type (MARA-MTART) such as 'ZAWA', and there is NO such a field MTART in ZTEST. That is, I want to put one more field from MARA for foreign key check, the new logic is:
ZTEST-MANDT = MARA-MANDT and
ZTEST-MATNR = MARA-MATNR and
MARA-MTART = 'ZAWA'.

Create a database view in the DDIC..With the conditions as MARA-MTART = 'ZAWA' in the selection conditions tab..
Then use the view as the check table for the matnr field in your ztable..

Inserting records into Table with check table logic in place

I want to insert records into a table, and have the check table to not allow invalid entries. Is there a function out there that will allow this? I am currently using the insert statement and it is working except that it is not giving an error when the value does not exist in the check table for the particular fields.
INSERT INTO ZSD_XREF VALUES WA_XREF.
That is the basic statement I'm using ZSD_XREF has several fields one being the material number field tied to the check table which happens to be MAKT file. The insert statement is not validating the material numbers using the check table, or at least it is not giving an error. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, open SQL statements such as INSERT, UPDATE do not go through the check table logic as they directly hit the database layer. Check table checks are performed only if you go through application layer that is when you enter the same data through a screen.
You have to do the checks yourself.

Add new fields with EEW and assign a standard check table?

I would like to add more language fields to a BP - Sold-to (Organization). As I see, one possibility is to use EEW.
Is it then possible to link this field to an existing check table in order to get the existing langauge codes by default?

Actually i am working on the similar task. I added 2 custom fields in order item level using EEWB. I added the check table to my custom field but for some reason it wouldn't show up. So i added the values to the DOMAIN assigned to the custom field and the values showed up on the screen in the seatch help.
I am actually still trying to find other possibilities. I will let you know if i find any.

Hi Eka,
the acticvation will not work because of the existence of the field POSITION
"POSITION is a reserved word"
POSITION is a reserved word; these reserved words are stored in table
TRESE, and the reason should be there also.
You will have to change the field name for the activation to complete.

Content Tab: None of the fact tables are compatible with the query request

**One thing I am not clear yet of all my years with OBIEE is working with the content tab in BMM.**
I have made a rpd the joins in physical layer as shown below:

Error I am getting when i run a request from the 3 columns from the selected 3 tables is:

I get no error for consistency.. I read everywhere and I know i need to set the appropriate aggregation levels in the various dims and facts LTS properties to help OBIEE understanding our model, but how to do that.. how do i decide... how should I approach, what should be the aggregation level, what details.
When i click More button i see different options: Copy, Copy From, Get Levels, Check Level, what do these mean.
Aggregation Content, group by - Logical Level or Column which one should i choose and how should I decide.
Can anyone explain the Content Tab in details and from scratch with some example and why we get these errors.... I know many people who are well versed with many other things related to RPD but this. A little efforts of explaining from you guys will really be appreciated.

My tables in physical layer are joined as below:
D1--> F1 <--D2--> F2 <--D3
Same way i model it in BMM
D1--> F1 <-- D2--> F2 <--D3
Here D1 is non Conformed Dimension for F2 and D3 is non Conformed dim for F1. Later create Dimensional hierarchies, I tried setting up the content levels
I go Sources>content tab of Fact F1 I set
Dimensions----------- Logical level
D1---------------------- D1 Detail
D2---------------------- D2 Detail
D3---------------------- D3 Total
then, I go Sources>content tab of Fact F2 I set
Dimensions----------- Logical level
D1---------------------- D1 Total
D2---------------------- D2 Detail
D3---------------------- D3 Detail
Then, I also go in all the dimensions and set their content levels to Details, but it still gives me errors not sure where I am going wrong in setting the content levels.
I need to know whether the way I have modeled it in BMM is right,
Option 2:
I can combine the two facts in a single Logical Fact or the above design should also work.
(F1&F2)<--D1, D2 , D3 joined separately using complex logical joins.
what will be the content tab details?

Values from check table to Dropdown

Hi Experts,
                I have a requirement like, i want to show the values from a check table in dropdown list. i have two transparent table of which i made a foreign key relation with the second one with some value restrictions. That all working fine.
    I tried creating an input box with reference to the field in the first table.then the search help is comming correctly with the valus from check table. But when i tried to attach the same to dropdown its not displaying the value.
please suggest a solution to display the values in drop down.

          consider you want to have some 10 purchase order numbers in your drop down.
          you will be assigning a node to your drop down.
          in its supply function, write the codings to fill your node by using a select query.
           just like filling a table.
           in this case, your drop down gets filled automatically.

For the particular material which you are using in MB31 for Good's receipt for
Order,check whether the storage location is present in T code MMSC-Extend
material storage location.If not add and save,then try in MB31.

Maintenance View & Viewcluster & Check Table

Hi all,
I created a Viewcluster which includes three Maintenance Views. As you know after running the Viewcluster and when you enter a value to a field, the program checks the value according to the check table.
In my example for REVUS field check table is USR02. So whenever I enter a value to REVUS, it checks USR02 table, and it gives an error if I enter incorrect value. The question is if enter just space (blank), it accepts is - it doesn't give error. What is the situation here? How can I prevent to enter blank value to REVUS.

Yes, this solves the problem. When I did like that it gives this error : Message no. 00 055 (Make an entry in all required fields).
I found another solution too. I'd like to share with you.
In the Maintenance View, we can define a Selection Condition for REVUS field. It should be like that Operator: NE Comparative Value: <blank>. So when we do this the Clusterview doesn't allow to enter blank value and gives this error: Message no. SV 033 (Specify the key within the work area)
It seems that second solution is better because if I choose the first solution when I need to change or modify the maintenance dialog I think I will need to change the screen again.
