Checkbox and Buttons in a JTable's row

Hi,
how do i put an Checkbox or a Button in a JTable row? When i try to insert any element to a JTable's row it automatically converts it to string. How can i solve this?

I am unable to test on Safari 8.x, but have you tried changing the UserAgent from the Developers Tools menu? My UserAgentSwitcher for Firefox only goes up to 7.xx Mavericks, but Safari's should be backwards 'compatible' a very long way.
I am unsure whether you cannot TAB between these controls (normal browser behavior) or whether you have some special code that "SELECTS" each control as you go through them? The latter seems unworkable for any scenario I can imagine - if I want to select something I have brought into focus, the normal action would be to press the ENTER key while control or link is focused, then TAB on through choices to the next selection to be made
Please clarify what exactly the problem is (for *me* at least)

Problem with Checkbox and Button components....(Simple one)

          As I am new to flash and ActionScript 3.0,I have the following issue regarding Flash.
          I have 2 swf files whose contents are as follows: First.swf file contains a check-box (instance name:my_checkbox).    Second.swf file contains a button component(say,label name of Submit and with instance name: submit_btn).
         Now, my requirement is: Whenever I click the submit_btn button, then the check_box must be get selected/visible. If I click it once again, then it must get deselected/invisible. The process must be continued till I stop the click-event on button component.

                   The functionality (i.e., When ButtonDemo.swf file is executed and the Submit button("myBtn") is clicked, the Checkbox component(s) present in "CheckDemo.swf" file is getting appeared in "ButtonDemo.swf" and is ready to access. Also, the selection/enability/visibility also works properly).
                   Also, check the added code.I had added all the required code to fulfil the requirement.
                   When I click the "Submit_btn", the checkbox components placed in "CheckboxDemo.swf" file are appearing in "ButtonDemo.swf". Instead, I don't need to get them.

Refreshing JTable contents (rows and columns) handling.

Hi,
I have a general question related to refreshing the contents of JTable and handling some application specific requirements.In our application we are planning to refresh the contents of JTable automatically after certain period of time by fetching data from database and update the JTable contents or user has clicked refresh button.
But following scenarios we are planning to handle when refresh is called automatically or user has clicked refresh button.
1) User is working with data of JTable. Like rows of JTable has checkBoxes and user selects them and doing operation like viewing the details of selected rows in new details dialog. So if refreshing is done then the selection will be lost if I update the whole data in JTable.
a)Will it be possible to append the data at the end of JTable rows without disturbing the existing JTable contents.
b) Is it feasible to compare the data of existing rows and newly fetched rows and update only the rows whose values are changed in database or update specifically updated columns. But this comparision for finding changed values will result in performance problems.So are there any other alternatives of doing this, ideas are most welcome.
c) Simple way is to alert the user that data will be updated and everything will be refreshed will be the choice in worst case.
I guess many may have encountered such problems and may have solved it depending on the product requirements.
Ideas and suggestions are most welcome.

Here are my views and my assumptions.
Assumptions :
1) Your JTable is populated with list of Objects.
2) Your tables in database is having columns like created date, created time, updated date updated time
3) Order by clause for all the time will remain same.
If these assumptions are correct then I think you can achieve your goal.
Here how it is.
Your application session will maintain last db hit time and will maintain for every hit that applicate made to fetch data from db.
When object is created on the server side once it fetch data from table it will compare the created date/time or update date/time with the session varibale that holds last visit date/time. Based on this flag need to be set to indicate if this item is added/updated/deleted since last visit.
And when all these object is returned to your client, the table model will iterate through the list and based on object index in the list and and if object is changed will update only that perticular row.
Hope this is what you want to achieve.

How to realize Checkbox and Radio Buttons based on Attributes in JHeadstart

I try to redevelop the Summit Forms Demo in ADF.
The module "ORDER" contains, among other things, a checkbox and radio buttons based on database columns(VARCHAR2).
The column(checkbox) named PAYMENT_TYPE contains the values CASH and CREDIT and the column(radio button) called ORDER_FILLED contains the values Y and N.
After creating the business components, I set in JHeadstarts Application Definition the Display Type of these two attributes to checkBox and radio-horizontal.
I created a dymanic domain for the radio-horizontal and a static domain for the checkBox.
The radio-horizontal within the dymanic domain works nearly correct.
I set the Data Collection in this dynamic domain to the required Group and the Value and Meaning Attribute to the necessary Attribute.
Within the JSF- Page the values are shown right but unfortunately there are too many radio buttons available. Instead of displaying the two radio buttons CASH and CREDIT were many CASH and CREDIT radio buttons shown.
I can´t find any solution for this case.
The problem with the checkBox is that therfore a static domain is required but I want to show the value of the checkBox based on the described attribute, like the handling of the radio horizontal.
But I don´t know how to implement this, if it is possible.
I´m using JHeadstart v10.1.3.2 and I´m pleased about any reply or solution.

If you run the application module tester, and query the view object usage underlying your dynamic domain, how many rows does it return? It should return only two rows, one for CASH and one for CREDIT. If more than two rows are returned, your query is wrong.
What is the problem with using a static domain for the checkbox?

So this isn't a question but I think it's very helpful, as I've had this problem ever since update 10 or so, even with resetting my Firefox profile so here's the fix
k so I use Stardock software's Windowsblinds on my x64 Win 7 laptop. I run Firefox with the "Awesomebar" disabled, I like my menus. Anyhow for the longest time I've had a problem where Firefox stops displaying my buttons, bubbles, checkboxes, and input lines along with some borders on a few pages, so today I finally figured out which options to check to make things work and look how it's supposed to
maybe your team could code some sort of detection for windowblinds and enable these options/settings automaticly
settings in about:config that I manually changed:

Not sure if all 3 are necessary or not but I fliped the 3 to the stated variables and Vwala I can see all my buttons, bubbles, checkboxes, and input lines

@ cor-el I tried it in the options menu quite a few times with seems that it just wasn't writing to the config file even though it said it was enabled/disabled. so I went straight to the config file and changed it manually but thank you for the input anyhow

You may want to check out using Adobe FormsCentral, Jotform, or Wufoo and inserting them via Object > Insert HTML as an alternative from the Muse forms, as those forms will have the lists, buttons, and checkboxes you're looking for.
Another way if you are publishing your site to Business Catalyst, then you can create forms in BC admin section and copy the form html in Muse page which will render the from that you have created in BC in your Muse site page.

Adjust position and size of textField and button...

I have the following sample program which has a few textFields and a button, but the positions are not good. How do I make the textField to be at the right of label and not at the bottom of the label ? Also how to adjust the length of textField and button ? The following form design looks ugly. Sorry but, i've never seen formula editor for altering position and size. If you know one please navigate me.
I guess you have updated formula editor beside "Lock size and position" - if yes its not right. There is only one editor beside 4 items and editor is actually for Suppress.
Anyways, A trick to change size a position is:
Create 4-5 copies (as many as you expect positions) of the text object. place each at different positions, right click, Format, Suppress and in formula editor for suppress write the formula: If your condition is true, Suppress=false, else true.
Position will not change but user will feel; for different conditions -position is changed

Checkbox and date/text feild

I need to create a form with a checkbox and a date/text feild in the same row. Is this possible?
An example is below:

[ check box ] name of document [date/text feild]

Sure - you can add fields adjacent an existing field using the "+" sign on the right side of the field to bring up the add field toolbar to add a field to the side. You can also do this through the right click menu item "Add field beside", and you can Drag and Drop fields where you want them by clicking on the left side of the field and holding the mouse button down while you drag it where you want it, a blue vertical bar shows where it will be placed, drag it to the right of a row to add it to the right of existing fields.

Checkbox and report page in new window

Hi team,
I have the following problem.
On a page I display a report where each row has a checkbox.
The user can check a row and press a button (button in region)to produce a more detailed report. I want to display this report in a new window. I know that I can use the javascript PopUpURL or PopUp2. The issue I have is that I have to process the checkbox with function htmldb_application.g_f01(i). I can't use that directly. So what I have done is create a hidden field and assign the return value of the formentioned function to it in a Page processing computation. The problem I hit is that page processing is/has not taken place. Therefor the call to the new page is missing a paramater because the hidden field is empty.

Try this and see if it works for you.
Also I would have changed the Checkbox to a Radio button group because this will limit the user to select only one row.

JTable Blank Rows When INSERT/DELETE in other panel with same ViewObject

Hi,
Jdev 10.1.2
JClient
2 panels based on same ViewObject in same AM
One panel with Grid UI => JTable
Other panel with Form UI
When I insert or delete a record in the panel with Form UI and return to the panel with JTable blank rows are displayed.
The problem remains even after commiting before returning to JTable panel.
When I activate the execute button in the JTable panel, the display is OK but the currency is lost.
I suppose calling the refresh method when returning to the JTable panel should solve the problem.
Can you please suggest me a server-side/model workaround:
refresh (which option to use ??)

PS I tried the workaround of thread 10.1.2 JClient binding Error. but that doesn't help.

Same problem with default wizard generated Master-Detail Form.
When in the detail more then 10 rows exist, the scrollbar shows that not all rows are displayed.
If I use the scrollbar to view the last rows they are blank, in order to display them I must activate the next button one time for each additional row.
The workaround is to enter -1 in the range size of the iterator.
But what if the range size is 10.
Is the blank rows display a bug?
OR
Must the scrolling area (size of JScrollPane) be defined according to the range size of the iterator?
If the latter is true:
Can somebody give me some clues on which attributes of the JScrollPane must be set (PreferredSize, MinimumSize ??) and on how to calculate this area: total width & total height if the row height for the table is set to 20?
