VedantI haven't tested this code; but the following can be your approach:
In the "Element Attributes" field of the 13th column, you can call a javascript function as:
onblur = "javascript:updateCols(this);"In your browser, right-click each of your columns (one at a time) and choose "inspect element" to check the HTML element attributes. Assuming that the 13th column in your tabular form is rendered in the HTML as f13, 14th column as f14, 15th column as f15 and 16th column as f16, write this JS function in the page HTML header:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
function updateCols(pThis)
    var vRow = pThis.id.substr(pThis.id.indexOf('_')+1);
   if (pThis.value.length > 0)
       $('#f14_'+vRow).attr('disabled',true);
       $('#f16_'+vRow).attr('disabled',true);
   else
       $('#f14_'+vRow).attr('disabled',false);
       $('#f16_'+vRow).attr('disabled',false);
</script>The above JS function is fired when the user tabs out of the 13th column. The function then checks the length of the value entered by the user in the 13th column. If the length is greater than 0, it disables the 14th and 15th columns. Else, it enables them.
The above code is for your first scenario:
If i enter value in field 13 then 14 and 16th column should disableYou can do the same for the other scenario.
Hope this is clear. Or else, give me access to your workspace and I can try the above there.

  • Not null and enable or disable  column in tabular form

    Hi,
    Using apex version 4.1 and working on tabular form.
    ACT_COA_SEGMENT_MAS is Master table
    and
    ACT_SEGMENT_VALUES_MAS is detail table
    I have entered 8 rows in master table and PARENT_SEGMENT_ID is column in master table which is null able. If i specified PARENT_SEGMENT_ID with value in master table then in detail table there is column PARENT_ID that should not be null and enable.
    How i can enable or disable column when in master table PARENT_SEGMENT_ID column is null then in detail table PARENT_ID column should disable and vice versa.
    I have created tabular form on Detail table. before insert into the tabular form Check in master table in first entry if PARENT_SEGMENT_ID is not null in first row of master table then in tabular form PARENT_ID should enable and not null able in corresponding to this first row id's lines in tabular form.
    Same should check for second row in master table if PARENT_SEGMENT_ID is not null then entered rows with PARENT_ID into tabular form corresponding to 2nd id in master table should not nullable and column should enable in tabular form.

    Vedant,
    You need to create you own manual tabular form and not use the wizard.
    Using APEX_ITEM api you should be build you own form and you will be able to control how you wan to display the rows. (See Link [Apex Item Help|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/doc.42/e35127/apex_item.htm#CACEEEJE] )
    select case when PRIMARY_TABLE_COLUMN is null then APEX_ITEM.DISPLAY_AND_SAVE(3 , DETAIL_COLUMN ) else APEX_ITEM.TEXT(2,detail_column) end "ALIAS" from detail table
    Hope that help.

  • Conditionally disable items in tabular form

    I built a tabular form . One of the column has dropdown called 'Type'. If users select type 'R' i want to disable 2 fields(text3 and text4) and in type is 'P' i want to disable other 2 fields(text5 and text6).
    I started off by including the foll. in the HTML header for page
    <script language="JavaScript1.1" type="text/javascript">
    function disableItem(pThis) {
    //alert(html_SelectValue(pThis));
    var l_soft = (html_SelectValue(pThis)== 'R');
    html_disableItems(l_soft,'TEXT3','TEXT4');
    </script>
    In the Column Definition of LOV, I added the onchange="javascript:disableItem(this);" for Element Attributes.
    The problem is, this code is disabling column header for TEXT3 and TEXT4 rather than disabling the fileds. Can someone help me to make this work.
    Thanks in advance.

    I'm using a similar thing in my app and it works fine. I have the disableFields() function in HTML header. Then in footer, I have something like:
    <script language = "javascript">
    if($x('type').value=="P" || $x('type').value=="R")
    {disableFields();}
    </script>
    Make sure the item named "type" is a select list with submit, and there is a page branch going to the same page. Also, in javascript, everything is case sensitive...make sure ur item names are in the proper case.

  • Use Javascript to disable fields in tabular form built by wizard

    i know this type of disable question has been asked before and i have searched the forum thoroughly but the solutions always seem to be for items i.e P1_NAME and i do not have these as my form is built by a select statement
    i have worked out the syntax (i think)
    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    function desactiverElement(item)
    var x = document.getElementById(item);
    if (x)
    x.disabled = true;
    </script>
    to disable and think it goes in the html header or a html region before footer but i cannot work out how to disable the field because i cannot work out how to reference them
    i.e get the value for 'item' in the code
    any help i would be extremely grateful for
    cheers Chris

    the CENTRE_NO field has to be unique , and when i am doing my validation check ,if the user amends the field by accident and then replaces the value it gets an error when it shouldn't
    wish it was as simple as forms just change property to update_allowed = false !!

  • Re-enable column values in tabular form before submit

    Hi,
    I am using Apex 4.1. I have a tabular form. I created a dynamic action to disable some of the columns on page load.
    It works fine and I am able to add new rows. But when I click submit, all the column values are null and it is throwing validation error.
    I need to enable all the columns before submit. I invoked a javascript to enable all the fields, but still i get the validation error.
    I also tried creating dynamic action to enable the values but still I get the validation error becuase the values are all null.
    Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks
    SR

    Per HTML standards, disabled items are not submitted. Therefore if they are disabled at the point of submit, their corresponding session state values will be null (as you discovered). Apex validates against what is is session state, not against what is on your screen, so since the values didn't get submitted (per standards for HTML disabled items) that's why Apex thinks they are null.
    Before submit, re-enable the items/columns and it should work fine.
    Edit: Sorry, looks like you are doing this already. But are you doing it in the right order?
    How I have done it is:
    1. Change the save/apply changes button (whatever is doing the submit) to call a URL.
    2. Make the URL call javascript, such as:
    javascript:formSave('SAVE');
    3. Put a javascript function on your region or page (hypothetical example):
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function formSave(pRequest)
    { //Put all checking and processing prior to form save here.
      var vRequest="SAVE"; //default value taken from orig. "apply changes" button
      if(pRequest)
        vRequest=pRequest;
      enableAllCells(gMaintActionCol); //Put whatever code you have to re-enable your tabular form items here, must fire before apex.submit.
      //Do the save
      apex.submit(vRequest);
    </script>Edited by: gti_matt on Dec 1, 2011 3:04 PM

  • Issue with checkbox on tabular form

    Hi (to all my friends in deperate times),
    I have a tabular form on a page, which i use for addition of record only. So it always displays me a blank row, which is ready to be inserted after user has filled in data and clicked submit button.
    Now I have a checkbox field on this tabular form. Since all the columns i show as null, I also show this checkbox as unchecked when page shows up. Here is the query for the source region of this form:
    SELECT null "Client",
    null "Currency",
    HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(40,'YES',null) critical_box,
    FROM dual
    I have used 'YES' as return value of this checkbox( when user has checked it, else i assume it will be not equal to 'YES').
    I have my own update process, which gets fired on click of 'Submit'.
    this is my insert clause in this update process:
    INSERT INTO table1
    (client, currency,critical_level)
    values
    (APEX_APPLICATION.g_f01(i), APEX_APPLICATION.g_f02(i), decode(APEX_APPLICATION.g_f40(i),'YES','YES','NO')
    Now problem is that when i click checkbox and save it, it adds record correctly. But when i dont click checkbox during insertion, at that i get error message that no data found. It should insert 'NO' for 3rd column when checkbox is not clicked.
    Please help here. Not sure why its giving no data found error when checkbox on tabular form is unchecked.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rave.

    Hi,
    In the linked thread, the solution was to provide a second, hidden, item that always returned a known value. This item, also created using the APEX_ITEM package, uses the same index number as your checkboxes - so, if your checkboxes use index 40 (to get "f40"), then the hidden item uses 40 as well. This way, we always get at least one value for each row and the last possible value in a row will be known.
    So, assume that the hidden item values are "NO", you have 10 rows on the page and the user ticks items 1, 2 and 5. The f40 items submitted would be:
    YES:NO:YES:NO:NO:NO:YES:NO:NO:NO:NO:NO:NO
    so, there will ALWAYS be 10 "NO" items and the YES item immediately before it will be the checkbox on the same row. So, if we loop through all f40 items, the YES values mean the checkbox and the NO values mean end-of-row - and, if we keep track of the NO values, we know which row we are on.
    So, the code to find the data in f01 and f02 relating to the the YES values (the checked checkboxes) would be something like:
    DECLARE
    vROW NUMBER;
    vF01VALUE VARCHAR2(100);
    vF02VALUE VARCHAR2(100);
    BEGIN
    vROW := 1; // current row number
    FOR x IN 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F40.COUNT
    LOOP
      IF APEX_APPLICATION.G_F40(x) = 'NO' THEN
       vROW := vROW + 1; // end of the row, so move to next row
      ELSE
       // found a checkbox, so get related data
       vF01VALUE := APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(vROW); // f01 item on the same row as the checked item
       vF02VALUE := APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02(vROW); // f02 item on the same row as the checked item
      END IF;
    END LOOP;
    END;Andy

  • Tabular forms, referencing current row and using checkboxes

    I've searched through the whole forum and read over 50 threads on referencing other columns in a tabular form only to find this impossible. Many of these threads were outdated so I would like to ask it again.
    Can I use references between columns of tabular forms? So that value of one column equals the other's. (select a, b from c where d=othercolumn)
    How can I get a workaround for lack of checkboxes in dynamically created tabular forms? (Standard tabular forms come with checkboxes for deleting multiple rows, can they be used in the same way but without writing manual reports?)
    Please do not send me to
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=18326:54:17962256093711784584::::P54_ID:1282
    I am looking for strictly dynamic, apex-like solution. Thanks in advance.

    That supposed to be a query for LOV, should have mentioned that probably. By dynamically created tabular form I mean the wizard-created form which transforms query results into a form on the fly. I consider the HTMLDB_ITEM-style the manual way. After all, I'll probably stick to the manual method because I am creating this form on a view with INSTEAD OF triggers so the processing still needs to be done separately.
    The question I asked referred to the internals of tabular forms' processing, behind the screen wizards there has to be some loop based on the query, I just wanted to reference other columns on the current iteration. (wwv.g_f01(0) ?...)

  • Dynamic actions and tabular forms

    I'm trying to attach a dynamic action to a tabular form item, and it's not working the way I'm expecting it to. Since you can't attach dynamic actions to parts of a tabular form in the "normal" way that you can for page items, I'm using JQuery selectors to pick the parts to link to. For links (such as opening a pop-up window with more information about a row), this is working fine. But I'm really struggling to attach to a simple checkbox.
    On my tabular form, I've got a simple checkbox. I've tried putting text in the Element Attributes, Element Option Attributes, CSS Class, CSS Style, and HTML Expression fields, but none of them appear to be making it through to the source code of the generated page. Which means, I think, that I'm limited to using a jQuery Selector along the lines of "input[name=f07]", but creating a dynamic action on click or on change with that selector doesn't seem to ever fire.
    What am I missing?
    -David

    Ok, this is interesting. When I tried to mock this up on apex.oracle.com, I was able to make it work (though I had to change the selector to "input[name=f07_NOSUBMIT]", which means I'm going to have to walk the DOM to get the actual value...but I'm pretty sure I can handle that). After a bit of scratching my head, I eventually found that my pop-up dynamic action was somehow or other blocking the checkbox dynamic action from firing. Changing the sequence so that the checkbox DA happens first allows them both to fire.
    Here's the javascript from the pop-up DA (it's based on this post by Havard Kristiansen):
    /* prevent default behavior on click */
    var trgt = this.triggeringElement.href;
    var e = this.browserEvent;
    e.preventDefault();
    /* Trigger JQuery UI dialog */
    var horizontalPadding = 30;
    var verticalPadding = 30;
    $('<iframe id="modalDialog" src="' + trgt + '" />').dialog({
         title: "Item Details",
         autoOpen: true,
         width: 570,
         height: 400,
         modal: true,
         close: function(event, ui) {$(this).remove();},
         overlay: {
              opacity: 0.5,
              background: "black"}
    }).width(570 - horizontalPadding).height(400 - verticalPadding);
    return false;At this point, the checkbox DA's action is simply an alert box. Like I said, I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm at least able to move forward...

  • Date enable and disable in tabular form

    Hi All,
    i have date column in tabular form.
    when date column contain null value then it is enable to insert date.
    if it is not null then disable to insert date.
    how to achieve it.
    Please give me suggestion.
    Thanks,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
    You have to know the name of the date column field using 'Developer Tool' of the browser (Click F12).
    You can achieve this by Dynamic Action as below,
    Event: Page Load
    Action: Execute JavaScript Code
    Code:
    $('input[name="f06"]').each( function(i) {
    var v_row= $(this).attr("id").substr(4);
      var v_val= $('#f06_'+v_row).val();
        var v_id= $('#f06_'+v_row).attr("id");
       if(v_val=='')
        $x(v_id).readOnly = "readonly";
        $x(v_id).style.background = "#F2F2F5";
       $($('td[headers="HIREDATE"] img')[i]).addClass('apex_disabled');
    Here f06 is the name of the date column i.e. HIREDATE. This code will disable the date column if it is NULL also disable the Calendar popup. Change this code according to your requirement.
    It will help you.
    Thanks

  • Enable/disable/defaulting the radio button in tabular Form

    Hi friends,
    I have one radio button column in my tabular form with 3 values for it.
    <li>FC
    <li>BC
    <li>EC
    I need to enable/disable the radio buttons according to the position of the user.
    If the position of the user is CEO means,
    then FC radio button has to be checked defaultly and also for him he needs to have BC and EC radio buttons to be enabled.
    If the position of the user is between(1-4) grades means,
    then FC radio button has to be disabled, but BC radio button has to be checked defaultly and also for him he needs to have EC radio buttons to be enabled.
    If the position of the user is between(4-6) grades means,
    then FC, BC radio button has to be disabled, but EC radio button has to be checked defaultly.
    How i can achieve this radio button enabling/disabling and defaulting it dynamically according to the user.
    Where i need to specify this kind of restriction inorder to work for me in my application.
    Brgds,
    Mini

    Hi Bob,
    thanks for your reply first, and your suggestion too.
    I tried in the below manner on the lov definition of my radio button and it hide/shown according to the user who logs into the application.
    SELECT 'FC' d, 'FC' r FROM DUAL WHERE lower(:APP_USER) = (select lower(user_name) from apps.xxhy_ams_details_v where upper(job_name) = 'CEO')
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 'BC' d, 'BC' r FROM DUAL WHERE lower(:APP_USER) IN (select lower(user_name) from apps.xxhy_ams_details_v where grade_name
    BETWEEN 1 and 4 OR lower(:APP_USER) = (select lower(user_name) from apps.xxhy_ams_details_v where upper(job_name) = 'CEO'))
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 'EC' d, 'EC' r FROM DUALBut how i can check the radio button defaultly according to the user who logs in .
    <li> If the employee with the position CEO logs into the application means, he needs to have FC to be checked defaultly.
    <li> If the employee with the grade between(1-4) logs into the application means, he needs to have BC to be checked defaultly.
    <li> If the employee with the grade between(5-12) logs into the application means, he needs to have EC to be checked defaultly.
    Note:
    Instead of hide/show the radio buttons defaultly whether it is possible to enable/disable the radio button according to the user who logs into the application.

    Select List having 2 items ... Add Text(return value 1) and No Text(return value 2)
    if value =1 then i want to enable text box , so user can enter value.
    if value=2 then text box won't allow to add text or will become disalbe.
    Please Help
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You can do this by using a small java script
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    function FldEnableDisable(pThis)
    if (pThis == 50)
      $x('P2_TEXT').disabled=true;}
    else
    { $x('P2_TEXT').disabled=false; }
    //-->
    </script>Here P2_Text is the text box whose value I am enabling or disabling based on the selected value from a List box. On The list box I have onChange="javascript:FldEnableDisable(this.value)" ( You can specify this under HTML Form Element Attributes)

  • Select list enable / disable in tabular form

    Hi,
    I have created report on (ACT_COA_SEGMENT_MAS) table and this is master table , and created link on this report, when i click on report link, control moves to tabular form that is based on detail table (ACT_SEGMENT_VALUES_MAS)
    In master table there is column,
    SEGMENT_ID number primary key;
    QUALIFIER varchar2(1);
    If in master table qualifier column value is 'N' then
    then in detail table (ACT_SEGMENT_VALUES_MAS) column account type cannot be null and column should enable.

    How i can do this?One way - sadly a bit of work - would be to use APEX_APPLICATION_ITEM to generated the detail items as a manual tablular form where you can control the disabled property when generating the tabular form fields using CASE statements, writing manual PL/SQL processes and the built-in APEX_ITEM collection to manually perform insert/update/delete operations on submit. Check the documentation for the full syntax of using APEX_ITEM functions to generate HTML items.
    An example from the Oracle docs looks like
    SELECT
      empno,
      APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(1,empno)||
      APEX_ITEM.TEXT(2,ename) ename,
      APEX_ITEM.TEXT(3,job) job,
      mgr,
      APEX_ITEM.DATE_POPUP(4,rownum,hiredate,'dd-mon-yyyy') hiredate,
      APEX_ITEM.TEXT(5,sal) sal,
      APEX_ITEM.TEXT(6,comm) comm,
      deptno
    FROM emp
    ORDER BY 1where the disabled property could be specified in the unlisted fifth argument to APEX_ITEM.TEXT. The first item to the APEX_ITEM calls is a number defining the G_FXX global variables so that 1 identifies the item later as apex_application.g_f01(9) - 9 being symbolic for a collection identifier -, ename as apex_application.g_f02(i),m and so on. The G_F99 items can be reference on submission in Pl/SQL processes through looping, something like (this example assumes all array items are populated - under some circumstances they may not be)
    for i in 1..apex_application.g_f01.count loop
      update my_table set sal = apex_application.g_f05(i) where empno = apex_application.g_f01(i);
    end loop;Edited by: riedelme on Jan 11, 2013 7:12 AM
