-checkconfig in WebDispatcher installed in only PURE JAVA

Hi All,
I'm trying to run a test by installing webdispatcher on only JAVA system and having this problem when initate -checkconfig in webdispatcher. Please refer to the below error message when i run sapwebdisp pf=" " -checkconfig.

  • We have applications that can only use Java 6.x. Java 7 is not supported. Can Java 6.x be installed on OS X 7 and 8?

    Our workplace (a large research university) uses both Win and Mac based desktops/laptops. We are about to deploy an enterprise-wide ERP system whose components are web-based. The components the components are support I.E. & Firefox browsers, so this is not a problem for the Mac OS X users. The components only support Java 6.x. Users of OS X 10.6.x and lower can use Java 6.x since Apple supports this. However, OS X 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion) seem to only support Java 7.x which is not supported by our new ERP system.
    Is it possible to install Java 6.x on OS X 10.7 and 10.8 desktops/laptops?  I've viewed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5493 but that doesn't specifically answer this question.

    Mac OS X 10.6 and lower has Java 6.x as part of the operating system and does not need to be separately installed (nor CAN it be separately installed).
    Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8 (“Lion” and “Mountain Lion”) do not have Java in the operating system. Therefore, users who need Java must go to java.com and install it themselves. However, only Java 7.x can be installed.
    Upgrading from OS X 10.6 or lower to OS X 10.7 or 10.8 turns off Java (since it was part of the older OS which the user is replacing with a new OS). However, it seems that the older version of Java is still there, simply turned off. Running a bash shell (UNIX) script (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5559) can remove Java 7.x and re-activate Java 6 to the latest version, Java 6.37. But this only works if the Mac ever had 6.x in the first place (i.e., was running OS X 10.6 or older).
    Newer Macs (purchased after July 2011) came with OS X 7.x (“Lion”); after July 2012, 8.x (“Mountain Lion”). It may not be possible to install Java 6.x on these models without downgrading to OS X 6.x (10.6.8 is the latest version) which runs Java 6.37 for Mac.
    An alternative is to configure your desktop/laptop as dual boot (e.g., with Paralles or Fusion VM) so you can run Windows-7 for apps that must use Java 6.x or, alternately, have OS X 10.6 and OS X 10.7 or higher on the same machine.

  • JavaFX Visual GUI Builder - not using FXML - only based on pure Java

    The decision to provide a pure Java based JavaFX API activates the pure Java people who where FXML resistent in the past.
    JavaFX is the future ... the last few month when I check the new possibilities I came slowly but surely to this opinion...
    The Scene Build is still based on FXML. So ... for the pure Java developer there is no advantage to use it ... only to see what components are available in the JavaFX standard I see no advantage for me to use it. I won't create JavaFX clients based on FXML.
    What's the future plan...is there a Project in the World who want to provide a Visual GUI Builder who produce pure Java based JavaFX Code like Eclipse Window Builder do it for Swing or SWT or JBuilder for Swing many years ago.
    That's the main reason that JavaFX get successful in the future. A software architect who has to decide using JavaFX as the new Company Standard...will never do it without stomachache.
    Do I miss some news?
    Is there are NetBeans Version who can do it or a plugin I don't now?

    I don't think you are getting it, or just making a big deal about it.
    Currently SceneBuilder is connected to Netbeans using the FXML. It's not hard at all, nor is there a big issue. In the next few years Scenebuilder will be in Netbeans integrated, so it will be just like the swing gui builder. FX is still new, from a scripting lang, to a super powerful lang. FXML uses so little code.... Also you can do things either with, or without FXML, FXML IS NOT NEEDED IN FX AT ALL, only limited on Scene Builder.

  • Generate a thumbnail from HTML by pure Java on Linux without Graphics

    hi - we in a requirement where we have to generate thumbnails from HTML code. The solution must be implemented in pure Java on Linux where there is no graphics support.
    Options tried already are :--
    1. 3rd party websites - rolled out by our client.
    2. Paid products - rolled out by our client
    3. Media Tracker and other java API - no luck as there is no support after HTML 4.0
    4. Using any os dependent native library - rolled out by our client.
    5. Lobo browser - but having troubles like it opens the browser before screenshot is taken, sometimes. Gone through by putting Thread.sleep() in between and saving remote images into a local html file etc. We got some success in there but problem doesn't end here.
    Questions -
    1. In the point # 5 above, our Linux server had graphics support but in code we set the system property java.awt.headless= true before capturing and generating thumbnail. My question is, if we set this property in the code then does it mean 100% that our code will not use any graphics support, if present in the underlying OS?
    2. Is this really possible to generate images in java on Linux where there is no X window/X server installed? Are we just wasting time in order to achieve which is unachievable?
    Any suggestions are most welcome.

    Thanks for ur response! Yeah - we tried but requirements are little different. We have HTML that we have to first render. Whatever output comes, we have to take a screenshot. So in order to render the html we have to have a browser first and I believe every OS which is providing browser support is having Graphics capabilities because browser would have frames, windows, toolbars, menubars etc which fall under Graphics.
    The above way is the only way that I know. If there are another way which ofcourse doesn't require graphics support, please let me know.
    So the question basically is - if I follow above mentioned image (like opening browser and capture screenshot) then is it possible on Linux with no graphics support? Actually I read on internet that lobo browser (written in java) supports this kind of feature.

  • Could not load mediaLib accelerator wrapper classes. Continuing in pure Jav

    Can anyone provide an explanation/solution to the following error message:
    "Could not load mediaLib accelerator wrapper classes. Continuing in pure Java mode."

    This problem seems to occur if only the JAI JAR files are installed without the native DLL's. Is there some property that can be passed in to JAI so that it doesn't look for the DLL's? The lookup is causing quite a delay in initial server response time. We don't want to include the DLL's since they are a big pain for our customers to install and the performance issue is not a concern.

  • JGL... java opengl, glut, glu written in pure java no jni

    this is a project started by Robin Bing-Yu Chen at http://graphics.im.ntu.edu.tw/~robin/jGL/ .. it contains the opengl calls , glut calls and glu calls that we know form glut and opengl api used in C/C++ and JOGL. the api is written in pure java and no jni, so it only requires the public jre to run.
    oh, it also GPL , so it is free for any one to use in open source or commercial applications.
    the api is greate, if it re-written using java2D calls then we could see performance similar to those in JOGL or java3D api .. as java2D uses d3d or opengl under the hood + there will be no jni calls from the api as it is written in pure java, so no jni overhead.
    now that java is GPL2, i really hope that such api will be soon part of the public jre. this will make java platform ready with 3D api without the need to install jogl or java3D.. also JGL can run in software mood if opengl or d3d is not supported on host machine , again because it is written in pure java .
    please check it out.. and comment.. i hope this api will soon become part of java by default :).

    I finally solved the problem.
    In C++ code, I declared array with huge length (10thousand...) in static way. I changed that to dynamicly created array using operator new, and now everything works perfect.

  • Webdispatcher redirect load to the Java AS

    Hi all,
    we have a BI java instance (Pure Java) running on a server, and another Java Application server running on another server.
    i've installed a webdispatcher to distribute the load of incoming requests between the Two.
    Now, what we want to implement is to have all the incoming request be redirected to the Application server. all the incoming HTTP to not be handled by the central instance.
    any way to do this on the webdispatcher or however other method ?

  • JVM 1.4 seg faults with pure java code?

    Has anybody else seen JVM 1.4 seg fault when running pure java code? This seems like it shouldn't be possible, but I get the following at indeterminate times. Unfortunately, it is difficult to isolate since decreasing the size of the program avoids the problem. When the seg fault happens, the size in memory is ~1GB and there is plenty of real and virtual memory to spare.

    I've read that,

    Does this mean I could run mapviewer on Tomcat instead of OC4J?

    Great question. Although it's technically possible to run MapViewer on a non-Oracle J2EE container (others have certainly done this), MapViewer is licensed with Oracle Application Server. Hence, even in a Tomcat environment, you would be legally obligated to purchase licenses of Oracle Application Server to run MapViewer in production. That said, as far as support streams go, Oracle can really only support MapViewer installations and configurations on supported platforms. So, if you have installation/configuration issues while running on a non-Oracle platform, you would most likely have to find your own answers from chat boards and forums. Hope this helps.

    Glassfish fits well for what we have to do (stateful session beans), but we have to do it on HP-UX ...

    I assume you use LB's FDQN name (am.example.com) as your certificate's CN. You should be having the hostnames of AMs as am1.example.com, am2.example.com respectively. You would have placed the certificate of am.example.com in both the boxes. At some point of time one of the AM instances need to contact the other one for session validation, because it is a load balanced environment. Moreover user's session and agent's session might not be in the same AM instance always. During this time it has to do a session validation with the other one. When doing session validation the requestor AM will not go through the LB, rather it will directly reach out to the other AM instance. Say AM1 is contacting AM2 for session validation. So AM1 will use the hostname as am2.example.com to hit AM2. But in AM2 you have the certificate placed in the name of LB (am.example.com). Obviously AM2 will not accept this request as the hostname and the certifcate's CN is different. I understand you have turned trustAllServerCerts to true in AMConfig, but in 7.1 it will not work as expected. I guess you would have installed AM7.1 as a WAR file deployment. If you go to product support they would insist you to re-install the AM through JES package. Because according to them this parameter (trustAllServerCerts) will be evaluated correctly if you have AM installed by JES. Though I don't fully agree with this solution, this is the suggested one from support. Even though if you re-install AM with JES and enable trustAllServerCerts, then that is not the recommended solution for production. Because enabling this parameter to true is a security risk, especially if you interact with external applications.
    So as an alternative you could try using "SubjectAltNames" for your certificates. Include FQDNs of both AM instances in the certificate and add it in the keystore. This will work.

    Is Eclipse a 100% pure Java program?

    Eclipse runs on linux, windows, MAc OS X and I think a few others. It has native widgets via SWT for those platforms using the native OS Look and Feel. It is smoother than Swing in most ways, yet Swing does have some advantages as well. SWT is a nice kit. It would be nice if the Swing Team took the idea of building a cross platform native GUI kit into the AWT/Swing layer so that Swing was even faster. I think Swing and SWT are great, only I wish Swing had provided what SWT does (in some ways) so that Swing would have been used and SWT never written. It's a shame, but then again, perhaps it promotes the Swing Team to make Swing better/faster.
    Look at Swing on Mac OS X, it is very nice, looks like native OS (because Apple wrote their own L&F for Mac OS X Only), but it is faster than Swing on Windows/Linux.

    Another possibility might be the J2EE implementation itself.
    In the code for j2sdkee1.2.1, the error you see appears to originate in the checkJVMVersion method of com.sun.enterprise.util.Utility:
