Checking for running programs using a abap program

Is there a way in ABAP to detect from within a program that another process is running the same program? Meaning if PROG1 is running, could PROG1 check to see if another process is running program PROG1?

Use the locking concept. You can either create your own, or a popular one to use is ESINDX, passing parameters: relid 'ZZ', SRTFD program name, and SRTF2 = 0.
The logic is:
Attempt to get lock (FM ENQUEUE_ESINDX, perhaps).
If lock got -> run program
If lock not got -> quit.
You have to put this logic at the start of your program.

Hi FI Masters,
i have a zprint prog ex : ZRFFOZA_H2H. i copied this prog and given a transaction(ZRFFOZA_H2H_FI tcode : ZFI_H2H ) and run to see the results where it works fine.
but....
payment method can be linked to only one print program and in this test case payment method M is linked to ZRFFOZA_H2H, so now the problem is that the new transaction code ZFI_H2H is built on program ZRFFOZA_H2H_FI and the system refuses to run.
when i see the message it shows like this...
The list of payment methods (M) may only be processed by other payment medium programs.
now how can i bypass this check for this program only?
can i have some info please....

hi FI masters,
to be more clear to the above quetion,
i have 2 zprog for the Payment run
for the Payment method 'M' i have z prog ZRFFOZA_H2H which is configued
again i have made a copy of above prog to ZRFFOZA_H2H_FI and run the payment run for the Payemnt method 'M'.
Now it gives me a message : Payment method(s) are not allowed for this program.
since below copy prog not configed we get this message.
NOW : What can i do to bypass this check for this program only
can i have some info pls?

Syntax check for inactive programs(object)

I am having some program in internal table now i have to do syntax check for the programs, actually I can use SLIN but SLIN will not do Syntax check if the object is not active, is there any way that I can check for many programs one after the other.

Authorisation check for Object F_BL_BANK using transaction F110

Hi
Can you help me with transaction F110. The object F_BL_BANK has been linked on SU24 to transaction F110. It has also been set for Check/maintain.
There is no authorisation check for this object using F110.
How can we resolve the issue.

it works, can see the clock.
then go to dowloaded oracle, run

I am trying to Install Oracle 10g R2 on Solaris X86 32 bit
I am connecting to system from my windows vista laptop through putty... I get the following error...

I have done the following:-

I know that I have to do the following:-
1. Install SUNWxwplt package ========> Is already Installed
2. Set DISPLAY variable

Reboot the device and see if the error happens again. Updating through iTunes is usually optimal, but the file size differs via Software Update on the device and iTunes (50MB vs ~800MB)

Check system for running program

I'm putting together a java application that is supposed to lunch another program (matlab). However I need to first check to see if the program has been started from outside my java application. Is there any way to queery the system to find out if there is a program running.

Thanks for the hints, I'm now trying to query the windows Task manager to find out if there is an active copy of the matlab application running.
On your suggestion to check for a matlab API, I have looked into thier supported API functions but they are all beta and rather buggy.

Log for running programs

Given a program name, is there a way for me to check if it has already been executed?
There is a number of conversion programs that are recommended by SAP to run after upgrade and I would like to aviod running them twice for fear of negative impact.

Hope you can check it through the Table CDHDR or CDPOS with the Transaction name or Use the Transaction RSSCD100 and give the appropriate Object Class and check for the Execution date if it has created/Change entry done before.

Cannot write the suitable source codes for running program

I want to write a program that help student to compile program and run program by using some test cases. For the compiled part, i have been wrote it successfully, but for the run part, i cannot pass the test cases to the program for running. Whats the error message??
Just a guess, but could be (without seeing the error) that you've already closed the TestCaseBuf reader by closing the result set, hence when you go to read it, you're reading on closed reader.
Give this a go...Put the // code into the result set while loop

If you want to have only certain users to be able to do certain operations, then you need to assign the appropriate roles to those users!
First find the role
second add the user in the role ( PFCG T code---> USers tab)

DO NOT try to scan, it won't work anyway and you do not have a virus as getting a virus on an iPad is pretty much impossible. To close this screen in Safari, click on the double box and all open Safari pages will show up and you just tap the x over the offending page and the page will close. Or, go to settings and clear the cache. If none of this works, reboot your iPad by holding the power and home buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds until the Apple Logo appears, then let go.

2. Is it possible to check for the time spent in the call if it is more then say 500 sec then it should be considered as timeout?

you can catch CX_AI_SYSTEM_FAULT.
DATA:   lo_sys_exception TYPE REF TO cx_ai_system_fault,
l_error_text type string.
CALL METHOD ...
CATCH cx_ai_system_fault INTO lo_sys_exception.
l_error_text = lo_sys_exception->errortext.
You can configure XI timeout parameter (for shure in SMICM / Parameter and, if i remeber right, as profile parameter in XI administration).

Checking for running applications on remote machines

I am trying to check for application running on remote machine - it could be LV or some other application.
I have Server and Client applications (developed in LV) running as .exe on separate computers. Only LV-Runtime is installed. They exchange data via Datasockets. The problem I have is that if Client is launched before the server the (Client) takes ownership of certain sockets which causes Server to fail on startup. All the remote Clients have to be shotdown before Server can be started again properly.
I was wondering if anyone has run into a similar problem.

I would suggest using Remote Front Panels in LabVIEW. Remote front panels allow you to view and control a VI front panel remotely, either from within LabVIEW or from within a web browser, by connecting to the LabVIEW built-in web server. There is a tutorial Developer Zone: Remote Panels in LabVIEW -- Distributed Application Development that will provide you with more information.
Also, there are example programs in LabVIEW that walk you through how to programmatically connect to a remote front panel. Go to LabVIEW >> Help >> Find Examples >> Networking >> General >> RemotePanelMethods-Client/Server.vi.
