Checking Forms and Reports dependency

Hi, all,
Is there any way to check the database object referenced by a form or a report without openning the form or report in developer? I could compile the form or report with an empty database but the error messages would be tedious to parse.

Well, it depends on the number of concurrent users and appln/database size
We have a solaris box where we have installed 10g AS and 10gDB with RAM of 8GB and hard disk 350 GB
It works fine and we have around 25 concurrent users

Well, what you need will depend on what you are doing and which Forms/Reports version you want. In general, "Forms" and "Reports" are no longer stand-alone products. They are integrated into Application Server (Fusion Middleware). So, you will end up installing more than just "Forms" or "Reports" no matter what you do. This is more true of Fusion Middleware 11. In version 10, the installation was a little lighter weight.
So, you can download Fusion Middleware 11 from here:

Look for the download titled Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer (11.1.1.2.0) . The one labeled "11.1.1.3" is not a fully product, it is a patch for 11.1.1.2. Normally we would not put patches on OTN, but this was an exception. The FMw installation will also require WebLogic Server to be installed first. Refer to the installation guide for details. Links to all the documentation is on the top of the download page.

Oracle Forms and Reports Installation - Creating domain failed

I installed the weblogic 10.3.6 (Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.6) + Coherence + OEPE - Package Installer) in my Microsoft Windows(32-bit JVM) system first.
But there was an error occorred when the package of forms and reports (Oracle Forms and Reports 11gR2 (11.1.2.2.0)) was installing.
Please find the following error message for your reference.

on windows there are some steps in front of installation and configuration.
1) cleare the Windows Env (Path .. Programme x86 )
no Blank in Path and so on
2) insert into your local host file your server and IP Adress
3) in Windows 32 setup of WLS is JDK included so you don't have to install the jdk in front of WLS
4) verify if you are using the right installation medium (jdk 32 bit, wls 32 bit , fmw 32 bit
in your OraInventory/logs directory is a *.out file for your installation please can you put this file in the forum

How to install Discoverer 11g on Web Logic Server with Forms and Reports 11g Rel2

Hello,
We finally started to migrate from Oracle iAs 10g Release 2 to Oracle Forms and Reports 11g Release 2 using Web Logic. I don't see an option to install Discoverer on the server.
My OS: windows 2008 R2
Installed Web Logic 10.3.6
Forms & Reports: 11.1.2.2.0_64 (64 Bit Forms)
How do I install Discoverer Plus in 11g? All I can find is Discoverer 11g Desktop/Administrator to run on User work Station. We were using discoverer Plus in 10g iAS.

How to uninstall Forms and Reports 6 from XP?

Dear Experts,
I have an XP machine.
On it, is Oracle DB 11.2. As well, there is Oracle Forms and Reports 6i. From the start, programs menu, there are:
Oracle for Windows NT
Oracle Forms and Reports 6I
Oracle Forms and Reports 6I doc
Oracle OLAP client 2.2
Oracle Reports 6I
Oracle Reports 6I Admin
I notice that it seems to be running as service. I can find the process id / PID with sysinternals. PID is: 1364, services.exe(876). Some of the files/processes are:
NL80.DLL, SQLNET. Ora805.dll. All under c:\oracle\reports6
But I can't figure out which service it is, when I look at the windows services. Although the command line is:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs
When I go to uninstall forms and reports using OUI, I see two Oracle homes.
OraDb11G_home1
DEFAULT_HOME
Reports is listed under DEFAULT_HOME. But unlike OraDb11G_home1, in DEFAULT_HOME, there are no check boxes at all to select these products to uninstall.

Without uninstalling the database, how can I uninstall forms and reports?
2)
How can I tell which service is running forms and reports?

You can delete these items directly from Start menu and this is the first step :
Oracle for Windows NT
Oracle Forms and Reports 6I
Oracle Forms and Reports 6I doc
Oracle OLAP client 2.2
Oracle Reports 6I
Oracle Reports 6I Admin
The second step : Delete the home of developer6i from registry
And the third : Delete the directory (orant) which the contents of forms and reports 6i are stored in (c:\orant by default)
When I want to delete forms and reports 6i I follow these steps above.

How do you switch back and forth from Chinese and english in forms and reports 6i? Tried changing regional settings in the control panel. Tried changing registry entry for nls_lang from american and chinese, none of them work! Can anyone help?
Chinese version of forms and reports 6i is installed. Only way I can change between english and chinese is to keep installing the version I want. Is there any other way?

I have tried running Forms/Reports 6i servers on Solaris 8. It was different than using the 9iAS EE forms/reports services - but the concept is similar. I also used whitepapers that I downloaded from Metalink which were explaining the client/server and the web form design differences (such as when-mouse tringgers won't work in web forms, etc).

Problem hiding userid etc in cookie using 10.1.2.0.2 Forms and Reports

Background
I am new to 10.1.2.0.2 Forms and Reports and also to Application Server - though not to Oracle forms and reports. We are currently converting from 6i.
Due to security concerns we would very much like to use the FrmReportsInteg Bean (or like) to hide userid connect string in a temporary and encrypted cookie when trying to run a report from a form (and the report has a report parameter screen that we want to display).
Firstly I have to decide how we are going to use reports via the Developer Suite -for development work. Then I have to work out how to do it via the Application Server - for testing and production. So if you have two variations of any solutions - one for DS and one for AS, could you give both please?
Problem
Problem is that I cannot get the bean to work. I get report parameter form displaying ok, hit submit and then get the Database User Authentication window poppling up with the "REP-51018: Need database user authentication" error that I've noticed a few other people in this forum have had too. If the user id etc is then entered in this window, the report parameter form redisplays (from a second html) and submitting this causes the report to display. Don't like the Database User Authentication window poppling up and don't like the second parameter form - html for this has the userid etc in it.
For me though I can't even get the bean to output any logs. Got any ideas to help me at least output some logs?
Also do I have to do anything to the browser (IE6) to get it to read the cookies?
Do I need to change the bean code for the DS in some way - eg to avoid using domain name (as I noticed in another thread)?
My code exactly follows the whitepaper and I also carefully followed the instructions for adding the bean to the form and configuring the forms services - as per white paper.

I told you where to find the last update, I checked that version yesterday, the last update is 10.1.2.3, my misstake was to put a 0 before the 3.
You can go to Patches & update>Quick Links to: Latest Patchsets, Mini Packs and Maintenance Packs>Oracle Fussion Middle Ware> Look for you OS versión and CPU> No clic just put pointer over the links and you will see the last one.
And finaly could look for the CPU of Jul and Apr that as requirement they ask for version 10.1.2.3 (as I say I checked yesterday)

i wanted to install oracle forms and reports on a machine where only a Oracle client is installed. Is a weblogic server really required? what i wanted to do was just to migrate rdf reports which we are using with an oracle 6 runtime. Is that possible or do we have to make the reports new?

When you say that you want to install oracle 11g.x then Weblogic is manadatory.
check support matrix for specific verision of WLS support on your required Forms and Reports installation.

10g Forms and Reports Only

I am trying to use the Forms and Report Services only install on a RedHat AS3 server. I have been through all of the pre-configuration for Application server and feel that all the requirements have been met.
When I run the "runInstaller" program I receive an error
": bad interpreter: No such file or directory"
I would assume that this was reference to the script not finding /bin/sh which is really redirected to /bin/bash.
I created a test script:

if [ -f /bin/sh ] ; then
echo "We Have Shell"
fi
exit
I ran this using the same oracle user at the same prompt and it worked. So this leads me to believe that the bash interpreter is working correctly.
Any thoughts on what the problem is? Do I have to install a piece of the Application Server first in order to install the Forms and Reports module?

Can you check if the 'runInstaller' is a dos format file (with CR LF)?
You can also try 'sh runInstaller' and see if that works.

How to upgrade jdk in standalone forms and reports 10.1.2

hi all
i have forms and reports services standalone 10.1.2.0 can any one help me how to upgrade default jdk to jdk 6

Install JDk6 somewhere else. Rename ORACLE_HOME/jdk to jdk1.4. Create jdk folder in ORACLE_HOME and copy contents of JDK1.6 into jdk.
But before doing this, check with oralce whether this is compatible. Oracle 0.1.2 supplied JDK is 1.4

Login problem in oracle form and reports......

Ii have installed oracle10g database edition...
Then i installed oracle10g forms and reports
i've altered and created login username and password in oracle10g database edition...
when i try to give username and password in oracle sqlplus it show error TNS:could not resolve the connect.....
please help me.....

You need to create an entry in your Tnsnames.ora file which would be located in <FormsHome>/Net80/Admin.
ORCL_Test =
(DESCRIPTION =
   (ADDRESS_LIST =
     (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = YourServerName)(Port = ServerPort))
(CONNECT_DATA =
   (SERVICE_NAME = DBNameOnServer)
)In above, specify the IP Address or server name for HOST and specify the ServerPort on which Oracle Listner is configured. It would be something like 1521 depending on your DB configuration. And in the SERVICE_NAME specify the Oracle Instance name which would be something similar to ORCL. Save the file and you are ready to connect through this new entry.
While connecting to Forms/Reports, give the Database as ORCL_Test. You can name it anything in TNSNAMES.ORA.
