Child table provisioning to SQL using DBAT

I have a Multivalued attribute named 'AuthzIds' coming from Sun LDAP thru target reconciliation. I wanted to provision this value to SQL's 'MyAuthz' table (Child of MyUser table) using GTC - DBAT.
USR table -> already provisioned to -> MyUser table
UD_AUTHZ table -> to be provisioned to -> MyAuthZ table.
How will I make this child table provisioning work ? Do I have to write any custom adapter ? I see a task 'Child Table UD_MYAUTHZ row inserted" task in SQL_GTC process, which uses a adpSQL_GTC adapter.
Thanks!
Kabi

After Create User User, you'll have to add one more task which will read the data from iplanet user form and add in Child Table using Form APIs.*
You are suggesting to add a dependent-task to GTC-Process's "create user" task. Is my understanding correct ?
If yes, this may not work for the following reason.
I assume GTC task 'create User' invoked when the use is created in SQL. In my use case, users are created in SQL thru auto provisioning during 'iPlanet trusted Recon'. The SQL child table 'MuAuthz' suppose to be provisioned with child data when I run 'iPlanet Target Recon' (not 'trusted Recon'). Because 'target Recon' brings the mutlivalue attribute AuthzId to iPlanet resource UD_AUTHZ table (already associated to OIM Users). I run the 'iPlanet Target Recon' separately after successful completion of 'trustes recon'. So create user may not be the appropriate place for adding this dependent task, since there will be no child data available to OIM user after 'trusted recon' .
Another question related to this. I see few tasks like "Child Table UD_MYAUTHZ row inserted/ updated/ deleted" in GTC process. What are these tasks used for ?

  • Create Partition tables in PL/SQL using Execute Immediate

    Hi
    I have to create a partiton table in PL/SQL using Execute Immediate. I concat the necessary Create Table syntax into a variable and use Execute Immediate variable name. This gives a error ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement. However if i cut and paste the SQL statement from DBMS_OUTPUT, the table creation goes through without any problem.
    What could be the issue. Has anyone face this before please.
    I am using 10G DB

    Thanks for your reply. It is a big code. I am pasting the part required.
    v_sqlstmtout :='CREATE TABLE a_10(MYDATE DATE NOT NULL,ID NUMBER(14) NOT NULL)';
    v_sqlstmtout := v_sqlstmtout || ' PARTITION BY RANGE (MYDATE) ';

    v_sqlstmtout := v_sqlstmtout || '('||V_SQLSTMT3||')' || v_sqlstmt||')';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE ''''||v_sqlstmtout||'''';
    variables are substituted through data from different tables.
    The output looks like the following
    CREATE TABLE a_10(MYDATE DATE NOT NULL,ID NUMBER(14) NOT NULL)

    The above is the output from DBMS_OUTPUT. If i run this statement the table is created. Please help..

  • SQL Server 2012 Management Studio:In the Database, how to print out or export the old 3 dbo Tables that were created manually and they have a relationship for 1 Parent table and 2 Child tables?How to handle this relationship in creating a new XML Schema?

    Hi all,
    Long time ago, I manually created a Database (APGriMMRP) and 3 Tables (dbo.Table_1_XYcoordinates, dbo.Table_2_Soil, and dbo.Table_3_Water) in my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio (SSMS2012). The dbo.Table_1_XYcoordinates has the following columns: file_id,
    Pt_ID, X, Y, Z, sample_id, Boring. The dbo.Table_2_Soil has the following columns: Boring, sample_date, sample_id, Unit, Arsenic, Chromium, Lead. The dbo.Table_3_Water has the following columns: Boring, sample_date, sample_id, Unit, Benzene, Ethylbenzene,
    Pyrene. The dbo.Table_1_XYcoordinates is a Parent Table. The dbo.Table_2_Soil and the dbo.Table_3_Water are 2 Child Tables. The sample_id is key link for the relationship between the Parent Table and the Child Tables.
    Problem #1) How can I print out or export these 3 dbo Tables?
    Problem #2) If I right-click on the dbo Table, I see "Start PowerShell" and click on it. I get the following error messages: Warning: Failed to load the 'SQLAS' extension: An exception occurred in SMO while trying to manage a service.
    --> Failed to retrieve data for this request. --> Invalid class.  Warning: Could not obtain SQL Server Service information. An attemp to connect to WMI on 'NAB-WK-02657306' failed with the following error: An exception occurred in SMO while trying
    to manage a service. --> Failed to retrieve data for this request. --> Invalid class.  .... PS SQLSERVER:\SQL\NAB-WK-02657306\SQLEXPRESS\Databases\APGriMMRP\Table_1_XYcoordinates>   What causes this set of error messages? How can
    I get this problem fixed in my PC that is an end user of the Windows 7 LAN System? Note: I don't have the regular version of Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 in my PC. I just have the Microsoft 2012 Shell (Integrated) program in my PC.
    Problem #3: I plan to create an XML Schema Collection in the "APGriMMRP" database for the Parent Table and the Child Tables. How can I handle the relationship between the Parent Table and the Child Table in the XML Schema Collection?
    Problem #4: I plan to extract some results/data from the Parent Table and the Child Table by using XQuery. What kind of JOIN (Left or Right JOIN) should I use in the XQuerying?
    Please kindly help, answer my questions, and advise me how to resolve these 4 problems.
    Thanks in advance,
    Scott Chang

    In the future, I would recommend you to post your questions one by one, and to the appropriate forum. Of your questions it is really only #3 that fits into this forum. (And that is the one I will not answer, because I have worked very little with XSD.)
    1) Not sure what you mean with "print" or "export", but when you right-click a database, you can select Tasks from the context menu and in this submenu you find "Export data".
    2) I don't know why you get that error, but any particular reason you want to run PowerShell?
    4) If you have tables, you query them with SQL, not XQuery. XQuery is when you query XML documents, but left and right joins are SQL things. There are no joins in XQuery.
    As for left/right join, notice that these two are equivalent:
    SELECT ...
    FROM   a LEFT JOIN b ON a.col = b.col
    SELECT ...
    FROM   b RIGHT JOIN a ON a.col = b.col
    But please never use RIGHT JOIN - it gives me a headache!
    There is nothing that says that you should use any of the other. In fact, if you are returning rows from parent and child, I would expect an inner join, unless you want to cater for parents without children.
    Here is an example where you can study the different join types and how they behave:
    CREATE TABLE apple (a int         NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
                        b varchar(23) NOT NULL)
    INSERT apple(a, b)
       VALUES(1, 'Granny Smith'),
             (2, 'Gloster'),
             (4, 'Ingrid-Marie'),
             (5, 'Milenga')
    CREATE TABLE orange(c int        NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
                        d varchar(23) NOT NULL)
    INSERT orange(c, d)
       VALUES(1, 'Agent'),
             (3, 'Netherlands'),
             (4, 'Revolution')
    SELECT a, b, c, d
    FROM   apple
    CROSS  JOIN orange
    SELECT a, b, c, d
    FROM   apple
    INNER  JOIN orange ON apple.a = orange.c
    SELECT a, b, c, d
    FROM   apple
    LEFT   OUTER JOIN orange ON apple.a = orange.c
    SELECT a, b, c, d
    FROM   apple
    RIGHT  OUTER JOIN orange ON apple.a = orange.c
    SELECT a, b, c, d
    FROM   apple
    FULL OUTER JOIN orange ON apple.a = orange.c
    go
    DROP TABLE apple, orange

  • Sql server partition parent table and reference not partition child table

    Hi,
    I have two tables in SQL Server 2008 R2, Parent and Child Table.
    Parent has date time, and it is partitioned monthly,  there is a Child table which just refer the Parent table using Foreign key relation.
    is there any problem the non-partitioned child table referring to a partitioned parent table?
    Thanks,
    Areef

    The tables will need to be offline for the operation. "Offline" here, means that you wrap the entire operation in a transaction. Ideally, this transaction would:
    1) Drop the foreign key.
    2) Use ALTER TABLE SWITCH to drop the old data.
    3) Use ALTER PARTITION FUNCTION to drop the old empty partition.
    4) Use ALTER PARTITION FUNCTION to add a new empty partition.
    5) Reapply the foreign keys WITH CHECK.
    All but the last operation are metadata-only operation (provided that you do them right). To perform the last operation, SQL Server must scan the child tbale and verify that all keys are present in the parent table. This can take some time for larger tables.
    During the transaction, SQL Server holds Sch-M locks on the table, which means that are entirely inaccessible, even for queries running with NOLOCK.
    You avoid this the scan by applying the fkey constraint WITH NOCHECK, but this can have impact on query plans, as SQL Server will not consider the constraint as trusted.
    An alternative which should not be entirely dismissed is to use partitioned
    views instead. With partitioned views, the foreign keys are not an issue, because each partition is a pair of tables, with its own local fkey.
    As for the second question: it appears to be completely pointless to partition the parent, but not the child table. Or does the child table only have rows for a smaller set of the rows in the parent?

  • Peovisioning multivalued attribute to a Detail table in SQL using GTC

    I have a trusted recon set up from Sun LDAP to OIM followed by auto provisioning to SQL's "MyUser" table using GTC. This works fine so far.
    Now the difficult part of the requirements. I have a multi-valued attribute called 'AppRoles' associated to User in Sun LDAP. I want to provision this attribute to SQL's "MyUserToRole" table (this is a detail table of Master "MyUser" table). What should be the best approach to do this task ?
    Thanks!
    Kabi

    For Look-Up:
    Once you run Trusted Recon, all your AppRoles are inserted into this look-up as different rows for different users. Use OIM API's for that. A basic structure could be like following:
    Code - Decode
    User01 - Role01,Role02
    User02 - Role02,Role03,Roel04
    User03 - Role08,Role12
    This way all the roles are stored in this look-up. Bu the only issue with this could be the modification in the look up manually which could be tolerated as their are glitches with almost every solution implemented.
    For UDF Field
    Yes, their would be a limitation in the Text Area field and it is *200* characters. So if that is the case then you should go for Look-up which doesn't have such restrictions at-least for your requirement.

    just try the appending the username in the sql query .., select * from sa.test
    - Double check that the table exist in the same schema which your are connecting

    Ideally you would be doing a set based processing rather than traversing row by row as thats more efficient. To answer it specific to your scenario we may need more info. Can you explain with some sample data your exact requirement?

  • How to use Temporary Table in PL-SQL

    In MySQL there is no Temporary table concept.
    So for intermediate calculation I have created a table as below
    create table SequenceTempTable
    SessionId VARCHAR(50),
    Sequence VARCHAR(500),
    CreatedDate DATE
    ) ENGINE=MEMORY;
    Whenever I invoke a SP, I load the data into SequenceTempTable using Session Id as below
    CREATE PROCEDURE `GetSequence`(
    IN Start_Date VARCHAR(25),
    IN End_Date VARCHAR(25)
    BEGIN
    SELECT UUID() INTO v_SessionId;
    INSERT INTO SequenceTempTable values (v_SessionId,'1,2,5,3',now());
    required code
    DELETE FROM SequenceTempTable WHERE SessionId = v_SessionId;
    COMMIT;
    END;
    i.e. I have created a table as temporary table (created once),
    and load the data using Session Id and once session specific intermediate computation done,
    I deleted the session specific data.
    Could you give me examples of How to use Temporary table in PL-SQL code with respect to my above example.
    Because I have gone through creating Temporary table but I stuck with use in PL-SQL. I mean to say Is there any need of creating table in advance before invoking SP.
    And one more thing as in MySQL temp table I created which is using MEMORY engine i.e. this table will always be in MEMORY so there is no need of writing data on disk.
    Regards
    Sanjeev

    Hi Sanjeev
    Read about GTT here
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/8i/TemporaryTables.php
    GTT always contains just session specific data. \
    In case you want to use the GTT in the same session again you can use option
    ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS;
    Or if it is used just once in the session use can use
    ON COMMIT DELETE ROWS;
    Do remember that for GTT the data of one session can not be accessed in other session.
    Also you can go away with Delete from GTT if not used again in same session.

    Thanks.Any Oracle client connected to the Oracle database can access Sybase data through the <font style="background-color: #FFFFCC">Database Gateway for Sybase</font> (it requires an additional license) or the <font style="background-color: #FFFFCC">Database gateway for ODBC</font> (it's free).
    The Oracle client and the Oracle database can reside on different machines. The gateway accepts connections only from the Oracle database.
    A connection to the gateway is established through a database link when it is first used in an Oracle session. In this context, a connection refers to the connection between the Oracle database and the gateway. The connection remains established until the Oracle session ends. Another session or user can access the same database link and get a distinct connection to the gateway and Sybase database.
    Database links are active for the duration of a gateway session. If you want to close a database link during a session, you can do so with the ALTER SESSION statement.
    To access the Sybase server, you must create a <font style="background-color: #FFFFCC">database link</font>. A public database link is the most common of database links.

  • Parent - child table issue wrt to count - SQL question

    I have a scenario:
    There are 2 tables (parent and child). lets say, case summary table and task level dimension table.
    for every case id in case summary table, there would be multiple tasks in task level dim table with a flag indicator set to 1 for all tasks.
    but while counting the number of cases active with flag indicator 1 (ofcourse when joining case summary table with task dimension table), for a case id only 1 instance of task needs to be accounted (even though it has more than one task , for counting active cases, the flag ind corresponding to a task in a case if set to 1 , then the case is considered active)..but while joining and taking count of case ids with flag indicator as 1, you get the count of every task row of a case which is incorrect logically. how to discard the rest of child records of a case in child table (task dimension table)?
    I am not sure how to achieve this in sql query
    Kindly help!
    Case summary table
    case id, busininess_unit, agent_name
    1001, admin, Ram
    1002, Finance, Sam
    task table
    case id, task_id,task_name, flag_indicator
    1001, 1, 'New', 1
    1001,2, 'Open',1
    1001,3,'In progress',1
    1002, 4, 'New', 1
    (In fact task_id is not a big deal... even you can assume task id doesn't exist..only task name ... )
    now my question... if my query should get the current active cases (ind=1); as per above it should essentially give 2... but my query gives me 4..you know the reason why.. but how do i get the correct count?
    Thanks!

    may be you need just this:
    select count(distinct case_id) from task
    where indicator = 1;
    If this is not what you are looking for, please elaborate and tell us the expected output and rest of the details as mentioned in FAQ Re: 2. How do I ask a question on the forums?:

    But it is taking default as 8168, leading to HASH join between the tables..leading to FULL TABLE access.
    So my question is, is there any way by which I can change the statistics while using collections in SQL ?
    I can use hints to use indexes but planning to avoid it as of now. Currently the time shown in explain plan is not accurate

    Thanks Tubby,
    While searching I had found out that we can use CARDINALITY hint to set statistics for TABLE funtion.
    But I preferred not to say, as it is currently undocumented hint. I now think I should have mentioned it while posting for the first time
    http://www.oracle-developer.net/display.php?id=427
    If we go across the document, it has mentioned in total 3 hints to set statistics :
    1) CARDINALITY (Undocumented)
    2) OPT_ESTIMATE ( Undocumented )
    3) DYNAMIC_SAMPLING ( Documented )
    4) Extensible Optimiser
    Tried it out with different hints and it is working as expected.
    i.e. cardinality and opt_estimate are taking the default set value
    But using dynamic_sampling hint provides the most correct estimate of the rows ( which is 2 in this particular case )
    With CARDINALITY hint

    Note
       - dynamic sampling used for this statement (level=2)I will be testing the last option "Extensible Optimizer" and put my findings here .
    I hope oracle in future releases, improve the statistics gathering for collections which can be used in DML and not just use the default block size.
    By the way, are you aware why it uses the default block size ? Is it because it is the smallest granular unit which oracle provides ?

  • PL/SQL TABLE declarations must currently use binary_integer indexes

    Hi,
    I am having procedure written in form6i, this procedure is having pl/sql table datatyep "v_suppmesg orcl.err_message.error_tabtype;" this pl/sql datatype is defined in database and the procedure in database is not having any error in it.
    But when i am compling my form its giving me error
    PL/SQL TABLE declarations must currently use binary_integer indexes
    and error point is *"i_rowindex"* in the sentance given below.
    *"SET_GROUP_CHAR_CELL (g_suppress_error_colid, v_rowindex, v_suppmesg(i_rowindex));"*
    PROCEDURE PRC_A IS
    v_rowindex NUMBER (5,0) := 1;
    v_suppmesg orcl.err_message.error_tabtype;
    BEGIN
    g_suppress_error_rgid := FIND_GROUP (g_suppress_error_rgname);
    IF ID_NULL (g_suppress_error_rgid)

    ELSE
    g_suppress_error_colid := FIND_COLUMN (g_suppress_error_rgname||'.'||g_suppress_error_colname);
    END IF;
    END Init_Suppress_Message;
    can anyone tell me what's wrong in this.

    I have the folowing compiling and executing fine (Forms 10.1.2):

  • BC4J tag - add new record only in child table using join query

    Hi,
    I have developed the struts base jsp for BC4J component application using jdeveloper wizard.
    i have first developed the BC4J component. using emp table and dept table,
    also developed the association between emp and dept , and create view object using created association.
    when i haae developed the the struts base jsp for BC4J applicaion using alerady created view object. it creates automatically DataEditComponent.jsp and DataTableComponent.jsp and etc...
    and when i want to add new row or record it automatically add the entry in both table ,
    in above scenario i have used dept as master and emp as child table.
    what is the solution , if i want to add row or record in only emp table.
    please help me

    Hi Reetesh,
    I have written following code into the ADD ROW button
    System.out.println("Coming in Click Event");
    OAApplicationModuleImpl am = (OAApplicationModuleImpl) pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    OAWebBean innerTablebean = (OAWebBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("region12");
    OATableBean innerTable = (OATableBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("innerTablebean");
    OAInnerDataObjectEnumerator enum = new OAInnerDataObjectEnumerator(pageContext,innerTablebean);
    while(enum.hasMoreElements())
    RowSet innerRowSet = (RowSet) enum.nextElement();
    Row []rowsInRange = innerRowSet.getAllRowsInRange();
    OARow newRow = (OARow) innerRowSet.createRow();
    OADBTransaction dbt = am.getOADBTransaction();
    Number b = dbt.getSequenceValue("PK_XX_BATCH_PROGRAM_PARAMETERS");
    newRow.setAttribute("ProgramId", b);
    newRow.setAttribute("ProgramParmId",b);
    newRow.setAttribute("ParameterName",new String(""));
    newRow.setAttribute("ParameterDataType",new String(""));
    newRow.setAttribute("ParameterInOutType",new String(""));
    innerRowSet.insertRow(newRow);
    Now the problem occurs only when there are more than one rows in parent table... As many rows are there in parent table that many times the rows are being added.

    Pratik, the SQL does not seem right. BTW you can only retreive data via Deski Free hand SQL. Also try to use OLE DB connection.
