Chinese and Thai Character problems when publishing

Hello All,
I'm having trouble getting Chinese and Thai characters to display properly after publishing and using the htm file.  For the most part, Chinese is sharp, but certain characters get muddled up.
For Thai it seems that Captivate is chopping off the top accents for Thai (4th level diacritics).
Here are some screenshots:
Is there a better font I could be using.  Is this something to do with Captivate? My computer? The browser?
Any help is appreciated.

Ok, i think i got the scriptaculous.js to upload. on the right track.
On your page you still have these codes:
<img src="file:///C|/Users/JD/JamesJDDavis/photos/facebook_logo.png" alt="facebook" width="60" height="60" border="0" align="baseline">
<img src="file:///C|/Users/JD/JamesJDDavis/photos/twitter-logo.png" alt="twitter" width="60" height="60" border="0">
you need to change them to this:
<img src="/photos/facebook_logo.png" alt="facebook" width="60" height="60" border="0" align="baseline">
<img src="/photos/twitter-logo.png" alt="twitter" width="60" height="60" border="0">
You also need to make sure the relevant photos are in the folder called this:     /photos

  • Thai character problem - iPlanet Web Server 4.1. Please help!

    Hi all,
I am experiencing a very annoying problem with iPlanet Web Server 4.1 running on Solaris 5.8. I have a web application with Thai character set encoding support. I have a JSP which is a data entry screen page (using FORM tag) and the data submission can contain Thai characters, however I get HTTP error 400 (bad request) when I submit the form using the client machine running Windows OS other than Windows 2000. I tested in Windows 98 and Windows XP, always get that HTTP error 400.
I have two boxes, Web server machine and App server machine. If I bypass the iPlanet Web Server directly connect to my application server (the app server software has built-in web server, but not suitable for production, that's why I use iPlanet Web Server 4.1) I don't get any problem at all. So I suspect something wrong with the iPlanet Web Server software. I also tested my web application in Linux environment with the same iPlanet Web Server 4.1, but the problem is not there.
Thus, did anyone ever experience the same thing? Can anyone shed some light to resolve this problem? Is the problem reside in the client machine or in the server environment?
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jacky.

  • DSS problems when publishing large amount of data fast

Has anyone experienced problems when sending large amounts of data using the DSS. I have approximately 130 to 150 items that I send through the DSS to communicate between different parts of my application.
There are several loops publishing data. One publishes approximately 50 items in a rate of 50ms, another about 40 items with 100ms publishing rate.
I send a command to a subprogram (125ms) that reads and publishes the answer on a DSS URL (app 125 ms). So that is one item on DSS for about 250ms. But this data is not seen on my man GUI window that reads the DSS URL.
    My questions are
    1. Is there any limit in speed (frequency) for data publishing in DSS?
    2. Can DSS be unstable if loaded to much?
    3. Can I lose/miss data in any situation?
    4. In the DSS Manager I have doubled the MaxItems and MaxConnections. How will this affect my system?
    5. When I run my full application I have experienced the following error Fatal Internal Error : ”memory.ccp” , line 638. Can this be a result of my large application and the heavy load on DSS? (se attached picture)

If so, then get a better serial adapter. If not, look more closely at

  • Problem when publishing HTML5 canvas animation

    Hi,
I have a problem when I publish my animation in flash cc into HTML canvas, although it works fine on my desktop, but it gets worse on tablet, the animation gets slower and the colors are darker.
I did some fixes as: removed all filters - converted the artwork objects into bitmaps - I even deleted the big BGs that have the biggest sizes.
Any help/suggestions would be very appreciated.

Thanks kglad for you reply, but the animation I am publishing is too simple and short, I've deleted anything that may effect the performance, I am sending you the link to view it and tell me if there is something wrong I am doing.

  • IPod Classic not recognized by iTunes, claims to be wiped of all content, and causes computer problems when connected

I have an 80 GB iPod Classic that has suddenly developed severe problems. I'm running iTunes on Windows 7 64 bit.
It was working fine until last night, when I connected it to iTunes to add 6 songs. (Four of these were bought on Amazon.com and 2 ripped from CD's). It accepted the songs and played them fine when connected. When I clicked the icon in iTunes to eject the iPod, it came up with the "OK to Disconnect" and progress bar as usual. However, this time the progress bar didn't start to fill in. It just sat there.
After several minutes the progress bar finally filled in and returned to the menu... but instead of displaying the cover flow on the right side as usual, it showed a gray box with "No Music."
When I tried to re-connect it to my computer, iTunes would not recognize it. My computer also wouldn't recognize it at first... after several minutes, it came up as a generic removable device. Attempting to right-click on it or eject it from Windows was unsuccessful.
The iPod itself displayed "Connected" and alternated the plug image with the spinning arrows. It never said "Synchronizing" as it usually does.
Furthermore, my computer's performance degraded severely while the iPod was plugged in. iTunes itself froze, and even my other applications (such as my web browser) would not work correctly. This all cleared up as soon as I unplugged the iPod. If I tried to initialize iTunes while the iPod was plugged in, it would not open. It opened immediately when I unplugged the iPod.
Finally, despite claiming to have no music or other contents (it had contained only my iTunes music library, which is about 26.5 GB), in Settings the iPod claimed to have only 5.3 GB of free space.
Resetting the iPod with Select/Menu made no change. I was able to put it in diagnostic mode and check the hard drive, which gave these results:
    Retracts: 381
    Reallocs: 0
    Pending Sectors: 10
    PowerOn Hours: 417
    Smart/Stops: 381
    Temp: Current 24c
    Temp: Min 15c
    Temp: Max 48c
When I put the iPod up to my ear I hear a steady, faint high-pitched sound and an occasional very faint crackling noise. When it shuts down the sound continues for a few seconds, then ends with a kind of squeaking sound.
The iPod is more than 5 years old, so I'm prepared for the probability that it's fried. But I'd like to try everything before I go ahead and spring for a new one.

The iPod's hard drive probably has data corruption.  That does not necessarily mean there is a hardware problem.  Hard drives, including the ones in computers, can develop data corruption.
Try putting the iPod into Disk Mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1363
If it goes into Disk Mode, run iTunes on the computer and connect the iPod.  To eliminate other potential issues, you should disconnect other USB devices (you can leave standard keyboard/mouse connected), and connect the iPod to a direct USB port on the computer.
iTunes may prompt you to do a Restore, which you should do.  This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.  If the problem was only data corruption, and there is no hardware problems, the iPod should have a "fresh start."  You can sync it from your iTunes library.
If the iPod does not go into Disk Mode, or if doing a Restore fails, the iPod's hard drive may be faulty.

  • I've updated my Firefox to 6.0.1 and now have problems when viewing/accessing one of Software Vendors. How can I undo that latest update?

I am trying to access my Template on Proxibid's Auctioneer website and the Firefox screen goes away, showing me my wallpaper, then it comes back and says Firefox is not responding, then it suddenly displays a full screen of HTML. I spoke with Proxibid - they suggest I undo the latest update, as this problem began after that update. I need to know how to do that.
IE works on the Proxibid site, but I REALLY don't want to use it...

I do backup with iCloud.  I can't wait until the new iMac is available so that I can once again have my files in more than 1 location without needing to rely solely on the cloud.
I also rely on iTunes and my MacBook and Time Machine as well as backing up to iCloud. I know many users know have gone totally PC free, but I chose to use iCloud merely as my third backup.
I assume that the restore would result in my ability to open Pages and Numbers and fix the problem with deleting apps, but this would also mean that if my Numbers documents still exist solely within the app and are just not on iCloud for some reason that they would be gone forever.  Is that right?
In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

  • Numeric character problems when creating spatial index

    Hi,
We have run into a problem when trying to create spatial indexes. The problem seems to be that an mdsys-procedure tries to use a number with a comma as decimal symbol in an update statement

Our problem seems to be identical to the one discussed in this thread: create RTREE falied on 9.2.0.4
    Regional settings, language versions etc:
    Client:
    OS: Windows 2000
    Regional options (OS): Swedish, Sweden
Sqlplus (console and windows versions): v 9.2.0.1.0
    Registry: NLS_LANG =SWEDISH_SWEDEN.WE8MSWIN1252
    Server:
    OS: Windows Server 2003
    Regional options (OS): Swedish, Sweden
    Oracle: v 9.2.0.3.0
    Registry: NLS_LANG =SWEDISH_SWEDEN.WE8MSWIN1252
We have also tried building the indexes after overriding these settings by setting the environment variables NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 on both the client- and the server computer. This gives exactly the same error. We have tried setting NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS to '.,' instead of ',.', but this does not help either.
We haven't tried changing the NLS_LANG registry entry on the server, because this is a production server at a customer's site that hosts several other databases, so we would prefer not to have to restart it if we can avoid it. However, as we understand it, the environment variable NLS_LANG should override the registry setting anyway, right?
We first experienced the problem when trying to build indexes on imported data. To verify that the problem was not with the data, we wrote a simple test script that:
    1)Creates a table
    2)Creates metadata
    3)Inserts a simple geometry
    4)Tries to create an index
The error message above is from running this script. We have verified that the script
works ok on another database server.
Below are the values of some of the language parameters right before running the script
(we have tried many other settings with the same result).
    parameter...........................db................................instance...............session
    NLS_CHARACTERSET.......WE8MSWIN1252..................................................
    NLS_LANGUAGE...............AMERICAN...................AMERICAN...........AMERICAN
    NLS_NCHAR_CH...............AL16UTF16 ..........................................................
    NLS_NCHAR_CONV... ......FALSE..........................FALSE..................FALSE..
    NLS_NUMERIC_CH...---------.,---------------------------------------------------------------.,
    NLS_TERRITORY..............AMERICA......................AMERICA..............AMERICA
The guy who started the thread referenced above solved the problem, but we haven't been able to get it working by changing registry entries and session parameters.
The question is: Which setting will make the number in 'set sdo_rtree_quality = 1,00000000...' be generated with a . instead of a , as decimal symbol?

Ok, so here is my plan to solve this:
    1) Change the default user locale (the language under "standards and formats") to English for the account under which the Oracle server runs.
    2) Reboot (or is there an easier way to make Oracle reload the settings?)
This should make the index creation work. It may break something else however, so to avoid this I can set the user locale back to Swedish afterwards .
You can subsequently change the setting and update the sdo_rtree_quality in
the metadata and it should work fine. Do you mean I have to update the sdo_rtree_quality in some way to make it work after I have changed the default user locale back to Swedish? How do I do this?
Thanks a million both of you!

  • Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS6 problem when editing

    Hi,
I have just upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and now when I 'edit in Photoshop CS6' from lightroom and save it, the image doesn't appear next to the original RAW file as it did before. Now lightroom creates its own folder with the edited files in.
For example, I edited a RAW file from a folder called Bissoe valley from Lightroom and saved it. When I go back to Lightroom the edited image is not next to the original file but in a seperate folder called 'Bissoe valley'. I then try to drag the edited image back into the original 'Bissoe valley folder with the original RAW file and it says 'the file already exists at the destination'
I appologise if this has already been asked. I'm guessing I need to buy Lightroom 4 because of incompatibility issues? It wouldn't surprise me if this is the case.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Victoria....you are a legend!
You can see here lightroom has created folders identically named to the folder which the original files belong to (coco, Harriet, Bissoe and independent assignment)
The really confusing part is that when I look in the original folder outside of Lightroom, the saved Tiff image is there next to the original.
I think I will try uninstalling ps cs6 and go back to cs5 to see if it solves the problem and take it from there....

first off what does "can't display properly" mean?
i just tried something like your code w/unicode (utf-8) &
    it worked fine. a few
    things:
with such different languages i'm kind of surprised you're
    not using unicode for

as a matter of good practice you should always include

not sure where cf would stuff this? email or the current
    page? i would maybe
just stick w/the plain HTML meta-header for the email.

not exactly sure the effect of *not* adding charset to this
    tag but probably a
    good idea....

  • Audio problems when publishing to YouTube with Adobe Captivate 5.5

I was using Audacity to record audio, then importing the audio into Adobe Captivate 5.5. One I recorded earlier, before my computer was changed, but published into YouTube after it was changed published fine. But now, after doing recordings with Audacity and within Captivate itself, on different computers and everything, I am getting no sound when publishing to YouTube.
