Choose the Subject Area according to the user connexion

Hi all,
Suppose that I have many subject area in the presentation layer (for example SA1 and SA2).
Is it possible to choose the subject area to display according to the user connexion.
ie. If we have two users User1 and User2 and i would like to schow only SA1 for USER1 and USER2.
Thanks
Best regards

You can do this by following steps....
1. Open the repository in Administration Tools. In the presentation layer, Go to the presentation catalog. then right click the presentation catalog you want to restrict to a particular user.
2. click properties. Go to persmissions tab, then click show all users and groups. select the user you want to restrict and then click the checkbox next to it. keep clicking it until it becomes a red cross. click ok. It's done.
Hope that helps...Correct me if I am wrong.

This process does not appear to work for me.  I'm running 10.8.3.  I created a new user for a guest staying with me.  They have gone now and I am attempting to either change the password or delete the user.  It won't allow me to choose the user I created.  I am logged in as myself and it states that I am an "Admin".  The user I'm attempting to change is listed as a "standard" user and there is a white checkmark inside an orange circular background on the user pic in the list of users.
Can someone help me?  I am having a hard time believing that OSx will allow me to create users and allow them use of my computer and it's drives, yet it will not allow me to change the password so I can monitor what they might have been doing while logged on?  What if this were my child?  This guest left under sketchy circumstances, and I'd really like to be able to ensure they were not using my computer to do illegal things or to have illegal communications.
Any help would be appreciated.  (It's odd that it was so simple to "create" a user and set a password for them.......but it's complicated or a little known process to reverse.
    Thanks.

Here are two screen shots to show you what I am seeing.  The first screen shot shows it allowing me to select (highlighted in blue) my admin user (which is what I am locced in as).  The second screen shot shows it allowing me to select the "Guest" user (highlighted in blue).  However when I click on the user "Orion" nothing happens.  It will not change to highlight that user.

  • Can we hide a specific subject area in answers for selected users

    Hi,
Can we hide a specific subject area in answers for few users. I want to expose a particular subject area for only 2 users out of 10 . Right now if i expose it all 10 ppl with answers access will see that subject area. can i hide it for the other 8 without removing their answers access.

Log in as Admin- Setting-Administration-Manage Privileges-Search for your subject area and place appropriate restriction..

  • User can see the subject are but nothing under the subject area.

    Hi
    I have OBIEE 11g.
I was thinking this is a very simple case where I have one subject area for which I want to create a user such that it can create analysis and reports on that subject area.
I BIAdmin can do that currently.
So I created a new user in console. Under the 'Groups' tab of this user, I choose 'BIAuthors' from the 'Parents Group Available'.
Then I logged in as this user. User was able to see the subject area but only the header. When it clicks on the expand ( + icon in tree) it expands to nothing.
So i logged into the rpd and Under Identity -Manage , and open the properties for BIAuthor. and under Permissions , I gave BIAuthor the permission to the subject area.
    That did not help.
I also opened the subject area from the presentation layer and under permission I made sure that "Everone" has Read access.
But even after a bounce the user just sees the header and it expands to nothing,
    Any suggestion.
(I was also thinking that why do I see BIAuthors in weblogic where as BIAuthor in rpd (without s ). I was thinking the rpd BIAuthor is something from 10g version.
    Thanks for all the help.

    Hi,
Better to decline the subfolder permissions from the user @answers,then user can only see the subject area but he can't access the subfolders...

  • Report to show Service Requests that are open on a day selected by the user

Dunno if I'm being thick, but I can't see how to do this in a report/dashboard...
The user selects a day and the report pulls back all the Service Requests that were open on that day using the following logic...
Service Request Opened Date <= Selected date & Service Request Closed Date >= Selected date
    Is this possible?

You can do this with a report or a dashboard.
For a report, create a report your subject ares, like Service Request. In Step 3, Create a prompt on your date and choose Column Filter Prompt. Give the prompt a caption ("Enter/Choose Date" for example). Choose the date field for the Filter on Column. Determine how you want the users to select the value and hit OK. My experience has been that you need to let users type in the date, as opposed to choosing from a drop-down list, because of the volume of data and performance reasons, but test it to determine what works best for your needs.
For a dashboard, you would need to create a dashboard prompt for your dashboard report. You do this by creating a new report on your intended subject area, i.e. Service Request. Instead of creating the report as you normally do, you need to click on the Create Dashboard Prompt button at the top left, just below the Oracle logo. Choose the right reporting area, then complete the prompt details. Don't forget to allow for the prompt in your report.
I always recommend that you consider purchasing a great book on reporting, written by Mike Lairson. It is an excellent resource for nearly all of your reporting questions. You can find it on amazon.com.

  • Develop Module RGB Pixel values: 0-100% or 0-255.  Let the user choose.

I know that folks differ on whether they prefer to see RGB pixel values represented as integers in the range of 0-255 or floating point numbers between 0 and 100%.  Is there a way that the user can choose which one he/she wants (perhaps in the preferences)?  0-255 makes no sense for images which are >24 bit depth or in other color spaces.  It would be nice to have the "luddite option" (0-255) and the "future proof" option (0-100% or whatever range makes sense given the color space).  :-)

rI load a raw image of Macbeth colorchecker. I look at the RGB percentages for one of the patches. What are they percentages of? I cycle though the colorsapces with Edit/Preferences/External Editing and nothing changes. The RGB precentages remain the same. They are not dependent on the "external editing" colorspace.
As you discovered, the "external editing" preference is not used inside Lightroom. It sets the color space of the file that gets generated when you do an "edit in Photoshop". Lightroom uses a unique colorspace that has prophotoRGB primaries. Internally all math is done in a linear gamma version of prophotoRGB called MelissaRGB inside Adobe. The values reported under the histogram are based on melissaRGB but modified by the sRGB tone curve. There is nothing equivalent to it in any other piece of software, so you simply cannot compare Lightroom values to values in any other peice of software, regardless of the color space. Andrew wrote a nice overview on this many years ago: http://www.ppmag.com/reviews/200701_rodneycm.pdf
I go to Soft Proofing and the RGB values change to numeric. I cycle through some output profiles and the RGB values change, as I would expect. But when I turn soft proofing off, the RGB precentage values return and are the same. They do not depend on the Soft Proof profile. And in soft proof I only see 1 set of values, not a pair of values like Photohobby said. What am I missing?
If you turn off soft proofing, the values simply return to the actual values according to the internal representation of the image, not the soft proofed ones. What did you expect would happen? I've never seen pairs of values so I am not sure what that is about.
So, it looks like the Lightroom 4 RGB percentages are based on the Adobe98 colorspace, and are not dependent on any other settings?
As said above, the values are not comparable. the colorspace is prophotoRGB with an sRGB tone curve. If you're looking for colorchecker values in the Lightroom system: check here.
When I search the web for "skin tone by the numbers" I get hundreds of CMYK answers. I've never seen an RGB method. Please write one for us.
You really do not want to do this weird by numbers thing. This is largely a thing of the past. With modern color management and display calibration all you need to do is make the skin tone look good on your display and your output will be good. The simplest and quickest thing to do is to use a reference image with known good skin tones and put it up next to your image. Then adjust white balance until your own image looks good visually. Even better is simply to start with a known neutral by shooting a grey card or color checker neutral patch in the same lighting condition. This ensures good skin tone rendering if your development is not too extreme.

  • Freedom to choose the type of chart by end user

    Hello everyone,
Is it possible in SAP Business Objects Dashboards 4.1 to provide end user the freedom to choose the type of chart to display a set of data?
For example, I have a universe which contains employee data. It contains the dimensions Employee Id, Employee Name, Contact number, Date of joining, Salary and measures Total number of employees , tax returns.
I have to create  a chart which displays number of employees according to salary range.
Now, can I give the end users freedom so that they can view the data in pie chart, bar graph, area chart or line chart according to their preference?
Any help will be deeply appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nalin Dwivedi

dynamic visibility options with selectors is definitely an option but the process is very lengthy and time consuming. For example, if I want user to select from pie chart, column chart, area chart, line chart and bubble chart, I would have to configure every one of these charts individually.
I was just wondering if there is any direct option to include a selector which can manipulate the chart type also. If that kind of functionality is not present, then I would have to go with dynamic visibility options.

  • End User will build the report by himself by choosing the columns from tabl

We are using Oracle 10g Application server (Forms and Report Services), Forms and Report., our most urgent requirement is End User have to build the required reports by him Like wizards style, (Example Adhoc, MIS reports)., More clear, from the form we want to show all the tables structures, queries, after that end user will choose some columns from the form and specified the condition by himself to run the report after that he will press start button , then automatically report has build for the selected columns from the end user., and this report is parmanent afterwords., he can use any time.
Like this kind of report building is possiable , anyone has faced same situation.

    Yes it is.
In BW, this can be achieved by using document management. The option will be available to the user via context menu in the report (goto-->documents - text/pdf/img etc). In your case user can choose to create/change/display a 'text' document, which will be attached to the report.

  • How to build a report in Oracle CRM On Demand using the Shared Activities subject area to show only 5 recent activities?

I’m trying to use the Rank function in a report and I’m having issues getting it to work.  I’m using the Shared Activities subject area and would like to rank activities by Contact. Since there are multiple activity association to the users (attendees), I’m not getting the correct ranking order.  Here is what I tried so far…
RANK(Activity."Task Due Date" By Contact."Contact ID")
RANK(Activity."Task Due Date" By Contact."Contact ID", Activity."Activity ID")
RANK(Activity."Task Due Date" By Contact."Contact ID", Employee."Employee ID")
I don’t mind getting the same values for the same dates but the increment should be in sequence.  What I’m getting is 1,1,3,3,5,6,6…  I want to show only 5 recent activities and so need the sequence of 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4… If not date, what else is there to make it unique?  I tried to rank it by Contact Id, Activity Id, Emp Id, etc.  Nothing works!
I have tried other functions like RCOUNT, TopN, BottomN, ect. with no luck.

    Hi Max
Our requirement is to see all the activities for a server in a month ONLY IF there are activities on DIFFERENT dates. So using my example, server2 has activties on 7/1 and 7/14. Then we want to see all the activities for server2 in that month. Server3 has two activities but both activities are on the same date. So we don't want to see server3.
Counting by server will not work because that will include server3 in my example.
What I really want is to be able to count unique occurrences of dates per server in a month. And if this count is > 1, then this server will be in the report.
I used a pivot table to count the unique occurrences of dates by server by month. So using my example, I have this result:
    Server1-July: 1
    Server2-July: 2
    Server3-July 1
What I really want (conceptually) is to be able to filter this pivot table by the matrix column which is the count. I just couldn't figure out how to do that :). Then I thought I could use this report (with pivot table result) as a filter into another report.
    Hope you have some idea....:)
    Thanks

  • I created a form with Single Choice fields, 4 days with times listed. But, I want the user to only be able to choose one time, and the time chosen to be unavailable for other users. How do I do this?

I created a form with Single Choice fields, 4 days with times listed. But, I want the user to only be able to choose one time, and the time chosen to be unavailable for other users. How do I do this? I have 4 blocks of Single Choice fields in order for the summary page to give me each day in the final report. But, I need the user to be able to make a selection of any day and time and that apointment to no longer be available to future users when they log in. Plus, when the user clicks on the time, they are unable to change their mind and choose another time. Here's the link if you want to see what I'm talking about: 2015-2016 Workload Apportionment Review

I'm afraid not.    It's not rocket science but you need to do some coding.
You'll need to find a script (php) and save it to your local site folder.  Then reference the script in your form's action attribute like so.
         <form action="path/form-to-email-script.php" >
The input fields in your HTML form need to exactly match the script variables.
I'm  assuming you're hosted on a Linux server which uses PHP code.  Linux servers are also case sensitive, so upper case names are not the same as lower case names.  It's usually best to use all lower case names in your form and script to avoid confusion.

  • Can we hide the tables and columns from subject areas in the front end

    Hi,
Is there any way to hide the tables and columns from the subject area in front end.I need to create a report with some tables which the user does not want to see.So after creating the reprot can I hide those tables and columns in the front end

    Hi,
Your question is not that clear to me...do you want to hide the entire table/column that dont want to show up in the front end then you could do in Presneation Layer in the RPD by going Permissions in the property of that object.
But if you want to hide the column in the report that can be visible in the subject Area: go to column properties -> Column fomat...thereis Hide option.
Can you please elaborate your question...what exactly you are looking for...

  • Unable to save Word documents when accessing them directly from the site because the document never converts from a read-only even though the User chooses to enable editing

Issue has only popped up recently and cannot reproduce in a Test environment.  Unaware of any SharePoint changes, so hoping someone can point me in the correct direction.
Previously Word document did not have to be physically checked out, but rather the editing of the doc also checked out the doc in a document library. This is the way we want it to remain –
no manual check-out process. Now if a doc is edited without being checked-out, there is an issue with the process as the application thinks the doc is read-only (message received when trying to save the doc) even if enable editing is selected. The
following message appears when you try to save the document:
This message can appear if you have been editing a file that was opened as read-only. A file opened as read-only will have (Read-Only) appended to the file name as it appears in the title bar of Word. You can still save the document, but you must
save it by using a different file name. If you use Windows Explorer to change the read-only properties of the file, while the file is open in Word, it will not enable Word to save the file. Word must open a non-read-only version of the file in order to save
it by using its original file name. If you have not made any changes to the file, you can close it, and then use the following steps to make the file writeable. 1. Click the File tab, and then click Open. 2. Browse to the file and right-click it. 3. Click
Properties, and then clear the Read-Only check box. 4. Reopen the file. If you have made changes to a read-only file, you can save it, and then use the following steps to give the modified file the original file name. 1. Click the File tab, and then click
Save As. 2. Enter a different file name, and then click Save. 3. NOTE: Adding "Rev1", or "Mod1" to the original file name may help you to remember it later. 4. Click the File tab, and then click Close. 5. Open Windows Explorer. 6. Browse
to the original read-only file. 7. Rename the read-only file. 8. Browse to the new file. 9. Rename the new file to the name of the original file. Do not delete the read-only file until after you have determined you no longer need it.
Previously, when check-out was optional, a file was checked out automatically when someone opened it for editing, unless it was already checked out. The editing commands notified the User that the file is being/was checked out.  The real issue is the
word doc can no longer be saved as the application still believes the doc is read-only.

    Hi,
According to your description, you give the domain admin full control over files on the old file server, but you cannot move the files to the new file server. After pull the files from the old to the new file server, the domain admin can only read the files
    on the new file server.
How did you move the files from the old file server to the new file server? Did you setup replication between the two file server or use robocopy?
Please check the files permissions on the new file server to see if the permissions are changed, then share the folder on the new file server to everyone to see the result.

Check the application roles of BI Author and BI Consumer, they must be having BI Author and Consumer Groups. Check the privileges for Users and Application roles in Catalog manager for Dashboards and Check the Permissions for Users and Application in RPD for subject areas.
