Cisco 3270 MAR WGB and EIGRP Neighbors

I'm setting up a lab environment where I want to have a 3270 MAR connect to a 1524 MESH AP on the 4.9 Public Safety frequency and form an EIGRP neighbor relationship and perform routing. So far, I can get the MAR associated to the 1524, which is connected to a 2106 running 4.1.192.22M. I have configured the 4.9 Radio on the MAR as a workgroup bridge and infrastructure-client. The radio interface is up, and it is associated. I have defined EIGRP neighbors, the AS numbers and K values match. I can't figure out why the EIGRP neighbor relationship won't come up? I've also configured the MAR as a stub network. I had this working in my lab several months ago, but restoring the configs on each of the devices doesn't result in neighbor formation. Attached is some config info and show commands.

  • DMVPN Question on NHRP and EIGRP neighbor relations

First of all thank you for your answer, in a DMVPN network, running EIGRP over GRE, will a spoke consider another spoke an EIGRP neighbor? or will it just consider the hub to be an EIGRP neighbor when it comes to sending/receiving eigrp queries/updates? given that in dmvpn setup one spoke can establish a direct tunnel with another spoke.

If you are running EIGRP, under EIGRP type in
no split-horizon eigrp ; where x is the as #.
Also, if your dmvpn routers have default routes ie 0.0.0.0/0 pointing to the ISP on all routers that is ok. IF you have specific static routes for DMVPN hub public on DMVPN spoke router, you would also need to add a static route for the other dmvpn spoke public address on your first dmvpn spoke and vice versa. Hope this helps.

  • VTI and EIGRP problem

Have a lab setup to run IPSEC VPN with DVTI on Hub and SVTI on spoke. The goal is to have two tunnels from each spoke to two Hubs for redundancy. Eigrp is needed in order to get BGP up and running which will be used for routing policies.
The problem I phase is that eigrp is not established over the IPSEC tunnel (see neighbour details below). The spoke is configured with vrf on the public interface for security reasons. I have one spoke without vrf on the public interface and this connection works fine.
I can ping the physical interfaces and the ISAKMP SA and IPSEC SA are up. Doing debug eigrp packet shows that both mcast and ucast traffic is exchanged but no ack on both sides are transmitted (also indicated by Q > 0). feels like I have missed some basic stuff but can't find it.

  • Multicast for Aironet 1310 WGB and 1242 AP

I have configured a Aironet 1310 bridge as a WGB and is connected to a Aironet 1242AG AP wirelessly!
A sensor(IP device) is wired into the 1310WGB. The sensor needs MULTICAST to operate!
I checked the DETAILED STATUS of the RADIO and both the 1310 and 1242 are blocking multicast!
The RELIABLE MULTICAST TO WGB option is enabled on the 1242AP already! No luck as yet!
    Any thoughts??

  • UC540 and EIGRP

Is EIGRP an option with a UC540 or am I missing something?  I see bgp, ospf, rip and a few others as options but no eigrp.  I am trying to tunnel remote clinics back to our main site and have done this successfully with the UC540 and simple VPN tunnel.
Now I want to try and streamline the process by using a GRE tunnel and EIGRP.   I seem to be striking out though.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks

Is it that Cisco doesn't support it, or that it won't work?  The CLI commands are there for other routing protocols, with the exception of EIGRP.

  • No EIGRP neighbor on Layer 3 port

After "switchport" was removed on the 6509 Gig 1/1 port, I then assign an IP address to it as well as the other end of the cable which is an 2821 router to use it as a Layer 3 ports. I can Ping across the interfaces but they can't establish EIGRP neighbor. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for quick responds from you and EdisonOrtiz that point me to the right direction .
I had a bad mask in EIGRP statement, things are looking great now.

  • Dual Radio WGB and LWAPP Controller

    Hallo everyone,
I have a wireless network managed by a 4402 controller with this sw version : 5.2.178.0
The client wants to add a stand alone wgb (cisco 1242 with an ios 12.4(21) ). The standalone ap associate to an LWAPP AP using the 5Ghz interface and propagate the same ssid at 2.4Ghz (I've also tried using a different ssid ). Actually the WGB is the only AP using that SSID at 2.4Ghz. As for the wired clients of the WGB I have no problems but if the client associate to the 2.4 Ghz SSID, I see it associated on the controller but no traffic from or to the client is allowed.
If for any case, the 5Ghz interface is resetted and the association betweeen the WGB and the controller is reformed, the 2.4Ghz client starts receiving and receiving traffic.
Any idea how to set things up from the the first association?
The wgb ssid is not set as infrastructure-client and the controller correclty identify it as a WGB client. In the same way the controller correclty see the 2.Ghz client like a wired client of the WGB but unless the association b.t.w the WGB and the controller is reset, no traffic reach the client.
I think that may be a problem related to how the IAPP protocol notify the presence of a client to WGB but I don't know how to work things out.. any idea?
    Thank you in advance!

The 3600 series Access Points can have either internal or external antennae.  You can tell by looking at the top of the AP.  If there are 4 antenna connections (one in each corner) then they are external antennae.
If you cannot get to the AP to check them physically, the antenna type is also denoted by the part number.
    AIR-CAP3602I-x-K9 has internal antennae
    AIR-CAP3602E-x-K9 has external antennae
The 3600 does have dual radios built in, operating in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency ranges.  However, for them to show up as such, you have to enable both radios on the AP.  You can do this either through the WebUI or the CLI.
The 802.11ac option is an external module that is attached to the underside of the 3600 AP.  Please find the datasheet for the module here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps12859/ps13128/data_sheet_c78-727794.html
The 1552c Series access points are also dual-radio systems and should also have both radios turned on through the WebUI or CLI.  Note the quote " The Cisco Aironet 1552C/1552CU Outdoor Mesh Access Points are dual-radio systems with DOCSIS 3.0/EuroDOCSIS 3.0 (8x4 HFC) compliant cable modem for power and backhaul." taken from the datasheet for these APs found here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5679/ps11451/data_sheet_c78-641373.html
Cisco ships the APs with one Radio enabled and if you want the dual-radio functionality, you have to turn that on.  Once that is done, you should see the APs show up correctly in the WLC 5508.

  • EIGRP neighbor problem

    Hi,
My router is showing all the routes but cant some of the vlans and routes until and unless i give following command.
    clear ip eigrp neighbors
After giving this command it manually clears neighbor table and then makes new adjacency.
What can be the possible problem?

    Hi,
I am afraid we need more precise information - currently, your question is very general. Ideally, this sequence of outputs would be very helpful:
The transcript of an experiment in the router's "bad" state, showing the exact issue you would like to get solved, such as pings getting lost, a route pointing to a bad next hop, or a show ip route X.X.X.X output proving that the path to the destination is missing. In your case, there is a hint about a routing problem but your explanation is not clear: you say that you see all routes but you "cant some of the vlans and routes" - cannot what?
The show command outputs in the router's "bad" state related to the mechanism that should have provided the correct information to the router but ultimately failed to do so. In your case, I understand there is a possible problem with EIGRP. In that case, we would need to see the output of show ip eigrp neighbor and show ip eigrp neighbor topology X.X.X.X where X.X.X.X is the destination you have troubles reaching.
After you get the router to the "good state", provide again the information from Steps 1 and 2 above.
    Thank you!
    Best regards,
    Peter

  • Recovery for cisco security mars

    Hello
Post me a document in order to perform recovery for cisco security mars 25 series
    Thanks

It sounds like there may either be a problem with the RAID controller [configuration] or, though unlikely a hardware failure. You'd need to check the RAID controller BIOS to see if there's a hard disk drive problem or RAID configuration problem. Also check RAID controller is damaged as disks are not recognized at all.
Rebuild the Raid and reimage the appliances.

  • Difference between MARS LMS and IPS

I am trying to understand the difference between MARS, LMS and IPS and why you would use one over the other.
    Thank you all.

MARS is an appliance that aggregates/deduplicates syslog and netflow data from routers, switches, firewalls, and IPS sensors. In addition to Cisco devices it also supports things like Checkpoint Firewalls, Snort IPS, etc.
LMS (Ciscoworks LMS) is primarily a device configuration and IOS management platform that runs on your own Windows server (not sure if Unix is still supported.) We use it to maintain the configs of hundreds of Cisco routers and switches, easily push out config changes to said devices, and mass-deploy IOS upgrades.
IPS is sort of like anti-virus "on the wire" - it runs on dedicated IPS sensors, plug-in modules on firewalls or 6500's, and on routers via IOS IPS. Events can be forwarded to MARS for correlation, etc.
You didn't ask, but CSM (Cisco Security Manager) is the more appropriate tool for mass-configuration and 'group policy' for firewalls and IPS sensors.
Each product solves a particular problem; you wouldn't choose one over the other since they all work together to provide a cohesive solution. The specifics of your environment (particularly the number and type of devices) would dictate your choices here.

    Hello Jason,
Thank you very much for welcoming me to your expert discussion :) I feel to be in the right place, at the right time. Thank you also for answering question beyond your scope here, much appreciated. The information received will help me to go further as such I have submitted a 5 start rating for your first reply.
That sounds promising about the LMS part so yes, I stay tuned and wait patiently.
Ok, now let’s revert to the actual topic discussed here. Cisco Prime Service Catalog and Process Orchestrator solutions I have briefly read up on this on CCO (where elseJ) and picked out the following quote
---- Quote from the Cisco Prime Service Catalog Data Sheet
Today’s end users want self-service and easy access to IT tools and services.
Simultaneously, organizations are seeking ways to extend their cloud management
platforms beyond self-service delivery of virtual machines and infrastructure resources
while increasing their use of cloud-based solutions to enhance business agility and effectiveness.
Cisco Prime™ Service Catalog offers tremendous benefits to organizations that want to unify the ways in
which all types of IT services are ordered and fulfilled, not just infrastructure requests
    ---- un quote ---
I try to understand what (at high level of course) happens in the back ground when an order is raised and which vendor solution your product can interact with.
As mentioned in the quoted text, this service catalogue goes beyond the standard infrastructure.
Let’s say, a user wants to deploy a new email services, or in your example,  extends or create a new web-portal (i.e. for HR to view and manage holiday, staff absence and benefits).
Your solution will need to interact somehow with the 3rd party vendor application that is capable building such portal I believe.
Without disclosing to many information, I assume the portal is linked to backend VM,s that spin up requested resources (and more magic of course). Perhaps I am mixing this up with another cisco product where a user can go on the portal and spin up virtual Firewalls, virtual Routers can be provisioned in now time.
Out if interest; Is this product also known as Mozart? (project code within Cisco?)
    I hope query is ok.
    Best wishes
    Markus

  • Changing MARA-ERNAM and MARA-AENAM during Material create

    Hi All,
We have a critical requirement to change the MARA-ERNAM and MARA-AENAM during the creation of the material.
We are using the BAPI 'BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA' to create a material from an Inbound IDOC.When we execute the above BAPI, the material is created with sy-uname in MARA-ERNAM and MARA-AENAM field and our requirement is to update our desired usernames.
           Please provide your valuable suggestions.

and why don't you execute that BAPI with another UserID? or schedule it as a job, attaching the userid of the special batch-user you have in your company to the job-step?
