Class Calendar - why does it happen??

Hi.
I'm trying to compare two milliseconds values of Calendar objects. I expected to get the same milliseconds representation for the two objects. Somehow, it didn't happen:
SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy");
SimpleDateFormat sdf1 = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm:ss");
Calendar cal1 = Calendar.getInstance();
cal1.set(cal1.get(Calendar.YEAR), cal1.get(Calendar.MONTH), cal1.get(Calendar.DATE), 0, 0, 0);
Calendar cal2 = Calendar.getInstance();
cal2.setTime((Date)sdf.parse("09/11/2004"));
System.out.println("cal1: "+sdf1.format(cal1.getTime()));
System.out.println("cal2: "+sdf1.format(cal2.getTime()));
System.out.println("cal1 ms: "+cal1.getTimeInMillis());
System.out.println("cal2 ms: "+cal2.getTimeInMillis());
Output is:
cal1: 09/11/2004 00:00:00
cal2: 09/11/2004 00:00:00
cal1 ms: 1099951200453
cal2 ms: 1099951200000
I guess that it happened due to different millioseconds values for each object. Isn't the millisecond field of a Calendar object set to 0 by default?
Can someone please explain me what I'm missing here?

Isn't the millisecond field of a Calendar object set to 0 by default?No. Much like the year, month, day, hour, minute and second fields, the millisecond field of a Calendar
object is set to the millisecond value when the Calendar is created via getInstance().
