Class instances creation using MEF

Hi,
I have class implementing one interface e.g.
interface IFoo
Class Foo : IFoo
Using ServiceLocator, I want to create multiple instances of class in following manner: -
1. instance CommonFoo
2. instance SpecificFoo1
3. instance SpecificFoo2
How to export this class in such a way that if I pass "Specific" as parameter to ServiceLocator it will create new instance every time. But if I pass "Common" as parameter, ServiceLocator will create only one instance
Regards,
Sharda

Hi Sharda,
Per my understanding, you want to determine retrieving Singleton object programmatically. From the description of the following link,
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/gblock/archive/2009/01/29/managed-extensibility-framework-preview-4-a-grab-bag-of-goodies.aspx, it is supported from MEF version 4. Please check it and try the solution on that blog. Feel free to let me know the result.

  • Instance creation using WAPI

    Hi,
    In our project, there is a requirement to show a UI (JSF which is imported in Global Creation screenflow)which should create an instance in Oracle BPM from an external web application. For this purpose we are using WAPI. Is this approach right?
    Also, we need to pass values from external web application to BPM which are used to display on the UI mentioned above. How to acheive this using WAPI?
    It will be really helpful if some one provides examples for the same.
    Thanks,
    Sana

    Thanks Dan for the document link.
    In the document it is given that
    "WAPI provides two different ways to interact with the FuegoBPM Work Portal.
    • External to the Work Portal, through the HTML Process API, and
    • Internal to the Work Portal, through the URLForAction Java Class."
    For my requirement, i have to use HTML Process API since I need to create instance from an External WebApplication. I tried out the example given for HTML Process API. But the url "http://localhost:8585/portal/servlet/ExecutionDispatcher" is not found exception is coming.
    What is the corresponding url in Oracle BPM 10g.
    This requirement is very urgent. Please give your suggestions.

  • DB Instance creation using DBCA Gives ERROR

    Hi All,
    I am getting below error while creating a new DB instance using DBCA. Initially I thought it could be a problem of the oracle version. But I checked it is Oracle 10G server version 10.2.0.1. I got it re-installed 3 times, but still same issue. Please help !!!
    ORA-31011: XML parsing failed
    ORA-06512: at "XDB.DBMS_XMLSCHEMA_INT", line 3
    ORA-06512: at "XDB.DBMS_XMLSCHEMA", line 14
    ORA-06512: at line 143

    I remember that issue from long long ago, for that old version, although I didn't encounter it that often.
    If I am not mistaken, I solved it by running @?/rdbms/admin/catqm after creation (a multiple times?) and @?/rdbms/admin/utlrp
    Maybe the following will help/assist in solving the issue: http://www.liberidu.com/blog/2009/07/13/howto-clean-xml-db-install/

  • Reg Dynamic class instance creation

    Hi all,
    I want to create a instance for a class inside the program, but i know class name dynamically that reside inside a table.
    select Classname from <table name> into <classname>.
    create object <classname>->variable that got form select query.
    we have any alternative solution for this.
    Reg,
    Hariharan

    Hi Hariharan,
    DATA:
       L_INST_ASY_CALL TYPE REF TO OBJECT.
    As the type of L_INST_ASY_CALL is known in runtime so declare it as of type OBJECT.
    Hope this would help you.

  • How to use tcp socket to receive a class instance

    I've created a class instance c2smsg, then use PS.println(c2smsg) to send the instance to server.
    But how can I receive the class and read the class members at the server side?
    socket.getInputStream() can only receive String, byte[], or int...

    To be clear, here is the sample code, i wrote a TestClass, and i want to send it and read it from the recieving side.
    class TestClass{
         String testSting = "i love you";
         int port = 1024;
    //send side
    TestClass tc = new TestClass();
    PrintWriter out=new PrintWriter(socket.getOutputStream());
    out.println(tc); //i am not sure if this is right
    //send side end
    //receive side
    BufferedReader buf =new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(client.getInputStream()));
    //then what can i do to buf to read out TestClass members? buf.readLine()?
    //receive side end

  • Flex/AS3 Best way to construct a derived class instance from an existing base class instance?

    What is the best way to handle the instantiation of a derived class from an existing base class.
    I have a base class which is being created via remote_object [RemoteClass alias] from the server.   I have other specialized classes that are derived from this baseclass, but serialization with the server always happens with the base class.     The base class has meta data that defines what the derived class is, for example
    [RemoteClass (alias="com.myco...')]
    public Class Base
         public var derivedType:String;
         public function Base()
    public Class Derived extends Base
         public "some other data"
         public function Derived()
    In my Cairgorm command which retrieves this object from ther server I want to do this:
    public function result (event: Object):void
        var baseInstance:Base = event.result;
         if (baseInstance.derivedType = "derived")
              var derivedInstance:Derived = new Derived( baseInstance );
    What is the most efficient way of doing this?   It appears to me that doing a deep-copy/clone and instantiation of the derived class is pretty inefficient as far as memory allocation and data movement via the copy.

    Thanks for the assistance.  Let me try to clarify.
    MY UI requires a number of composite classes.    The individual components of the composite classes are being transfered to/from the server at different times depending upone which component has changed state.    The construction of the composite classes from the base class happens in my clients business logic.
    Composition happens in a derived class; but server syncronization happens using the base class.    When I recieve the object from Blazeds through the remote object event, it is in the form of the base class.  I then need to instantiate the derived class and copy the elements of the base class into it (for later composite construction).   And likewise when sending the base class back to the server, I need to upcast the derived class to its base class.   But in this case just a mere upcast does not work.  I actually need to create a new base class and copy the attrbutes into it.  I believe this is limitation of how remoting works on Flex/AS3.
    My question is, what is the best way to turn my base class into it's derived class so further composite construction can take place.   The way I am currently doing it is to create a  load method on the base class, that takes the base class as on argument.  The load function, copies all of the instance attribute references from the base class to the target class.
    public Class Base
         public function Base()
         public function load(fromClass:Base)
        {  //  copy the references for all of the instance attributes from the fromClass to this class }
    Then,  after I recieve the base class from the server.   I create a new derived class and pass the base class into the load function like this:
                for (var i:int=0; i < event.result.length; i++) {
                    var derived:Derived = new Derived();
                    derived.load(event.result[i]);
    The drawbacks of this approach is that it now requires 2 extra instance creations per object serialization.   One on recieving the object from the server and one sending it to the server.    I assume copying references are pretty efficient.  But, there is probably some GC issues.     The worst of it is in code maintenance.   The load function now has to be manually maintained and kept in sync with the server class.
    It would be interesting to hear how others have solved this problem.      The server side is an existing application with around 2M LOC, so changing the code on the server is a non-starter.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Strange error in explicit instance creation

    Dear all,
    using NW2004s I have a strange error while explicit instance creation:
    Let´s say I have a class a in the Class Builder calles c1. With method "check_data".
    In my program I do the following:
    DATA: ref_chk TYPE REF TO object.
    create object ref_chk type ('C1').
    c1->check_data( );
    If I do so I get an syntax error: The method check_data is unknown, private or protected.
    But the method is public.
    I need the explicite instance creation beacuse the class changes and I want to set it with a variable.
    Any idea what´s wrong? How can I solve the problem?
    Regards
    Roman

    Hi Roman,
    The best way to do this would be to use an Interface and then cast the class to an interface type once it has been created. However if this is not possible (i.e. the interface is not fixed for all the different classes you want to create) you can use the following code to call your class.
    DATA: ref_chk TYPE REF TO object.
    create object ref_chk type ('C1').
    call method ref_chk->('CHECK_DATA').
    Just a note the 'CHECK_DATA' in brackets can also be replaced with a variable as in the follwing example:
    DATA: ref_chk TYPE REF TO object.
    DATA: method_name type string.
    create object ref_chk type ('C1').
    method_name = 'CHECK_DATA'.
    call method ref_chk->(method_name).
    Cheers,

  • XML document creation using reflection

    Hi all,
    I'm tyring to write a class which creates an XML document from objects passed in. For example, you call the add(Object) method and it takes your object, uses reflection, then outputs XML like this...
    <fieldName>fieldValue<fieldName>
    The only problem is that after looking through this forum I am a little concerned about the performance of my proposed solution (using reflection).
    The class will be used in a batch process which processes millions of objects (to generate a whopping XML file that'll be sent on for further processing by a third party).
    Is there a better way to do this than by using reflection?
    This class is going to be used by multiple batch processes hence there will be lots of different object types passed (they'll also be new ones in the future that we don't even know about yet) hence my reflection choice.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    The only problem is that after looking through this
    forum I am a little concerned about the performance of
    my proposed solution (using reflection).The only way that you'll know for sure is if you try it out. Write the code, test it, then run it in a profiler to find out where the performance problems (if any) are.
    Is there a better way to do this than by using
    reflection?Probably not, if you want to pass any arbitrary object to it.
    One possible alternative is to have "XML aware" objects: define an interface WritesXML, that defines a method toXML(). You then check to see whether the given object implements this interface, and if it does you simply call the method, otherwise you use reflection.
    Another alternative, assuming that your objects follow the Bean pattern, is to create "XML-ifiers" on the fly, similar to the way an app-server handles JSPs. First time you see an object you create a class that will write it to XML, then compile this class and invoke it for all subsequent objects. This will require that you have a JDK installed on the runtime machine, that the objects follow the Bean pattern, and that the number of instances of a given class are very high.
    This class is going to be used by multiple batch
    processes hence there will be lots of different object
    types passed (they'll also be new ones in the future
    that we don't even know about yet) hence my reflection
    choice.Sounds like a good reason to use reflection.

  • Process instance creation on 5.5 from a process A to a process B Dif engine

    Process Instance creation on 5.5 from a Process A to a Process B on different engine.
    I have 5.5 enterprise with 2 engines.
    I want to create a process instance from process a to process b
    this is the example that is working if processes are deployed on the same engine
    argumentos = this.buildInstanceArgs(arg_processID : AltaDeCuentas, arg_xmlObj : xmlObj);
    suc = suc + "/AltaDeCuentasSucursales";
    ProcessInstance.create(processId : suc, arguments : argumentos, argumentsSetName : "BeginIn");
    break;
    This example uses the OU and the process id I also need to set the engine where the process is deployed
    Thanks In advance!
    Nico

    Hi, just an update, at least now I have an error message on the first button,
    there was a condition that I left over preventing it to work,
    I have also amended the JavaScript code removing " from the "dataType"
    Its now
    function PrintSelectedItems()
    var r = confirm("In print selected items");
    apex.server.process('DISPLAY_SELECTED_ITEMS',
    {"x01": "Sent from Page 5",
    dataType: "text"},
    {success: function(data){alert("here->" + data);}}
    and I get Error: parsererror - SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character

  • Dynamic class loading problem using unknown JAR archive and directory names

    I read the following article, which enlightened me a lot:
    Ted Neward: Understanding Class.forName().
    However, it took me some while to understand that my problem is the other way around:
    I know the name of the class, I know the name of the method,
    but my program/JVM does not know where to load the classes from.
    Shortly, my problem is that the server engine that I am writing
    uses two different versions of the same library.
    So I am trying out the following solution:
    My program is named TestClassPathMain.java
    Assume the two libraries are named JAR1.jar and JAR2.jar
    and the class/instance method that should
    be exposed to TestClassPathMain.java by them is named
    TestClass1.testMethod().
    As long as I was depending on just one library,
    I put JAR1.jar in the classpath before starting java,
    and I was happy for a while.
    At the moment I got the need to use another version of
    TestClass1.testMethod() packaged in JAR2.jar,
    a call would always access JAR1.jar's
    TestClass1.testMethod().
    I then decided to remove JAR1.jar from the classpath,
    and programmatically define two separate ClassLoaders, one for use
    with JAR1.jar and the other for use with JAR2.jar.
    However, the problem is only partly solved.
    Please refer to the enclosed code for details.
    (The code in the JAR1.jar/JAR2.jar is extremely simple,
    it just tells (by hardcoding) the name of the jar it is packaged in
    and instantiates another class packaged in the same jar using
    the "new" operator and calls a method on it. I don't enclose it.)
    The TestClassPathMain.java/UC1.java/UC2.java code suite was
    successfully compiled with an arbitrary of JAR1 or JAR2 in the classpath,
    however removed from the classpath at runtime.
    (I know that this could have been done (more elegantly...?) by producing an Interface,
    but I think the main problem principle is still untouched by this potential lack of elegancy(?))
    1) This problem should not be unknown to you experts out there,
    how is it generally and/or most elegantly solved?
    The "*** UC2: Variant 2" is the solution I would like best, had it only worked.
    2) And why arent "*** UC2: Variant 2" and
    "*** static UC2: Variant 2" working,
    while "*** Main: Variant 2" is?
    3) And a mal-apropos:
    Why can't I catch the NoClassDefFoundError?
    The output:
    *** Main: Variant 1 JAR 1 ***:
    Entering TestClass1.testMethod() packaged in JAR1.jar

    2. i need to load the class to the same JVM (i.e. to
    the same environment) of the current running
    aplication, so that when the loaded class is run, it
    would be able to invoke methods on it!!!
    ClassLoader(s) do this. Try the URLClassLoader.
    (I was talking about relatively esoteric "security"
    issues when I mentioned the stuff about Class objects
    "scope".) You might use the URLClassLoader kind of
    like this.
    Pseudo-code follows:
    // setup the class loader
    URL[] urls = new URL[1];
    urls[0] = new URL("/path/to/dynamic/classes");
    URLClassLoader ucl = new URLClassLoader(urls);
    // load a class & use make an object with the default constructor
    Object tmp = ucl.loadClass("dynamic.class.name").newInstance();
    // Cast the object to a know interface so that you can use it.
    // This may be used to further determine which interface to cast
    // the class to. Or it may simply be the interface to which all
    // dynamic classes have to conform in your program.
    InterfaceImplementedByDynamicClass loadedObj =
        (InterfaceImplementedByDynamicClass)tmp;It's really not as hard as it sounds, just write a little test of
    this and you will see how it works.

  • Binding a JavaFX variable to a Java class instance variable

    Hi,
    I am pretty new to JavaFX but have been developing in Java for many years. I am trying to develop a JavaFX webservice client. What I am doing is creating a basic scene that displays the data values that I am polling with a Java class that extends Thread. The Java class is reading temperature and voltage from a remote server and storing the response in an instance variable. I would like to bind a JavaFx variable to the Java class instance variable so that I can display the values whenever they change.
    var conn: WebserviceConnection; // Java class that extends Thread
    var response: WebserviceResponse;
    try {
    conn = new WebserviceConnection("some_url");
    conn.start();
    Thread.sleep(10000);
    } catch (e:Exception) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    def bindTemp = bind conn.getResponse().getTemperature();
    def bindVolt = bind conn.getResponse().getVoltage();
    The WebserviceConnection class is opening a socket connection and reading some data in a separate thread. A regular socket connection is used because the server is not using HTTP.
    When I run the application, the bindTemp and bindVolt are not updated whenever new data values are received.
    Am I missing something with how bind works? Can I do what I want to do with 'bind'. I basically want to run a separate thread to retrieve data and want my UI to be updated when the data changes.
    Is there a better way to do this than the way I am trying to do it?
    Thanks for any help in advance.
    -Richard

    Hi,
    If you don't want to constantly poll for value change, you can use the observer design pattern, but you need to modify the classes that serve the values to javafx.
    Heres a simple example:
    The Thread which updates a value in every second:
    // TimeServer.java
    public class TimeServer extends Thread {
        private boolean interrupted = false;
        public ValueObject valueObject = new ValueObject();
        @Override
        public void run() {
            while (!interrupted) {
                try {
                    valueObject.setValue(Long.toString(System.currentTimeMillis()));
                    sleep(1000);
                } catch (InterruptedException ex) {
                    interrupted = true;
    }The ValueObject class which contains the values we want to bind in javafx:
    // ValueObject.java
    import java.util.Observable;
    public class ValueObject extends Observable {
        private String value;
        public String getValue() {
            return this.value;
        public void setValue(String value) {
            this.value = value;
            fireNotify();
        private void fireNotify() {
            setChanged();
            notifyObservers();
    }We also need an adapter class in JFX so we can use bind:
    // ValueObjectAdapter.fx
    import java.util.Observer;
    import java.util.Observable;
    public class ValueObjectAdapter extends Observer {
        public-read var value : String;
        public var valueObject : ValueObject
            on replace { valueObject.addObserver(this)}
        override function update(observable: Observable, arg: Object) {
             // We need to run every code in the JFX EDT
             // do not change if the update method can be called outside the Event Dispatch Thread!
             FX.deferAction(
                 function(): Void {
                    value = valueObject.getValue();
    }And finally the main JFX code which displays the canging value:
    // Main.fx
    import javafx.stage.Stage;
    import javafx.scene.Scene;
    import javafx.scene.text.Text;
    import javafx.scene.text.Font;
    import threadbindfx.TimeServer;
    var timeServer : TimeServer;
    var valueObjectAdapter : ValueObjectAdapter = new ValueObjectAdapter();
    timeServer = new TimeServer();
    valueObjectAdapter.valueObject = timeServer.valueObject;
    timeServer.start();
    Stage {
        title: "Time Application"
        width: 250
        height: 80
        scene: Scene {
            content: Text {
                font : Font {
                    size : 24
                x : 10, y : 30
                content: bind valueObjectAdapter.value;
    }This approach uses less cpu time than constant polling, and changes aren't dependent on the polling interval.
    However this cannot be applied to code which you cannot change obviously.
    I hope this helps.

  • Which Event Classes i should use for finding good indexs and statistics for queries in SP.

    Dear all,
    I am trying to use pro filer to create a trace,so that it can be used as workload in
    "Database Engine Tuning Advisor" for optimization of one stored procedure.
    Please tel me about the Event classes which i  should use in trace.
    The stored proc contains three insert queries which insert data into a table variable,
    Finally a select query is used on same table variable with one union of the same table variable, to generate a sequence for records based on certain condition of few columns.
    There are three cases where i am using the above structure of the SP, so there are three SPS out of three , i will chose one based on their performance.
    1) There is only one table with three inserts which gets  into a table variable with a final sequence creation block.
    2) There are 15 tables with 45 inserts , which gets into a tabel variable with a final
    sequence creation block.
    3)
    There are 3 tables with 9 inserts , which gets into a table variable with a final
    sequence creation block.
    In all the above case number of record will be around 5 lacks.
    Purpose is optimization of queries in SP
    like which Event Classes i should use for finding good indexs and statistics for queries in SP.
    yours sincerely

    "Database Engine Tuning Advisor" for optimization of one stored procedure.
    Please tel me about the Event classes which i  should use in trace.
    You can use the "Tuning" template to capture the workload to a trace file that can be used by the DETA.  See
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190957(v=sql.105).aspx
    If you are capturing the workload of a production server, I suggest you not do that directly from Profiler as that can impact server performance.  Instead, start/stop the Profiler Tuning template against a test server and then script the trace
    definition (File-->Export-->Script Trace Definition).  You can then customize the script (e.g. file name) and run the script against the prod server to capture the workload to the specified file.  Stop and remove the trace after the workload

  • Easily fixing parameters for instance creation script

    H all,
    In the classical instance creation scripts numerous parameters are repeated even if they are similar. For example, the directory into which saving the different tablespaces is often the same. Also i'm looking for passing them as parameters. My first tries give the following:
    -> In the .bat launching the creation:
    set MY_DB_USER=sys
    set MY_DB_PWD=change_on_install
    set MY_DB_NAME=DragNFly
    set ORACLE_SID=DragNFly
    set MY_DB_CREATION_SOURCE=F:\Oracle\oradata\Instance_creation_scripts
    set MY_DB_CREATION_DESTINATION=E:\Oracle_DragNFly
    set MY_ORACLE_BIN=F:\oracle\bin
    set MY_ORACLE_HOME=F:\oracle
    mkdir %MY_ORACLE_HOME%\admin\%ORACLE_SID%\bdump
    mkdir %MY_ORACLE_HOME%\admin\%ORACLE_SID%\cdump
    mkdir %MY_ORACLE_HOME%\admin\%ORACLE_SIDD%\create
    mkdir %MY_ORACLE_HOME%\admin\%ORACLE_SID%\udump
    mkdir %MY_DB_CREATION_DESTINATION%\%ORACLE_SID%
    %MY_ORACLE_BIN%\oradim.exe -new -sid %ORACLE_SID% -startmode m
    %MY_ORACLE_BIN%\oradim.exe -edit -sid %ORACLE_SID% -startmode a
    %MY_ORACLE_BIN%\orapwd.exe file=%MY_ORACLE_HOME%\Database\PWD%MY_DB_NAME%.ora password=%MY_DB_PWD%
    %MY_ORACLE_BIN%\sqlplus /nolog connect %MY_DB_USER%/%MY_DB_PWD% @%ORACLE_SID% as sysdba
    %MY_ORACLE_BIN%\sqlplus /nolog @%MY_DB_CREATION_SOURCE%\StartCreation.sql
    -> Then in the first sql file, fixing all the variables and calling the other ones:
    DEFINE MY_DB_USER=SYS
    DEFINE MY_DB_PWD=change_on_install
    DEFINE MY_DB_NAME=DragNFly
    DEFINE MY_DB_SID=DragNFly
    DEFINE MY_DB_CREATION_DESTINATION=E:\Oracle_DragNFly
    DEFINE MY_DB_CREATION_SOURCE=F:\Oracle\oradata\Instance_creation_scripts
    DEFINE MY_ORACLE_BIN=F:\oracle\bin
    DEFINE MY_ORACLE_HOME=F:\oracle
    connect &&MY_DB_USER/&&MY_DB_PWD as SYSDBA
    -- # The following files have to be stored in the #
    -- # same repertory as the present file #

    exit;
    -> Finally one example of use in CreateDB.sql is:
    connect &&1/&&2 as SYSDBA
    set echo on
    spool &&5\&&3\Create&&3.db.log
    startup nomount pfile="&&6\init_DB.ora";

    GROUP 3 ('&&5\&&3\redo_&&3.03.log', '&&5\&&3\redo_&&3.03bis.log') SIZE 102400K;
    spool off;
    As you can see a first problem is that i have to set the variables the first time in the .bat and a second time in the first .sql. I don't know how to use an unique file for setting all the variables i need.
    Second difficulty is: fixing names and directories is a first step but i would like to fix all the different size values in this same file. The goal is to have only one file with dozen of values to change before creating new instances instead of checking all the different parameters inside of the different files.
    What is your mind on this?
    Probably there are better examples that i don't found?
    Regards,
    Tif

    One error i didn't suspect -> don't using SID with lowercase and uppercase in the name.
    Thing i've forgotten to say: variables have to be set both in the .bat and the first .sql but they have to match too with values in the init.ora. That why i would like to simplify all these declarations with unifying them into a single file.
    If somebody can help me, please
    Tif
