Classes are not loading from WEB-INF/classes directory

Hi All,
I am in a deep troble because the class files in the WEB-INF/classes directory are not loading.
I have deployed the application in Tomcat 6 server. And stored all class files under WEB-INF/classes dirctory. But when I execute a JSP page, I am getting following error:
HTTP Status 500 -
type Exception report
message
description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.
exception
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP:

     org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:265)
     javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:803)The classes are available in the WEB-INF/classes directory and the folder name and package name of the classes are correct. I have also tried to execute the application by creating a jar file and put it in the WEB-INF/lib directory. But I am getting same result.
Is it the problem with Tomcat configuration? When I gone through Tomcat documentation, I get to know that the WebAppX class loader in Tomcat, loads application specific classes for a web application. Is it possible to start/stop WebAppx classloader manually?
Please help me to solve this issue.
Many Thanks,
Francis Lukose

Thanks for your reply, Soultech2012.
<%=new com.flt.Test().hello()%>is the only code in the JSP page. Just a single line. Nothing more than that.
The code in Test.java is as follows:
* To change this template, choose Tools | Templates
* and open the template in the editor.
package com.flt;
* @author Francis Lukose
public class Test {
    public static String hello()    {
        return "hello";
}Many Thanks,
Francis

  • Images not loaded from WEB-INF/lib/images.jar

    The images are found in root/images/*.gif, but not
    when jarred up and placed in the lib folder. I've looked everywhere
    for a solution but all I've seen is suggestions of other places to put
    the folder, or to add it to the classpath.
    The jar is being loaded but the images are not found. Or at least the images are not showing up - the table where the main image is linked expands to the size of the image when the path is correct.
    Does anyone know the solution to this problem? I don't want to just leave them in the folder at root level, because this does not work if I set a default url pattern for the control servlet.
    Thanks,
    Greg

    GregIf your planning to make the images accessible by normal html tags - img etc, then they cant be in a jar, and they must be in a location from which the container serves content - i.e not under WEB-INF. Unless you want to write a special servlet which does nothing but read the images and feed them to the client - but I wouldnt recommend that.
    Sounds like your using Struts, and sounds like youre not using weblogic since you wouldnt be able to serve even jsps (using forward) from under WEB-INF if you were. Putting jsps under WEB-INF sounds like such a good idea when using Struts, but in practice...

  • Classes not picked up from WEB-INF/classes

    Some classes could be found from WEB-INF/classes by JSP pages but some others could not.
    WEB-INF/classes is part of the classpath in JSP's point of
    view.
    And if explicitly import the class such as
    import abc;
    in JSP pages and the class could be found.
    Anybody has any idea? Or anything wrong I am doing?

  • Delta records are not loading from DSO to info cube

    My query is about delta loading from DSO to info cube. (Filter used in selection)
    Delta records are not loading from DSO to Info cube. I have tried all options available in DTP but no luck.
    Selected "Change log" and "Get one request only" and run the DTP, but 0 records got updated in info cube
    Selected "Change log" and "Get all new data request by request", but again 0 records got updated
    Selected "Change log" and "Only get the delta once", in that case all delta records loaded to info cube as it was in DSO and  gave error message "Lock Table Overflow" .
    When I run full load using same filter, data is loading from DSO to info cube.
    Can anyone please help me on this to get delta records from DSO to info cube?
    Thanks,
    Shamma

    Data is loading in case of full load with the same filter, so I don't think filter is an issue.
    When I follow below sequence, I get lock table overflow error;
    1. Full load with active table with or without archive
    2. Then with the same setting if I run init, the final status remains yellow and when I change the status to green manually, it gives lock table overflow error.
    When I chnage the settings of DTP to init run;
    1. Select change log and get only one request, and run the init, It is successfully completed with green status
    2. But when I run the same DTP for delta records, it does not load any data.
    Please help me to resolve this issue.

  • Class not found in web-inf/classes folder of war file within ear file

    Hi all,
              I am using Weblogic 8.1 sp4. I have a war file within an ear file. I am trying to deploy the war file with a few classes within its web-inf/classes folder, however when the classes are in that folder I consistently get a class not found exception when trying to instantiate them. If I package the classes in a jar file and then put that jar file within the web-inf/lib folder of the war, the classes are also not found.
              If I put these two classes in the app-inf/classes folder of the ear file, everything works as expected and the classes are found.
              Any ideas of why this is happening. This seems to be a very simple thing that should work, but appears to not be working at all.
              thanks in advance for any suggestions or ideas.

    Hi,
              This is a known limitation/issue with WL. There is also no way around this.
              Regards,

  • Images are not loading from initial domain when using a cdn

    Hello, i have a wordpress website on which i set the w3 total cache plugin with a cdn, the cdn is MaxCDN and is configured to not serve images but only css & js & font files. Because i configured the cdn not to serve images, the images in css files have the src as absolute path, path which point to original website domain, something like this: background-image: url("http://www.originaldomain.com/images/back.jpg");, the css file is served from the cdn like this: http://cdn.originaldomain.com/css/style.css . So the problem is that firefox refuse to load the images referred in style.css file, images which probably appear to be in another domain. If i try to load the images directly in browser, using address bar, they are loading ok, but on loading from css file i got a http error 500 (acording to firebug). The same website is loading ok in other browsers: ie7/ie8/ie9, opera, safari and chrome. Can anyone help me to solve the issue?

    '''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
    ''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
    ''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
    '''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
    ''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
    ''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • Connected to home wireless but not loading from web

    I've seen all the answers here, especially some excellent and thorough information from user "Linc" but nothing is working for me.
    We have Comcast internet and the wireless network 'all of  sudden' last week was very slow on my Mac mini. My wife has her Dell laptop which has experienced no difference in service over the same time. So for around 6 months, all has been well.
    My Mac mini is about two years old and I'm on OSX 10.6.8. I've not made any system os changes in the last 6 months nor have I added any software besides Sophos for virus scanning. However, as I mentioned, all has been well up until last week.
    Now, after restarting, google will come up and maybe 1 or two searches will work but then it just spins and spins. Nothing loads in either Safari, Firefox or Chrome. I tried using Firebug to see if I could get some message about the network but nope. Full strength on the signal and connecting to the actual network fine.
    First step I took was to reset the router; no difference. I also tried unplugging the router but again no difference on my Mac. Laptop still connected via wireless as usual.
    I then got rid of the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration files restarted to generate new files; no difference.
    My Asus Transformer tablet can connect to the same network just fine so it's definitely something on the Mac mini.
    The last thing I tried was shutting down, unplugging the machine for 15 secs; pluggin it back in, waiting for 5 sec and turning back on. No change.
    Besides any suggestions, I'd also like thoughts as to what could cause this from a process pov. No OS changes have been made like upgrads or system components upgraded which I could see could cause something weird but what else is actually 'in the works' that could cause such a problem? It doesn't feel like "the xx file has become corrupted".... because, well... how? How do "xx files" become corrupted absent of crashes, power-outs, viruses or system upgrades?
    Thanks for insights!
    Kelly

    I uderstand that the other equipment works but they will use different software to access DNS etc, appreciate it should not make a difference but, sometimes it does.
    This is an article for flushing dns caches, it is useful to do if you have dns problems.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5343
    I think I am correct that in SL the DNS resolver is different for web browsing or the terminal commands, one uses the newer mDNSresponder the other  resolver. If I am wrong someone will put me right.
    SL had a few problems with this system when first introduced, the main one seemed to the prefetch which was too high for some systems, that is why I suggested it as a possibility.
    No other ideas for now, see if anything comes to mind tomorrow.

  • When I close Firefox and re-open it, all previously cached images are NOT loaded from cache. Why?

    I have a website. Google recommended page-speed and I had previously installed fire-bug. I open Firefox and inspect my website - the home page loads in approx 2 seconds. I may follow a variety of links and all images ( expiry life of 3 months ), css and js files ( expiry life 1 hour ) are cached so that each screen loaded takes less time. If I close firefox get on with other work and then re-open it, its like the images were never cached - what's the point of caching if its ignored?

    Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox or use cleanup software that clears session data (sessionstore.js)

    How can I add my contacts to the iphone 3?  I have a t-mobile account and cannot load up the contacts at all

    That looks like you copied some obsolete versions of those plugins into the CS4 plugins folder.
    That or you ran a utility that stripped part of the binary data (PPC or x86) from the plugins.

  • JAR in a WAR Classloading a .class from the WARs web-inf/class

    A little backround on my environment:
    I have a jar that contains some common functionality (common.jar) that is shared among all my web apps. There is a scheduler function in the JAR that queries the applications datasource for schedules to run. Each schedule contains a class that implements the interface ScheduleCommand and has an execute method. The ScheduleManager get the list of schedules from the db and uses a classloader to load the schedule command and call the execute method.
    ScheduleCommand cmd = (ScheduleCommand) Class.forName(scheduleCommands.getClassName()).newInstance();
    The issue:
    I have some common schedule command in the common.jar like clean temp folder, monitor memory, etc. I also want to be able to include additional schedule commands in the WAR that are unique to that web app.
    WAR
    --web-inf
    ----classes
    ------CustomScheduleCommand.class
    ----lib
    ------common.jar
    When I do this however the ScheduleManager in the common.jar is not able to find the CustomScheduleCommand.class in the WARs web-inf/classes. Do I need to use a different classloader or do I need to add a classpath to the manifest of the WAR?

    Hi Michael,
    there are diffrent options to do this, depending on whats needs to be achieved.
    a) Easiest way (but only possible, if no action has to go back to your template): Create an RRI-Jump-Target to your ABAP report
    b) Also only possible when no additional interaction on your template has to take place: Create a bsp and call the bsp when clicking on the button. Advantage in comparison to a) you could get a new window with for example a sucess or error message
    c) Use an own helpservice class. Now this as you have seen can get more complex, as interaction with your webtemplate can take place. In principal you need to create a class inherit from cl_rsr_www_help_window and overwrite the process_cmd method. Now you can paste your coding inside and you are finished (when you register the help service class to a web item).

  • Accessing file directory objects in 9.1 and /WEB-INF/classes zip

    It appears that in WebLogic 9.1 that the contents of the /WEB-INF/classes directory is being zipped up and placed in the /WEB-INF/lib directory under some arbitrary name.
    Is there a way to tell weblogic not to do this, but leave the /WEB-INF/classes directory expanded as it was in weblogic 8?
    Is there a particular reason, developers should be aware of, to why this is being done in 9.1 (9.x?)?
    Background :
    This particular app has a set of several hundred xml files that describe all of the screens (and thus the forms) of the app. They are used not only in the generation of the actual jsps (and believe it or not the action class as well as other supporting class, the app is really an interface to a legacy backend) but are also packaged within the WAR for the dynamic configuration of plugins used for complex validation; a quasi 'rules' engine.
    While there are several different versions of the app, and thus several different versions of xml files, there is only one version of the rules engine.
    The problem that has arised when running on 9.1 is the plugins access to those xml files.
    The plugin attempts to load the xml files by creating File object for the directory containing the xml files, and then iterating through the contents of that directory.
    The xml files are packaged within the /WEB-INF/classes directory and are thus accessible using a simple resource look-up (in actuality, a 'token' xml file is specified, looked-up as a resource and then used to determine the parent file directory's url).
    This has worked well enough as 'most' servers deploy the contents of /WEB-INF/classes directory in an expandable fashion. Obviously, this strategy readly breaks when those same contents are jar'd and placed in the /lib directory.
    It is prefered to not have to maintain a cataloge or index of the xml files because of the volume of xml files, the multiple versions of the xml files, and of course the volitility of the xml files, although this is an obvious option.
    I personally have mixed feelings about using a parent directory reference to load a set of resource files within a j2ee app. If anyone has any other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi,
    Usually, the best approach would be to just to load the resources as InputStream and have a catalog (and I know this is what you do not want to do :-) So the only hacky workaround that I can think of would be to use something like Jakarta Commons Virtual File System (http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/vfs/) and read the .zip

  • JARs in WEB-INF/classes on the classpath? [NEWBIE]

    Hello,
    I am under the impression that any files (including JARs and all within
    them) are on the classpath if they are in the folder WEB-INF/classes.
    I have a WAR file that contains a JAR file that in the WEB-INF/classes
    folder. The JAR file contains a class under the package structure
    "mvc.users.Members". I know its there as I checked the WAR file structure
    before deploying.
    In the WAR file I have a Struts RegisterAction class in the package/folder
    "mvc.registration.RegisterAction" which has the following code to create a
    Member object:
    Member member = new Member();The Member class is imported into RegisterAction using
    import mvc.users.Members;and JBuilder appears to recognise Members as on the classpath and compiles
    with no errors.
    My problem is after I have deployed the WAR file, submitting a form to the
    RegisterAction gets the error below:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Servlet execution threw an exception:
    root cause:
        java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: mvc/users/Member
            mvc.registration.RegisterAction.execute(RegisterAction.java:22)
            org.apache.struts.action.RequestProcessor.processActionPerform(RequestProcessor.java:484)
            org.apache.struts.action.RequestProcessor.process(RequestProcessor.java:274)
            org.apache.struts.action.ActionServlet.process(ActionServlet.java:1482)
            org.apache.struts.action.ActionServlet.doPost(ActionServlet.java:525)
            javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:763)
            javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:856)If the class "mvc.users.Member" is in the JAR file in the WEB-INF/classes
    folder and the "mvc.registration.RegisterAction" class in the WAR file
    does (according to JBuilder) see the "mvc.users.Member" class on the
    classpath and compiles... why then do I get this error?
    Thanks for your help.
    A Desperate Newbie,
    Mark

    I answered this in the JSP forum - you need to put JAR files in WEB-INF/lib.

    context. So there should be something else. Does anyone have an
    idea?
    Thanks.

    This is what I achived using the <metainf> tags from
    war task in build.xml. Look at the first code
    listing. The
    magic code is:
    <metainf dir="${meta.dir}">
    <include name="context.xml"/>
    </metainf>where ${meta.dir} is defined as ./meta and there
    resides
    the context.xml file (look at the project layout).Very good, thanks.
    Any guesses why Tomcat is not loading mysql jar from
    WEB-INF/lib directory?No. 8(
    My understanding is that JARs in the WEB-INF/lib are visible only to your web app. Those in /common/lib are visible to all apps and the container. Those in /server/lib are visible only to the container and no apps. It SHOULD work from WEB-INF/lib. I've done it that way, but it was an older version of Tomcat.
    Checked the Tomcat docs. They say to put it in /common/lib, but they don't explicitly forbid it in WEB-INF/lib.
    I'll try a simpler example.

  • Apps not loading from cloud

    My son just got a new iPhone 4S some of his apps are not loading from his cloud storage.

    That is not the way to get Apps, they can only be downloaded from the App store.
    Apps from a DVD will not be related to your iTunes account and therefore will not be transferred to your iPad.
    The only way to install Apps on to an iPad is to download them from the iTunes Store.
