Classes compile but program doesn't run????

Hello all.
I am working on certain program and all the classes compile but when I try to run the app. I don't get anything displayed. I am using BLUEJ as editor and I currently have JDK-1.3.1_06 installed. I am running WIN-2000-PRO.
I also tried running the program from command line and these are the errors I was getting:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: snapshop (wrong name: SnapShop)

at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(Unknown Source)
It says wrong name, but I am sure that's correct.
THANKS EVERYBODY FOR THE HELP.

nope, there is NOTHING WRONG WITH THE INSTALLATION
when you get "wrong name snapshot (SnapShot)" it means "I (java.exe), have been called with the arguments 'java snapshot', yet I cannot find the 'snapshot' class. However there is a class named 'SnapShot', which I think you may be referring to"
what command line program are you using? methinks something may be auto-lowercasing what you type before passing it on to the system
Also on unix style systems is it valid and runnable to have 2 classes where the only difference in the name is casing?

    I can see the Safari icon on my iPhone screen, but the program doesn't run. I have checked the settings and it is on and not restricted. It seems that the application has simply stopped running. The little "searching" icon just spins and spins. Can I delete the application and reinstall it?

    You can't delete it. you will need to do a restore.

  • Office 365 Error: We're sorry, but (program name) has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. (Program name) will need to be closed as a result.

    Today we had this error code on starting Office programs out of the blue. We've had this error in the past and we know what caused it, but that action wasn't taken. I've already read other posts, but no "Answer" provides a real solution to a clear
    problem with Office 365.
    The error: "We're sorry, but (program name) has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. (Program name) will need to be closed as a result."
    It offers "Repair Now", then the two following options: "Online" or "Offline". Neither are effective.
    In the past we used the Office 365 Fix It tool, but uninstalling and reinstalling Office on a regular basis is unacceptable. Resorting to web apps is also not going to happen.
    Running Win 7 Pro 64 bit, fully updated.
    We're starting to get fed up with this broken software. Paying monthly for programs that don't work is ridiculous. Any real answers would be greatly appreciated!

    Locate your Office application and check the setting of Compatibility.
    For example,
    Right click on Excel (.exe) > Properties > Compatibility > uncheck all the boxes, click Ok and check if it helps.
    To access Excel (.exe), open the following location:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\Excel.exe
    Or
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\Root\Office15\Excel.exe
    Try to open Excel and check if it opens.

  • Installed Adobe Flash but it doesn't run well on Chrome...

    First, sorry if my english isn't perfect. I'll try to make me understand..
    I have adobe flash installed on my pc. It works on Firefox. But with Chrome it seems it doesn't run well. I can see the videos in Chrome. But when I go on websites like Issuu.com to see a file (you know,like a book where you can turn the pages) it doesn't work. It doesn't even start. The same happens when I go on browser games that use flash: the screen shows the loading bar but at some point it stops loading (but it doesn't crash). In some other games it loads but the game looks with some errors and doesn't run correctly.
    I have uninstalled adobe flash then reinstalled it but nothing.
    I have restarted the pc but nothing.
    I have typed "chrome:plugins" and disabled one of the two adobe flash files but nothing.
    I have cleaned the Chrome cookies and cache with CCleaner but nothing.
    I have deleted the Flash Player folders but nothing.
    What else should I do? I have also reinstalled Chrome but still nothing.
    Can you help me?
    Below is an example of how an in-game pic looks in Chrome. It is cutted!

    What is your operating system & version?
    What is your web browser?
    You downloaded Flash Player, but did you also install it?
    What exactly means "doesn't work/run"?

  • VerifyError: Illegal local variable number. Class compiled, but run failed

    Environment:
    Visual Age for Java 3.5.3 (compiles to 1.2.2 class files)
    Runtime is the JRE 1.3.1 plugin.
    I have a class that VA compiles without problem,
    but when I use the compiled jar, the VM fails with
    the error
    java.lang.VerifyError: (class: <completeClassName>, method: <myMethod> signature: (Ljava/lang/Object;)F) Illegal local variable number
         at <rest of stack trace>
    I traced it back to the following piece of code:
    // produces failure
    BlockLabel: do
    if (true) break BlockLabel; // disable block for testing
    while(true==false);
    // produces no failure
    BlockLabel: do
    // if (true) break BlockLabel; // stay with test
    while (true==false);
    I am using these constructs
    with a labeled block,
    the do{..}while(true==false);
    and if(true) break BlockLabel;
    in lots of places in my code
    and it never produced any problems.
    So the VerifyError for "Illegal local variable number" must be due to some other reason. Can anyone shed some light on this? I have scanned the bug parade and have found VerifyErrors, but none with explicit mention of "illegal local variable number".
    Thanks, Sylvia

  • PCI-6509 example program doesn't run

    I can compile the "Write Dlg Chan-Watchdog Timer.dsw" sample program, but when I run it I get errors. Please help me to understand what I am doing wrong.
    Attachments:
    PCI6509_output.rtf ‏1 KB

    Anna,
    When I tested this example with the PCI-6509, I did not receive any errors. However, if I intentionally delayed the resetting of the watchdog timer, I was able to generate the -200644 error. The following function performs this reset:
    DAQmxErrChk( DAQmxControlWatchdogTask(wdTaskHandle, DAQmx_Val_ResetTimer));
    Did you make any modifications to the example? To troubleshoot this issue further, you should try increasing the watchdog timer's timeout using the following function:
    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateWatchdogTimerTask(device,"wd",wdTaskHandle,timeout,physChan,expirationState,NULL));

  • Using 3rd Party packages when creating jar - program doesn't run

    I am using the xerces and xom packages for xml etc in my program.
    It works fine when run from a command prompt, but as soon as I package it into a jar I get the java.lang.NoClassDefFound error for the nu.xom.Builder class (one of the 3rd party classes.)
    Reading through these forums has yielded several suggestions, none of which work.
    I am probably making some massive stupid mistake, but cannot see it...
    My manifest:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: 1.6.0 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    Main-Class: be.bavardage.vocab.VocabGUI
    Class-Path: serializer.jar xercesImpl.jar xercesSamples.jar xml-apis.jar xom-1.1.jar
    using the jar comand line prompt:
    jar cfm vocab.jar MANIFEST.MF be\bavardage\vocab\*.classCan anyone give me any indication as to what I am doing wrong...

    bavardage,
    I too am reading forum messages to try to do just what you originally wanted to do. I have 3rd party JARs and I have always first extracted them and then turned around and JAR'ed them up into my single Remote.jar (actually I'm so new to Java that I don't yet change things that aren't broken and this was working when I got it)
    jar  xf  jakarta-oro-2.0.5.jar
    jar  xf  jasperreports-1.2.1.jar
    jar  xf  iReport.jar
    jar cmf  mainClassSpec  Remote.jar  *.class  org/  net/  it/I am reading the forums for a way to NOT do this. My reason is because I want to make the application Java Web Start (JAWS) capable. By zipping all the JARs up into one I end up with a JAR over 6 MB! I am also adding internationalization and I really need to keep the ListResourceBundle classes in a separate JAR so I can keep adding languages and not cause the entire 6 MB file to be downloaded each time.
    Using Java Web Start is the real motivating force here. I need to keep all JARs separate so that when there are code changes or new languages only one small JAR will be downloaded again by JAWS not the huge iReport.jar file at 4,218KB nor the somewhat smaller jasperreports...jar at 1,225KB (at 64KB jakarta-oro...jar is hardly worth mentioning) .
    I will watch this thread to see if you or anyone else later comes up with the information to reference external JARs (while in a Java Web Start environment).
    So to put it in a question format, can anyone provide some information about referencing external JARs in a normal environment and will it work in a JAWS environment (I do know the technique for specifing and downloading multiple JARs in a JNLP file)?
    Hopi(ng)

    It's just starting the command lines one after the other and after that simply returns a success of starting all the commands.  Two things you should do to successfully use a batch file like this:
    Use start-wait constructions, so the next action won't start before the previous action is finished. For the exact command lines see:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb491005.aspx;
    First test the batch file with psexec, to see how it behaves with SYSTEM credentials.

  • I download updated versions of Mozzila (6.2) but it doesn't run, what to do?

    Several times when reminded I download the 6.2 version. It is downloaded successfully.
    However, several dayy later I'll get a reminder that I am running an outdated version of Fireforx...i.e. 3.etc.
    How do I get the download to run. Does it not start automatically.

    Try a Restart.
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
    You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
    Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
    Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

    Hi Robert,
    I apologize for the delayed response.  If you're still running into this issue could you try the following steps, they've helped others with this error in the past.
    Delete the following folders:
    [user]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR
    [user]/Library/Caches
    Also removed any references to the app, (original name & renamed), in:
    [user]/Library/Preferences
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • I would like to do a loop (with LabWindows CVI 5.0) if the result of the toggle button check box is right. But it doesn't run because I don't know how can I have this data?

    If you have an answer, please send me an e-mail.
    Thank you very much for your help.
    A French guy.

    Guess I'm missing something...
    The simplest way to do this is to use GetCtrlVal (panel, Control, &val);
    val (integer) will be 0 if checkbox is not checked, 1 if checked.
    Should your actual problem be different just explain me and I'll try to help you.
    Roberto
    Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.
