Classic table : multiple item in one column

Hi All,
Is it possible when using a classic table to put two db columns in one column item? I tried
concatenating but i can't specifically make the second value to the next line. I tried putting
html tags but messageStyledText just displays the tags, if i use formatted text it doesnt
put column headings, etc. I need some suggestions.
gregg

i used raw text.

  • ADF Tree Table - Multiple Commandlinks in one column

    Hi,
    We are building a hierarchy using tree table. The hierarchy looks as follows
    +Root Object
    ++ Child Object One
    +++ Child 1.1
    +++ Child 1.2
    +++ Child 1.3
    ++ Child OBject Two
    At each level, the object is used by more than one users. We want to display the list of users who are using that object in one the column called "Users". We want to provide hyperlink to each of the user that is displayed here. So my question so how do we build set of af:commandlinks with in one column? Or is there any other way this problem can be solved? What is ADF recommended pattern here?
    Thanks,

    How about putting a af:panelGroupLayout in the column and add multiple af:commandLinks into the panel=

    Hi Ron,
    On the right side of the Toolbar click the Sort and Filter button, then select Sort.
    You can then set up a multiple column sort.

  • Find and replace an item in one column only

    I have tried and tried and I cannot work out how to find and replace an item in one column only.
    For example one column has a letter followed by a number which varies in length.
    I want to find and repace the letters with nothing leaving the numbers only.
    But when I try to do this all the letters in the spreadheet are replaced, not just in the column I have selected.
    Help please....

    Hi 8'
    Use a formula.
    Insert a (temporary) auxiliary column to the right of the one for which you want to male the changes.
    Assuming you description is accurate—every entry in the column consists of a letter followed immediately by a number of one or more digits—the problen could also be stated as  "How do I strip the first character from a string?"
    Here's a sample. Letter followed by number in column B; number part without leading letter i column C:
    Formula:
    C2, and filled down to end of column: =RIGHT(B,LEN(B)-1)
    When the formula has done its work:
    Select all of column C (except the ehader row cell), and Copy.
    Select cell B2, and go Edit > Paste Values.
    Select column C again and go Table (menu) > Delete column.

  • Deleting multiple items in one click

    Hi Guys
    My iTunes has been reset and has for some reason added all the songs on my computer twice = about 120GB when it should only be 60GB.
    I'm sure there used to be a way to delete multiple items in one click but the only way I can seem to do it is by doing it individually after click view duplicates, this clearly isn't practical for over 5500 songs.
    Thanks for the help!

    Thanks for the answer.
    If I understand it correct, If I have an invoice of 10+ items, there is no possibility to delete 5 items for example with one click?
    I have to the delete the 5 items one by one or delete the whole invoice and start again?
    Thanks.

    When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
    <li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    <li>Theme
    <li>Template(s)
    <li>Region/item type(s) (making particular distinction as to whether a "report" is a standard report, an interactive report, or in fact an "updateable report" (i.e. a tabular form)
    With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.

  • Formula to combine multiple fields on one column

    Hi All,
    How do you create a formula in the formula editor that allows you combine several fields onto one column. An example: if I wanted to combine a street address onto one column when it is several fields in the data base. I know I need to seriously work on my coding, because it probbably is not that difficult. I've tried slect statementw with Case True and different If then else statements, but I am not getting all of value to return.
    Regards-

    Hi Kyle,
    To avoid null values you need to convert "Default values for nulls" in the formula editor.
    Edit your formula
    {database.field1} + " " + {database.field2} + " " + {database.field3}
    and in formula editor at the top you can see a dropdown list with "Exception for nulls" change this and select "Default values for nulls"
    Now you can avoid the nulss in output

  • How to represent multiple values in one column

    Hi,
    I need some help in designing a schema for this problem.
    I have :
    - 4 domains
    - In each domain there will be many groups
    - users belong to multiple groups in multiple domains
    Eg.
    user1 might be in groups g1, g2 and g3 in domains d1, d2
    In a text file I represent it like this:
    user1 | d1 | g1,g2,g3
    user2 | d2 | g1, g2
    etc.,
    How do design a schema for this. I don't like the idea of having comma
    separated values in columns.
    Thanks.

    Good instincts. You don't want to have comma-separated values in a column, that violates basic normalization rules.
    You would probably want something like this
    CREATE TABLE usr (
      user_pk
      user_id
    CREATE TABLE grp (
      group_pk
      group_id
    CREATE TABLE domain (
      domain_pk,
      domain_name
    CREATE TABLE domain_group (
      domain_pk,
      group_pk
    CREATE TABLE user_group (
      user_pk,
      group_pk
    )where you create separate tables that map different things to each other. domain_group shows which groups are associated with a particular domain, user_group shows which users are associated with a particular group.

  • Return Multiple Items with One Lookup Value

    Hi there,
    Within my data set there are multiple values that I would like to return into a different table.
    For example:
    In the "players from australia" table I would like to search the main data set for the "AUS" tag in column B and then automatically display the names of those players.
    There was something similar posted a few days ago Search sheet and return associated values for multiple matches and I tried to apply those formulas to my data but it didn't work...perhaps slightly different application of the function.
    fyi: the "category" table is simply to add up the number of players from each country and return a numerical value, as opposed to the names. I also use it as the cell from which to determine which value to search and display, i.e. A2 for the AUS players to be displayed in the empty table.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Ed.

    You could try something like this:
    The formula in the Index column, copied down:
         =B2&COUNTIF(B$1:B2,B2)
    The formula in A2 of the Players From table, copied down and right:
        =INDEX(Table 1::$A,MATCH(A$1&ROW()−1,Table 1::$D,0),)
    To suppress the display of the red warning triangles, you can wrap that in IFERROR, like this:
         =IFERROR(INDEX(Table 1::$A,MATCH(A$1&ROW()−1,Table 1::$D,0),),"")
    This takes the value in row 1, appends the row number it's on less 1, and uses MATCH to find what row contains that value in the Index column of the other table. That row number is fed to INDEX, which returns the value from column A.

  • Retrieving multiple values from one column in SELECT statement

    Hi,
    I have a slight dilemma in that I'm trying to pull down all the values from a column from a select statement that includes some JOINS in it.
    If I run the query at the SQL Plus prompt, it pulls back all the values/rows.
    When I run the select (and prepared ) statement in my JSP, it only pulls back one of the 4 values I'm trying to retrieve.
    e.g.
    at the DB level :
    SELECT role_name, CC_ID FROM votetbl a
    INNER JOIN APPROVERS b ON
    a.BUSVP = b.BUSVP AND
    a.BRANCH = b.BRANCH
    WHERE CC_ID = 1688this will return:
    ROLE_NAME CC_ID
    ops 1688
    ops 1688
    comply 1688
    legal 1688
    comply 1688
    When run in my JSP, like so:
    String primID3a = request.getParameter("primID");
    Statement stmtovoter = connection.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);
    String prepvotSQL = "SELECT role_name, CC_ID FROM votetbl a INNER JOIN APPROVERS b ON a.BUSVP = b.BUSVP AND " +
                         "a.BRANCH = b.BRANCH WHERE CC_ID = ?";
    PreparedStatement prepvotstmt = connection.prepareStatement(prepvotSQL);
    prepvotstmt.setString(1, primID3a);
    ResultSet rest3 = prepvotstmt.executeQuery();
    rest3.next();
    String votecat = rest3.getString(1);
    out.println("Vote category: "+votecat);I only get ops returned.
    Do I need to run an enumerator? Or reqest.getParameterValues or use a while statement around the results set?
    Any feedback and direction here is welcomed!
    Thanks!

    Actually, I tried looping and still only get 1, but returned several times.
    i.e.
    PreparedStatement prepvotstmt = connection.prepareStatement(prepvotSQL);
    prepvotstmt.setString(1, primID3a);
    ResultSet rest3 = prepvotstmt.executeQuery();
    rest3.next();
    String votecat = rest3.getString(1);
    while (rest3.next()) {
    out.print("category roles "+votecat);
    }then I get returned the following:
    admincategory roles admincategory roles admincategory roles admincategory roles admincategory roles admincategory roles admincategory roles admincategory roles admincategory roles admincategory roles admincategory roles admin
    like so.
    Where as at the DB level I get
    ROLE_NAME CC_ID
    admin 1688
    ops 1688
    ops 1688
    ops 1688
    ops 1688
    ops 1688
    ops 1688
    ops 1688
    risk 1688
    comply 1688
    legal 1688
    legal 1688
    ops 1688
    comply 1688
    Maybe the while should go around the getString(1) designation? But I was thinking I'd tried that and gotten invalid cursor error
    Something is definitely amiss, between the prepared statement in the servlet and the SELECT statement at the DB level.
    I can totally hardcode the statement in the servlet or JSP and it will return one value potentially several times, but only one.
    Other times, it will not return a value at all, even though one resides in the db.
    Yet go to the DB/SQL Plus prompt and it returns perfectly. I can simply copy and paste the SELECT statement from the out.print line I made and it works like a champ in SQL Plus. Any ideas why the same exact thing cannot return the proper values within the servlet/JSP?
    Yeeeeeeesh!!! : (
