ClassNotFound exception(stub) when running server

Hi all,
I have written an RMI program. All fies are in same directory same package and same machine. When running the server it is giving ClassNotFoundException. Server is run from same directory as the files. I could run the implementation through its main method. What may be wrong with it. The registry is started from another DOS window(same machine) with CLASSPATH set to blank. I tried with setting classpath to the files directory. There is no security manager. This is full stack trace.
Hope anyone will help me and thanks in advance.

Hi,
I think that you have to run the rmiregistry in the
same directory path of your CalcImpl_StubNo, if you do that, your registry will never be able to supply the stub classes to client code - go read this

    Hi,
    did you check which servers has FSMO roles?
    You can do that via command prompt: netdom query fsmo
    For forestprep you must do that on DC which have Schema Operations marter role.
    Command
    Domain controller
    Number of times to run the command
    adprep /forestprep
    Must be run on the schema operations master for the forest.
    Once for the entire forest
    adprep /domainprep
    Must be run on the infrastructure operations master for the domain.
    Once in each domain where you plan to install an additional domain controller that runs a later version of Windows Server than the latest version that is running in the domain.
    Note
    Domains where you will not add a new domain controller will be affected by adprep /forestprep, but they do not require you to run adprep /domainprep.

  • RAR - null pointer exception message when running risk analysis

    Hi,
    We recently installed & configured AC 5.3, SP11 version. From the day1 we are getting following message in the log when running risk analysis in foreground, background, when scheduled batch risk analysis in full sync, Incremental sync mode.
    When I raised OSS message, they told that this is standard message when we use adaptive RFC connector in RAR. they proposed to use SAPJCO instead of Adaptive RFC connector to avoid this.
    But I am some how not convinced with the answer because no one reported this problem anywhere earlier.
    Can you share your ideas on this? I mean if any one got same message in any versions?
    I just wanted to know is this standard bug which is visible for all customers or some thing I did wrong?

    I'm working on a windowsNT platform. My jdk is 1.3.0. My IDE is jBuilder 6.0.
    It looks like I have to increase my stack size.

    Thanks,
    I am calling jndi code. I found a bug about this problem on the bug site. It's a bug in the jvm for java 1.3.0 It says I have to edit the stack size in the java.exe file with editbin.exe. The problem is, I don't know where to find this file. It's shipped with Visual C++, but we don't use that software here. The link to the bug is below. Thanks for the response.

  • IO no longer works when running on Linux

    Hi everyone,
    I have some code which was originally developed and running on a Windows environment, now I am trying to get it working under Linux. Some of the JSP file which output data as text files do not display correctly, I assume that if I change the JSP files to the UNIX newline characters this will fix the problem?
    The other issue is that there is some code which saves data to a file, the directory given may be local or on a network. It worked fine under Windows, but throws an Exception below when running under Linux even when using the UNIX like path structure (/machinename/dir/dir/filename). The code is below:
              byte[] data = /*method that gets the data to save*/;
              String fileDir = this.addExtraBackslashes(config.getOutputDirectory()); // getOutputDirectory sets the directory String
              String filePath = fileDir + fileName; // String fileName is set elsewhere in this code
              FileOutputStream fos = null;
              try {
                   fos = new FileOutputStream(filePath);
                   fos.write(data);
              } catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
                   // TODO Auto-generated catch block
                   throw new Exception("Error saving file:-" + filePath +", please check the output path in the configuration", e);
              } catch (IOException e) {
                   // TODO Auto-generated catch block
                   throw new Exception("Error saving file:-" + filePath+", please check the output path in the configuration", e);
              } finally {
                   if (fos != null) {
                        try {
                             fos.close();
                        } catch (IOException e) {
                             log.warn("error closing file stream:" + filePath);
         private String addExtraBackslashes(String s) {
              StringBuffer sbRet = new StringBuffer();
              for (int i = 0;i < s.length();i++) {
                   char ch = s.charAt(i);
                   switch (ch) {
                        case '\\':
                             sbRet.append('\\');
                             sbRet.append(ch);
                             break;
                        default:
                             sbRet.append(ch);
                             break;
              return sbRet.toString();
         }Anyone have any ideas of what could be the problem and possible solutions?
    Thanks,

    People would have more of an idea if you posted the full exception text and a clue as to which line it was thrown from.
    Also, WTF is with all the addExtraBackslashes stuff? It looks like it's going through and doubling-up each \ character. I'm guessing this won't do anything on Linux if you've configured your paths to use / instead, but even so, what did it do on Windows?!
    And what are the values of fileDir and filePath? Does fileDir end in a /? Instead of having to worry about that, you could use new File(fileDir, filePath) to construct an abstract path and pass that to your FileOutputStream.

  • Opening Excel Workbook Fails when run from Scheduled Task on Windows Server 2008 Rw

    Hi,
    I have a little vbs script that instantiates the Excel.Application object and then opens a work book to perform some tasks on it. The script runs fine when run from the command line. When I attempt to run it as a scheduled task (it is supposed to update
    data that is pulled from a SQL Server at regular intervals), it fails with the following error:
    Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file 'c:\test\SampleWorkbook.xlsm'. There are several possible reasons: .....
    The file does exist. The path reported in the error is correct. The account under which the task is running is the same account I use to run it from the command line. User Account Control is not enabled, and the task is set up to run with highest privileges.
    When I run the same script through the Task Scheduler from a Windows Server 2003 machine, it works without issue.
    I was just wondering if somebody on this forum has run into a similar issue in connection with Windows Server 2008 R2 and figured out what the magic trick is to make it work. I'm sure it is rights related, but I haven't quite figured out what which rights
    are missing.
    Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

    This is truly killing me ... trying to get it working on Windows Server 2012 without success.
    I desperately need to automate running Excel macros in a "headless" environment, that is non-interactive, non-GUI, etc.
    I can get it to work using Excel.Application COM, either via VBScript or Powershell, successfully on many other Windows systems  in our environment - Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7 (32-bit), etc.,  -BUT-
    The two servers we built out for running our automation process are Windows Server 2012 (SE) - and it just refuses to run on the 2012 servers - it gives the messages below from VBScript and PowerShell, respectively-
    I have tried uninstalling and re-installing several different versions of Microsoft Excel (2007 Standard, 2010 Standard, 2010 Professional Plus, 32-bit vs. 64-bit, etc.), but it makes no difference.
    Would be extremely grateful if any one out there has had any success in running Excel automation on Server 2012 in a non-interactive environment that they could share.
    ( I have tried adding the "%windir%\syswow64\config\systemprofile\desktop"
    folder, which did fix the issue for me when testing on Windows Server 2008 R2, but sadly did not resolve it on Windows Server 2012 )

  • I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build.  The same call works fine when running on the device

    I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
    I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
    The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
    I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
    I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
    By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
    Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
    Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
    Thanks!

    After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
    The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
    I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • SQL: Issue with running out of storage on server when running table-valued function

    SQL Version: 2008 (not r2)
    Problem:  I'm getting the following error message when running a table-valued function:
    Msg 1105, Level 17, State 2, Line 1
    Could not allocate space for object 'dbo.SORT temporary run storage:  141072001204224' in database 'tempdb' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files
    to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup.
    Request:  Could anyone tell me if there are modifications that I could make to my SQL code to avoid this storage issues?
    Thanks,

    well, did you either restart the instance or add another tempdb file (no restart required) to let other transactions  continue on the server.
    or check if autogrowth was limited, change that to unlimnited , to the transactions conintue..
    the function may be dumping the data on to tempdb, how much data are you excepting back...what are indexes on the tables
    Hope it Helps!!

    Hi Simon,
    Looking at the exception, it seems the machine is so slow that it could not give enough time for the report engines to start up can also result in this exception.
    Please try the following :
    Increase the callbacktimeout parameter for the report server. In server conf file that increase the callbacktimeout parameter for the report server from 1 minute (60000 milliseconds) to 3 minutes(180000 milliseconds)
    Thanks,
    Vinod.

    Jeff,
    Did you update the config.xml to add the EJBComponent element for your EJB
    to the WLI application? This must be done by hand.

    it is throwing a ClassNotFoundException.
    Some details:
    1) I am using WLI 2.1sp1 and WLS 6.1sp1 on Windows
    2) The EJB is deployed as part of the WLI application (the EJB jar is inthe %WLI_HOME%\lib
    directory)
    3) I can see the EJB in the Studio
    4) I can see the entry in the JNDI tree in the running server
    5) I am running in the "samples" domain
    6) I can run a standalone client and call the EJB just fine

    405 errors in the HTTP cycle
    Any client goes through the following cycle:
    * Obtain an IP address from the IP name of your site (your site URL without the leading 'http://'). This lookup (conversion of IP name to IP address) is provided by domain name servers (DNSs).
    * Open an IP socket connection to that IP address.
    * Write an HTTP data stream through that socket.
    * Receive an HTTP data stream back from your Web server in response. This data stream contains status codes whose values are determined by the HTTP protocol. Parse this data stream for status codes and other useful information.
    This error occurs in the final step above when the client receives an HTTP status code that it recognises as '405'.
    Resolving 405 errors - general
    405 errors often arise with the POST method. You may be trying to introduce some kind of input form on your Web site, but not all ISPs allow the POST method necessary to process the form.
    All 405 errors can be traced to configuration of the Web server and security governing access to the content of the Web site.
