  • If a customer has a zero balance in second local currency

If a customer has a zero balance in second local currency but some
balance in company code currency before clearing, we want to keep zero
balance in second local currency after clearing. How can we solve this
problem? Is it possible to clear customer open items using second or
    third local currency?
When the customers have several documents in different currencies, we
    have the problem below:
We want to analyze the customeru2019s balance in Euro and USD. (second and
    third local currencies)
However the invoices and some incoming payments have different document
currencies. Invoices are in document currency TRY, incoming payments
are in document currency Euro or USD. In this case, we plan to use
second or third local currency for deciding balances instead of first
local currency. But when we clear the documents using currency TRY
(local currency), system creates exchange rate difference for TRY and
also for the second and third local currencies. We do not want to have
foreign exchange differences after clearing, for the second or third
currencies since their balances were already zero. After clearing the
balances are not zero anymore, and we do not want this happen.
Thanks for your help in advance.

  • HT3702 Can you please let me know why my credit card bill for iTunes purchases are in USD not in Local Currency?  Thanks

I am a user from Taiwan, I wonder why my iTune purchase is charged in USD not in Local Currency.  Thanks.

Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.

  • View USD Entity in local currency in Workspace

How can I view a USD entity in local currency. I have a USD parent entity, that has 3 base child entities (MXN). Data is loaded to the base entities in MXN and translates to USD. I tried setting my POV to the parent (USD) entity and my Value member to MXN, but the parent entity shows 0. Any help would be appreciated.

So you want to see the parent entity (which is USD by default) in MXN? You'll have to manually run a translate. If you change the grid you described to show consolidation status rather than data, you should see a "TR" for Translation Needed. HFM only translates to parent currency during the consolidation, and I'm guessing the parent of this parent is also USD.
If you want to translate to MXN during the consolidation, one option would be to create an alternate hierarchy with an MXN parent and consolidate it.

  • Balances in Local Currency

What is the purpose and standard usage of this field in the GL Account Master?

    HI,
Indicator: Only Manage Balances in Local Currency
Indicates that balances are updated only in local currency when users post items to this account.
    Use
You would set this indicator for accounts in which you do not want the system to update transaction figures separately by currency.
Setting this indicator for accounts managed on an open item basis affects the clearing procedures. See the example below.
    Procedure
Set the indicator in cash discount clearing accounts and GR/IR clearing accounts. It cannot be set in reconciliation accounts for customers or vendors. Setting it in all other instances is optional.
It is usually set for particular balance sheet accounts including:
Accounts which are not managed on an open item basis and not kept in foreign currencies.
Accounts which are managed on an open item basis and have the same types of items posted in different currencies, but always allow clearing to be made if the local currency amounts correspond.
    Examples
You set up a clearing account for goods receipts and invoice receipts and manually post these items to it. You post invoice receipts in the invoice currency and goods receipts always in the local currency.
Invoice receipt            1000 DEM       600 USD
    Goods receipt                              600 USD
Both items can be cleared if the clearing account balances are recorded in local currency only. If you have not set the indicator for this account, the system will translate DEM to USD during the clearing procedure in order to determine the amount in USD required to clear 1000 DEM. If the translation rate is .65 USD per DEM, then the system displays 650 USD for the invoice receipt and 600 USD for the goods receipt when the open items are processed.
This means that to clear both of these items, you will also have to enter a difference posting for 50 USD, and the system will automatically make an additional exchange rate difference posting for this amount.

  • Foreign and Local currency balance difference in GL

    Dear All,
I have a GL for Bank in which entries are posted manually through F-02. GL is maintained on company code currency (Say INR). The transactions posted are in foreign currency  (ex USD).
when we check the balance of the account in FBL3N it is showing FC balance as zero and Local currency balance as 100 INR.
The above situation is due to the following
    Received Amount 100 USD @ 40 = 4000 INR (manually posted JV)
Credited amount 100 USD @ 39 = 3900 INR (Manually posted through JV).
As both the activity is done through JV the system dint prompt for exchange rate difference account. So no my question is:
    1. In this scenario, is there any why the system can automatically post entry to exchange rate difference Or posting Manual JV is the only way out.
    2. What is the use of Tcode F.05. What it actually does.
    Thanks for your valuable time.
Please let me know if you need any additional details
    Regards
    Naveen

    Hi
Since you do not have any parallel currency, The balance of 100 INR in Local Currency is correct.  There is no need to write it off.
My understanding is that the transactions are as below.
Transaction    Doc Curr   Doc Curr Amt      Loc Curr     Loc Curr Amt
    1                     USD            100.00                 INR                4000.00
    2                     USD           -100.00                 INR              -3900.00
    Balance                                0.00                                          100.00
You have a Bank Account which is maintained in INR.
In first transaction, you have a receipt of 100$ and bank has applied a rate of 1USD = 40 INR.  So the balance is 4000 INR.
Then you have made a payment of 100$  and bank has applied a rate of 1USD = 39 INR.  So you still have 100 INR.
That is not a gain or loos.  It is valid balance.
    Thanks

  • Open item mgt and only balances in local currency

    Hi ,
What is open item management and only banlances in local currency ?
for which gl accounts v select open item management and only balances in local currency
    Pls explain urgent
    Regards
    umesh

    1. Only Balances in Local Currency:
Indicates that balances are updated only in local currency when users post items to this account.
Use: You would set this indicator for accounts in which you do not want the system to update transaction figures separately by currency.
It is required to set theis indicator in:
    1.  cash discount clearing accounts
    2. GR/IR clearing accounts.
It cannot be set in reconciliation accounts for customers or vendors. Setting it in all other instances is optional.
    Open item management:
Determines that open items are managed for this account.
Explanation: Items posted to accounts managed on an open item basis are marked as open or cleared. The balance of these accounts is always equal to the balance of the open items.
Procedure: Set up accounts with open item management if offsetting entries are to be assigned to the postings made to these accounts. Postings to these accounts represent incomplete transactions.
    USE:
A goods receipt/invoice receipt (GR/IR) clearing account should be managed on an open item basis so that you can check at any time whether invoices have been received for the goods received for an order.
Set up accounts without open item management if no offsetting entry is to be made against a posting to this account.
Accounts that are managed on an open item basis include:
    Clearing accounts:
    Bank clearing account
    Payroll clearing account
    Cash discount clearing account
    GR/IR clearing account
Accounts that are not managed on an open item basis:
    Bank accounts
    Tax accounts
    Raw material accounts
    Reconciliation accounts
Hope this is helpful. Pleas assign points if it is.

  • GL account char - XSALH "Indicator:Only Manage Balances in Local Currency"

    Hello experts,
Regarding transaction FS00 or FSS0, i would like someone to give me a clear view of the utility of value field XSALH "Indicator: Only Manage Balances in Local Currency".
When creating a GL account, from a technical perpestice, in which case i should activate this flag and in which case i should not activate it ?
What are the different impact for the user, except the fact that balances are updated only in local currency ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nicolas GORECKI

    Hi
If the indicator Only Balances in Local Currency is selected in the master record, transactions figures are only managed for amounts translated into local currency.
You should select this field for clearing accounts where you want to clear accounts by assigning items with the same local currency amount with one another, without necessitating exdchange rate difference postings.
The indicator must be set in cash discount and GR/IR clearing accounts. This should not be activated for Reconciliation accounts for customer and vendors.
This indicator is usually set in balance sheet accounts that are not managed in foreign currencies.
IF this indicator is not set, to clear the open items, both the local and foreign currency amounts of the items to be clared must match. In such a case, it may be required to post an exchange rate difference postings.

  • Change of Local Currency from SGD to USD

    Hello experts,
Our company local currency is SGD and we have a second local currency in USD but the company wants to change the local currency to USD and the second local currency to SGD.
What is the impact of this and what are the configs and considerations needed?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
What is the impact of this and what are the configs and considerations needed?
Impact is very severe. Only recommendation is not to perform this excercise for running fiscal year. Let the fiscal year be closed firtst then you move. Please keep following in mind.
    1. Change company code currency to USD.
    2. Change Account currency of all G/L masters. If not chenged then only SGD will be posted.
    3. Make changes to Purchase order currency in vendor master. (if required).
    4. Consider controlling are settings. (very difficult)
    5. Change parrelel currencies in OB22.
    Caution
If you have any forex items, please clear them all or it cause you big trouble.

  • F5061  Balance in local currency EUR is too large for automatic adjustment

My Company code currency is EUR. The customer has made a downpayment in USD (say 100) and i am now to clear the same against invoice of same amount in USD (100 $) but its is resulting into minor differences in Local currency. I am getting the following error
Balance in local currency EUR is too large for automatic adjustment
    Message no. F5061
    Diagnosis
For postings in foreign currency, it is possible that the balance in foreign currency is zero, but not in local currency. Providing the balance in local currency does not amount to more currency units than the document has line items, the system adjusts the amounts automatically. If an automatic adjustment is not possible, the amounts must be adjusted manually in local currency.
    System Response
The document is not posted in local currency without adjusting the amounts.
    Procedure
Adjust the amounts in local currency.
How can i have the system automatically fetch the Gl accounts to post the exchange rate differeces.
I have maintained the settings in FBKP- Exchange rate differenes
    Thanks & Regards
    Pooja

    Hi,
I have the same problem; my company code is defined in HUF and I am trying to post a vendor invoice in Euros.
I have a 10% maintained there and still receiving the error, either for differences of just one HUF. The strangest thing is that differences are automatically adjusted (also for discrepancies over the 10%) when posting through FB60 but not when using FB01.
    Any idea?
Thanks in advance for your input.
    Best regards.

  • F.05 and "only balance in local currency"

Hi Dear,my client like to do F.05 (foreign curreny valuation) for all balance sheet account, but if you select "only balance in local currency" in GL master, then those GL accounts can not be picked up for F.05.
    SAP's suggestion is :
*For normal balance sheet accounts that record neither items in foreign currency nor open items, SAP recommends that you record the account transaction figures in local currency only.  You should select the "Only balances in local curr." checkbox to do this*
But if i want do f.05 for all balance sheet account,i should not select  "only balance in local currency" in GL master,am i right?

Hi,if you want do so then do. But do realy going to book all accounts in foreign currency???

Company code has 2 currencies ;Group currency is USD and Document Currency is GBP
This GL account is zero balance account . It has alredy set up in Document spitting customization setting
Through FB03 normal view we can see the zero balance  but while displaying the document general ledger view with option of group currency  ; it is showing zero balance for the local currency and  balance amount  for group currency USDu2026
Can I get any suggesion where should I need to check for this?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hiten,
We are on ECC6.0. For us the problem is ongoing production orders.
Based on SAP notes about excluding zero balance orders from settlement process, I tried to close such orders but system does not allow it as it sees the parallel currecy balance.

  • GL Master - Only Balances in Local Currency

I am curious when to check the 'Only Balances in Local Currency' (OBILC) box on a Open Item GL.  I've read information from multiple sources and interpret that it should be set on all OI accounts with a few exceptions like recon accounts for vendors and customers.  In my past experience OBILC was checked for most open item accounts but the company I'm currently with has the opposite logic.  With the box not checked, the clearing is process is quite complex and time-consuming.  We are on the classic ledger in 6.0 and have companies in multiple local currencies with group currency of USD.  Just looking for input because I'm doubting my interpretation of when to check this box.
As an example, the GL would be an AP accrual account with postings in multiple doc currencies.  The company code local currency is MXN, and Group Currency is USD.  Should the OBILC be checked?
    Any input is appreciated.

    Hi,
'Only Balances in Local Currency' (OBILC) is used when you do not want any foreign excange difference to be posted at the time of clearing. When this indicator is active, then the balances in database tables are updated in local currency only and thus the clearing can happen in local currency only.
In your below example scenario, you can chosse not to activate this check OBILC, if your company is not interested in doing foreign currency valuation difference posting.
