Clear UI Control of type Text Editor

Hi VC Experts,
I've made a VC application for update master data parameters. Additional the users can entry text in a comment field. This comment is stored as a document to the InfoObject. I don't read existing documents in Visual Composer (only write documents).
If I modify more than one Master data record, the content of the text field is still available from the first record.
How can I initiate this text field with blank?
Thank's for suggestions.
Thomas

you can try changing it through css: (corev4.css line 4923) add the following to your custom css and reference it in your system masterpage with
<SharePoint:CssRegistration name="/Style Library/en-us/Custom/custom.css" After="corev4.css" runat="server"/>
.ms-rtestate-write {
    color: black;
    cursor: text;
    font-family: arial;
    font-size: 12pt;
    min-height: 1em;
this will set default font to Arial 12pt on all Multi line fields try it in firebug or ie dev tools to see if this is actually what you want.
hope this helps somewhat.

  • How to clear the text in the Text Editor

    Hi all,
    I created a Text editor and also i am having language field in the screen.
    whenever i change the language auomatically the text has to change when the text exists for that
    language.
    this is working fine, but when the Text exist , the text editor should be blank.
    But it is carrying the Previous editor text itself into it .
    How to clear the text in the Editor.

  • Using Text Editor control in Visual Compose

    Hello,
    I have added Text Editor control in a input form with certain dimensions, but when I preview the form the text edit field has different height than my layout view.
    Do you know what am I doing wrong?

    Hello marcelo,
    When you check the configuration panel (on the upper- right side). There's an option in layout "fit content" this might be on auto, you could change it to actual size.

  • Using rich text editor in new asset type input form

    Hey everyone,
    I'm currently trying to create assets based on a newly created asset type (which I of course, created). However, the STORAGE property I declared in the asset definition file is to support formatted text, which would normally be pasted from word documents. Note that I'm using the Basic Asset Model.
    Thus, I need a rich-text editor to be used in the content input form. So, after looking at the tags reference in the developer's documentation, I thought that I could use EWEBEDITPRO to achieve my goal but there's always an error mentionning that the component can't be launched. I supposedly have to configure two parameters, one of them being the path for ewebeditpro.js. I looked for that but haven't found it. On the other hand, I looked at the Oracle WebCenter Sites Property File document and that one stated that EWEBEDITPRO is deprecated and not supported (?!?!).
    So in short, what can I use, as a rich-text/html editor?? Thanks in advance for any reply!
    Edited by: DigitalSelf on May 24, 2012 2:26 PM

    Thanks. From what I've read in the developer's guide, CKEditor was available with assets built from the Flex model. However, I'm currently having a hard time trying to display the content of an attribute with content input through the CKEditor, because it's stored in a blob. Although I've found several examples showing how to read the content of a blob, none of them worked for me...

  • Text editor control to be made non-editable

    Hello Experts,
    Need a small help from you people.
    I need to make a text editor control  non-editable,i n a sub-screen; depending upon the value of a field on the main screen. Can you please let me know of the easiest way out with this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kumud.

    HI,
    You can write a code in PAI of main screen. there by using loop at screen you can make that field editable or disabled.
    Code sample:
    loop at screen.
    ****condition for value check
    if screen-name = 'TEXT_EDIT_NAME'
    screen-output = 1.
    screen-input = 0.
    modify screen.
    endif.
    endloop.
    Hope this will help you.

  • How can I get a reference to all controls on a front panel of one type )for example of the type Text Ring?

    I'd like to set the strings[] property of all the Text Ring controls on a front panel at once without creating a property node for every text ring. How can i do that?

    > How can I get a reference to all controls on a front panel of one type

    >

    This is likely more complicated than making property nodes for each
    ring, but you can do it. Make a subVI that takes in a panel reference,
    reads the array of control references, loops through them looking for
    rings, and modifying the Strings[] property on each ring.
    The part of this that will probably be the least obvious, when you
    have an array of control references there are two ways to find out
    if an element is a ring. You can read the classID and compare it
    to the cla
    ssID of a true ring control. An alternative is to cast
    the control reference to a ring control using a Cast to more specific
    node and wire the error out to a case structure. The error case is
    where the objects that aren't rings will go. The success case case
    where you will have a valid ring refnum that you can use to modify
    the strings.

  • Clear the Text  in text editors

    Hi all,
    I had an requirement like 5 subscreens in a main screen.
    There i am maintaining text editors into 5  screens.
    where i am creating the  one editor and using the same for all  the 5 screens.
    But the problem is when i am changing the tabs for subscreens the text in the Text editor
    is visible from the previous screen because i am not clearing the text editor.
    I dont know how to handle this scenario.
    will anybody let mek now how to handle to clear the text editors.
    Regards,
    Madhavi

    Hi,
      when you are calling new subscreen (choosing different tabstrip), the PBO is executed. So just clear the content in the PBO. It is just enough to remember the OK_code(from PAI of previous tabstrip/subscreen) performed when you click on different tabstrip and check then in PBO this saved ok_code.
    If you don't know how to obtain ok_code value when you click on different tabstrip, just execute code "/h" in the input parameter where you put down tcodes before you click on the tabstrip. Tcode "/h" turn on debugging mode. Then you can get the value of ok_code in the debugger.

    Does anyone have any tips on how I would go about finding something like this?If it's included within the <tt>body</tt> element in the original page source then it's produced by something in APEX and the position in the source will give a clue as to where. You should also run the page in Debug mode and look at the trace to see if there's any clues there.
    If it's visible in the generated page source but not the original then it's produced by something dynamic in the page. Possibly some JS lingering from the previous theme?

  • Set default text editor (no type, creator or extension)

    I would like BBedit to be the default text editor not TextEdit.
    I work in Terminal a lot and often encounter files that were sent to me by someone using Linux and have no type, creator or extension. I want these to open in BBedit not TextEdit.
    The problem can be recreated like this:
    Create an empty file in the Terminal like this:
    %touch testfile
    Select testfile in the Finder and set BBedit as the application to open this file. Click the "Change all" button to make this global.
    I then get an error about there being not enough information. I'm given the option to update and I do.
    Then double clicking on testfile does, in fact, open the file in BBedit.
    Now the rub. If I then generate another file called testfile2 like this:
    %touch testfile2
    Testfile 2 opens in TextEdit when double clicked in the Finder.
    What am I doing wrong?

    I'm not sure how to set a default for files like that. What I do for files that aren't cooperative like that is just have BBEdit (well, actually, TextWrangler for me) on the Dock and then just drag and drop them.
    You could potentially use an AppleScript or shell script to set the creator code to 'R*ch' for a batch of files. Type and creator codes used to be the Mac's alternative to extensions, but they were unfortunately left behind in Mac OS X, since the rest of the computing world didn't understand them. There's still support for them hiding in the OS, though. Looks like there's a script that'll do the trick here:
    http://scriptbuilders.net/files/setcreatorcodeofselection1.0.html

  • JHS setting for the Display Type of Rich Text Editor

    In the "Display Type" settings for an item, there is no option in the JHS Definition Editor to choose a "Rich Text Editor" type. Is that intentional or an oversight?
    Thanks,
    Gary

    Gary,
    don't know why it's left out, but you can implement a rich text editor with a custom template (that's the answer I got when I asked the question several months ago). Here's the template code I use for implementing a rich text editor in a table:
    #macro (EDITOR_POPUP)
    <af:popup id="${JHS.current.item.bindingName}Popup" contentDelivery="lazyUncached" eventContext="launcher">
    <af:dialog modal="true" resize="on" title="#TEXT_EDITOR_TITLE()" id="${JHS.current.item.bindingName}Dialog">

    simple="true" id="${JHS.current.item.bindingName}EditorText"/>
    </af:dialog>
    </af:popup>
    #end
    #set ($popupId = ${JHS.page.addPopup("${JHS.current.item.bindingName}Popup","${JHS.engine.fullNamingContainerPath}","#EDITOR_POPUP()")})
    #set ($popupDialogId = ${popupId.replaceAll("Popup","Dialog")})
    <af:panelLabelAndMessage #ITEM_RENDERED_IN_TABLE() #ITEM_PARTIAL_TRIGGERS() #ITEM_HINT()>

    What would be the database column type for that?As usual, the answer is "It depends".
    In this case it depends on the nature and size of the content. For content up to 4000 bytes in length, use VARCHAR2 or NVARCHAR2 (depending on the DB character set and globalization requirements), for content of longer length use CLOB or NCLOB (again depending on DB characterset and your globalization requirements).
    Note the effect of DB character set on the number of characters you can store in a VARCHAR2 or NVARCHAR2 column, and the overhead of HTML tags generated by formatting in the Rich Text Editor.

    Hi, I'm happy if I can help.
    * Can u please explain more about this editor . Is this editor specific to some encodings ....
    It's the netbeans IDE from www.netbeans.org it's a free integrated development environment for java. It includes many editors, for .java files, .properties files and many others. It is designed to accept text in the non-ascii format and convert it for use in properties files.
    * U said that as u enter the Japanese characters in ur keyboard the editor saves the characters in the unicode format. Are the characters displayed in their glyphs or as \u????.
    They are saved as ascii characters, not glyphs. For example, I entered MSGothic (MS&#12468;&#12471;&#12483;&#12463;) in japanese using net beans and it looks like this when I use a normal text editor: MS\u30B4\u30B7\u30C3\u30AF
    * Can u give me a list of languages f or which this text editor can be used . Bcoz u had suggested that it can be used for chinese also .
    It should work for any language that your windows/linux system has support for (need the right fonts for a start). My system is native japanese, so I have all the required japanese fonts installed. If you want to use (for example) Chinese on an English system, you'll have to get the fonts and probably you will need to modify the jre/lib/font.properties file.

    I don't think it's disturbing anyone. Forums are all about sharing information, and there is a lack of experience of I18N in the broader comminity, I feel. This isn't a busy forum... ;-)
    Don't forget to look for the article written by John O'Conner called 'Displaying Text' I don't have the URL handy but it was posted on this forum recently. It's required reading.

  • Text Editor on modulepool Screen

    Hi,
    my requirement is to have two input fields on the screen where the user can input some text. when the user comes to the end of one field the cursor should automatically to the next input field.
    How to do this one.
    I thought of placing an text editor on the screen, can anybody give some sample code to place the text editor on the screen and at the desired position in my case it is in the middle of the screen...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kiran Kumar

    To put text editor on moudule pool screen,
    1. Add 'custom control' element on Screen : name it as TEXTEDITOR1.
    2. Declare the variable in TOP include as
    DATA :
    g_editor TYPE REF TO cl_gui_textedit, " Text Editor
    g_editor_container TYPE REF TO cl_gui_custom_container, "Container For Text Editor
    "Variables to Get the Content of the Text Box Editor
    DATA: line TYPE solisti1.
    DATA : it_editor TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF line.
    3. Put following code in PBO as
      IF g_editor IS INITIAL.
    CREATE OBJECT g_editor_container
        EXPORTING
           container_name = 'TEXTEDITOR1'
        EXCEPTIONS
          cntl_error = 1
          cntl_system_error = 2
          create_error = 3
          lifetime_error = 4
          lifetime_dynpro_dynpro_link = 5.
    IF sy-subrc NE 0.
        ENDIF.
    " TextEdit Control
        CREATE OBJECT g_editor
        EXPORTING
          parent = g_editor_container
          wordwrap_mode =
    "    cl_gui_textedit=>wordwrap_off
         cl_gui_textedit=>wordwrap_at_fixed_position
    "   cl_gui_textedit=>WORDWRAP_AT_WINDOWBORDER
          wordwrap_position = 128
          wordwrap_to_linebreak_mode = cl_gui_textedit=>true.
      ENDIF.
    4. Now to Retireve data from Editor in PAI write:
      CLEAR it_editor.
    "Method to  retrieve table from control (Text From Editor in IT_EDITOR)
    CALL METHOD g_editor->get_text_as_r3table
    " EXPORTING
    "  ONLY_WHEN_MODIFIED     = FALSE
      IMPORTING
          table                  = it_editor
    "     IS_MODIFIED            =
      EXCEPTIONS
          error_dp               = 1
          error_cntl_call_method = 2
          error_dp_create        = 3
          potential_data_loss    = 4
          OTHERS                 = 5
