Clearcase for JDeveloper

I've downloaded and installed Jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.0.
However this workstation is not connected to the internet.
How do I install Clearcase extensions so I can do version control.
Thanks,
Jason

Just expanding on what David told you -
What you installed on your workstation is the ClearCase Remote Client, which communicates with the ClearCase server over a web connection. This is a good choice if you are outside a firewall and the server is inside, because network administrators are often willing to open the firewall for port 80 - the default http port. Or if you are working over a WAN with slow communications to the server this might be a good choice. Unfortunately, the JDeveloper ClearCase extension wasn't designed to use the ClearCase Remote Client. If you are forced to use this, you will have to check files in and out manually, outside of JDeveloper.
Instead, see if you can install (ask your ClearCase administrator) the regular ClearCase client, which uses ClearCase's proprietary communications method. This will come with the command line program, cleartool, which is what the JDeveloper extension is expecting to use. It also comes with ClearCase Explorer - which is much better than Remote Client, IMHO.
If you Must use ccrc, there is one thing you might try - I haven't tried it myself. I've heard the the URL (the one ending in "ccweb") that you use to configure ccrc for connecting to your server, can also be made to function as a WebDAV server. JDeveloper does know how to connect to WebDAV. Worth a try.

  • Clearcase and JDeveloper integration

    Hi,
Iam working on integrating ClearCase with JDeveloper. I want to check in and check out files from the IDE directly. But during the process I encountered the following error. Any help is much appreciated.
    Tried the following:
    1. Downloaded/updated the clearcase plugin from the Help-->Check for updates link.
    2. Restarted Jdev IDE and was able to see clearcase menuitems (Versioning>>Connect to clearcase,Check In,Check Out etc)
    3. On clicking Connect to clearcase, I received the following error
"ClearCase executable (cleartool) is not installed or not located in your system environment path".
Is this expecting a Remote Clearcase Client executable?

    Thanks for the information.
Can you clarify me one point? - In this case , Is a remote clearcaseclient is required?? or I should have clearcase installed in my machine to do this Jdev/clearcase integration?

    Hi,
not quite sure the question is clear. The add cart command is a link defined in the JSPX file

  • How to use mapviewer extension for jdevelop?

I am working on the mapviewer. But my problem is that I can not connect mapviewer, or I can not start mapviewer using the embedded oc4j by jdeveloper. In mapviewer faq I read that:
"How do I view the mapping metadata through JDeveloper's Connections Navigator?
We have developed an Oracle JDeveloper extension that lets you browse the available list of styles, themes and basemaps defined in a datasource through JDeveloper's Connections Navigator. To do this, you will first need to download the mvconnection.jar file from OTN's MapViewer site. This jar contains the code that defines a MapViewer connection type for JDeveloper. To install, simply drop this jar file to the JDeveloper extension directory, normally $JDEV_HOME/jdev/lib/ext. Then restart JDeveloper, and you are all set.
But when I restart jdeveloper, I got the message:
    "H:\Programme\jdev\jdev\lib\ext\mvpalette.jar!\META-INF\jdev-ext.xml
Error: jar:file:/H:/Programme/jdev/jdev/lib/ext/mvpalette.jar!/META-INF/jdev-ext.xml<Line 105, Column 18>: XSD-2021: (Error) Element not completed: 'jsplibrary'

I use Jdeveloper 10g. Have you ever met the same problem?
    Thanks in advance

The Map Viewer extension is still not available for JDeveloper 10g. It works with JDeveloper 9.
The Mapping group is currently working on an upgrade.

  • Support for JDeveloper 10.1.3 on Windows Server 2008 64 bit OS

    Hello,
We are using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 (patch # 9879989) for R12.
Would like to know support for Jdeveloper on windows server 2008 - 64 bit.
    Thanks,
    Swati.

    Hi Swati,
Currently I am using Jdeveloper Patch#9172975 for R12.1.2 on windows server 2008 X64 and it works fine.
As Jdeveloper Patch#9172975 is lower version then Jdeveloper Patch#9879989, Patch#9879989 should work on Windows Server 2008 64bit.
Still I am not confirm about Jdeveloper Patch#9879989 on Windows Server 2008 64bit.
    Thanks,

Please share your idea and exepeience about right tool for Configuration Management (version control) for Jdeveloper Development. I used CVS in the past. Now In new company we are planning to use Oracle SCM. Is anybody used it before for Jdev Developmet ( BC4J/ADF and Struts project). Is SCM also intergrated with Jdev just like CVS.??

  • Looking for Trim Trailing Space extension for JDeveloper 10

I'm looking for the Trim Trailing Space extension version 10.1.3.2.0, for JDeveloper 10.1.3.5. I've tried the normal "Check for Updates", but the zip file that it tries to download doesn't exist. The version I'm looking for is listed on the download page here: http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/130355.xml, but the download link for it is broken. (I've also tried installing the latest version for JDeveloper 11, but it won't seem to install.)
Does anyone know if older versions of the Trim Trailing Space extension are still available? If so, where can they be downloaded?

    Rob,
I sent an email to Chris (the author of the extension) and he has now recreated the extension for the 10.1.3.5 version that you are looking for. He added it to his download page on the Google Code.
Here is a link to the file:
    http://code.google.com/p/jdev-trimtrailingspaces/downloads/list?can=4&q=&colspec=Filename+Summary+Uploaded+Size+DownloadCount
I'll work on getting the Update Center corrected as well, but this should get you going for now.

  • Classroom Courses for JDeveloper 10g

I'd like you all to know that the first teaching events for our JDeveloper 10g production courses are now scheduled. You can register for the new "Java Programming" course (May 17-21 in Mississauga, Canada) and the "Build Applications with ADF" course (May 24-28 in Reston, VA).
These first production teaches are "proving" events; a regular schedule at various global locations will follow, after these events are completed. But the above events are an early chance to grab a full week of training.
You can find details (and register) for JDeveloper 10g classes through this link:

Also I have tried for two days to make the Java Portlet Wizard work with 10G with no luck. Why are they posting somehting that doesn't work? This is really frustrating.

  • Uml tools for jdeveloper

    hi
is there any UML Tools for JDeveloper that works on windows and mac or any one of them that does code engineering and database modeling also ?

It includes Class diagrams, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, use case diagrams, etc.

  • Sun Studio 11 with Rational ClearCase (for its VCS)

I'm trying to use Sun Studio 11 with Rational ClearCase.
IMHO, it is possible to use ClearCase in it as a VCS,
because an error message in Sun Studio 11 indicated http://vcsgeneric.netbeans.org/profile/ to add external VCS support.
    Then, my questions are...
    1. Is it possible to use Rational ClearCase for the VCS?
    2. If it is possible, which module do I have to get from the site
    (http://vcsgeneric.netbeans.org/profiles/)?
    3. How to Install it into Sun Studio 11?
    Thanks in advance.

First of all - Sun Studio IDE is shipped without Clear Case support,
and there is no official way to add this feature. Technically it is possible
to add a plugin module, compatible with NetBeans 3.5, which will
provide Clear Case support, but it is not a supported configuration.
So it is not recommended to experiment with a Sun Studio installation,
which is used in real job. The answers below are mostly my guess,
because we did not try Sun Studio with Clear Case.
    1. Is it possible to use Rational ClearCase
for the VCS?Yes, I think there is a ClearCase plugin module for Netbeans 3.5:
    http://vcsgeneric.netbeans.org/profiles/index.html
    2. If it is possible, which module do I have to get
    from the site
    (http://vcsgeneric.netbeans.org/profiles/)?
    I think this one:
    http://vcsgeneric.netbeans.org/files/documents/67/117/clearcase-profile.nbm
. How to Install it into Sun Studio 11?You have to be able to write to the installation tree, which means you
have to be root, or you have to change access modes. This module
will be installed in /opt/netbeans/3.5V11/ directory, so this directory
and its subdirectories should be writable for you. You have to start
Netbeans using script /opt/netbeans/3.5V11/ bin/runide.sh, and
upgrade it with the new plugin module. I can provide more details,
but I want to repeat again, that this is unsupported configuration,
so if you want to try it on your own system as an experiment -
let me know, I'll describe the process in details.
    Sorry about this problem.
    Thanks,
    Nik

  • Develop a plugin for Jdeveloper

    Sure there is.
There is an Extension API that you can use.
