Clearing Alerts when triggering value no longer applies

On my grid control there is a Critical Alert: Tablespace TBSPCE is 99 percent full.
This was triggered in April, 2011. Since then I've done some re-ord and added space.
When I try to manually clear it, it refuses
Now the Grid Control has a "Last Collected Value" of 56.47.
The "Last Collected Timestamp" is July 15, 12:41 (about 40 minutes ago local time)
Clicking on the Message link I got onto the page where I can re-evaluate the Alert.
It comes back as Critical. How can this be?
I checked the Metric and Policy Settings, and the values there are Warning(90), Critical (97).
Can anyone describe what's going on?
The Grid Control repository DB is 11.2.0.1.0; and the target DB is 10.2.0.2.0.

Please be carefull with deleting alerts!!!
I think that in your case you are hiting a DB bug, which is in 10.2.0.2.
You should understand that the original alert is not triggerd by OEM, but by the target database!!!
So, you should start to look for the bugfix for this issue on DB 10.2.0.2

Recently, I've encountered a problem about clearing alert when a null value is returned for a metric column. From Oracle official doc, it seems that NO_CLEAR_ON_NULL could be used for this propose. However, it doesn't.
Here is the line from doc, you can see when NO_CLEAR_ON_NULL is set as FALSE, the null value will clear alert, and the default value for NO_CLEAR_ON_NULL is FALSE.
NO_CLEAR_ON_NULL: This attribute is used to control severity clearing when a null value is returned for a metric column. It defaults to FALSE with the behavior that a null value ends up clearing previous alert severities. With a TRUE value for this attribute, null values will be skipped in severity evaluations without clearing the severity.

STATELESS_ALERTS: This attribute if set to TRUE indicates to EM that alerts on this
column will not have corresponding clears. This allows the UI to decide whether to

There is a variable command in SQL*Plus. It allows one to define bind variables. It is limited in the data types it supports. It does not support boolean as a bind variable type.
SQL*Plus is a CLI (Command Line Interface) client tool. It has a very limited vocabularly, allowing you to (primarily):
a) configure its local environment (e.g. size of the terminal ito number of characters per lines)
b) configure its bevahiour (e.g. spooling data to a file)
c) defining substitution and bind variables
And that's it. It is not PL/SQL. It is not SQL. It takes the PL/SQL and SQL you enter, and submit that to the Oracle server. (it does some basic parsing of the data to substitute variables and bind variables where applicable)
Do not confuse this CLI client tool with the server side PL/SQL or SQL languages.

working on File2File,Here i should map a constant value if a particular field has no value and also through an alert stating the field is empty.
I've done with assigning constant,but how can through alert for the same without using BPM.

You may check that if the value is blank, map to UDF from where you may throw the alert. In the UDF, you may execute any dummy expression that may throw exception through which alert could be raised.

Fire Fox no longer applies my UN and PW when I open a site. The function is not enabled. All PS are still showing in tools, options.

Your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: Open with) if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

Error: "client-error-request-value-too-long" when trying to add printer

Well, I tried all of that and I'm still getting the error message. I've also repaired disk permissions and run Disk Warrior. When I repaired disk permissions, many HP printer items showed up in the list.

Alert On UDF's when Duplicate value exists

I want an Alerts message on a UDF's Gate Entry Pass (G.E. No), when any duplicate value is entered in this UDF's.

OIM 11G - Roles, revoke when policy no longer applies behaviour

When two roles share one or more common resources, will the "revoke resources when policy no longer applies" behaviour preserve the common resources of the other existing role, when the other role is revoked?

As mentioned above, they will keep the resource as long as they are a member of a role that has that resource on the access policy.
If the access policy has a deny resource listed on it though, that will automatically revoke any instance regardless of other access policy the user has.

How to clear alerts from icalendar

I have two alerts that are showing up on my icalendar on my macbook pro. This alert is the same alert when your Apple devices show you have either missed a phone call/text/email. Does anyone know how to get rid of this?? Help!!

Plase post questions like this in the Enterprise Manager.
Alerts can be cleared by fixing the underlying cause (metric values that crosses thresholds setup). E.g. by adding space to a tablespace.

for this u nees the ccms configuration.
than you need to configure in RZ20 and RZ21.
steps.
1. create alert category in ALRTCATDEF
2.enter long text
3. add fixed recepient.
4.go to RZ21.
5. select display overview for method
6. serch for method CCMS_Send_Alert_to_ALM.
7. copy the method and create ur own Z method.
8. open ur method.
9. under control tab select ONLY IN CENTRAL SYSTEM TRIGGERED BY CCMS AGENTS.
10. in parameter tab give ur alert cat created before.
11.under release tab select AUTO REACTION METHOD.
12. go to RZ20.
13. a list of system will be displyed select ur own xi system
14. now select the queue name for which u want to trigger alert.
15.goto property button and double click.
16. go to method tab and click on method assigment.
17. goto method radio button and assigne the method u created in RZ21.
done.....enjoy....

Essbase clear script is triggered 32 times from FDM

Hi All,
I've created a simple clear script in the load action of the Essbase adapter in FDM.
When loading a short file the clear script runs very fast and no problems occurs.
When loading a long file (multiload 12 periods, 10.000 rows) the validation alone takes already 4 minutes. But the problem is that the clear script is triggered 32 times.
Every time exactly the same script (so it only cleares data the first time) but every time takes a few seconds..
Anybody a clue why this is happening and how i can solve this?
I'm thinking of triggering the clear script from an event script but not sure which one.

This is by design. As the FDM Essbase Adapter requires customizations to mirror/match the Essbase Application.
Importantly is the clear scripts that it executes.
Without the appropriate changes to the adapter, it will appear* to execute the same script multiple times. But when in-fact if the customizations were done correctly, you would see slight differences each time.
By default, it will clear based on the combinations of Period and Entity.
So if your file had 12 periods, and 3 unique Entities, it would do 36 clear statements.
I would suggest you review your customization for accuracy.

Swap Utilization is 100% - cant clear alert

We have had the Swap Utilization is 100%, crossed warning (35) or critical ( ) threshold hanging around for a month now and I cant clear it.
The server has been rebooted and there is no swapping.

but its not for our platform nor our Grid Agent version!

If you find that Metric via the host that it is configured on, just clear the fields that are there for that metric.
Then when you can see those alerts cleared, re-enter the values and carry on regardless.

Unable to evaluate workflow rule - Value too long for field

Need help with a workflow error for a record update before the record is saved. There are 3 calculations that would be done in a particular order - all on number fields. Each time, I am overwriting existing values. The individual numbers could have up to 6 decimal spaces. When I try to update one or more fields that contain the calculation, I get an error message saying that the system is unable to evaluate the workflow rule - value too long for field (zNum6).
This same calculation is fine when a new record is entered and the calculation is done as a default field value.
Any ideas?

I actually had to use a ToChar function at the beginning of the calculation and #### to indicate the number of digits to make this work. Oracle Help Desk provided the answer - quickly.
