Click event (activate?) on images inside a GalleryView

Hi,
i tried few things in iAd Producer but now what i need to do is "go to page myPage" after taping/clicking on one of the images contained by a GalleryView.
So i tried to handle this using the Activate event of my image layer, but the problem is that event is more like a didTouchDown event followed by a didTouchUpInside event than a true click event...
Sorry if i'm not clear enough, what i mean is that if i touch the image then drag the GalleryView then release my touch from the image : the Activate event will be triggered... but what i wanted to do was just drag the GalleryView.
Does anyone know an alternative event that will be triggered only if the drag event is not triggered ?
(I'm a developer, i can write some JS code if needed.)
Thanks !

Hi,
You must be doing diffently than I am. My gallery appears to be doing what you're looking for; swipe will change the gallery view (previous/next cell) and tap will activate my JS code.
I have the gallery view with images on an iPhoen project. The images in the 1st and 2nd cell have the onviewactivate event. I just changed my image in my 2rd cell to got to page action. Both behaves as expected on my iPod touch.
If we can identify how you're doing differently, maybe we can help you.

• Opening New Browser window for click event on an image

hi all,
I want someone to help me out solving the problem of opening
a new browser window on the mouse click event of an image or a
button etc.... The new window would contain the datagrid details
from the main window, but in an expanded form. If at all there is a
solution, I even want to know whether there is anyway for sizing
the poped up window,because I dont want the new poped up window to
cover the entire screen.
For getting better idea of my problem, the best example I
could give is the popup window that appears when we click on the
preview button while posting the message to the forum.
Someone please do help me out in this regard.
Thanks,
amar.

I'd definitely try to use a Flex popup... but the
flash.net.navigateToURL method is a simple way to open a popup
window in a new browser. You can pass any data needed by the new
page using the URLRequest and/or URLVariables. The URL you navigate
to could, of course, be another Flex application if necessary. I
use this only when I need to open a popup window on another site,
or an HTML formatter report or something similar.
Concerning yourself with the size of the popup window may be
a bad design choice also. I, for example, have my browser
configured to open all popups in a new tab regardless of sizing
constraints imposed by the designer. If it is absolutely necessary
for you to have control over the size of your popup window, you
should follow the advice given by others and use a Flex
popup.

• How to make mouse click event to display image on 2D array?

Hi! beginner programmer here looking for some guidance, hints and tips.
I'm making a game of "Connect 4" and using a 2D array to display the board which is 7x6 in size.
What i want to do is that when the player clicks on one of the squares, one of the 2 game pieces(red.png or yellow.png) will appear on the respective coordinates of the 2D array and check if the square in the first row is empty and if true, places/display
the game piece, else it places the piece on the first empty square.
Since i've never worked with WinForms or 2d arrays before i'm not sure how to initiate it.
What i was considering in pseudocode was:
pb_Mouseclick(object sender, MouseEventArgs e)
if(e.Button==MouseButtons.Left)
Picturebox pb=(Picturebox)sender;
clickLocation.X= e.Location.X + pb.Location.X, pieceArray[row];
clickLocation.Y=e.Location.Y + pb.Location.Y, pieceArray[col];
if(pieceArray[row, col] == null)
if(player1.IsStarter==true) selectedimage(@"yellow.png")
else
selectedimage(@"red.png")
else {
bool empty= false;
for(int row=0; row<height - 1; row++)
for(int col=0; col<width; col++)
if(pieceArray[row, col] ==null)
empty=true;
(Add gamepiece)
This is what i've come up with so far, but it's just some theorycrafting, not sure if i should use a while-loop instead...
Hope anyone can give me some insight on how to make it work and if the logic of my pseudocode is correct for what i want according to my earlier explanation.
Many thanks in advance!

Hi Gabbelino,
I could not understand your game rule clearly, and could you make explanation for me?
1.>> when the player clicks on one of the squares
What were the squares? Did it like dice or anything else?
2.>> one of the 2 game pieces(red.png or yellow.png) will appear on the respective coordinates of the 2D array
What is the 2 game pieces? Could you show us the two pictures?
3.>> check if the square in the first row is empty and if true, places/display the game piece, else it places the piece on the first empty square
Could you show us where places/display the game piece?

• Image Click Event in html text

Is there a way to attach event with the image inside html
text in TextArea control. Just like we can attach text event with
link tag?
One possible solution is to enclose the image in
tag making it a link and setting its href to generate text event. I
have already tried this and it works fine. But is there any other
way to do that.
Thanks

Hi Prabhavathi,
Here is how you handle double click events in Textedit control.
1)Create a custom control in screen (say TEXT_CONTROL)
2)In main program,
a) Declarations:
data: obj type ref to cl_gui_custiom_control.
text type ref to cl_gui_textedit.
b) Create the instance of custom container
c) Create the instance of textedit control.
3)Now to handle double click events , create a local class as follows.
class shail_event definition.
public section.
methods:
handle_doubleclick for event dblclick of cl_gui_textedit .
endclass.
class shail_event implementation.
method handle_doubleclick .
here do the coding for handling the double click.
endmethod.
endclass.
4) Create an instance of the handler class(ie.ZSHAIL_EVENT).Let it be named hand.
5) Define varibles for event.
DATA: i_events TYPE cntl_simple_events,
wa_events TYPE cntl_simple_event.
SET HANDLER hand->handle_doubleclick for text.
wa_events-eventid = cl_gui_textedit=>event_double_click.
wa_events-appl_event = 'X'. "This is an application event
APPEND wa_events TO i_events.
6)
CALL METHOD texte->set_registered_events
EXPORTING
events                    = i_events
EXCEPTIONS
cntl_error                = 1
cntl_system_error         = 2
illegal_event_combination = 3
OTHERS                    = 4.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE sy-msgty NUMBER sy-msgno
WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
ENDIF.
These are the basic steps needed for handling events in Textedit control.You can go to SE24 and type CL_GUI_TEXTEDIT to find the associated events of the class.
If you want the program, kindly send your mail-id so that I can mail it to you.

• Image Field overwrite existing click event

Using LiveCycle 8, I am creating a form which has an image which will change when the user clicks the image object.
I downloaded the trial of Acrobat Professional 8.0. In this version, instead of creating a form in Acrobat, it uses LiveCycle 8. In LiveCycle, there is no Image Button and the Static Image object cannot be scripted. It seems the choice for a dynamic image object is the Image Field. But this object has a default click event which is not required in my form.
Is there a way to replace the default click event on the Image Field object? I would like to overwrite it's click event with my own Javascript script. So far, I can add my own script in the click event, but then both my script and the browse for image file occurs.
Thanks!

You can't override an event but you could put a button over top of the image, make it the same color as the background, remove the caption and then when you click the image you are really clicking the button. You can put your code on the click event of the button. make sure the button is in the foreground and the image field is in the background.

• How to execute a method on mouse move event on an Image

Hi All,
I want to execute a method on mouse move event or mouse click event to an image.
how can i achieve this?
TIA,
Vishal

I am not sure if commandImageLink or goImageLink solve your requirement.
But as a workaround you can use set of ClientListener and ServerListener with af:image to achieve what you need.
using then you can capture client event and convert that into server event which you can use to call a bean method.
Inside this bean you can call a web service or method binding.
My first link in previous post shows that very well....

• Listening for click event on an af:image tag

Dear All,
Can anybody help me why my code does not work.
Use case, using an Image, i wanted to call a managed bean method whenever I clicked the image. So here is what I did, I added a clientlistner
and wait for the click event. Also a server listener is attached to the image.
<af:image >
<af:clientListener type="click" method="handleImageClick"/>
<af:serverListener type="ImageEvent"
method="#{viewScope.MyBean.handleImageEvent}"/>
</af:image>...and here is my javascript...
<f:facet name="metaContainer">
<af:resource type="javascript">
function handleImageClick(evt)
var comp = evt.getSource();
AdfCustomEvent.queue(comp, "ImageEvent",{ fvalue : comp.getSubmittedValue()},false);
evt.cancel();
</af:resource>
</f:facet>..and here is my managed bean method.
public void handleImageEvent(ClientEvent ce)
}I jsut dont know why it does not call my managed bean method. Is there any mistake in my code?

• Can't remove event listener from Image

I'm clearly missing something and would appreciate some help. I'm trying to run an event handler when an Image completes loading, then remove the handler so that it won't run again should the image be reloaded later.
The problem that I'm having is that the event handler simply wont' go away, despite calling removeEventListener on the Image object.
The following example demonstrates the problem (the example doesn't actually do anything useful...it's just the shortest example to demonstrate the problem). (To run the app, you'll have to provide any ol' JPEG file named "myImage.jpg" in the "src" directory of your project).
What I expect to happen is :
1) on startup, the image loads and loadComplete() runs.
2) loadComplete removes the event Listener so that subsequent re-loads won't re-fire the handler. I only want the handler to run once.
3) "loadComplete" shoudl be displayed in the Debug console.
4) A button click should display only "Changing Image" in the Debug console
What I get instead is that the loadComplete handler isn't removed, and every time I click the button, loadComplete runs when the image is re-loaded (i.e., every button click results in both "Change Image" AND "loadComplete" being displayed in the Debug console).

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute">
<mx:Image width="655" height="181" source="myImage.jpg" id="myImage" autoLoad="true" scaleContent="true" complete="loadComplete()" x="100" y="100"/>
<mx:Button x="100" y="341" label="Button" click="click(event)"/>
<mx:Script>

private function loadComplete():void
trace ("loadComplete");
myImage.removeEventListener("complete", loadComplete);
private function click(evt:Event):void
trace ("Changing Image");
myImage.load("myImage.jpg"); // Reload same image; it's just an example

</mx:Script>
</mx:Application>

Hi,
You can remove only event listeners that you added with the addEventListener() method in an ActionScript block. You cannot remove an event listener that was defined in the MXML tag, even if it was registered using a call to the addEventListener()method that was made inside a tag attribute.
Check this page for reference.
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=events_05.html
You can modify the code a bit a get it working
<mx:Image width="655" height="181" id="myImage" scaleContent="true"
x="100" y="100"
creationComplete="myImage_creationCompleteHandler(event)"/>
private function myImage_creationCompleteHandler(event:FlexEvent):void
myImage.addEventListener("complete",myImage_completeHandler);
myImage.load("myImage.jpg");
private function myImage_completeHandler(event:Event):void
myImage.removeEventListener("complete",myImage_completeHandler);

• Remove Child and Event.SOUND_COMPLETE not working inside movie clip. What's the problem?

I have a movie clip that is called to the stage. The user then clicks a button and music plays. As the music starts, another movie clip is called, a simulation of an equilizer. There are several things that should happen:
1) When the user closes the movie clip the music is supposed to stop playing and the equilizer movie clip is removed. What actually happens is the music stops playing but the equilzer movie clip is not removed.
2) When the music is finished playing the equilzer is supposed to be removed from the stage and the play button is reactivated. But none of that happens. When I click on the movie clip a second time equilizer is still there and the play button is not reactivated.
Here's the code that calls the movie clip to the stage.
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, goButtons);
function goButtons(event:MouseEvent):void
if (event.target == Song_bnt)

myPlaySong.x = 304;
myPlaySong.y = 105;
//event.stopImmediatePropagation();
Here's the code in the movie clip:

var playRayJaySongChannel:SoundChannel;

I figured out the problem. Here's how I reorganized the code (all in one frame).

• Can't get click event to load from ImageButton

*Newbie Alert*
I am trying to create dynamic image buttons that when clicked will redirect to anothr page as well as add a new item to a SharePoint list. My Image buttons create sucessfully but the click event is not loaded. I have added a break point visual studio and

hi,
you have assign a evenhandler after you add the button to the control list. just assign your event handler before you add the button to the control list.
2nd option is
bn.Click += MyClick;
private void MyClick(object sender, EventArgs e) {
MessageBox.Show("hello");
Here you're registering a click event and specify the code that runs when the event fires.

Hi ,
I am using a ZCLI form to be developed using Webynpro abap . I am new to webynpro abap but I have worked in offlined upload of pdf forms . My problem is I created a wedynpro component and integrated the form .The form is only opening up if the layout choosen is standard layout . if it is a zcli form it is not opening up . I am also not able to capture the click event from the form .
some immediate help required.
My requiremnt is to save 2 fileds from a form in an interactive way to a SAP database using webynpro abap .
Regards
Abhil

Hi Abhil,
If your layout type is 'ZCI Layout' then you have insert the webdynpro script in the layout. After selecting the ZCI Layout click on enter and then go to layout tab, in this go to Utilities menu->select Insert WebDynpro Script.
If you do this then in the Hierarchy tab of adobe form you can see the (Variable) ContainerFoundation_JS, it means that you have inserted WebDypro Script in the form.
Finally activate the form and run the application.

• "Click to Activate" in Interactive PDF

I am creating a document using InDesign and then exporting it out as an Interactive PDF file. Whenever someone cursors over a media file inside the PDF, a message pops up (like a tool tip) that says "click to activate".
Does anyone know how I can remove this message? I did quite a bit of searching and didn't come up with much (although I did see some recommedations for Javascript and IE).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am going to give a dumb suggestion so don't laugh.
I assume like in fields for a Form ther ise two boxes when you fist click on Properties
ones for title. ones for tooltip. If you don't fill out the one for tooltip there is no tool tip.
Have you clicked on the movie within Acrobat and looked for Properties. On a Mac click once to select the you hold down Control key or (right-click and wat fot context menu to come up then you choose properties. For PC may be completely different.
Also, In adobe preferences there may be a setting to turn tooltips off.
