Clicking on a book/Page refreshes complete page

Hi
The scenario is
I have a portal and in that i have 5 books.
And when i click a book, whole page gets refreshed.
I dont want whole page to get refreshed.
Only the tab change should happen.
Kindly tell me what to do.

notice the different ways to do a page change in the middle portlet.
this requires desktop ajax to be turned on (feature in wlp 10.0)
Bottom line your going to need to create your own menu to fire page change events.

I upgraded to the newer version of firefox, and ever since then every time i go to a new page, refresh the page, or open it the interned a box pops up and says "uninstal set" and won't let me continue until i click "ok" why is this happening, and how can i fix it?

go to Tools, add-ons, then only disable java 6.0.22 ONLY, then you have to click on restart. That solved my problem.

Iframe page refreshing main page

Hi,
I have a form on page one, and also an iframe containing a form on page 2. I'd like to be able to edit the data on the form inside the iframe, and then upon submitting it, have the main page refreshed. Some of the data displayed on the form on the main page is affected by entering data on the iframe page, so this is the reason for it. One possibility I thought of was branch on the iframe page to the main page, and then having some way that the main page could detect that it was loaded in a frame and "break out" of the frame automagically. I hope this makes sense.

Yes the function should be on your main page.
As for content it depends what you want to do the easiest would probably be just to force a a whole page refresh which is as easy as just callling parent.doSubmit(); from the iframe page and making sure the parent page has an uncodtional branch to itself.
A more complicated example is something more along the line of this example.

Automatic Page Refresh Not Working Correctly

This is Apex 3.2 with no jquery (Theme 15)
I have a background job which is started from an apex page.
Once the job is started the user can view this job via an interactive report.
This report has highlighting and one updateable column.
APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_LOV(4,a.status,'JOB_STATUS',null,'YES',null,'-Select-') status
I have an application item that the user can set via a select list.
This application item is used to set the page refresh (html page header)
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="&F270_REFRESH_INTERVAL.">
Once they have set this item, the the page is supposed to be refreshed after so many seconds.
The page seems to be refreshing, as the report highlighting changes and report values change,
but the updateable column value (select list) does not change.
Any ideas much appreciated

If I use a button to refresh the page, ie submit and branch back to itself, then the report
reflects the changes.
If I put <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="&F270_REFRESH_INTERVAL."> into the page header (to automatically refresh),
then the page refreshes, but the updateable column does not update.
If I look at the page source it says
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
and not
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5">

When creating a photo book in iPhoto, is it possible to move completed pages to a new book?

I have worked all day on a photo book, used up the allotted 100 pages, and still have more photos I want to use. I am going to create a "Volume 2" but am wondering, in order to make the two volumes comparable in page quantity, can I move some of my completed pages from Volume 1 to a second volume? How?

Start the volume 2 as a copy of the first book.
Ctrl-click the first book and select "Duplicate". That will craete an exact copy the first volume.
Now delete the pages that you want to move to the second volume from the first volume and the pages that you want to remain in the first volume fronm the second.

Have you tried closing the iBooks app completely and seeing if it works ok when you re-open it ? From the home screen (i.e.not with the iBooks app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If neither of the above work then you could also try deleting the app and re-installing it - as long as the books are still in the store and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used then you can re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

Firefox was a good, but now it's slow and when I search google I have to refresh the page when I click the back button. This is driving me to other browsers.

When searching in goole, If I click on a link and want to go back a page firefox does not load the previous google search without refreshing the page. Because I use google frequently this is very annoying. Firefox has also been freezing and crashing most frequently of any of the other browsers that I have been driven to use. I'm not sure why I should keep it on my computer at this point.

Regarding the Google results page blanking out when you go back, this occurs when using a combination of three settings, which may be fairly common:
* Zoom level higher than two steps (120%; the newest versions of Windows apparently default to 125%, which Firefox detects and adopts)
* Google search set to instant prediction results (default on Google search, but can be disabled in Search settings, see [https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/186610 Google Instant Search Help])
* Opening results in the same tab, then using the Back button to return to the results page (default on Google search, but can be changed in Search settings to open results in a new window/tab, see [https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/425 Google Search Help])
Firefox's cache feature attempts to maximize speed for forward and back actions by storing the last rendering of the page. Something about the instant prediction results ''with zoom'' is causing Firefox to briefly display the results and then they blank out and you have to reload the page to get them back. The mystery is why this only occurs (so far as I have heard) on Google? Is one of Google's scripts blanking out the page? Does Google care that it's messing up Firefox users?
For now, if you do not want to or cannot change any one of the three factors needed to experience this problem, you can disable the storage of the last rendering of the page. Then Firefox will skip the shortcut and lay it out fresh, which is known to work. As noted in earlier posts, you make this change using the about:config preferences editor.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered.

Why do certain webpages via google searches (YouTube, google images etc) not load when clicked but load upon page refresh?

I had problems with my Firefox browser being too slow so recently reset the browser (preserved my bookmarks but lost all my plugins). Now I find that when I am searching for something in google when clicking on certain links the window goes blank/white and shows a long url across the top (showing the link was pressed from a google search) and only if I refresh the page will the link load up.
Not sure why this is the case and could use some advice.

Why can I not click a link in an Email and have it go to the link, it just refreshes the page?

I click any link in HOTMAIL or GMAIL and all it does is refresh the page, it will not go to the linked page in a new window or even in the current window. The links work on any other web pages.

To clear cache and cookies do the following:

Hi Jo,
If I'm interpreting this correctly, the Word file downloads correctly, but when you open it in Pages, the link(s) which your instructor has embedded in the Word file are not correctly translated into Pages.
If the link shows the actual address, you should be able to copy that and paste it into the location bar in Safari, press return, and get to the website that way.
An alternate route might be to download one of the open source Office applications, OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice, or NeoOffice. These are written to more closely emulate the behaviours of MS Word than Pages, and may provide better support for links embedded in Word files.

This is because the request is sent to the server when you refresh the page.
A workaround for this is that we can “provide a refresh link that redirects to the same page (or if you have some action causing the refresh programmatically, you could just
redirect to the page after that, with Response.Redirect)

Clicking page refresh icon causing automatic logout.

Hi,
There is some strange issue related to a Live dashboard page. There is a multi parameter prompt and a couple of reports linked to the prompt on this dashboard page.
When I change prompt parameter values, and click Go button the report is displayed. However, if I click the page refresh button or try to change parameter value after the page refresh, OBI EE is logging me out and comes back to the Login Page.
OBI EE version is 10.1.3.4.1. Could you please give me any clues regarding how I can analyse the issue? Are there any log files I can refer to?

It looks like if I rename the page, then it's okay.
I would still like to know whether or not there are any web catalog logs (not referring to SQL Query Logs) that I can go through to identify the issue. Also, I can not keep different page names in different environments.
So, experts, please could you give me some hints?

IE 11 Parent Page/Tab refreshes automatically when we close Child page before completion of load

We have opened the application in IE 11 then when i am click on the button it will open another window, before it is opening fully we have closed the child page then it is refreshing parent page automatically because of this what ever the changes we
are having in the parent page got lost.

Any suggestion? page layouts and number of photos are consistent. several pages are identified as custom, as a result of captions added to several photos. I'm using a macpro and iphoto11.

There is one or more missing photo - typically a page background requiring a photo that is hidden behind a layout with photos in it - look through every page for that - any page tha thas a grey background rather than color is a problem - and it ccan be behind a full page photo so you have to check the page background rather than just look at the page

I am forced to hold shift and refresh the page on 99% of the sites I visit. How do I fix this from happening? If I don't the pages are missing style sheets and etc.

When ever I go to sites they half load or are missing style sheets. If I view the source for the page and click on a style sheet link I get the following error:
Content Encoding Error
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.
If I hold shift and refresh the page loads as normal.
It's happening on 99% of the sites I visit. I have disabled my plugins and add-ons.
I do have some add-ons or plugins that I would like to remove completely but there is no uninstall or remove option, neither in regular or safe mode.
