I was trying out thr auto clone process on Sun Solaris where E-Business suite 11.10.5.2 was installed. The following error occur:
RC-00110: Fatal: Error occurred while relinking of ApplyDBTechStack.
Do any one know was need be done.
I will appreciate private mail answer to [email protected]
Thanks

Login as the application owner (applmgr) and run the following:
java -version -> (Minimum version should be 1.3.1)
For perl, it must be in the PATH before cloning.
which perl -> Use the one which is shipped with iAS 1022 (Minimum version should be 5.005)

  • Need clarification on Solaris 10 upgrade for E Business suite application

    Hi All,
    Server details :
    (1)Database tier : Sun Solaris 8 - 64 Bit
    (2)Application tier ( E Business suite application services ): Sun Solaris 8 - 64 Bit
    (3)Application tier ( E Business suite External tier - DMZ configuration ) : Sun Solaris 8 - 64 Bit
    (4)10gAS and discoverer : Sun Solaris 8 - 64 Bit
    We are planning to upgrade the Database tier (1) and Application tier (2) to Sun solaris 10 and leave the Application tier {
    External - DMZ configuration } ( 3) and 10gAS and discoverer ( 4 ) with Sun
    solaris 8 .
Please let us know if we will be having issues if we perform the OS upgrade in such a way.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rakesh

    Rakesh,
There should be no issues with this upgrade path. Just make sure you relink all binaries after an OS Upgrade to ensure that everything is working as expected.
    - Take a backup of the application/database
    - Upgrade the OS
    - Relink all binaries
    - Start up the application/database
    - Take another backup once you confirm that everything works properly

  • Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.9 Application & Database

    Hello Folks,
    Happy New Year.
Need quick document in meta-link or blog which will help me connect the database on other server to the Oracle E-business Suite EBS application
    The scenario:
Application and Database are on the server_A (hostname ServerA)
    I have made a cold backup of the database and restored it on Server_B ( hostname ServerB) { let us say I migrated / moved the database to another machine }
Database starts and listener starts fine on ServerB
Now, the question is: How can I connect or point the Oracle EBS 11.5.x application to the Database on ServerB ?

    Thanks Hussein,
    SQL> select owner, object_type from dba_objects where object_name = 'FND_NODES';
    OWNER OBJECT_TYPE
    APPLSYS TABLE
    APPS SYNONYM
    SQL> SELECT trigger_name , status FROM user_triggers WHERE table_name = 'FND_NODES' ;
    TRIGGER_NAME STATUS
    FNDSM ENABLED
    UPNAME ENABLED
Hussein, the specific question is as such.. I don't know if this is possible or not.
Can you have two databases connected to the same application.
    Scenario:
SERVER_A = has both the application and database
using DBVISIT software / which is an alternative to DataGuard ... which transfers the archive log files to the other server, I have moved or made the standby server as my primary database . see here for details http://blog.dbvisit.com/the-power-of-oracle-services-with-standby-databases/
    Two Questions:
    1) How to re-configure my Application ( Oracle EBS ) to point to the same Database but on a different hostname/server/ip address which you have answered and referred to the MetaLink documents ( thank you for that )
    2) Can I have two pointers to the database in the Application, to the existing one and to the one on standby server ?
    a) is this possible ?
    Also,
now regarding changing the hostname for the database in Oracle EBS apps you have recommended

How to get a clean Autoconfig Environment ? [ID 391406.1]

Now, I have read those documents which is kind of summarized here:
    http://oracleappsdba1.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
I hope my question is clear.
I have already moved the database to another Machine ( different hostname + different IP ) and the application is on the previous machine
So, to connect the Application on SERVER_A to the same database but on a different machine SERVER_B I will have to only follow the instructions mentioned in Metalink 338003.1 or do I need more steps ?

In windows 2003 server we got E-Business Suite on Oracle Rac, Now i'm trying to clone Application & Database for Development use.. in prerequisite steps i need to run Adpreclone, first with the DB Tier i completed successfully, when comes to Application Tier i'm getting this issue:
Perl lib version (v5.6.1) doesn't match executable version (v5.10.0) at D:\oracl
    e\PROD\apps\tech_st\10.1.2\perl\5.6.1\lib\MSWin32-x86/Config.pm line 21.
Compilation failed in require at adpreclone.pl line 35.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at adpreclone.pl line 35.
as the issue say's i got 2 version's of perl, But the thing is when i check in path i can only find Perl lib version (v5.6.1).. where the hell this version (v5.10.0) came from...? i even set PERL5LIB Path to version (v5.6.1).. still no use when i run perl adpreclone.pl same error shows...
I think you people can understand what my problem is, if you guys need something else please let me know

Please ensure to correctly define this to you perl v5.10.0 version

  • E-Business Suite Database Tier cloning failure

    Hi All,
We are cloning a new Oracle E-Business Suite test instance from the cold backup of our production. Production is single instance/archive log enabled. However, the target instance is single instance/no archive log. the DB version is 11.1.0.7
When i am running adcfgclone.pl on the database tier, it errors out with the following.

I tried by creating the controlfile manually too but it gave error when i tried to open the database:

I tried to recover the above datafile.

    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kcvhvdf_1], [], [], [], [], [], [],
I tried another cold backup(we take cold backups every night) but facing the same issue with another backup also. That's why i think its not an issue with system.dbf file being corrupt.
when i searched metalink for ORA-600 with kcvhvdf_1, i found that it is a bug in 11.1.0.7. bug 9314439.
    the bug says:
The problem is that when the datafiles have zero DB ID=0=0x0, the 'create controlfile set database' command is not setting the new DB ID in the datafile headers but only in the controlfile. It then causes the ORA-600 [kcvhvdf_1] to be produced in the recovery due to DB ID mismatch between datafiles (select FHDBI from x$kcvfh) and controlfile (select DBID from v$database).
I verified the above statement and found it true.
    SQL> select FHDBI from x$kcvfh;

The bug states a work around:
If using a cold backup (after a clean shutdown - NORMAL/IMMEDIATE), one workaround is to open the database right after the create controlfile (with no previous recover):
CREATE CONTROLFILE SET DATABASE "DEV2" RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG ...
    alter database open resetlogs;
However, this workaround is not working for me.
    Kindly help. Its urgent.

  • E Business suite 11i with Database in ASM  - Cloning

    Hi All,
We are planning to migrate the E Business suite database to ASM and wanted to know the best cloning method to perform the cloning from Production to non production.
    Applciation - 11.5.10.2
    Database - 10.2.0.4 in ASM
Since i dont see any specific notes in metalink on this, raised an SR with oracle and they told that oracle does not support this but we can use RMAN as few of the customers use RMAN to perform the clonine.
Can you please advice on the best methode to perform this
    Our constraints :
We have a constrain in performing the cloning through RMAN, for performing the duplicate database we need to have the sqlplus connection between prod and non prod. We will not be getting this setup due to security policy.
I had referred the "Best Practices for Cloning ASM-managed Databases" white paper
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Oracle E-Business Suite 12.0.6 on Oracle Linux 5.5

My production apps (Oracle E-Business Suite 12.0.6) and db (Oracle Database 10.2.0.4.0) tiers reside on their own Redhat 4.6 servers. I have a new server that I am in the process of installing Oracle Linux 5.5 on for hosting a TEST instance - both apps and db tiers. Once the OS is installed I will clone production to it either using rapidclone or rman duplicate. Where can I learn what if any packages I need to install before cloning to my new Oracle 5.5 Linux server?

  • Oracle E-business Suite release 12.1.1 migration from AIX to OEL on OVM

    Hi
We will be migrating our current Oracle E-business suite release 12.1.1 production environment from AIX to OEL using OVM. We are experienced in migrating from one platform to another on single box but this is the first time we will be using OVM.
We will be gratefull if somebody can provide us the right path to migrate to OVM, my understanding is:
    1. Setup Hypervisor, install OVM guests OS using OVM templates
    2. Install E-business suite environment using OVM templates
    3. follow Export / import document to migrate E-business suite environment
    need suggestions
    Thank You
    Shahrukh yasin

No. Do not use the EBS templates.
    1. Get OVM up and running.
    2. Install OEL guests.
    3. Check requirements for running OEL on EBS 12.1. They are different for different version of OEL. There are several oracle support articles detailing the requirement from OEL4 thru OEL6. I personally would use OEL5.
    4. Clone your DB and app tops and get them working.
    5. When you get ready to cut, refresh your DB. You can use datapump but it will take some time depending on how much data you have. You may want to upgrade your DB. If you're running anything less than 11.2.0.3. If you do, then datapump is the best option. At least in my opinion. There are several issues with running 12.1 and 11.2.0.3. Make sure you address them. There are several support articles detailing them. Oracle 10 database isn't supported on OVM. 10 isn't offically supported at all anymore.
    6. Rerun you clone scripts on your app tiers and reconfigure your app layout.

and will you please help me where to start...
i already read the notes and i have following doubts
    Verify software versions
The following software component versions must exist in your environment.
    Software
    Minimum Version
    Tier
    Details
    Oracle Database Enterprise Edition
    N/A
    Database
Read the "Determine the Upgrade Path" subsection in Chapter 2 of the Oracle Database Upgrade Guide 11g Release 2 (11.2). Make sure that direct upgrade is supported from your current release.
--> This part i understood. I m going to use DBUA. from 10.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.3
    Oracle E-Business Suite
    12.0.4 or 12.1.1 with 9868229, 10163753 and 11071569

If you are on E-Business Suite Release 12.0, apply
    Patch 6435000 - Oracle E-Business Suite 12.0.4
    Patch 8623536 - 11g Release 2 interoperability patch for Release 12.0.4
    Patch 9868229

If you are on E-Business Suite Release 12.1, apply
---> I m not clear with this part., do i need to do anything (i mean i need to apply any patches).
because we already in 12.0.6. (Please advice).
    Demand Signal Repository (conditional)
    12.1.2 with 9182368
    Application
If you are using Demand Signal Repository (DSR), apply
    Patch 7303033 - Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.2
    Patch 9182368
--> We are not using DSR so i think i can ignore this part.
    Oracle Warehouse Builder (conditional)
    11.2.0.1 with 9403153
    Warehouse Builder Database
If you are using Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) 11g Release 2, apply OWB 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.1) and Patch 9403153. The following E-Business Suite Release 12 products use OWB 11g Release 2:
    Oracle Demand Signal Repository (DSR)
    Oracle Manufacturing Operations Center (MOC)
    Oracle Balance Scorecard (BSC)
--> we are not using OWB., so i think we can ignore this part.
    AutoConfig
    Latest version with 9852070, 9738085, 11692965, and 12686610

  • How to Restore E-Business Suite after Server Crash?

    Hi Hussein Sawwan,
I have a question that will be useful to other members of the community. How do I restore Oracle E-Business Suite R12 after physically loosing the server that hosts the ERP instance?
    I have 2 scenarios here:
1-Existing cold backups of the DbTier and AppsTier are available
I have been doing a full backup of the Apps and Inst folders once a week on an external drive.
I have been copying the DB folder (Data + DBMS_ORACLE_HOME) after shutting down the database cleanly once a week on an external drive. Noting that, here the database is in NOARCHIVELOG mode.
2-Existing Hot backups of the Database are available and I have a backup of the Apps and Inst folders (AppsTier)
The database is in archivelog here. I have been doing a full hot backup of the database once a week, an Incremental backup everyday, and a full backup of the archivelogs once a week. All of this to an external drive. The Apps and Inst folders are backed up once a week to an external drive.
Let say something bad happens and we completely loose the physical server. How can I do to restore and recover my Oracle E-Business Suite R12 to a new server?
I know I will have to Install the same OS on the new server, but what happens after that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Clamarion.

I believe the easiest approach would be:
    - Install the same OS on the new servers
    - Install OS pre-req software and packages for your EBS instance
    - Restore from cold backup (if the crash happened directly after this backup and you haven't lost any data)
    OR,
    - Restore from hot backup (if the crash happened after your cold backup and you have data that wasn't part of the cold backup)
I assume that no changes to the hostname, domainname, IP Address, port numbers, directory structure, ..etc is taking place in this restore.
    Thanks,
    Hussein
