Closing a document window clicking on 'X'

How can I code to allow for the user to close the pop-up window
by clicking on the window's 'X' icon on the upper right corner of
the window? The window will disappear if I click outside the
window but it would be much nicer if the close window icon
'X' worked.... The minimize option does work, just not the close
option.
Thanks,
Nancy

I don't see a when-close-window trigger as being a valid trigger.
Could you please explain in further detail ? I do not want to
close the entire form, just the pop-up window..
Thanks,
Nancy

  • 2nd Document window not closing

    I have 2 Document windows,
    - win1 is parent window.
    - win2 is a small window with 3 display fields
    and 2 buttons OK & Cancel.
    - other setting for 'win2' is
    Modal = 'YES'
    Close Allowed = 'YES'
    i have problem with Cancel button code, i am giving
    if :SYSTEM.EVENT_WINDOW = 'WIN2' then
    GO_ITEM('CTRL.FLD5');
    HIDE_Window('WIN2');
    end if;
    The WIN2 is not closing,
    i am calling this 'WIN2' from a WVI trigger of a field on parent window 'win1'
    by issuing SHow_WINDOW('win2') command.
    but it flashes error FRM-40737: illegal restricted Procedure SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY in WVI trigger.
    Any one please suggest. TY.

    hi Sarah,
    i dont to know to which item's WVI should i atttach this code.
    Since the window Closed_Allowed property is set "yes".
    the same code given at Form-level When-Widow-Closed, works well, closes the window in 1 click.
    but i dont know the same code given for Cancel button, does not close 'win2',
    One more point, first time when win2 is shown, that time, out of the [x] button on the status bar &
    Cancel button on win2, if i use [x] button first, then 'win2' closes and cursor is back in CTRL.FLD5 on 'win1', fair enough.
    then afterwards from CTRL.FLD5 when 'win2' is called again then the Cancel button code works fine just like the [x] button.
    but the question is why not first time, if i choose Cancel button first. why it is required [x] button to be used first.
    So the problems are;
    - FRM-40737 is thrown whenever win2 in invoked from CTRL.FLD5
    - 'WIN2' does not close by pressing Cancel button, when displayed first time.

  • In Firefox 29 center clicking at the top of a tab in a maximized window will open a previously closed tab instead of closing the tab you clicked

    In Firefox 29 center clicking at the top of a tab in a maximized window will open a previously closed tab instead of closing the tab you clicked.
    Is this this the intended behavior? And if so is there any way to disable it?
    Thanks

    Middle-clicking a tab closes it, while middle-clicking an empty area of the tab bar opens a new tab.
    Different behavior is probably caused by a tab-related add-on like Tab Mix Plus. If you're not sure if you have such an add-on, restart Firefox with add-ons disabled and check if the problem still occurs.

    When rebooting mac, I closed all firefox windows by clicking the cancel "x" and then clicked "close tabs". After rebooting I could not recover my open tabs, as none of the options were highlighted under History , i.e. Recently Closed Tabs or Recently Closed Windows.

  • Closing document window inside of the MDI

    We have just one "document" window open inside of the Forms run-time application window. Does anyone know how to close this document window without closing the whole application?
    Thank you very much.

    Bogdan,
    we are trying to close the sole document window we have inside of our MDI application, leaving the application itself open. By comparison, you can leave MS Word application window open without having any document windows in it. I am starting to doubt it's possible at all in Forms. To re-phrase the question, is having at least one document window open at all times a requirement for MDI application?
    Thank you.

    Please be more specific as to what you really need to do.

  • Illustrator CS5 - why can't I drag my document window to a larger view?

    When trying to expand my document window by dragging a corner, upon letting go it snaps back to an even smaller window view. It is driving me crazy, is anyone else experiencing this? (I use a Wacom tablet, too.)

    I had this problem on Windows 8.1.1 and iTunes 11.2.2.3
    To resolve it from within Itunes I did :  Edit, Preferences, Sharing.
    I took the tick out of "Share my library on my local network"
    Click OK.
    Closed iTunes/
    Reopened iTunes and I can drag and drop.
    I went back into Edit, Preferences, Sharing and put the tick back and clicked OK.
    Works fine now.

  • Closing the MDI Window...

    Hi Guys,
    I have a set of 10 forms which are being called from a
    another form through Forms Menu. Lets take the scenario as Form
    A opens Form B via "Open Form". From there on using Forms Menu,
    Form B opens the rest of the 8 forms using "Call Form". My
    requirement is that incase the MDI Window is closed all the
    forms should get closed along with it. Suppose I open Form E
    from Menu of Form B (Call Form) and then Open Form D from Menu
    of Form C (Call Form). Currently if I have to close the
    application, I have to indivisually close all the forms. So If
    there are 5 forms open I have to close the MDI Window five
    times. Is there a method by which on click of a single button
    the Application as a whole should close, instead of user having
    to closde all the forms individually.
    Please help me if any body has done this before. Is there a
    way to find the process id of the current forms session at the
    Windows level, in which case I can right a C++ progam to kill
    the process itself.
    Please reply asap...

  • How can I stop Muse from quitting when closing a document?

    A lot of utilities automatically Quit when you close a document window.
    I'm making a number of HTML slides with Muse, and continually creating a new Muse document (or site). Every time I close a site, I have to relaunch to open my template. I could keep a site open in the backround, but that populats the tabs in plan view, and could cause accidents.
    Is there a way to stop the application quitting?

    Of course you are right, Zak.
    But, on a Mac, clicking the red button top left in the window, normally closes the window and not the app. Closing the app instead of the window by clicking this button only happens with rather small software-tools.
    I know, Muse is a one-window-application. Therefore it is a certain logic behind the behavior. But, let me bet, every muse-user on a Mac very often closes the application by mistake.

  • How do I get more space in a "Documents" window?

    I wonder if someone can help me with this. I recently upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.9. When I open, for example, the "Documents" window and find the page is full with folders/files I place the arrow cursor in the bottom right hand corner and move the window up. I then pull the scroll bar down, place the arrow cursor in the bottom right hand corner and pull the window down. Under 10.3.9 the folders/files would stay where they were and I would get more free space. Under 10.4.9 it doesn't do that; pulling the window down means pulling everything else down as well. So the window remains full with folder/files all the time. Is there a way of changing it as it was under 10.3.9?

    Open the window, hit the end key, and expand the window, via the lower right-hand corner triangle. Works here and always has in Tiger. If that doesn't work on your machine, then I suspect a corrupt preference file. Create a new admin user account, log into, and see if the problem exists there. If not, then it's one of the preference files listed in the new account's /Library/Preferences/ folder that's screwy. Make a list of them, log back into the old account, move the same one's, one at a time, to the Desktop, OPTION-click the Dock's Finder icon, and select Relaunch. Do that until you isolate the one's that are causing the problem. Start with the com.apple.finder.plist.

    hi,
    Do the following steps :
    -> Make an Outbound Plug to the Window.
    ->Make the type of Outbound plug to Exit Type.
    ->Add URL of type String as a parameter to the outbound plug of Window.
    ->Do remember to add Component Name in the Properties Tab of View ( othervs Calling Outbound plug of window from view wont b possible ).
    To open a new URL with closing the previous one write this Code in OnAction of Button : ( this Code can be get from Code Wizard too ).
    DATA lo_zexit TYPE REF TO ig_zexit .   <zexit is name of my Component>
    lo_zexit =   wd_this->get_zexit_ctr( ).

        url =   'http://www.google.com'                            " string

  • Why do I not get the checkout option for a pdf type document when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task?

    We are trying to use workflows to review and edit pdf files in sharepoint 2010. We are having a couple of issues and am hoping someone has the answer.....
    1)  When myself and coworkers click on the pdf document in the library, we get the check out option as expected.  However when we click on the document
    link in a workflow task (on the sharepoint site), the pdf opens as a temporary file and we do not get the check out option.  Why does this happen?????
    2)  The same thing happens when we click on the document link in the workflow task email;   HOWEVER,  one of our co-workers does get the
    check out option when clicking on the link in the email task.  Why would she get the checkout option using the email and not when clicking on the link in the task list on the sharepoint site ????  We have compared our internet settings and adobe
    settings to ours and found no differences.
    We are using Sharepoint 2010, Windows 7, IE8, Adobe Reader X or XI.  Some of us have Adobe Pro X and have the same issues.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you could not get the checkout option for a pdf type document when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task.
    I try to reproduce the issue, however, no matter when I click the pdf type document in the library or click on the pdf document link in the workflow task email, it download the pdf doucment and then I can open it.
    It will be better if you can descript how you
    get the check out option as expected when you click on the pdf document in the library.
    Then I upload a
    word type document to the library, no matter when I click the word type document in the library or click on the word document link in the workflow task email, I can open the word document directly and get the check out option as expected.
    I recommend to use the other type docuemts to check whether the check out option works.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • A second browser window will not open and then closing the 1st window firefox will restart. Taskmgr shows it still running, it will not restart until I end the process in taskmgr.

    I open the browser and close it every thing is fine. I open the browser and then attempt to open a second browser window, it will not open. Now because I've attempted to open a second browser window firefox will not restart after closing the open window. Until I've shut it down in the taskmgr. This just started the other day and I have removed the only update I made that was "flash" and I removed the 64 bit version of firefox.

    Win 7 with iTunes installed - I was also having problems with that.
    "netsh winsock reset" at the command prompt resolved all issues and Firefox launched normally.
    Check to see if Winsock is corrupted. May prevent FF from communicating with the web and consequently fails to launch properly - for my situation was not a firewall or antivirus block!
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936211#LetMeFixItMyselfAlways
    Click Start, and in Start Search, type cmd.
    Right-click the cmd entry that appears in the search results, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
    At the command prompt, type the following, and then press ENTER:
    netsh winsock reset
    Then, you should see the following message:
    Successfully reset the Winsock Catalog. You must restart the computer in order to complete the reset.
    Restart the computer.
    Note If you receive an “Access Denied” error message instead of the message that is mentioned in step 3, the command prompt was not correctly elevated. In this case, close the Command Prompt window, and repeat steps 1 through 3. Make sure that you correctly implement step 2.
