CLOSING CMD WINDOW RUNNING FMLECmd

I have created a .bat file to start 2 instances of FMLE.
echo off
start "camera2" cmd /Min /k "C:\users\jay starnes\desktop\test.bat"
echo off
start "camera1" cmd /Min /k "C:\users\jay starnes\desktop\laptoptest.bat"
everything works fine.  I need to close the cmd windows that are opened after i am done streaming.  I am looking to do it in a seperate .bat.
Is this possible.
I am trying to create it as a one click process so that i can run and stop with one click.
thanks in advance.

You can try this:
1. cmd.exe /c fmlecmd.exe  -> 1st batch file to launch FMLE
2. cmd.exe /c fmlecmd.exe /s rtmp://localhost/live+livestream  -> 2nd batch file with fmle uid to stop the FMLE launched by the 1st batch file
Cmd windows will close automatically.

ok..If you carefully look at the vi you will come to know the answer for your question.
The reason is because when the value of the slider becomes greater than 8 the pop up will appear and when you close, it will close (for say i=1). Now again the pop up will appear and close when you hit the close button. (say for i=2).
This operation will continue unless and until some one will change the value of the slider to be less than 8. or the vi is aorted
Also do not use the contineous run button unless and until you are debugging something. Instead use a while loop.
A better approach would be to use a event structure wired with a valus change event for the slider.

  • Cmd window appears when running sqldeveloper.exe for some users

    All,
I'm wondering why a cmd window appears when I double click the sqldeveloper.exe executable?
This is a Windows 2008 server.
Also, when the user that installed SQL Developer runs it, the cmd window has no text in it but when other users are logged into the server and run the same executable, they have a lot of messages appearing in the cmd window similar to:
    at org.apache.log4j.xml.DOMConfigurator.doConfigure<DOMConfigurator.java:616)
What I'd like to do is NOT have any cmd window appear when the users run sqldeveloper.exe

There are two sqldeveloper.exe files. The one in the root of the sqldeveloper installation folder doesn't produce a console; the one in <sqldev>\sqldevloper\bin does.

  • Running an EXE from LABVIEW without the 'cmd' window showing

    Hi,
I am currently using the 'system exec.vi' in a LabVIEW application to open files in external executables (mainly Windows Explorer, Acrobat Reader and Word).  This actually works fine and while my application is fairly sleek (even if I do say so myself) I am annoyed by the cmd window that momentarily appears each time I use the 'system exec.vi'.
Is there any way to disable this window?  Or maybe there is another way of opening the files altogether?
I am using LabVIEW 8.0 on Windows XP Pro.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thankyou for your comments...
I do buy LV as part of a developer suite so could use the toolkit you mentioned.  While PDF's and Word docs are the main files I open they are not the only.  I guess I could open different file types different ways.  I just hoped there was a better all round way to do it.
As far as Windows Explorer goes...  My application is a file manager targetted directly at the file structures we use for developing functional test applications.  The application handles all the file management requirements (i.e. WIP Backups, deploying, zipping/archiving etc) and its an added feature that you can 'explore' a given folder directly from the application.  The general idea is that all our developers create systems using the same structure and approach.

Have you looked at the VI in vi.lib\Platform\browser.llb\Open a Document on Disk.vi. It opens the document passed in according to its file ending and attempts to communicate with the target application through DDE if possible before using the command line. Even then I have not seen a cmd window popup so far.

  • System exec cmd window

Hello, first time posting a question!
I have spent a good while trying to find an already posted answer to this, and looking on the wider web, hope i have not just missed it.
I am using XP Pro SP3, LV 8.6.
I am not very familiar with Windows command lines and structures etc.
I am using the System Exec VI to start a third party piece of software. I have wired the path in to the path input, and if i wire cmd /c start xxx to the command line terminal the VI will run and start the software application (xxx.exe). As the VI executes the cmd window clunks open and closed. If i run the VI without the cmd /c part of the command then an Error 2 is returned (as widely reported by others).
Is it possible to open an application without the cmd window opening and closing?
Using the System Exec VI it is possible to open NotePad just by wiring 'NotePad' to the comand line terminal. Is it possible to place the third party software somewhere, or register it with the OS somehow so it could be started in the same way as NotePad (i.e. without the cmd window flashing up)?
    Thanks...

Hi Thoric, thanks for the suggestions, Success!
I tried the True boolean to the Run Minimized, but it did not help.
Changing the Environment Path string to include the path to the directory containing the application did work (once i had worked out the syntax).
    On to the next problem....

  • Quitting the Application Before Closing the Window?

I have a 6 day old iMac running Snow Leopard. I already knew that closing the window on most Apps did not close the program, so instead of closing the window, I would just click on, ie, "Quit Safari" and the Safari window would then close. I don't do that anymore, now I close the Window first, and then quit the App. Could I have caused any harm to the OS by just quitting the App, and letting that close the window?

It's OK to close the app without closing the window. I never close the windows when quitting an app, I just hit CMD-Q. It does no damage.

  • How can I initiate dual boot install from a CMD window...?

Laptop hardware meets sys req for Win 10 and currently runs 8.1
    Samsung RV-511-S01UK
    i3 380M @ 2.53Ghz
    6GB RAM
Discrete Nvidia 315M 1GB dedicated VRAM
Having first tried 10 inside a VM... and it looks ok.... time to try it on real hardware instead of the restricted emulation.
I'm attempting to clean install and create a DUAL_BOOT on prepared partition
ISO downloaded direct from the correct link (SHA-1 checked)
USB... or DVD... installer created with the MS installer tool.
ALL attempts to install by booting from either installer medium, trying builds 9926, 10041 and 10049 (64 and 32 bit), end before they start....... the process stops completely at the very first screen.... the logo screen.... the indicator dots beneath
the logo screen which appear as standard to 'indicate' that a 'process' is happening in the background NEVER appear... even after an 8 hour wait in one instance.
Even if I follow the install instructions supplied on the download page here instead of booting direct:
    5. Double-tap or double-click setup.exe from the installation media, and then follow the steps.
it gets to a point within the process and has to restart.... then it stops as soon as the logo screen appears just as it does when I try and boot from the created installers.
There seems to be a problem at the Windows logo screen which halts the entire installation process !!! It suggests a BIOS/Win 10 conflict, but only one way to really find out..... process log...?
The only way to discover where the error lies is to observe the process happening as it happens in real time (if that's possible) or create log file of my attempt.... from within a CMD window...? Unfortunately I don't know the language of CMD code
    well enough.
I would like someone to assist with the correct code on how to initiate the install from within a CMD window so that I can see the process happen in real time within the window and therefore observe exactly where the instruction is failing.... but
as stated if running a CMD during install is not possible then a saved log file to refer to after fail and reboot into 8.1
This should make it easier to define the problem and as such discover the solution
If someone can supply the code it would be very helpful..... if no-one here knows I'll pop over to the Linux forum and ask one of the people there after setting up Ubuntu with a spare partition for the Win 10 TP
    cheers

    Hi base1268,
Can you find the following log files when you reboot into Windows 8.1?
    C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setupact.log
    C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setuperr.log
    C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\setupact.log
Actually, for current situation, I suggest you use native boot to try Windows 10 Technical Preview:

  • Problem in Closing Browser window from an Applet.

I have wriiten a small Applet progarm that calls a Javascript function in the opening window, to close the window in which it is loaded. The Applet window is a PopUp window from one of my application's window.
First time I start my application and load that Applet and then close the frame window,it works fine that the browser window will close, when the frame window is closed. It calls the window closing event in that applet stop method is called and In stop methd a closeLaunchedBrowser method will called this has a Javascript method and the Method closes the window using the self.close() method.
But now if I continue this process of launching applet and then closing frame window, initial 1 or 2 steps it has know problem when I continue this, after 3 or 4 steps, it result in browser hang/crash.
I am using java version 1.4.2_01 or higher and IE or Firefox(any other NetScape based) browser to load applet. It works fine with IE but getting problem in case of Firefox(any other NetScape based).
The error dialog information and related event log generated is shown below :
The dialog which is displayed before crashing of firefox has information :
"firefox.exe has generated errors and it will closed by windows.you will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created."
    The error log information :

    win.eval("self.close();");
    } catch (Exception e) {
    Thread t = new Thread(r);
    t.start();
}If any one know solution regarding how to aviod this crash of browser please let me know. I will be very thankful to you.
    Thanks.

Right, I sort of tracked down some code that uses getMethods to allow me to invoke a Javascript command. It is not pretty and took a little bit of editing to get to work but it does the job without putting JS stuff into my HTML.
However it is causing some problems. If I open one of my other applets it will only let me close that window and the previous applets ceases to respond at all. I think this may be because the invoke gets the JSObject which is the window and somehow having more than one applet open in different windows is causing it to get confused and is locking the first window and only responding to the second.
I have seen a much simpler method that uses:
    import netscape.javascript.*;
and JSObject to get the window but my compiler complains about the import. Any further suggestions or an example would be welcome as my current solution is a bit limited as you can effectively only have one window open at a time which doesn't suit my needs.
    Many thanks.
    Mark.

  • Cannot paste in a cmd window

I recently lost the ability to paste inside a CMD window.  I have always had this capability and can still do it from other machines.  Quick Edit and Insert modes are on.  I can copy and paste anwhere else in the UI.  I can copy and paste within the CMD window.  I just cannot copy and paste from outside the CMD window to within the cmd window.  I live inside the CMD window so it is a real nuisance to have lost this.  Any ideas?  Also, this happens regardless of permissions.  Same results on this system whether or not I have admin priivileges and happens if I run a standard cmd window or if I run as an Administrator.  Does not matter whether I right click in the cmd window or Edit\Paste.  When I do Edit\Paste, Paste is available and not greyed out but it does not do anything.  If go to say notepad, I can paste the contents there, so I know the data is still in the clipboard.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One additional observation.  If I disable UAC and reboot, I can then paste in the cmd window.  Once I re-enable UAC I lose the ability to paste in the cmd window.  I can't keep UAC disabled becasue it is against company policy.  And it worked fine for over a year with UAC enabled. The has to be some registry setting or local policy that controls this.  I just can't seem to find anything on it.  I have found others in various forums reporting the same problem but have never yet seen any solution.

  • Close one CMD window leave the other one open

I have two CMD windows open runnig a LabVew launched commandline program
It is two instances of the iperf program and I found this searching here
    taskkill /F /IM iperf.exe
That works but it kill both windows.
I take it I need to find the PID on the two windows and only kill the one I want
How do I find the PID?
    Is there a better way?

You can change the title of the command line windows with the TITLE command, i.e. TITLE mycmd_task1 or TITLE mycmd_123.
Now taskkill /FI "windowtitle eq mycmd_task1" will kill the first window, etc...
I tried this without LabVIEW, just 2 command line windows named 'win1' and 'win2'. It works. Only one of the instances cancels execution. Since the name of the program adds also to the title it is easier to use wildcard in the filter. When you run 'iperf ' the window title will be 'win1 - iperf -c ..........', so you can use taskkill /FI "windowtitle eq win1*"  respectively taskkill /FI "windowtitle eq win2*"
That does not seem to work.
    The title has C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe - C:\iperf\iperf -s -u -p50002 -i2 -l300M
