Anyone know if there are plans for botnet filter to be supported in cluster mode? Any roadmaps for asa 9.x that can shed some light over it?

Botnet Filter with multiple Context Mode

We used the Botnet Filter in Single Context Mode for a long Time. Now we converted to multiple Context Mode and the Database is no longer updated. In the system Context I can See the update settings but when I try to update the result is always "no DNS server". Since the system context has no interfaces there are no DNS settings etc.
How should be the Botnet Filter configured in Multiple Context Mode?

Clustering for Retail Store Planning

I am a retail consultant in the US specializing in Merchandise and Assortment Planning (MAP). I am currently on a project at Luxottica Retail Group. Lux owns LensCrafters, PearleVision, Sunglass Hut and Oakley Sunglasses.
Their LensCrafters brand has over 800 stores. We are recommending to Lux that they cluster their stores so they will plan 10 or so store clusters rather than plan the assortments for 800 stores individually. They have done studies that show on styles with few SKU's store clustering works very well. The problem is with styles with 100's on SKU's. With those, their studies show that planning at the store cluster level raises their inventory and lowers their service levels. That is the rub.
Would you have a few minutes to talk with me about what would be the best way to approach the customer on this? I realize that retail is not your area but I need more of an BI analytical view on this than a strictly retail view. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

It is important to realize that a comprehensive security deployment should include Cisco Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) with its reputation based Global Correlation service and IPS signatures in conjunction with the security services provided by the ASA security appliance such as Botnet Traffic Filter.
So I would say they both provide you security based on databases from the SIO but they will not be equal on their funcionalities, that is why Cisco recommend to use both when possible,

BotNet Filter Report Veracity?

Company has a ASA5510 with BotNet Traffic filter enabled on it
When I go to the Report file (using ASDM) it shows me From the Monitor section->Botnet Traffic Filter -> Infected Hosts - > Highest Threat Level
If I save it as a pdf and review the report it shows my malware counts on different machines. If I go to that machine and run AV or Malwarebytes ot other tools I never detect anything
What is this report showing me?

I am not questioning the process that you described. I would like to know that the bot that was "calling/reporting" back is no longer on the device/computer listed in the report
How do I know that there was malware on the device? Does something remove it? Is it time based? does it morph to ....
Or do I just take it on faith that I am protected and ignore the report?
It would be nice if it was reported on a device, if you went to the device and could find it and then remove it.

Botnet Filter Hits - Reliability?

We just licensed one of our ASAs at a branch office with the botnet filter license and I'm already seeing some hits in the ASDM. My question is really about the reliability of the results. I know with the IPS sensors, it's pretty common to get false positives so I want to be careful with how I treat the results on hits for botnet activity. We've run a few different virus scans on the computers that are supposedly reaching out to malicious sites, but they haven't returned anything malicious being on the PC. I don't want to dismiss these, but before we start spending time really investigating the computers and disrupting the users I want to get a feel for percentage of reliability on the botnet filters alone. Any thoughts or experiences anybody can share?

Botnet filter license

Hi,
We use botnet filter on several of our ASAs in production.
The time based licenses will run out soon, and I'm wondering how to renew them.
My service coordinator says that the service agreement with Cisco is renewed, but that the PAK numbers won't change.
(I've tried inserting the same PAK on the license portal, but it says it's already been used).
Meanwhile, the time based license continues to count down.
Does anyone know how I'm supposed to update the license?
In my head I would expect Cisco sending a new PAK for the next year.
Who's wrong, my service coordinator or me? :)

Time-Based License Expiration
When the current license for a feature expires, the adaptive security appliance automatically activates an installed license of the same feature if available. If there are no other time-based licenses available for the feature, then the permanent license is used.
If you have more than one additional time-based license installed for a feature, then the adaptive security appliance uses the first license it finds; which license is used is not user-configurable and depends on internal operations. If you prefer to use a different time-based license than the one the adaptive security appliance activated, then you must manually activate the license you prefer. See the "Activating or Deactivating Keys" section.
For example, you have a time-based 2500-session SSL VPN license (active), a time-based 1000-session SSL VPN license (inactive), and a permanent 500-session SSL VPN license. While the 2500-session license expires, the adaptive security appliance activates the 1000-session license. After the 1000-session license expires, the adaptive security appliance uses the 500-session permanent license.

Software clustering with Client Access

We are planning to by BO XI R3.0 with Client Access License. I heard that I can do software clustering only with user based or CPU based license and not with Client Access License. Could someone clarify me that can I do software clustering with Client Access License?

Well from what I understand is if you buy XI 3.0 then there are generally 3 license types available which can be mixed in some cases.
1) CPU license - unlimited users per system
2) named users license - you are allowed an amount of users in the system unlimited sessions per user
3) concurrent users where the license is based on the user sessions
So for the client some clients like crystal reports have a user license others like deski/designer can login locally fine but if you want to access server components then they fall under the above restrictions based on the license of your server.

Issue with parameter/filter - trying to display null rows

This is how my data looks in the database
Order_ID ----- Vendor

I want to create an SSRS report with a filter for vendors
*All Vendors should be checked off by default
*Users should be able to select multiple vendors
So I started by creating the VendorDataSet, the query looks like
SELECT VendorName
FROM Vendor
WHERE Active = 1
*This query will return all active vendors stored in my vendor table
Then, I created my parameter @prmVendor and it looks like:
-Data Type: Text
-Allow blank value("")
-Allow multiples values
Available Values:
-Dataset: Vendor
-Value field: vendor_name
-Label field: vendor_name
The main query of the report looks like
Select Order_ID, Vendor
FROM Order
LEFT JOIN Vendors
ON Order.VendorID = Vendor.ID
WHERE Vendor IN (@prmVendor)
So at this point it does what is supposed to do except - that when I run the query with all the vendors selected,
the query will only return the ones with vendors populated.

I've tried adding the following to my VendorDataSet:

thus, my main query will ignore the orders with no vendors.

I can isolate a bookmark with the filter, but how can I "find" a bookmark in the hierarchy of the ShowAllBookmarks window?

I want to find a bookmark in its location in the hierarchy of bookmarks, but all I can do with the filter is isolate a bookmark[s]; either using the filter of the bookmarks sidebar, or in the ShowAllBookmarks window. For instance, I know I have a certain bookmark, but I want to move it into a new "folder" and rename it, perhaps; for this I need to be able to *see* it in the hierarchy, as in the Finder of a Mac, when the filter turns up a file, then "Show Original" of "Open Enclosing Folder."

I'm just trying to understand how to use these add-ons, having just added them on, to borrow a phrase, but have now found a comment re Go Parent Folder, "This extension does not seem to work in MacOS X. " <http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=659690>. Sadly [altho I really like Snow Leopard] I'm running OS X.6.7. Nonetheless a contextual menu mousing down on a "found" bookmark indeed does give the working option of "Go to Parent Folder" from the found list of the ShowAllBookmarks window, *or* the that of the sidebar window. How did you design the filter on the view?

Please create a new list, and create a new view, then add a filter on the view, compare the result.

No Planning happening with scope of Planning for total Planning

Hi SAP Gurus,
The Scenario is for Consumption based planning and MRP run.
I have created a New Entry under Scope of Planning for total Planning run and entered the required two plants under sequence of Plants.
I have also entered manually consumption values for trial materials in those two Plants. I maintained MRP and Forecast View.
I then ran MD01 using the Scope of Planning created. But when I check the MD04 results for trial materials, no Planning has happened.
I shows a message "Pl carry out Forecast for material xxx in Plant xxx "
Then using T.Code- OMDO, I created a variant for each Plant and also Scheduled. But after then also with MD01, No planning is happening.
When I check under T.Code - OMDU, the respective Plants were activated
Pl guide me the steps for Creating of Scope of Planning and then how to set up planning file and what could be the reason materials are not getting Planned.

Dear Mariano,
MRP type VV (forecast based Planning) is used for these materials.
I defined Scope of Planning for Total planning and included Plants in sequence.
Then I created new Variants for Planning file entries for these Plants (T.Code - OMDO).
Then I created new Variants for Planning file entry consistency for these Plants (T.Code - MDRE)
After then I executed Mass Forecast (T.Code - MP38) and then carried out total planning run using T.Code - MD01.
Now the materials are getting planned.
I missed Forecast run earlier.
I found the reason for the problem, hence closing the thread.

None of fact sources are compatible with detail filter

We have 2 facts and 7 dimensions defined in physical layer and below are the relationships between them
D1, D2, D3, D4, D5 are conformed dimensions and all joined to F1 and F2
D6 is joined to F1
D7 is joined to F2.
In BMM layer, I combined two facts(F1 and F2 ) into one fact with two logical sources. And even set the aggregation content level for LTS of F1 to "total level of D7" and
LTS of F2 to "total level of D6".
Whenever I create a report with D6 attributes and D7 attributes without any filter D6 or D7 attribute filters., the report is generating fine. But if the report is using any of the D6 or D7 attributes in filter, I am getting the error *"None of fact sources are compatible with detail filter... "*
Am I missing something. Can someone please help how to resolve this.
BTW..We are on version 11.1.1.5

I am confused here..could you please explain why do you have to set the "Total" Level to Dimension D7 for F1 and "Total" Level for Dimension D6 on F2?
Lets talk about F1 first:
In your case F1 is joined to D1 through D6. Then in the logical layer, on the fact, have you set the levels for the dimensions D1 through D6 to all Detail or lowest level (ROW_WID/KEY)? (Assuming no hierarchies and all are at detail level)
Similarly check the levels on the fact F2. My guess is that it is something to do with your logical level settings. Make sure the logical level are set correctly on the correct dimensions.
