CNQL1213 Button Manager.app ?

On each start up... CNQL1213 Button Manager.app ( Which is PPC - I'm on Intel )
Shows up in activity monitor - It is slowing my Mac down.
I can't find any information on it and can't find it's location doing a system search ?
What is it and how do I remove it ?

If you have installed drivers for a Canon scanner then this comes with it. It allows you to use the buttons on the front of the scanner. It can be found in HD/Library/CFMSupport. I trashed it from there ages ago with no consequences. YMMV

What is CNQL1213 Button Manager.app?

I am running OS 10.6.7 and have recently had a problem starting up (blue screen). I checked the items that open at startup, and see one called "CNQL1213_Buttonmanager.app" This struck me as something of a mystery, so I googled the term, and saw some people saying that this is a driver for a Canon scanner (I don't have one), and some people saying that it was malware.
So what is this thing? If it is harmful, how do I get rid of it?

I did find the CFMSupport on the HD and tried to delete it. The CFMSupport page opened and when I highlighted ButtonMaster and tried to delete, the message says I can't delete it because it is open. I went to login items and did delete it there, but still get the message, so moved the ButtonMaster from CFMSupport page to desktop and tried to put in trash - still get the message it is open. How can it be open if I deleted it from login items? Can you help me get rid of this thing? Thanks

CNQL1213 Button Manager launch on start up

CNQL button manager launches at start up on my iMac and it delays start up. I already unchecked it on start up in the System Preferences/Accounts/Login Items. It still launches. I tried to restart and delete from the Library/CFMSupport but I get a message the Button Manager is already open and can't be deleted. How do I get this program to stop? Also Chrome browser launches at start up and I also unchecked that from Login items. I don't want it to launch either.

First, open /Library and trash the folder "CFM support". as you mentioned, you cannot EMPTY the trash because you come up with this message "Button Manager is already open and can't be deleted" then. So, just trash the folder at the first step. Now open Preferences/Accounts/Login and you most probably dont see the buttonmanager items anymore, but if they are still there, just uncheck them. now restart your mac, and you can see that buttonmanager won't come up on startup again! NOW you can empty your trash bin without getting any messages and get rid of the remaining signs of BUTTONMANAGER!

Pantry Management App help!!!

I need help finding a GREAT pantry management app. I found ones that have a bar code scanning feature and I found ones that you can share the same "inventory" with another iphone user. BUT I cannot find one with both features.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't work try quitting the App Store app like this. Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then reset your device again. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Some videos are semi-missing - they do not show up in File Manager apps or another app

I have what I will call three FILER apps: File Browser, Air Browser and File Commander. I also have MovieSRTPlayer. Those apps appear to not register the presence of some video files that I have definitely copied to my PB. The MovieSRTPlayer will overlay a .srt file's text over a video allowing the pb to show subtitles. It works as long as it can find the video and srt files.
I am definitely transferring a series of video files to the pb's video folder. I am also transferring a companion file to that folder. The companion file is a subtitle file in the form of an .SRT file.
THREE file manager type apps do NOT show those files as present in the video folder. The Video app itself does show and play those video files.
I have copied the files using both wifi-sharing and when they did not show up that way, I copied them using the usb cable to the pb's Z: drive and the video folder.
As stated the dam! files play in the video app. But they do not appear in the various filer apps. And they also do not show in another app, one that will display the subtitle (.srt file) file overlaying the video. In all instances it is as if the pb does not register the presence of those files on the pb.
Now, what is interesting is that when this first cropped up, 7 files were missing - just a mix of video (no .srt files involved). That is they showed in the video app and played but the filer programs did not show them. I managed last night and this morning to get 7 of those to finally show by copying/moving/deleting and recopying. But now I'm running into this brick wall again. I have repeatedly copied two video (avi files) and their companion .srt files to the video folder. They are in that folder (I've looked using usb and wifi-sharing) and they play in the PB's video app. They are most certainly on my pb.
Oh, and yes, I've rebooted a number of times.
Ideas?

I have what I call 3 file manager apps. File Browser, Air Browser and File Commander (the older free version).
They all show or don't show the same thing. So files are missing. And SIZE is not the sole determining factor. When I was testing MovieSRT and "lost" some files I copied and renamed avi and .srt files. So there are two extra .srt files in the Video folder. But while they are 32kb (kilobytes) and 58kb respectively, they do NOT show up in the File managers. The other two identical files with the names matching the .avi files do show up. The one very large mp4 (2gb) does not show up. A subfolder I created just as a test does not show up. But the large mp4 and subfolder were showing up while I was actively copying the 2gb file - they would show up as the file was being copied - the filemanagers showed the file getting larger and larger and while doing so the "missing" subfolder also kept showing up. Then once the large file was completely copied, both it and the subfolder "disappeared" - again, the large mp4 does show in the Video app and it plays.
My persistence probably is based on the fact I was a computer programmer many eons ago! Also, I was trying to get YOUR app to work and the avi files were not showing up in your listing but they were showing and playing in Video app (but no subtitles). Finally, after copying/moving/re-copying over and over including moving and copying to the PB's Print folder (just since it was empty) and copying it back to the video folder (now 2 copies), the files would finally show up. Peculiar - yup!
Oh, one other thing - the 3 file managers all show what I will call the virtual Playbook-Demo video in their listings - your app does NOT show it. Obviously, it is not located in the Video Folder but somewhere in the bowels of the PB. So, the filemanagers are relying on some "file structure" that is not fully correct. But your app does not appear to show it.

I'm looking for a good and reliable Password Manager App for the iPhone with sync capabilities on macs. I've read several reviews on several different apps on iTunes, and either they don't work properly, or they're a rip off, or they just don't sync or all of the above. Any recommendations?

HT1535 I am trying to manually manage apps on my new iPad.

I am trying to manually manage apps on my new iPad 3. My daughter has over 500 apps on her iPad. We share an iTunes login id. Her apps are getting loaded on my iPad and are in "waiting" status. I deleted them numerous times, but they appear as "installing" in purchases in app store.
I want to be able to download a very small subset of the apps from my daughters iPad to mine, but many are stuck in the "installing" state. I now have iTunes on my desktop set to manually manage my apps (sync apps is unchecked) but when I first plugged my iPad into the desktop via USB, I think iTunes automatically synced al of my daughter's apps to my iPad.
I know how to download the apps I want from the cloud via Purchases in app store, but how can I get the apps out of "installing" state??

Open button in App World

Why is there no open button in app worls, if I already installed an app and visit it's description page.
It would be really nice to not only see the "delete"-button but also be able to quickly start the app instead of having to search for the app in the app drawer.

What I do when I get a new computer is the first time I turn it on is use Setup Assistant. Once Setup Assistant has finished doing its thing, the new computer is just like my old one.

IPad/iPhone Backup/Management App for PC?

I'm fed up with the massive headache that's called iTunes. I don't want a Backup/Management App for my iPad and iPhone that is music centric. I have a lot of valuable information, applications, photos, videos, and documents on my iPad and iPhone that needs to be effectively backed up and managed. And yes, I want to back up/management my music too. I want a well written app that does it all. Is there an application that does this?

A Financial Management App that works for the UK??

I've been running a MacBook Pro for some five years and have also used a Parallels partition to run some legacy Windows programs such as Quicken Deluxe 2000!
I am now determined to dump the Parallels partition and now need a money management app that runs under Yosemite and is suitable for a UK user - we cannot (easily) buy the US/Canada Quicken software anymore - so I need a package that will run UK£ and can handle multiple accounts but I do not need any stock market look up capability etc.

I ran Quicken Deluxe 2002 for years and now I use Quicken 2007 for Mac, since it is now compatible with Snow Leopard through Yosemite.
You can obtain it for $15 using the Intuit online chat function, and I assume they will sell and ship to the UK. Try it:

Since you are using Quicken Deluxe 2000 you first need to convert the data files while still running in Tiger/Leopard/Snow Leopard:
Download Quicken 2006 (PPC) from Intuit:

Open your data file in Quicken 2006 (PPC) and it will automatically convert it to Quicken 2005/6/7 data file.

Can anyone recommend relatively simple and inexpensive project-management apps that will sync between Mavericks, iPad and iPhone?
I am interested in a simple way to keep track of personal projects that will cloud-sync between my iMac, iPad and iPhone. Ominfocus seems to be the type of thing I need, but to purchase apps for all three devices would be $140.
I have been using Apple's Reminders app. But, among other things, it doesn't seem to print items including notes of actions, conversations, etc. In addition, Reminders doesn't seem to allow enlarging a task or reminder to better read the notes.
