Code above closing body tag.

Hi,
How do I add a code in Muse that should be placed directly above the closing <body> tag?

You can insert your custom HTML through Object -> Insert HTML option, then once it populates, drag it to the bottom corner in Design mode. The code may not place exactly above the closing body tag but above "JS includes" and shouldn't really affect the functionality of your custom HTML. Can you try it out?
Thanks,
Vinayak

  • Help! BC-Muse : Custom Code before closing Body tag

    I have a  project that is ongoing am constantly updating and publishing from Muse. I also have a custom code that is inserted before the closing body tag that I can't place in Muse (Because the feature is not supported). Every time I publish in Muse I lose this code because Muse will override the page always. So I have to go the code section in BC for the page and reinsert the code. This is giving me headache and stress on my back and sight.
    How can I permanently place  this code before the closing body tag once without the stress mentioned earlier and without Muse re-writing the code for that specific page (I used to think Muse publish edited pages and not the entire site, even when the option to publish 'only modified pages is selected'). Please HELP!

    Thanks Zak, this is the code:
      <script>
    $('#pdropdown').change( function() {
    $('#pdetails>*:not(.hide)').toggleClass('hide');
    var optionVal = $(this).val();
    $('#'+optionVal+'.hide').toggleClass('hide');
    </script>
    I have a web app that loads product list into a dropdown list. (How I wish we had a dropdown list form in Muse that can work with BC web app or a drop down list that can be use to target a specific  widget ID.) Maybe its time Muse widgets have ID so we can target them to appear by fading in, sliding in, etc.)

  • Missing closing body tag

    Hello,
    I'm seeing an issue that has been mentioned a couple of times in this forum, but hasn't been resolved -- at least no final resolution is posted.
    The behavior is that the closing body tag is missing from rendered pages which use the ui:body tag. This does not appear to be related to tiles of jsp fragments specifically.
    I am posting an identical question to the JSF forums since this is a component from the webui jar.
    Thanks so much for listening and please post if you know anything about this issue and its resolution.

    I am getting this too. My pages are all designed as flow-layout with embedded group panels. All my group panels have "block" set (making them divs).
    I have made the following observations.
    If a page is navigated to by typing the url into the browser address bar, or by clicking on a hyperlink (with no action defined) then the page is rendered without a closing body tag </body>
    If a page is navigated to by clicking on a link which has an action defined, then the resultant page is rendered with a closing body tag.
    In addition I have noticed that if you have group panels embedded in each other, some with block set (div), and others with block not set (span) then the closing tags sometimes do not match e.g. you may get two opening tags like <div><span> but the closing tags will be </div></div> which can cause no end of formatting issue. As a workaround I make all my group panels blocks so that this does not happen.

  • - Code Rewriting (closing IMG tags)

    Under "Code Rewriting" in the preferences, I have "fix
    unclosed tags"
    checked... however, everytime I open a document, DW warns me
    that all my IMG
    tags are unclosed.
    Why isn't it closing them? I keep formatting the page but
    nothing's
    changing, and those popup warnings are really annoying.

    I was typing waaay to fast.
    Why would XHTML page in DW NOT automatically close the image
    tags?

  • Write PHP code above HTML tag

    I've created a toolset that allows me to add Form fields that
    we use in our system. But now I want to take that a step further. I
    want to be able to write corresponding PHP code above the HTML tag
    at a specific location. This while looping through the formfields
    in the form and dynamically write the INSERT and/or UPDATE query.
    The last bit I can probably figure out. What I would like to
    know is how to write the code above the HTML tag between <?
    ?> or with a search/replace of the INSERT or UPDATE line in the
    code.
    Can anyone give me some hints or tips on this?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Bahare,
    The <script> tag is used to define a client-side script, such as a JavaScript.
    The <script> element either contains scripting statements or it points to an external script file through the src attribute.Common
    uses for JavaScript are image manipulation, form validation, and dynamic changes of content.
    You should write C# code inside asp.net (C#)(.cs).page. For more infomation,Please check
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/k33801s3(v=vs.100).aspx
    In addition,
    This forum is to discuss problems of C# development.
    You'll need to post it in
    ASP.NET forum for more efficient responses, where you can contact ASP.NET experts.
    Best Regards,
    Kristin

  • Need to have option to place html code in body tag

    right now one can place code in the head tag but not the body tag.  that is a needed feature.  for example, to use a counter, like with statcounter.com, you have to place the code in the body tag (at the end they say).  that is not an option with muse.  i am told you need to use an external editor to do that.  I don't want to do that. should be able to do it through muse.  any chance of this being added soon?
    thank you,
    Victoria

    But then won't I have to parse through the entire HTML document to find out where it is linking to?

    Disclaimer: I don't use Templates - you probably need to make these changes to your template file. Maybe some template experts will correct me, but here's my $.02.
    Then again
    <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" -->
    <!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
    both look like they're out of place to me.
    Anyway:
    If that really is all of the code from your page, then you're missing at least the following:
    DOCTYPE
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Your Title Goes Here</title>
    </head>
    </body>
    </html>
    Add the DOCTYPE by selecting File->Convert->HTML 4.01 Strict (Dreamweaver->Convert->... if on a Mac) from the menus.
    In Code View, just underneath the newly added DOCTYPE code, add:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Whatever you want</title>
    Now, just above your <body> tag, add:
    </head>
    And at the very bottom of the page, add:
    </body>
    </html>
    Sidenote: Since you're already defining the body's background color with CSS, you can change this:
    <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
    to this:
    <body>
    Mark "Cheers" Boyd
    Keep-On-Learnin' :-)

  • Another question - using dynamic value body tag????

    Can this be done?

    Thanks
    Andy

    Change what you have to this -
    <body onload="@@(onload)@@">
    The downside to this method is that your popup link WILL NOT
    BE MANAGED. If
    you change the name of the page or the location of the page,
    you will have
    to change the value of this Template parameter, and then save
    it to
    propagate through the site. Then, of course, you will have to
    upload your
    local files again.
    You do know that this popup will be blocked by modern
    browsers, right?

  • Missing body tag from my code?

    Hi, my server (Domain Express / Parallels) won't let me edit my live website (in WYSIWYG mode) because it can't find the <body> tag. It all works perfectly in the site I created in iWeb - www.franhayterconsulting.co.uk , but not working at all in the one I have used Dreamweaver for - www.kateharrisconsulting.co.uk . Is there a genius out there that can help spot what I've done differently?
    As a newbie, iWeb and Dreamweaver are so helpful for simple sites - but unfortunately the first sign of a problem and I'm clueless!! Thank you so much for any advice, much appreciated indeed.

    The minimum structure for an HTML document looks like
    <!doctype html>
    <html>
         <head>
         </head>
         <body>
         </body>
    </html>
    The highlighted tags are not present in your document.
    Also have a look here http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kateharrisconsulting.co.uk%2F

  • Unbalanced Body Tag on a line that doesn't exist

    I'm receiving an unbalanced body tag error on line 129 and
    line 194, however these two lines don't exist in the template
    ALSO, whenever I create new pages from the template it
    automatically tries to save the new pages as .dwt and places them
    in the templates folder instead of the chosen format of html.
    Please advise. (see code attached)

    This REALLY definitely means your page is scrambled. Are you
    using FILE |
    New From Template when you create these new pages?
    Looking at the code below, I can see several anomalies.
    1. There is this unnecessary line - <!-- TemplateInfo
    codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->. Why is it there?
    2. There is NO editable region around the <title> tag.
    3. There is NO editable region in the head of the page in
    addition to #2,
    above.
    These last two are the sign of an improperly made template.
    Do this -
    Create a new page (Basic HTML).
    Use FILE | Save as Template....
    Look at the code in the head region of the page, particularly
    the editable
    region around the <title> tag, and the other editable
    region in the head
    called "head".
    Make your template file look like that.
    Always use FILE | Save as Template when you create your
    templates and you
    won't have this problem again.

  • Template error when pasting code between editable region tags

    Hi everyone,
    The following code snippet is part of the code in my template file:
      <div id="content">
      <div id="content_main">
        <div id="content_inner"><!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="inner" --><!-- InstanceEndEditable --></div>
        <div id="sidebar">
        <h3 class="round2">Categories</h3>
    Note that the above code contains an editable region as follows:
    <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="inner" --><!-- InstanceEndEditable -->
    Back in my file that's attached to this template, I tried to paste code between these two tags:
    <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="inner" --> A whole heap of code was pasted here <!-- InstanceEndEditable -->
    But I'm getting the following error:
    "You have made changes to code that is not marked as editable. If you retain those changes, they will be lost the next time you apply a template update to this file. Do you want to retain the changes until then?"
    I don't know why it's saying this since I'm adding code in between the two instance editable tags.
    Does anyone know what's going on here?
    Appreciate any help.

    Hello hth
    Just so you'll know, although 'hth' looks like a signature, it's really an abbreviation for "hope this helps"!
    I have put the code in that you suggested, (via new style sheet I named paradent) enclosed the text within the <p>...</p> but still not working:
    P
    .twoColLiqLtHdr #container #mainContent .paradent {
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: medium;
    font-weight: normal;
    text-indent: 35px;
    word-spacing: normal;
    <span class="paradent">No color flagged the coming of spring to the Lowveld. The rains were late again, and from the Limpopo to the Sabi River and beyond into Mozambique, the mopani trees were leafless and grey; the wide rivers dry and white under the relentless sun.<br />
    This is not valid code - it's not how you use CSS.
    All CSS needs to either be placed in an external stylesheet which is linked in the head of the document, embedded between <style> tags in the head of the document, or placed inline in the target tag.  Examples of each would be -
    LINKED -
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="path_to_CSS_file.css" type="text/css">
    </head>
    EMBEDDED -
    <style type="text/css">
    body { margin:0; }
    </style>
    INLINE -
    <body style="margin:0;">
    Yours is not only in the wrong place (within the body content), but it's also between <p> tags rather than <style> tags.  That's not going to work at all.  Can you handle getting that rule into the right place in your code?

  • Dreamweaver CC Library Item with rollover link produces two body tags. Why?

    I have a library item which is used in two pages and works correctly if it does not contain a rollover arrow with a link taking you to the top of the library item. This produces the following near the top of each of the containing pages:
    </head>
    <body class="indexpage">
    <!-- #BeginLibraryItem "/Library/homemenu.lbi" -->
    <p><a id="top"></a></p>
    Note that the Library Item does not itself have a <body> tag in this original, working version.
    The problem arises when I insert an image rollover with a link up to #top (which is defined as above).
    First, the Library Item has the following near its top:
    <script ...>
    ... various functions to handle the rollover
    </script>
    <body onLoad="MM_preloadImages('../images/uparrowred2.gif')">
    <p><a id="top"></a></p>
    Secondly, the containing pages now have the following near the top:
    </head>
    <body class="indexpage" onLoad="MM_preloadImages('images/uparrowred2.gif)">
    <!--#BeginLibraryItem "Library/homemenu.lbi" -->
    <script ...>
    ... various functions to handle the rollover
    </script>
    <body onLoad="MM_preloadImages('../images/uparrowred2.gif')">
    <p><a id="top"></a></p>
    It can be seen (shown in red) that the Library Item has correctly transferred the onLoad instruction to the containing page's <body> tag and at the same time altered the address of the GIF image from '../images/xxx.gif' to 'images/xxx.gif'. [The root folder with the various html pages has a number of subfolders including 'images' and 'Library']. But now, unfortunately, the containing pages have two <body> tags with the second one pointing to the wrong location for the GIF image.
    Would someone please explain what is going on. I can think of three possibilities: (1) I may be doing something really stupid, (2) there may be a bug in Dreamweaver CC or (3) Library Items may not be allowed to contain anything "complicated" like a rollover. I did see a very old (2007) discussion in this forum suggesting that Library Items were rather limited in what they could contain, but over the intervening six years I would have expected things to have improved.

    Thank you, but in that case I'm not sure I understand the purpose of Library Items. Before I added the Library Item, there was nothing to preload. When I add a rollover to the Library Item, Dreamweaver creates the preloader instruction within the Library Item. Then when I include the Library Item in an html page, Dreamweaver controls where the preloader is put.
    Do I then need to manually edit what Dreamweaver has done? In this instance it would have been almost as quick to have ignored the use of a Library Item and copied and pasted the relevant code into the two pages and manually created the revised <body> tag with a preloader. In my relative inexperience with Dreamweaver, I just thought that using a Library Item in multiple pages would save me some effort when I wanted to change the content of the Library Item. As I said, the Library Item worked OK until I added a rollover within it.

  • body tag problem

    I'am currently migrating my old website from Frontpage 2003
    to Dreamweaver CS3. I have beeen following a online tutorial, in
    which it details how to sucessfully move. I have come to a point in
    the tutorial which I do not understand. Here are the instructions:
    You must put a specifc code before and after all instances of
    your <body> tag. However, this tag may have varying
    attributes in different pages. Therefore:
    Replace all instances of your <body> tag containg your
    most standard attributes:
    <body (standard attributes)>
    with:
    <b*ody (standard attributes)>
    I do not understand the "<body (standard attributes)>".
    In find and replace, how do I find "standard attributes" and what
    does this mean?
    Any help would be greatfully recieved.

    Just out of curiosity -
    How many pages are in your site?
    Have you used FP Themes?
    Have you used FP Shared Borders?
    Can you post a link to the home page for this site?
    Anyhow, I see what he's doing. And it's clever.
    > Everything else before this was pretty straight forward
    but this whole
    > "(satandard attributes)" thing is confusing.
    Let's see the answers to the above questions, and I'll guide
    you as to the
    rest....
