Cold-Failover with Oracle Weblogic Server 10 R3

Hi ALL,
It is possible to configure cold-failover using Oracle Weblogic Server?/
- 2 instances with the same ip, if one fails the second will run
- Not comunication between nodes like in normal cluster
Thanks

Hello All,
Have anybody configured auto server migration for cold failover?
I have a few questions regarding this setup, any help is much appreciated.
1. for the floating ips to work, do I need 2 NICS and two cables on each server?
2. Do I have to configure 2 different ips on one interface, which will be used as node manager listen address's for each of the 2 machines?
3. What will be the listen address of each of these servers(primary server & failover server)? Is it the floating ip address? or empty (all local addresses)?
4. can we start both the primary server & failover server so when primary goes down, the failover will be quick?
Thanks,
Chandra

  • Deployment Manager Error with Oracle Weblogic Server 10.3.1

I have installed Identity Manager 9.1.0.2 (patch upgraded from 9.1.0.1) on OEL 5.3 64bit and Weblogic 10.3.1
    Database:Oracle 11gR2 (remote machine).
**I am aware that IM 9.1.0.2 is not certified on Weblogic 10.3.1 (it is only certified on 10.3),
The installation was successful and OIManager is up and running. Able to create Users, Resources etc. as well.
As part of configuring OIM Connectors tried to Import .xml file using Import option from Deployment Management section as below and the following error was displayed.
"Either your session timed out or you are trying to access a page without logging in".
Did all workarounds like enabling java, changing browsers, restarting machine etc as per the below discussion but in vain.
Deployment Manager Error with Oracle Weblogic Server
Can any one suggest any workaround or solution for this problem.
Or atleast can any one confirm there is no Identity manager available on this date which is compatible with 10.3.1? and cannot be continued further.
    Thanks in Advance

You are facing this issue because you're using a non certified combination.
Other folks who tried to use OIM in 10.3.1 ended up in the same problem you're facing.

  • Configuring Apache HTTP Server with Oracle Weblogic Server plugin

    Hello friends,
I have a scenario of OIM 9.1.0.2 on Oracle Application Server 11g and Weblogic Server Apache HTTP Server.
Oracle WebLogic Server is configured in cluster (node1 and node2), also use the Oracle Weblogic Server plugin for integration with Apache.
One of the tests is to lose one of the nodes for the apache plugin redirects the node that has less overhead.
When the mode is node1 and node2 stop start mode and try to access the management console of Oracle Identity Manager, the plugin sometimes redirects to the other active node, and on another occasion shows the oracle management console identity manager without the colors of the basic look and feel.
Deputy of the Apache HTTP Server log, do you expect your comments to solve this case?

This is somewhat strange, do you have session binding turned off?
"and on another occasion shows the oracle management console identity manager without the colors of the basic look and feel."
This could happen due to mime types (not really sure just a hunch). Here is a general story on this concept: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Properly_Configuring_Server_MIME_Types

  • Deployment Manager Error with Oracle Weblogic Server

    Hi,
Every time i try to open nexaweb client for Import/Export. I get the following error:-
"Either your session timed out or you are trying to access a page without logging in." .
Are there any other permission I'm suppose to grant nexaweb through Welogic admin control?

I still had no luck with neither
    * Weblogic 10.3 (the import applet doesn't match the authentication in the web application, no matter which JDK 5/6 I set in the browser or if I use IE instead of FireFox)
    * OC4J (downloaded from the oracle.com): the install_server.sh script complains about the server not being running (while I can shutdown it by RMI console with no problem using the same username/password/RMI port).
Instead I tried JBoss 4.2.3 (downloaded from jboss.com) and unzipped it:install_server.sh works without problem just saying

Which is due to the fact that i previously configured weblogic: so I copied it from my OIM Weblogic installation:
    cp ./oim.weblogic/xellerate/config/.xldatabasekey oim/xellerate/config/
Run the OIM-ized JBoss instance and, voila'!, the import applet now perfectly recognizes my logged in user and I can now proceed with my real work ... just thinking that I lost 4 days around configuring the OIM server with Weblogic ...

  • Installing Oracle SOA Suite with the WebLogic Server

    Hi all,
I am trying to install Oracle SOA Suite with the WebLogic Server. After following the step-by-step instruction in the "Installing Oracle SOA Suite with the WebLogic Server" document, I ran into the following situation: I have a working WebLogic Server with all applications deployed. Hi Boris,
Looks like you have not run the post upgrade script for 10.1.3.4.
You need to install SOA 10.1.3.4 Basic Installation. Then start following : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/core.1013/e13058/weblogic.htm#BHCIIBFB
You basically, first install 10.1.3.4 basic SOA install, Apply the Opatch 7337034 (HOTPLUG: SOASUITE 10.1.3.4 ON WEBLOGIC 9.2 - CHANGES FOR HOTPLUGGABILITY). Install WLS 9.2 MP3.
Now, Download the Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 WebLogic Server 9.2 : patch : 7490612.
Then , Modify the following mandatory installation properties in the Weblogic_SOA10134_Base\SOADomain.properties file as per the documentation above.
    Cheers

  • Is Oracle Weblogic server  10.3 compatible with jdk 1.5.0?

When i point 1.5.0 JDK version to Oracle Weblogic server 10.3 "Bad version number in .class file" error is thrown while starting the server.
can any one help me to resolve this issue?
    Edited by: user10643892 on Nov 23, 2008 10:40 PM

    Hi, there.
You are right. The overview page has no clear statement on JDK. However, if you look into the supported operating system links, you'll find only JDK 6 is supported. Example for Solaris:
    http://edocs.bea.com/platform/suppconfigs/configs/solaris/solaris10_103.html
Note that there is support for JDK 5 clients, which may be useful to you:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/notes/new.html#wp1090981
I hope this answers your question.

  • Oracle Identity Manager 9.1.0.2 and Oracle Weblogic server 11g R1 b(10.3.1)

    Hi,
can we Install Oracle Identity Manager 9.1.0.2 version on Oracle Weblogic server 11h R1 b(10.3.1)?
Is it OIM 9.1.0.2 compatible to install on Oracle Weblogic server 11h R1 b(10.3.1).
    Early response is appreciated

    Check this
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/idm_certification_101401.html#BABGBGHI
    And Oracle has mentioned that
    *2.1 Certified Application Servers*
Note: There is no change in application server certification from
    release 9.1.0.1 to release 9.1.0.2.
    Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3
But you can try with new version of Weblogic. It shouldn't create any problem.

    Hi,
I was able to figure out the root cause. I was using the primitive data type "int" for primary key and foreign key for one of the beans in the relationship. After I changed it to "Integer" wrapper type, the issue got resolved.

  • Oracle WebLogic Server - Oracle Spatial NDM-LOD Implementation

    Hi,
I have a Network Data Model using Load on Demand approach implementation in Oracle WebLogic Server. Upon uploading of the java web service to my WebLogic Server, everything works fine and I can do network analysis functions using the LOD API.
My problem is, whenever I add additional data to my Nodes and Links table, or I totally deleted all records in my Nodes and Links and repopulated the table with new data, I encounter the error Start node cannot be found.
This are my sample screenshots for your reference.
Initial Uploading of Java Web Service (Network Analysis Functions are working):
    http://sdrv.ms/1i3Gw6s
After I Deleted all Nodes and Links data and repopulate new Network Data, I encounter Start node cannot be found:
    http://sdrv.ms/1i3FDuM
But if you are going to look at my Node Table below, the node is existing in the database.
    http://sdrv.ms/1i3G8F4
The only solution that I found to resolve this error is to update or redeploy the Java Web Service that have my Network Analysis functions. But this solution is basically not acceptable since my network data is constantly changing and more nodes and links are being added everyday.
Does anyone have any Idea on how to resolve this without updating or redeploying my Java Web Service?

    Hi,
I would like to follow-up with my inquiry above.

I even tried startup & Deployment option as "Start weblogic server in Expressmode" and still same error I am getting and this time instead of in eclipse console, I can see command prompt and here also showing "Server state changed to STARTING"
FYI, I created domain with runtime JRocket 1.6.0_05.
I even tried to clean build the portal project and publish using clean option. Still same problem coming :(
FYI, my system is having 1 GB RAM only and bit slow. Could this be a problem or something else? Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Gopikrish
The root cause for your error is, it is not able to start the Pointbase database. Looks like you configured a domain with default pointbase database. In the domain\bin\ one of the starup scripts like startWeblogic.cmd, you should see some lines that start the pointbase database.
java.sql.SQLException: SQL-server rejected establishment of SQL-connection. Pointbase Server may not be running on localhost at port 9093
Instead of starting from Workshop, go to the domain root folder and start the weblogic using the command like startWeblogic.cmd (or .sh on unix). This should start the pointbase and then start the portal domain. Portal domain does need this backend pointbase database to store all the portal meta data and has datasources configured for this.
Do you have a Clustered Portal domain, with one of the managed servers located in the remote machine. If yes, and if you use default Pointbase database, you need to change something like pointbase db should not be localhost but the name of the machine where you have the admin server running.
Either way, the issue is not able to stat the pointbase db and thus serve not starting.
    Thanks

  • Oracle JDBC Driver too old in Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3

I check oracle jdbc driver bundles in the Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3
The version is too old,and current version is:
Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1.0.7.0) JDBC Drivers
    The question is:
Could we replace the old ojdbc6.jar with the current one (11.1.0.7.0)?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, but be sure the new driver provides the classes registered in Administration Console that are provided by ojdbc6.jar when you configure jdbc resources to Oracle database

I run into the same issue that ravi_b had. When i tried to run the http:/<host>:8001/StoreFrontModule/faces/home.jspx I dont see any items or links.
For "host", I am using the IP of SOAHOST1 and port 8001. In server log I see below exceptions, which is similar to rave_b, but not exactly the same,
