    I am tring to upgrade my system kernel from 144 to 179, the system based on AIX 6.1 and DB2 B9.5.2,

    Hi Jayesh,
    from your description I would guess that the IO error is not related to the kernel change at all.
    Please have a look at db2diag.log for the real cause of the problem.
    You should be able to reproduce the error with
    db2 activate database <dbname>

  • "No Items Found" when connecting to database

    Recently when I connect to a SQL database and expand the tables I get a "No Items Found" message. I have verified that the data is there and another individual has no problems connecting. I have permission to access and everything is set-up correctly.
    I am using Crystal Reports version 11.5.8.826.
    Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may have caused the problem, it happened overnight?

    Hi  Katrina Ramey,
    This is due to  database updating problems.
    So, just try to create a new database connection (odbc) and try to repoint to your database tables.
    You can just update the connection or verify the database option from  the Database Tab.
    The tables might not be updated  from the database, some particular point of time this error occurs.
    Thanks,
    Naveen.

  • The Database Connection could not be found

    Hi guys,
    we did a complete new installation of EPM 11.1.2.1 for a testing environment.
    Did the installation 1-1 to our production system.
    But on TEST we have the problem to create database connections:
    Tools > Database Connection Manager > New Database Connection > Fails:
    8001: The Database Connection could not be found: -15da10bd_1378bcfb29f_-7d2c
    Any ideas?
    I am Admin and have all privileges.
    The problem exists for Essbase connections and HFM, too.
    Regards,
    Bernd

    Are you using a NAS share for storing reporting and analysis files? I mean the RM1 folder?

  • Workspace Error 8001: The Database Connection could not be found

    We had to reboot all our windows servers recently and since then all the database connections in the database base manager in workspace are gone.
    I can see all the existing reports but cannot use any of them as I dont have any connections.
    Also I cannot create any new connections
    I get the error 8001: The Database Connection could not be found: 13cbd63_12b5e2a8b73_-7f8f when I try to create a new connection.
    Not sure what the problem is.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Pat,
    It loks like your Biplus relational DB is corrupted, try with those steps:
    1. De-register BI+ from Shared Services (Config Utility->Hyperion Reporting and Analysis > Deregister from Shared Services)
    2. Configure against the backup database (Drop and recreate tables option).
    3. Re-register BI+ with Shared Services.
    4. Re-deploy BI+.
    5. Test Workspace and add new connections.
    Regards.

  • Closing the database connection after report in a server application

    I searched these forums and the internet for a definitive answer on asking the Crystal SDK for java to close the jdbc connection after it has generated a report.  We have been using the Crystal Report SDK to generate reports within our JEE application, built upon the Spring framework, for the past two years.  It works well, especially if you prepare views in the database for your reports.
    From what I can tell once you have used ReportClientDocument to create your report you all the close() method to release resources associated with report generation, but this does not close the jdbc database connection.
    Further research states that if you are using the CrystalReportViewer you can call the dispose method to close the database connection.  We are not using JSP nor this class, so that does us little good.
    Finally I found a post that one could call ((AdvancedReportDocument)reportClientDocument.getReportSource()).dispose().  This doesn't drop the connection either.
    Each report actually opens 3 connections according to SQL Server.  Each report will reuse the connections it has open, so for 50 reports, theoretically, we could have up to 150 connections.  We explained to our client those connections  remain inactive, however this is unacceptable to our client as they would like to minimize the number of connections left open to their database.
    If anyone can post any further information on this issue, it is much appreciated.

    Yes, another team member found the issue.  Quite embarrassing really I didn't see it.  I was looking for the answer within Crystal's libraries.  It had nothing to do with Crystal.
    The developer who wrote the helper code for using Crystal first opened a connection to the datasource for the live production database and read that connection information for the report. Next he set that connection information in the report template's PropertyBag, then ran the report. The developer however forgot to close the connection he used to look up the connection info, leaving a memory leak and using up all the connections.
    I'm glad you inquired.  I forgot to post the resolution here.

  • JDBC Adapter - Established database connection failed

    Hi Guys,
    we have installed the JDBC Adapter based on the How To Guide and we checked after the installation the  Libaries :Cluster --> Server --> Libraries --> com.sap.aii.af.jmsproviderlib and the box Box "JARs Contained" was filled.
    So in my point of view we have done everything right during the installation.
    Now the developer tested theJDBC Adapter and he comes back with following Error:
    Attempt to establish database connection failed with SQL error com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagementException: Cannot establish connection to URL "jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://xxx.x.xx.xxx:1433; databaseName=CZZ03;":ClassNot FoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver

  • J2EE Struts - Database connection failed - help???:(

    Hello,
    I have built a little web application and it works without any problems. In the next step I tried to add a database connection but I have already worked on it for at least one day and I could not fix the problem with the database connection.
    I downloaded the MySQL Server 5.0 and installed it, furthermore I have downloaded the jdbc driver mysql-connector-java-3.1.11.zip and extracted it to the MySQL Server 5.0 directory. Furthermore I have added under system settings - system - etended - system variables the whole path to the driver -> C:\Programme\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\mysql-connector-java-3.1.11\mysql-connector-java-3.1.11-bin.jar to the CLASSPATH systemvariable.
    Then I have startet the SQL Server 5.0 with mysqld --console from the command line.
    Furthermore I have added under Project-Properties-Java Build Path - Libraries - Add External JARs in Eclipse the mysql-connector-java-3.1.11-bin.jar to my Struts WebProject.
    To test the whole thing I have added to the existing test-database from mysql a table named owner and wanted to test the database connection in the Action-class with the following statements - I quote the whole execute method of the OwnerAction class:
    public ActionForward execute(
                     ActionMapping mapping,
                     ActionForm form,
                     HttpServletRequest request,
                     HttpServletResponse response)
                     throws Exception {
                   OwnerForm ownerForm = (OwnerForm) form;
                   String greet = ownerForm.getGreet();
                   String name = ownerForm.getName();
                   request.setAttribute("name", name);
                   request.setAttribute("greet", greet);
                   String address = ownerForm.getAddress();
                   String email = ownerForm.getEmail();
                   int tel = ownerForm.getTel();
                   Connection conn = null;

                         stmt = conn.createStatement();
                         int id = 0;
                         rs = stmt.executeQuery("select max(id) as counter from owner");
                         while(rs.next()){
                            id = rs.getInt("counter");
                         id += 1;
                         stmt.executeUpdate("insert into owner values("+id+", '"+greet+"', '"+name+"', '"+email+"', '"+address+"', "+tel+")");
                         rs.close();
                         stmt.close();

  • How database connection pooling works in a application

    Hi Guys,
    I am new to Java and looking into best way of doing J2ee database conectivity. I am using Eclipse galileo3.5 J2EE with Mysql database and Tomcate 6.0.
    I am developing an email application where I need to implement MVC model for my webapplication, using jsp for presentation, servlet for control and java beans for model.
    I came across two tutorial for database connection pooling as given below.
    Eclipse Corner Article: Creating Database Web Applications with Eclipse - In this tutorial connection pooling is configure in Tomcate 6.0
    It says Copy and paste the following into your context.xml file (you may have to click on the Source tab at the bottom of the editor to be able to paste). This defines a DataSource with the name "jdbc/SampleDB". Our application will retrieve database connections from the pool using this name.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Context>
    <Resource name="jdbc/SampleDB" auth="Container"
    type="javax.sql.DataSource"
    username="app" password="app"
    driverClassName="org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDrive r"
    url="jdbc:derby://localhost:1527/sample"
    maxActive="8" />
    </Context>
    Where as in second tutorial - http://www.roseindia.net/answers/viewanswers/2838.html
    It uses java bean for connection pooling and then use straight way in JSP and no Servlet used.
    conpool.jsp
    <%@page import="java.sql.Connection"%>
    <jsp:useBean id="pl" class="com.CoreJava.ConnectionPooling"/>
    <% Connection con = pl.getConnection(); %>
    //do something using con
    connectionPooling.java
    import com.mysql.jdbc.jdbc2.optional.MysqlConnectionPoolD ataSource;
    public class ConnectionPooling
    static Connection con=null;
    public static Connection getConnection()
    try
    MysqlConnectionPoolDataSource po=new MysqlConnectionPoolDataSource();
    po.setServerName("localhost");
    po.setPortNumber(3306);
    po.setDatabaseName("mydatabase"); //changeur database name
    po.setUser("root");//ur username
    po.setPassword("");//ur password
    con = po.getConnection();
    catch(Exception e)
    System.out.println("Exception Connection :"+e);
    return con;
    Please some one explain which is the best way of doing connection pooling to the database by using MVC pattern
    Please if some one advise me how to use MVC architecture for simple email application and database connectivty.
    Thanks

    Never EVER use roseindia. It is terrible shit.
    [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2008/06/what-is-it-with-roseindia.html]
    The correct answer is what you found in the eclipse article. And you can read the Tomcat docs for more.
    As per usual the code you have posted from Roseindia is a big pile of rubbish that was written by a complete idiot. I mean the person who wrote it apparently doesn't know much Java at all. Let alone JDBC. Or Connection pools. Or J2EE. It's not the worst I've seen from them but it's pretty bad.

ONE SOLUTION SAID THAT I NEED TO PLACE OJDBC14.JAR FILE IN MY COMMON/LIB FOLDER ...BUT IM UNABLE TO FIND THAT JAR FILE.....WHAT TO DO.. PLEASE HELP...... IM TOTALLY FRUSTRATED DUE TO WHICH IM NOT ABLE TO DO ANY SERVLET PROGRAMMING THAT INVOLVES DATABASE CONNECTIVITY...
    THANKS IN ADVANCE

    First of all, don't type everything in uppercase. It is unreadable and impolite (to shout at someone).
    Second, you should not be using the JDBC-ODBC driver for connecting to a Oracle database. There is a pure Java type -4 driver for Oracle available for download. Check the Oracle download page.
    Third, your ojdbc14.jar should NOT be added to common/lib. You should place it in the WEB-INF/lib for the web application. It is not a good idea to mix custom jars with the server libraries.
    Finally, you need to configure a datasource in Tomcat and use that to obtain a connection.

  • Database Connection Error:BAPI Error #0

    I have a problem when I preview a report in Crystal Reports 2008 using BW MDX Query I had recieved the following messages:
    1.Failed to retrieve data from database
    and then when I click ok
    2.Database Connection Error:BAPI Error #0
    Error occurred  when starting the parser:timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL'ThSAPCMRCV'
    I copied the query of crystal report and I execute it inside the transaction of mdxtest
    SELECT  NON EMPTY EXCEPT([0CALMONTH].MEMBERS, {[0CALMONTH].[All]}) ON ROWS FROM [USD_SD_C0/RPT_1] SAP VARIABLES [!V000001] INCLUDING [0CALMONTH].[200401]
    I found the debugger had stopped in the line Break when I click on F8
    I recieve the following error
    Error occurred when starting the parser: timeout
    during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'
    Please anybody can help me

    Dear Ingo
    I had read this note
    I applied the following:
    1.I didn't found the lrfc32.dll in the windows/system32 in my BW server so I asked my basis administrator to upgrade the kernel
    2.after this step I didn't find it again so I had copied the file from the new kernel and copied it to system32 and sysWow
    3.I register successfuly the lrfc32.dll using the commanf regsvr c:/windows/system32/lfrc32.dll
    (note: this step didn't succeed until I had installed SAP GUI in BW server because as I observed that there is a need for C++ compiler which is installed by default when you install GUI)
    after all of this I cannot run any crystal report based on any BW query
    So Please anyboday can help

  • Database Connection Error Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory

    Hello everyone,
    Background:
    I have a newly installed and configured Ubuntu server running Tomcat5.5 and Mysql 5.0. This server was created in an attempt to migrate from a Red Hat server in a similar configuration, running the exact same webapp. Most of the configuration/classpath differences between the two platforms have been ironed out.
    The Problem:
    When our webapp trys to connect to the database on localhost, an exception 'java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission localhost resolve)' is generated.
    The server.xml configuration is below:
    <Resource name="jdbc/EconDollarsDB"
    auth="Container"
    type="javax.sql.DataSource"
    username="user"
    password="pass"
    driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
    url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/DBName?autoReconnect=true"
    maxActive="20" maxIdle="5"
    />I can connect to the database just fine using the command line client and the same username/password combo. This configuration has been working fine for at least a year on the older server. The only similar problems I have found on the net (meaning the same exception is generated) involve applets and attempts to connect to different hosts. This case involves a webapp, connecting to localhost, using a configuration that is known to work! I am simply baffled.
    The following stacktrace is generated:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Database Connection Error
    Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (Server connection failure during transaction. Due to underlying exception: 'java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission localhost resolve)'.

    Hi,
    Its clearly saying the connect permission is missing with the current available policy.
    you add the following permisson entry to the <installed JRE>\lib\security\java.policy file.
    (e.g) C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_08\lib\security\java.policy
    permission java.security.AllPermission;
    grant{
    permission java.security.AllPermission;
    If the application is running standalone then the code is allowed uncontrolled access but for webapplicatons running through browser, the security check is performed for the configured JRE.

  • I am using the database connectivity toolkit to retrieve data using a SQL query. The database has 1 million records, I am retrieving 4000 records from the database and the results are taking too long to get, is there any way of speeding it up?

    I am using the "fetch all" vi to do this, but it is retrieving one record at a time, (if you examine the block diagram) How can i retrieve all records in a faster more efficient manner?

    If this isn't faster than your previous method, then I think you found the wrong example. If you have the Database Connectivity Toolkit installed, then go to the LabVIEW Help menu and select "Find Examples". It defaults to searching for tasks, so open the "Communicating with External Applications" and "Databases" and open the Read All Data. The List Column names just gives the correct header to the resulting table and is a fast operation. That's not what you are supposed to be looking at ... it's the DBTools Select All Data subVI that is the important one. If you open it and look at its diagram, you'll see that it uses a completely different set of ADO methods and properties to retrieve all the data.

    The Shared Library is usually found in the the Executable
    directory (profile parameter DIR_LIBRARY) under the name dbs
    <dbs>slib<os_ext>. <dbs> stands for the database type and <os_ext>
    stands for the operating system-specific extension of the Shared
    Libraries.
    The database type is determined from the entry that corresponds to the
    specified DB ID in the table DBDCON. Check whether the data in this
    entry is correct.

    Information on where terminated
    Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLSLCAPPS" - in
    "LCA_EXISTS_LCA_ROUTINE".
    The main program was "/SAPAPO/TS_BATCH_RUN ".
    In the source code you have the termination point in line 23
    of the (Include) program "LSLCAPPSU05".
    The program "SAPLSLCAPPS" was started as a background job.
    Job Name....... "MACROS"
    Job Initiator.. "SC7GEN"
    Job Number..... 10222002
    The termination is caused because exception "CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERROR" occurred
    in
    procedure "LCA_EXISTS_LCA_ROUTINE" "(FUNCTION)", but it was neither handled
    locally nor declared
    in the RAISING clause of its signature.
    The procedure is in program "SAPLSLCAPPS "; its source code begins in line
    1 of the (Include program "LSLCAPPSU05 ".
    Please help me to resolve the issue.
