ColdFusion + JRE Upgrade = Verity Error?

There's a documented ClassLoader bug in Java 6, which was fixed in update 10. I'm attempting to upgrade the JRE in ColdFusion 8 from 1.6u3 to 1.6u18, and everything seems to be working fine -- with the exception of Verity. Accessing "Verity Collections" through the CF admin or a page containing verity cf tags results in a "Could not initialize class com.verity.security.k2.K2Encrypt" error.
It seems like there was a similar issue with CF 7 when upgrading the JRE. Is there something in the verity.jar that is very version specific, and has anybody found a workaround for this?
Thanks,
Dean

Bit more information, this happened after installing the developer addition and entering our standard licence. As soon as the administrator confirms the licence and updates the "verity K2 server" links disappears from the vertical menu!
I have checked the comparison chart from adobe and standard does have verity.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Verity Errors

Why is it that after all these years Verity support in
Coldfusion is still a black art when it comes to its errors and
support. I have asked numerous places with regards to what Error
(-1705), (-1703) and the dubious General Error(2) mean when
searching or indexing a collection, but know one in the community
or in these forums seems to have the answer. Does Anyone know where
I can find this information. Even the Verity Error reference does
not list these or tell us what any of the errors means other than
it was an error. This is very frustrating and we are now looking at
going to either a google search appliance or rewriting the whole
    thing using Lucene.

Check for a symbolic link from '_ssol26' directory to
'_solaris' directory. They should both be pointing to the same
    directory so check the path.

  • MAIL: The upgrade failed - error occurred during upgrade. launching Mail Import assistant  to repair damaged index did not work

After installing Yosemite, the Mail required an upgrade. the upgrade was completed but resulted in a message: The upgrade failed. error occurred during the upgrade, check continue to launch Mail Import Assistant.
This resulted in an instruction: Your mail index has been damaged. To repair it quit mail. Mail will repair index next time you open mail.
Following this instruction resulted in the same failure message being repeated continuously.
How do I proceed to upgrade the Mail app.?

If doing as the alert directs (relaunching Mail) has no effect, see below.
The new version of Mail stores its database in a different format than the old one, so the database has to be converted before Mail can use it. Sometimes the conversion fails because the old database is corrupt. The easy way to recover is to discard the old database and start afresh. You can do that without losing any messages, provided that:
☞ All your incoming mail accounts are on an IMAP or Exchange server
☞ You store sent messages on the server
☞ You don't have any "On My Mac" mailboxes
Most well-known independent mail services such as iCloud and Gmail are based on IMAP. On the other hand, ISP-hosted mail services almost always use POP. If your ISP is one of your mail service providers (or the only one), you probably can't use this procedure. Ask for further instructions in that case.
If you know that the conditions above are satisfied, continue as follows.
Quit Mail if it's running. Back up all data.
Open the Library folder in your home folder by holding down the option key and selecting
              Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Inside it is a subfolder named "Mail." Move that folder to the Desktop. You're not moving the Mail application; you're moving a folder named "Mail."
Open the Internet Accounts pane in System Preferences and recreate your mail accounts other than iCloud with the same settings as before. To recreate an iCloud mail account, all you have to do is open the iCloud preference pane and check the box marked Mail.
Launch Mail. If all goes well, your mailboxes should be restored automatically. The messages will be downloaded from the servers, so it may take a long time if you have very large mailboxes. Some people have mailboxes in the gigabyte range, and that may be a problem if your bandwidth usage is metered.
If the mailboxes are created successfully, you can delete the folder you moved to the Desktop. You may have to recreate your Mail rules, signatures, and custom stationery. If it's very important to you not to have to do all that, ask for instructions before deleting the folder.

I just upgraded to Yosemite. Iphoto is now broken.  Upon upgrade receiving error "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."

Perform the following, stopping with the first one which works:
    1. Open the Mac App Store's Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept iPhoto into your Apple ID, do so.
    2. Move it out of the Applications folder(it may need to be put into the Trash temporarily), and then see if you can download it for free from its individual product page.
    3. Click here and contact Apple.

This is a bad Hardware Error, most often means Baseband Problem. Maybe try to Restore Firmware with SIM Card removed. If you still have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage take iPhone to Apple for resolution.

  • JRE upgrade  _05

After installing the latest jre upgrade I was getting evaporating browsers on some webpages. The browser window would just disappear. This applies to Mozilla and IE (both latest versions). Opera at least produces the microsoft send/don't send dialog.
I'm running XP pro on an IBM R51.
This webpage has a java applet which may be causing the problem. I am now able to browse this page after uninstalling _05, but it caused the strange behaviour with _05 installed.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this problem, as I'm not a working java developer. Maybe someone could pass this on.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Works ok for me - custom desktop, XP Pro, Java 5.
    Something in your setup, probably.

  • ColdFusion Verity Error

we experiencing lots of issues with the verities, we have
reinstalled ColdFUsion a couple of times
with no luck. Our project due date was long time ago and we
would really appreciate if you can give us some help.
    Please...
We have latest windows server with latest cf . 4gb of ram.
The verity and coldfusion are installed on the same server.
Verity is part of the coldfusion installation. We are using
    Coldfusion 7.02
We are receiving now new error that
<b>An error occurred while creating the collection:
    com.verity.api.administration.ConfigurationException: Failed to
    retrieve style path.</b>
Where should we look at this point.

Ken Smith from Adobe Systems Rocks!
This guy really helped us solving this problem. We had it for
the last couple of weeks. The solution is simple,
    "run cfusionmx7\verity\verity-uninstall.bat and then
cfusionmx7\verity\verity-install.bat inside a DOS window as
    administrator to the windows machine";
    Thank you very much.

The primary reason for this error is when a codec is not installed on the box that your running Windows Media Player from (that is the common knowledge part)...a possible reason for this could be that some wav files are being saved in different formats than others. A quick check to see if there are different CTI port groups configured to use different codec would prove that out. Also...can you play the files on another computer or in a different player like VLC?

  • ColdFusion ReportBuilder 9 nvr_win error

I recently upgraded to 64-bit Enterprise ColdFusion 9 running in a multi-server JRun environment on Windows 2008 Server. When I try to invoke a .cfr that worked perfectly in ColdFusion 8, I get the following error in my server log:
Unable to load library: nvr_win: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Native Library X:\JRun4\servers\server1\cfusion.ear\cfusion.war\WEB-INF\cfusion\lib\nvr_win64.dll already loaded in another classloader
Judging from that error, it looks like their is some collision between 32-bit and 64-bit libraries.
I then end up with this message on the cfm page that calls the cfr:
Unable to execute report decoding function: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError:
    coldfusion.util.ReportDecoder.getReport([B)[B
I tried loading the .cfr in the ColdFusion 9 ReportBuilder, resaving and using that, but that didn't change anything. This is happening on multiple (all?) .cfr files on my site. Please help!
Here is the full stack trace:

Note that restarting the ColdFusion process cleared up the issue for now. But that's not a solution--that's a bandaid. I need to know what caused this in the first place.

  • Verity error

We recently moved from CF6 to CF8. Other than Verity indexing
being extremely slow, I thought all was going well until I tried to
run my Create Collections procedure. These collections were to be
populated under program control from MSAccess database(s). I have
been running this procedure for over 5 years on CF6 and earlier
versions without a hitch. I was setting up my 5th system under CF8
    when this successful string ended.
My procedure crashed with the error message, "Unable to
register collection [collection name]". I had seen this error a
couple of times previously, but just running the procedure again
had always sorted things out successfully. It didn't work this
time. I rebooted the server but nothing changed. I modified my code
so that each of the 21 <cfcollections> in the procedure was
with it's own <cftry><cfcatch> routine. Having each
contained like this, enabled me to power thorugh all the of
creation procedures regardless of how many "failed". If one
creation failed, the next might fail or might work so one failure
    didn't guarantee all failures.
It turns out, that creations didn't fail completely. The
collections were actually being created and seemed to work onced
they were populated under program control (<cfindex>) with
data from an MSAccess database. So I assumed that whatever this
message meant, it wasn't a fatal error. I continued to make changes
to procedure to see if there was some further info I could get to
tell me what was going on. I finally learned something when there
was a new error: "Unable to connect to the ColdFusion Search
    service."
This time rather than reboot the server, which never seemed
to help anyway, I restarted each of the 5 ColdFusion services one
at a time from the bottom up; i.e., CF8 Search Server, CF8 ODBC
Server, ..., CF8 Application Server. I have gotten serveral clean
    creations since this.
So, does anyone out there know what these errors are all
about and how you can prevent them?
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Update to JRE causes license error

We have been advised to update our CF8 enterprise servers to
the newest version of JAVA. When we do this it generates this error
    message:
"Same Serial Number found on another ColdFusion server. The
server may be out of compliance".
How should we update the JRE in CF 8.

That is not an error, that is a warning. One that you can
    safely ignore
(from a technical perspective at least).
