Collapse all groups in a CFGrid by default

Is there a setting that would collapse all groups in a CFGrid by default? I have a lot of data in each group and it would make viewing the data much easier. Thanks!

textAreaObj.requestFocus() doesn't do it?
If that doesn't do it, then try textAreaObj.setSelectionStart(0).
You may have to force a repaint(), possibly, as well.

Javascript to Expand/Collapse all grouped list items(2010 method no longer working)

I have the below little piece of javascript that used to work in 2010(with plus.gif/minus.gif)

How to collapse all bookmarks by default when rendering mode is set to PDF?

I have a SSRS 2012 report that I open via URL in PDF rendering mode. The report contains document map that renders as bookmark when opened as PDF. Everything works as intended but when I open the bookmarks tab in Acrobat, all of the bookmarks
are expanded by default. I know I can "collapse top-level bookmarks" but none of the lower lever bookmarks collapse. What I am wondering is, is there a way to collapse all bookmarks by default, as opposed to what seems like everything
is expanded by default, when I open the report in PDF rendering mode?

Per my understanding that you have some problem about the document map rendering as the bookmark in PDF, you got all the bookmark expanded, right?
This is by default, and I have tested on my local environment that you can use the simple
Shortcuts to collapse all the bookmark of all the level at once when open the PDF: Shiift+"/"

Get all groups from an AD Server

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to get all groups from and AD server.
Here's how I'm doing it:

               groups.add(binding.getName().substring(3));
          return groups; The problem is, I always get an error if I don't restrict the results number to below 1000.
The error is the following *javax.naming.SizeLimitExceededException: [LDAP: error code 4 - Sizelimit Exceeded];*
After googling, I found it it's due to a field in the AD Server, that restrict the result number.
So there is no way that I can obtain all groups without changing that field?

Hi Nuno,
You have to increase the MaxPageSize value at ActiveDirectory level to retrieve results more than 1000. By default the MaxPageSize value is 1000. There is no option other than increasing the MaxPageSize value.

Expand all below & collapse all below action are not working for <af:treeTable/> UI component which are provide by <af:panelCollection/> component by default (we dont have control over them). But Action 'expand all below' on selected row is just expanding itself (selected one.)

Hi,
your panel accordion does not have a showDetail item as a child containing the panelCollection, The IDE should have flagged this as an error. Your problem doesn't reproduce for me

I am looking to add a button to reset the TOC (collapse all books)

Our end users are getting lost in the open books - yes, I realize it's a whole different problem, but I have been asked to add a button to "reset" the TOC books to collapse all the books.
We are using RH 10 and IE 8
I've looked all over for existing javascript that would do that, but I can't find it. Is that something that someone else has done already? I am not a scripting person.

So, I have tried a few different things in the action tab
the actual web address (it's an intranet site ...website_name/index.htm
And just index.htm here (where it says News_Feed.htm)
This is a parent/child project -- the newsfeed page is the only page in the parent (and it is the default page) -- the button in the top toolbar takes you to the newsfeed, but we wanted it to refresh the entire page.

Hi All,
i hv two buttons "Expand All" & "Collapse All". If i press "Expand All" i should expand all the nodes in the all the root nodes(JTree).
If i press "Collapse All" i sh collapse all the entries in the JTree.
Is there any way to acheive this.

Is it possible to add an Expand all/Collapse all button in WebHelp Output?

We now have > 15 child projects in our merged online help, each containing hundreds of topics. Each child project is a chapter in our WebHelp online help output.
If a user opens a couple of topics in each project, the TOC can become difficult to navigate. Is it possible to add a button that enables users to collapse all of the open chapters / expand all of the closed chapters? We are using RoboHelp 10.

Hi there
Expanding all could be problematic. But collapsing all should be a snap. That is, as long as you don't mind one teensy side effect. That side effect would be that the default topic would load up in the Topic pane and replace whatever topic was open at the time your user clicked the Collapse All.
The way to Collapse All is to simply create a hyperlink that re-opens the WebHelp start page. Things reload fresh (with the TOC all nice and collapsed).

Collapse all Folders in Finder

Is there a way to collapse /all/ folders in Finder instead of hunting them down and closing all of them one by one?

Do you mean you want to open multiple folders while in Icon View? If so, select the folders you want and hit ⌘+↓. All of them will open as long as they are all from the same Finder window. Afterwards, for you to close all Finder windows except one, you'd need to use one of the two AppleScripts I linked earlier.
Maybe you are asking for a method to double-click one folder and have it and all its subfolders open up in their own Finder windows (essentially, you want to open all nested folders with one click)? I think you'd need to build an AppleScript for that. The OS will not have such a function built in because the depth of some directory trees could easily freeze a computer.
i have a ton of documents and it is really inconvenient to have to open /all/ the folder to find things.
If you assigned non-generic names to your folders and documents, you should be able to use Spotlight and Smart Folders to get to your files. For example, since I name my project files with the format DateProject_DocumentVersion, it's easy for me to create a Smart Folder that shows me all finalized/approved parts lists from a project I did two years ago, regardless of where they're located in my archives. It's even easier if you also use Spotlight Comments and/or color labels.
then when i get them open it is a total pita going and collapsing all of them. i guess i can close out of the finder window altogether but i'd like to stay in the same window and keep working.
Did you try either one of the two AppleScripts I linked earlier? They allow you to close all Finder windows except the active one. Finder doesn't have a built-in, default option to close all windows except the active one.
btw, i'd also like to do the equivalent for windows on the desktop so i can get to the desktop quickly. right now I have to move them over or minimize them one by one...
i guess getting familiar with expose or witch may do this?
Exposé can temporarily displace (not hide) all windows to show just the Desktop. ⌥⌘H will hide all other applications except the active one (or if you wish to specify which particular application stays unhidden, ⌥⌘+click the app's icon on the Dock). To actually hide (not close) all visible windows, you'll need to run an AppleScript ➚.

Is there any way to remove collapse all and expand all links which HGrid shows by default, the reason is when the user clicks on collapse all it will collapse to root node but my requirement is it should collapse untill 2 node level.

Collapsable Panel Group: Button Toggle

I have a Collapsable Panel Group with the buttons 'open all' and 'close all'
Is there a way to make this into one button which toggles? So, if they're open, then close, and vice versa.

How to disable "Expand All" and "Collapse All" when no node in a tree

I have a <af:tree> inside <af:panelCollection>.
All items under viewMenu like "Expand", "Expand All Below", "Collapse All Below", "Expand All" , "Collapse All", "Scroll to First" and "Scroll to Last" are implemented by default.
When there is no node in a tree, "Expand", "Expand All Below", and "Collapse All Below" are grey out.
However, "Expand All" , "Collapse All", "Scroll to First" and "Scroll to Last" are still enabled to be clicked.
Is there any way we can diable them when no node?

When I highlight last node in the tree and all nodes are collapsed, I see "Expand All Below" enabled but "Collapse All Below" disabled. Which is expected. Expand All Below will expand all the child nodes under a node.
QA filed a bug said that "Expand All Below" should be disabled since no node below it. However, I don't find any place to control them. Can you confirm this? Or you know some way to do this?It it not a bug then. You don't have to control it and framework takes care of enabling and disabling it accordingly.

How to collapse all dividers in the list

I want to show a list with dividers, and want to collapse all the groups(dividers) after loading.
I have found one attribute collapsedDividers in the listView, but don't know which value should I set. I have tried to input the group name, but failed. Can anyone give me some advise? Thx!

This thread was answered during direct phone call, but for the benefit of others, collapsedDividers is the right attribute to set. It needs to be set to the "value" of the divider attribute. You would need to create an array in Java and then set the collapsedDividers to that, if you need to collapse multiple dividers.
Unfortunately there is no way to automatically collapse all dividers automatically.

and when I check the result of my list I find incomprehensible informations.
