Colon-delimited headings from function - with links?

hi folks
I'm generating a report from a collection where headings are not known until runtime, so they are generated by a function returning a colon-delimted string of column headings.
Is there a way to specific a different delimiter in this context, so that I can also add conditional hyperlinks to the headings? Or an alternative means of linking to a page passing the computed column heading in as a parameter to the target page?

What is stopping to use colon as a delimiter for adding hyperlinks?
Is it not possible to avoid using colons within your (html) column headers?
Another option would be using items as headings using &PX_COL1_HEADING. syntax for each column and populate the values into these items at before header point.

How to get the returned value from Functions with Callable statement?

I was glad to find that stored procedures can be invoke with Java class code by the object of Callable statement like :

and getting the output variables by

But i would like to get values returned from FUNCTION other than stored procedure, how can i achieve it? Thanks a lot!

Function returning colon delimited headings

Is it possible to use data within a classic report inside the PL/SQL headings? If so, how do you address the data as I have tried using '#FIELD_NAME#' without success.
for example: I have report data -

while it is possible to have data as headings of a classic report, i think your requirement more suits the use of unpivot operator.
i say this because, i see
Employee Name    MON   TUE   WED    THU   FRI
as the heading and then data of a few columns moved as rows
7-OCT 8-OCT 9-OCT 10-OCT 11-OCT

Any help from apple with linking text blocks in pages?

I finally caved and updated to Yosemite. Pages has been my go-to page layout forever. But now I cannot link text blocks??? Is there a work around?

About 100+ features never made it from Pages '09 v4.3 into Pages v5. Facing pages, builtin mail merge, and linked check boxes are just three of the casualties of progress. The work around for missing Text box linking is to use Pages '09, or a non-Apple word processing package that supports that feature.
The iWork '09 DVD applications (with mandatory Apple 9.3 updater) work well on Yosemite. If you purchased and downloaded individual iWork '09 applications from the OS X App Store prior to Oct. 2013, these can move to Yosemite on a USB stick, as they are a different application design to the DVD versions. I have both Pages v5.5.2 and Pages '09 v4.3 on Yosemite 10.10.2.

Select from function with named parameters doesn't work

I'm trying to execute the next sql statement:
SELECT mypack.getvalue(user_id => 231, status => 'closed') AS someAlias FROM DUAL;
I'm getting the next Error:
Error: ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis
But the next works fine:
SELECT mypack.getvalue(231,'closed') AS someAlias FROM DUAL;
What I'm doing wrong?
Is there a way to call a Function and return it's result as a single-row query?

Just want to explain what I want to accomplish:
I want to create PL/SQL statement which:
1) Calls Function in named notation way;
2) Returns a query which contains a single row - a Function result.
I know in Transact-SQL I can accomplish this the next way:
DECLARE @return_value INT
EXEC[myproc]
@id=2,
@status='ok',
@ret_param=@return_value OUTPUT
SELECT @return_value AS my_return_value
The last SELECT call returns a query with one row in it.
How can I do the same in Oracle?

How to generate PDF from file with linked images

Hi,
did anybody met/solved problem how to create PDF form file, which contains links to another files/images using PDFGenerator? For example from FrameMaker documents which contains linked images; or from CAD files which contains linked components...
The issue is, that the CreatePDF function moves the source file into a temporary folder, and this operations "brokes" the relative links to linked/included files.

Opening pdf from harddisk with link

Can i set a link to a pdf-file on my harddisk in my keynote presentation? or to another document?

No, you can't. Well, I should say not in an easy user friendly way. Keynote allows you to link via http: which then opens Safari so if you turn on web sharing, point the http: link to localhost and your sites directory and place a file there then Safari would pop up, download the file then Preview would pop up and....
whew! This IS easier in PowerPoint because it allows direct linking to documents, Keynote doesn't. You CAN have the pdf's already open before starting your presentation and then view them that way. A little more elegant than the above.
Another question, is this meant to be a kiosk type thing for people to play around with or are you using the PDF in the presentation?

HT2500 has apple blocked leopard from functioning with email if email has been upgraded to icloud?

i upgraded to icloud and suddenly i can no longer receive email on my mac mini or macbook pro. i have my husband and mother's mac account in my email as well and they have not upgraded to icloud and their mail works fine. i have a new computer with lion and my email works there but it is not my main computer so i don't want to run into the bedroom to get mail. besides, since it is lion, it does not work with my printer so i can't print any email.
my password is correct, setting are the same, absolutely nothing changed from one day to the next other than upgrade to icloud. has apple stuck us so we HAVE to get a new system to get our email?

i would think that, but i have 2 other mac email addresses that have not been upgraded to icloud that work perfectly fine on the same mail program on my 2 computers that do not have lion. the settings are exactly the same on all 3. hence the beginning of my query.

Different color sample from eyedropper with linked image

I have an RGB image Adobe RGB 1998 Embedded photoshop file linked into an RGB illustrator document. Illustrator color settings are set to Adobe RGB 1998. Eye dropper is set to point sample. When photoshop linked file is eye drop sampled, the RGB numbers that are read with the eye dropper are not producing the same color that the Photoshop file has in it's native app. When the same task is tried in Indesign, the numbers read perfectly. What is happening in illustrator? Same color settings in all three applications.

You need to determine how your apps deal with tagged and untagged images, especially what Default profile they apply-assume-assign when the profile is absent, stripped and/or ignored.
If a thumbnail in OSX Finder shows the problem, that is a big clue because Finder thumbnails are not color managed (Finder is assuming Monitor RGB).

That series contains tagged and untagged verisions of AppleRGB, AdobeRGB, sRGB, ProPhotoRGB.
First, look at the image icons in finder (they are all over the place).
Next, drag the download folder into Bridge and observe the thumbnail colors (Bridge assumes sRGB on untagged images)...

If your problem apps are displaying color the same as image icons in Finder, then either your app is not colormanaged or the file does not contain an embedded profile.

OSX Safari is a great app for testing JPEG files because it will either read an embedded profile or it will apply the default monitor profile (exactly where I am pointing you to) -- just drag your icon into an open Safari window...

Can we give UNIQUE ACCESS FOR THE SPECIFIC FILE IN THE LIBRARY in SP2013? How can we remove users from SHARED WITH link where files are shared with users?

Hi srabon,
For giving unique access for a specific file in a library, you can go to the library, and select the file , and click FILES->Shared With->ADVANCED, under PERMISSION ribbon, click ‘Stop Inheriting Permissions’, then the file will have unique permissions.
For removing the shared users for a file, firstly, like the above steps, select the file , and click FILES->Shared With->ADVANCED , make sure the file has unique access, then select the users that you want to remove, and click Remove User Persmissions
under PERMISSIONS ribbon.

Use of when function with linking sheets

So I went through the Manual and the Forum.
There is no German Forum so WENN means IF and WAHR means TRUE;
If I enter this function:
=WENN(G6=WAHR;"=Blatt 3 :: Tabelle 1 :: B6";"nix")
it respondes in case of RIGHT the string "Blatt 3 :: Tabelle 1 :: B6"
but should take the value (Date in this case)! If i use just
=Blatt 3 :: Tabelle 1 :: B6
whitout when function,
it responses fine the Date of the refered sheet respective matrix respective cell, in this case 05.01.2006 (whatever:)
Has anyone a clue what´s going on ??

PL/SQL function returning a colon delimited list of headings

Apex version 4.1.0.23. I am editing an existing classic report which has the column heading option set to 'PL/SQL function returning a colon delimited list of headings'. I have been looking for some time but I cannot find where this PL/SQL function is defined. Can any one point me to the right direction? I do not see anything in the documentation either.

Hi Usman,
I looked into this issue and found that there's some JavaScript code executed when opening the page with the PL/SQL headings option enabled, or when selecting that option after loading the page, and this JavaScript attempts to set a background color for the column heading fields. Since we only display attributes for up to 100 columns, this JavaScript fails once you have more than 100 columns.
I would certainly agree with Tony that 60 or 100 columns are a bit much. But there should be some indication why something is not working, even if it's only a message stating that there's only a certain number of columns supported. So I'll log a bug to improve this in APEX 5.0.

Dynamic Column Headings - Function returning colon delimited column list

I created a SQL report using the report wizard.
In the report options, I chose a heading type of:
Function returning colon delimited list of columns
I then wrote a function that returns a VARCHAR2 string.
I return a string like this...
Jan-04:Jan-11:Jan-18:Jan-25:Feb-01
In the text area labeled "Function returning colon delimited list",
I simply entered the name of the function, in this case,
the name is "WeekHeader".
When I execute the report, I get this error:
unable to determine query headings:
ORA-06550: line 1, column 45:
PLS-00221: 'WEEKHEADER' is not a procedure or is undefined
ORA-06550: line 1, column 45:
PL/SQL: Statement ignored
failed to parse SQL query:
How can I get the report to use my function?

all you need to do is put the word "return" in front of your function name, and you should be good to go. before you say it, i'll acknowledge that we should probably be more clear about the syntax for that field, so i'll log the enhancement request.

Workflow notification with link and Form open functionality issue

In GLBATCH workflow, Request Approval from Approver message we need a new link 'View Journal' avaliable. Once user click on it GLXJEENT form should be opened with GLXIQJRN function (with query only mode, that mean no New Jouranl or batch option)
We could able to do this. Created a attribute of form type and assigned below vlaues with defulat as constant
GLXIQJRN:AUTOQUERY_LEVEL=BATCH AUTOQUERY_COORDINATION=INITIAL AUTOQUERY_CRITERIA=&BATCH_ID
The problem here is, it is not auto populating the batch name in that query form
I tried lot of ways, but no use.
Can anyone please help me in this. We need auto population of batch name in the Batch Name field.

Try by defining the message attribute holding the link to the framework region. Then, once the notification has been created (sent) call WF_NOTIFICATIONS.SetAttrText to set the value of the region in that attribute value.
