Color Labels not appearing on server
Hi All,
We are having trouble seeing the color labels off a Win 2003 Server on our G4 FW800/Panther. All other Macs see them correctly ( G5s, both panther and tiger). AFP volumes on the server w/Appletalk. We also get random Indesign CS2 file loss on the same machine. Just show up as unix files. They all look fine on all other network machines>> Any ideas?

I have been having the exact same issue since 'upgrading' to SL. No solution that I have found. I hope it will be corrected in a point maintenance update.
I am also having frequent disconnects and subsequently can't remount the airport disc volume.

Trouble with color labels not synching between different machines sharing same data drive

I am having a problem that seems to have come up when I started using a mix of PS/Bridge CS4 and CS3, in which color labels I apply in Bridge--primarily to folders--do not retain the color label when I look at the same set of folders on the same external hard drive using multiple, different Macintosh machines, running a mix of CS3 and CS4. The color labels will appear on one machine and then not appear at all on another. Note: they don't appear as white labels without a color. It's as if they were never labeled at all!
I use multiple Macs to connect to one primary external data drive. I consistently configure Bridge to export caches to the external drive, and with CS3 any color labels I applied to folders were consistently displayed in the same way on multiple machines.
Every since I upgraded a couple of my Macs to CS4, I now notice that color labels applied on one machine aren't showing up when I attach my external drive to other machines. I've even noticed a problem connecting to the external drive from two different user profiles on the same Mac laptop (running CS4).
I have tried resetting the preferences and the cache on all of these machines. I also then re-toggled the export caches checkboxes on all these machines. Per some earlier troubleshooting, I have also made sure that the naming convention for the labels is the same on all the machines: "Approved" versus "Green," etc.
There just seems to be no rhyme or reason for why the color labels are not synching.

to a file and used purge cache. And they do so on my system.
Normally there will not be many reasons to use the purge cache option unless
you have trouble, every time you alter a file it should be auto update the
preview and thumb, is this not in your workflow?
Are you still working with same files that were also present on your other
system and using CS3?
Have you considered to start from scratch?
Quit Bridge, from the user library preference folder delete the plist file
for Bridge to the trash and in the same library from the caches folder /
Adobe/BridgeCS4 move the cache file outside the user library if you want to
backup this file (or to the trash if you don't want it anymore)
Both files will replace itself with fresh ones but the cache needs to start
all over again building previews.
Again hold option when starting Bridge first time and again choose refresh
preferences.
Set the preferences for Bridge to your wishes and try again.
However, if I go to "Tools-Cache-Purge Cache For Folder" and purge the cache
for the folder I'm working in, the color labels disappear. Is this expected
behavior? Shouldn't the color labels be recreated?? Again, I have repeatedly
purge the cache in this way, have reset Bridge CS4 settings, and have
re-selected the option to "Export Caches To Folders When Possible." What's
going on!?!?!? Thanks. -
Color Labels not showing across Network
I appreciate any help I can get with this...
We have a 4 macs on this network right now in our Art Dept.
2 are 1.6GHz PowerPC G5's 1GB RAM
2 are 800 Mhz Power PC G4's w/ 1GB RAM
All are running 10.4.5
We have a Buffalo Terastation as our Unix Server with Gigabit Networking.
It is very important for us to be able to see the folder/file color coding system. It is not working on one of our G4's. It will allow me to change the color, but will not be visible from other machines neither will it see the color if it is changed from another machine.
Has anyone else ever had this problem?
What can I do to fix this machine so it understands the color system?
Is there an alternative to the coloring system?
Is there a plugin or expansion for this to add even more colors?
This machine is worthless to us if this does not work...this is a very fast paced environment where we need real-time color labels to constantly know the status of our ads!

800 Mhz PowerPC G4 Mac OS X (10.4.5) 1 GB SDRAMI have been having the same problem and I just discovered a solution. At least it worked for me. One of our computers was connected to the server using cifs instead of afp. Once I reconnected using afp the color labels worked fine.
Select your server on the desktop of the computer you are having problems with and get info. Under General info, see if the Server address starts with afp or something else. Under the Go menu in the finder select Connect to Server... and make sure you put afp:// before the server address and connect.

Shared 2010 Calendar Color Categories not appearing in Outlook 2007
I have a SBS 2003 (exchange 2007) environment wih a mixed Outlook use between 2007 and 2010. One 2010 Outlook client has shared a calendar to several 2007 users and they swear that when they received the email invite to view this shared 2010 calendar, the
color categories list in their Outlook changed to match the shared calendar without any interaction from the users. A new hire was given the same invite to view this shared calendar, she accepted, the calendar is visible however, the color categories
are not appearing.
I've tried setting an appointment in the 2010 Outlook shared calendar with all the color categories in the list, then going to the client's 2007 Outlook and updating the color categories in her mailbox but nothing changes.
I've read about 20-30 blogs, tech form and MS tech answers on this subject and I get conflicting solutions. One states that you can't transfer the master color category list, you have to change it on each Outlook client while others state the use of an appointment
and upgrading the categories from the properties in the client's mailbox (which didn't work) or using a third party add-in to manage a "Master Color Category list" (which costs money). I would like a straight answer to my question, which is,
"why can't the Outlook 2007 client see the color categories in the 2010 shared calendar?" and "How to I fix this?".
This questions has been asked in so many different ways that I'm not sure if someone will help me without having to call MS support and pay for it. This has got to have a simple solution that I don't need to pay for it, yes?

im busy with other priorities.
still busy so ill be quick...and not gonna get too technical just gonna lay it all out in steps
1. create a mail account in exchange eg.
[email protected]
2. log into the account through outlook and share the calendars you set up.
3. go to the exchange management console on the 'server ' right click the created
[email protected] mailbox > manage full access permissions> and start adding the users who need access. (only thing that worked for me)
4. close and reopen outlook on the users computer and then you should see the colour co-ordinated catergories that you assigned for scheduling that they can all access and book appointments in a easy colour co-ordinated layout.
if it dosent show up try - *on the users computer* start >run>cmd>gpupdate/force
this will force the update on some computer that didnt show up with the effect. only had this problem with 1 user and this fixed it :)
hopefully this idea helps you! as it did me cause no geek out there never gave me this easy fix option, instead right properties and blah blah blah technical crap that dosent work, wankers!

Field label not appearing in OIM Report Page
Hi,
Though this sounds like a silly problem, but I am not able to figure out what could be the problem.
I have created a new report in OIM and it is working perfectly fine as per the stored procedure. The only problem is that one of the label name is not appearing correctly in the report page display. It consists of the following fields:
1. First Name
2. Last Name
3. User iD
4. Custom field of the target application resource -say- abc.
In the xlWebAdmin.properties file, I added a new property for the custom field -
report.CustomReport.label.CustomField=abc
The same value has been written in the XML metadata of the report.
However, in the report page in OIM the label appears as - ???en_US.report.CustomReport.label.CustomField???
Please advice.

Did you change the captions and the caption style after creation of the quiz slides? Try to create a new question slide, the text in the captions will be OK.
As for the Caption style: what and how did you change? Did you change the default Success/Failure/Hint caption styles with the Object Style Manager? Here it could be easier to change all styles of existing captions: change one on a question slide, a + sign will appear before the style (see screenshot, this one is for a simple Text Caption but idea is same for Quizzing captions). Use the third icon to apply this change to all captions of same style, and if you want to add more question slides, save this as default style with the second icon (yellow highlighted). -
My Spot Colors are not appearing in the Separations
Hello everyone!
I'm having a problem here. I've designed a piece with spot colors, but I can't figure out why they don't appear in the separations and don't export as separate plates. My exported files end up as all process colors.
In my searches on this problem, the most common solution is that the option in the Ink Manager to convert Spot Colors to Process is checked, but as I've shown in the below screen shot, it's not. It's grey out, which is even more confusing to me.
I'm stumped. Help?If they're the same number, they'd better be the same color, right?
Actually they are not the same at all.
2905UP is a CMYK mode color and its Color Type is process, 2905U is a Lab mode color and its Color Type is Spot.
2905UP is a CMYK simulation of the 2905U solid ink color and it may or may not match depending on the press conditions. Some solid ink colors can't be matched using process colors under any conditions because they are not in the CMYK color gamut.
On screen they can also look different because the solid color's Lab definition is unaffected by the document's CMYK profile, while the bridge version is because it is a CMYK color.
Here's the solid version on the left and the bridge version on the right with with US Web Uncoated and US Newsprint profiles. The Bridge version is a terrible match under either of those press conditions. -
Stacked Column Chart Data Labels Not Appearing
I am using SetSytle in Actionscript to make the data labels in a stacked column chart appear inside but it's not working.
A portion of the code I am using to create the chart is below:

After some more research, I put a breakpoint inside ColumnChart.as in the following function:

you will want to:
1) copy thisfile to your site's root or some other folder
(i.e. same
folder that the page displaying your chart is in)
2) edit the file and change isHideOverlapped attribute of
labelStyle
property for xAxis to "false"
3) point the STYLE attribute of your cfchart tag to this new
file.

Mavericks 10.9.1 update not appearing in Server's Software Update service?
While I have been able to update my server to 10.9.1, my client computers all rely upon my server for their software updates. And although i have repeatedly had the Software Update service fetch all new updates over the last day or so, the Mavericks 10.9.1 update still isn't showing up.
Does anyone else who is using the Software Update service actually have that update available to them, or is this a case of Apple simply not having made this update available to that service yet? And if so, does anyone have an idea of how much of a delay should I expect?Hi again
Try running the following command in the terminal on your clients:
defaults read /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL
The desired return value should be*:

*The base URL might be different depending on if you are using standard SU settings or if you have moved the files somewhere else.
If this is not your return value try running this on your clients again:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL http://server.mydomain.com:8088/content/catalogs/others/index-10.9-mountainlion- lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog
You can reset the settings by running this command:

I am trying to insert an ellipse into a document with a transparent fill and a solid stroke. When I go to Effects-Transparency, the entire ellipse is transparent (i.e., the stroke disappears as well). The box states that the stroke is normal 100% (no effects), but the stroke is not visible. How can I get the stroke to appear? I just want a simple circle. Thanks!
Then why use transparency at all? Just set the fill to none.
Otherwise you'd need to adjust the opacity by just selecting the fill, not the entire object.

I'm working on oracle 10g,odp.net with 2.0. i created two types which are input and output parameters for a function. I installed odp.net (ORACLE DATA PROVIDER FOR .NET 11.1.0.6.20) and generated UDT custom class code. It's working in my system. But when i installed odp.net (ORACLE DATA PROVIDER FOR .NET 11.1.0.6.20) in my remote server, its not showing the UDT Custom Class Code Generation Wizard to create UDT Custom Class Code. I have installed oracle Client 10g,.Net Framework 2.0 and ODP.Net(11.1.0.6.20) in the server.
In my Local system server explorer it's showing

AnilAs you noticed, not all database objects are available in Server Explorer, and because of this they can't have scripts generated for them, nor can they be compared with Schema Compare.
In a pinch, you should be able to use SQL Developer to do this. -
"Send to Color" Not appearing.
When I installed Final Cut Studio, I opted to not install Color to save space on my computer; I had no need for it at the time.
Since then, I have installed Color (I did not reinstall Final Cut Pro), but when I right click on a clip in my sequence, the option "Send to Color" does not appear. The option "Send to Motion" appears, and works. I installed Motion at the same time as Final Cut Pro.
Do I need to reinstall Final Cut Pro and Color at the same time to get this to work? Or is there another solution?"Send to Color" appears in the browser when you have a sequence selected, not a clip in the timeline.

I have a Mac Pro 12 core, with a Nvidia Quadro Pro 4000 video card. I have been using lightroom with this video card since 2011 without a problem. I updated to os 10.7.5, which apple says it is the latest f and now when i use lightroom (after about 15 minutes), my monitor goes black, which i am sure is a video card issue which involves lightroom settings, and i have to restart my system. After restart I get a kernel panic report. I unistalled lightroom, and had no crashes. I reinstalled it and i started to get computer crashes again. (not lightroom crashes but computer -) When i open lightroom, the color labels appear saturated and much darker than usual. I took a screenshot www.jlanceimaging.com/lrscreenshot.jpg.
Since updating to 10.7.5 i have had this issue with lightroom and the video card.
I also went into photoshop an unchecked the graphics processor but still got the crashes.
and last;y, i opened up lightroom 4 and had no problemsYou don't say what, if anything, you have done to test, resolve or rule out causes, so you can always assume hard restarts, freezes, and not safe shutdowns will make for more problems (corrupt files, file system, directory, etc).
Running Apple Hardware Test; Reset SMC; repairing your drives; ruling out cables, controllers, external devices, even drivers for printers and other devices.
If you are on a UPS, it should be 1000VA or larger (1300-1500VA). If there are other devices and you could be exceeding the load on circuit breaker, also worth looking into and sometimes requires adding a new circuit line.

Can not color label more than one file at a time
Hi,
I've had this problem since 10.6.6-ish, i can not color label more than one file at a time in the Finder.
Wether i select two, twenty or twohundred only one file gets color labeled.
It doesn't seem to matter if i assign a color label through the File menu or right click > label.
Figured a re-install might fix this but it hasn't (even a clean install without restoring any kind of backup).
Does anyone else have this issue and/or a fix for it?

Crystal Report Viewer is not appearing after hosting on server

I developed a web application in Visual Studio 2010, and my Database is SQL Server 2008 R2.
I created reports using Crystal Report 13 in Visual Studio and my Operating System is Windows 7 32-Bit.
All reports are running fine at my machine.
When I copied published folder into "wwwroot" folder and hosted, all reports are working Good.
Here i have my web application in "Default Web Sites" in IIS.
Then After I added a new website in IIS with a port No. and created a virtual folder and hosted my web application.
The application is running fine, But the problem is Reports are not appearing on Web Page.
I have created an toolbar to export the report. And when I am exporting the report to PDF, It is working well and reports are exported successfully.
I didn't understand why this is happening?
Is this a problem of port no. ?
or
Is this a problem of IIS?
or
Is this a problem of Browser?
or
Is this a problem with CrystalReportViewer?
or
something else?
In fact I have the folder for "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client\system_web\4_0_30319\crystalreportviewers13". for crystal reports.
