Query should retrieve only the first row, since it has extra � character in the column value.

Convert all letters and numbers to an arbitrary letter and then remove that letter. If there are any characters left, they are invalid according to your rules.

    Essentially, Linux created some files with colons (:) in the name on a NTFS partition where I have Windows installed. I have since uninstalled Linux, but now I can only view these files in Windows Explorer. I can't open them, I can't even rename them to
    correct the problem. It's as if they don't exist, because of the invalid search paths.
    If I try to rename them in Windows Explorer I get following message.
    The file name you specified is no valid or too long.
    Specify a different file name.
    Well isnt' that something?... isn't that nice? Windows is able to display these files, but it doesn't allow me to open them and it certainly doesn't like me to rename them. So why is it whining about it then, when I'm trying to help? It says "try a different
    file name". Yeah, right! Like I haven't tried that one already! It doesn't matter what file name I input it will never accept it.
    So what am I supposed to do now? Ditch Windows and go back to Linux? Surely, Microsoft doesn't like the sound of that. Sure, I could reinstall Linux or run a Linux live system to correct the problem. But what good is Windows then? I might as well switch to
    Linux altogether.

    I checked these values in charmap.exe and they are correct. Except for 2D not being a "dash", it's rather a hyphen ("hyphen minus" to be exact), but these two have pretty much the same appearance and they get interchanged a lot, I'm sure
    they are used to it by now. (Yes, the characters! They don't mind.)
    Then there's this registry key.

    Well, of course, I don't have Server for NFS. So this is a dead end. Well, actually, it was a dead end from the beginning...
    1. First of all, I'm not working with a network share on a NAS or SAN storage. The files are on the local disk drive where Windows is installed, so that's a DAS for you.
    2. I don't have SFU! Well obviously, I'm on Windows Vista! So that means SUA!
    3. SUA are service components only. No server components. Can you guess what that means? Yeah... no "Server for NFS" since it's a server component.
    4. Windows Vista is a client side operating system! Server for NFS is only offered for use with Windows Server systems.
    5. Back to square one!
    So there you have it. They all lived happy for the rest of their lives...
    I'm stuck here. Can someone tell me what to do? I mean beyond the obvious option to use Linux to fixa a Windows problem? The NTFS file system itself supports colons in file names. It's Windows that doesn't, and so by default it proclaims it invalid character.
    Surely, even a Windows client operating system like Windows Vista should be able to allow the user to at least rename files with invalid characters to something more sensible (from the system point of view) and valid, if not being able to open them as they
    are. Just add some crazy voodoo code to it and it will work. If you can make it possible on Windows Server with UNIX user-mode subsystem on NT kernel, then what's stopping you from giving the Windows client system the same benefit?
    So what now? Purchase a Windows Server 2012 R2 license, copy my invalid files to a NAS share with NFS on a UNIX or Linux system, and have a go at the Windows registry and Server for NFS? Yeah... you're right, it's probably a bit over the top...
    On a second thought... I might as well install Linux again. There are countless situations where Linux has helped me solve problems related to, and more often than not caused by Windows.

  • Set JArray values with invalid key value: "LastUpdatedTime" on new alert rule creation

    Hey all!
    I'm trying to create a new alert rule using version 0.9.11 of the Monitoring Library and am getting this error on alertsClient.rules.CreateOrUpdate:
    "Set JArray values with invalid key value: "LastUpdatedTime". Array position index expected."
    That's interesting because LastUpdatedTime is a DateTime object, and whether I set it or I don't, if I set a breakpoint, it does set itself correctly, but the API appears to be expecting a JSON hash?
    I've tested alertsClient and I'm able to get existing alerts (also metrics with metrics client), so I don't believe it's an access issue.
    Any ideas?

    Hi All,
    Can anyone please tell me how can I format my output with replacing a column value with a specific value which actually depends on the present value of the column
    I am executing the following SQL statement
    select state,count(id) from <table_name> where composite_dn= <composite_dn_name> group by state;
    My Present output is:
    State No.Of Instance
    1 3
    3 28
    I want to replace the value in the column state as follows
    State No.OfInstances
    Completed 3
    Faulted 28
    I want "1" to be reppaced by "Completed" and "3" to be replaced by "Faulted"
    Is is possible with SQL or PL/SQL , if it is then how can I achieve this required result. Please help!!

  • Tabular model column rename with special characters - ), *, /, +, %, [ etc

    I am working in tabular model 2012. I have requirement to rename the column names with special characters like ), *, /, +, %, [ etc. When I try to rename in my model, it gives me below error:
    I also tried renaming the columns after creating a new test model with no luck. I may have lived with this error however we have another tabular model which contains special charaters in the name. This makes me believe that there must be some setting that
    I am missing.
    I tried changing the column name in other model having some special characters and it takes it.

    Well Mr. Google helped me.. I got the solution:
    Databases of a specific modality and compatibility level can have object names that include reserved characters. Dimension
    attribute, hierarchy, level, measure and KPI object names can include reserved characters, for tabular databases (1103 or higher) that allow the use of extended characters.
    How to change the compatibility, just right click on the .bim file from SSDT and go to properties and change the compatibility to 1103.

  • Copying filenames with invalid characters in OSX

    I'd like to copy some folders for back up to an external hard disk from the internal hard disk on my G4. Problem is that some of the folders contain files were created in OS 9 and their filenames contain "/" symbols which apparently are not acceptable in OS X (10.3.9) which I am now running. After trying to drag the folders containing the files to the external hard disk I get an error message saying that they can't be copied because some of the filenames contain invalid characters. The problem files are scattered among files in many folders all over my G4's internal hard disk, and the task of finding and manually changing each one's filename is daunting. Is there a way to find and replace "/" with "." ? or some other more automated fix of the invalid characters? I'd prefer to keep the original files in their current folders on the G4. thanks

    I would like to know about how to indicate multiple parameter with different colour in same column and also comparing value with adjucent column.
    Eg.

    This is possible in VC. You have to insert 'Image' UI in the required table. Add images of alert through 'Image manager' (Tools tab). Select relevant images of alert in 'Image' UI. In display there is option for 'visibility condition' there you enter condition (like if greater than ,true,false).
    Like wise you can add multiple 'Image' UIs in that table & based on visibility conditions you will get these alert images in table.

  • Crystal Reports XI - How to pull same column value with different select...

    I have a report with many (around 30) sub reports and it is giving serious performance issue. I am currently finding out a strategy to improve the performance. I see that most of the sub reports are taking same parameters from main report except for one parameter which is different for each sub report and hard coded in them and pulling up the same column value from a oracle database with a different select criterion. I am trying to find out a way using either of command/crystal formula/SQL expression which can do the same job for me and give me performance improvement. I tried to take the parameters from the main report in one sub report and mapped them to parameters being transferred to the command and then drag and drop the field for which I need to display the value but due to some reason it is not returning values when I am trying multiple commands...I need some help in selecting a strategy for this issue resolution and some guidance....Any help would be highly appreciated....

    My version is 11.5.8.826. First of all I need to make it clear that I have 6 set of sub reports and each set has 5 sub reports. So if I can resolve the issue for one set, I resolve it for all. The sub reports are doing nothing but fetching a column value using a simple SQL SELECT query and appending to the right of a box in main report. The issue is that all these queries embedded into the sub reports are using same SQL except for one parameter in the "where" clause and they are fetching same column value from the database and fortunately all of them are returning same number of results. So at the end these results create a table when run. The only way I can stop using sub reports is by creating a table in the main report and use some object(formula/command/SQL expression or whatever) to fetch that column value using the same filter conditions. But please take a note that I need to use and append the same column value from a database table and use different filter conditions and append them to the right so that at the end they create a table...as long as I get the table in the output with a decent performance , anyone will be least bothered about what I used inside the report.....please ask me as many questions to get more lights on the issue....

    In tab2, there are multiple columns for the state, say STATE_A,STATE_B, STATE_C ETC and a row is present with the following details
    STATE_A = 1, STATE_B =1 ,STATE_C =0,STATE_D=1
    I need to select STATE when STATE_A ='1',
    if my STATE='B', this STATE has to be selected since STATE_B =' 1', similraly
    if my STATE='D', this STATE has to be selected since STATE_D =' 1',
    If my STATE='C', STATE_C should not get selected since it's '0'.
    Is it possible to do this in a single SELECT statement, where I have some other checks also or else how can I achieve it?

    this is my perform.i am just here multipling  menge and gpres value and stores into G_total variable and displing into output.
    this is my output in main window.
    ex:mat. 1           77.00(g_total value)
        mat  2             55.00(g_total value)
    now the requirement is to add the column and display the output as grand total ex: 77.00 +55.00 = 132.00

    I have report. User can add new rows through a form. Before the user leaves the application I would like to use JavaScript to check if a certain column has some null values. I built my JavaScript for the before logout and it's working properly, but I need to retrieve if that column has some null values, how can I do that ? This field isn't a mandatory one, but I would just like to alert the user.

    You can also use a TRIM function in Answers. Go to the column in question, click on the fx button and then on the Function button. Click on String and you will see TrimLeading, TrimTrailing and TrimBoth. Use TrimTrailing on your column and you should be good to go.
