Columns repeating in excel sheet

Hi guys,
I am trying to download context data into excel file using WD binary cache. I am using Office 2003 suite for this case. The text data is getting downloaded properly but all numeric data (though there actual data type is string) is getting repeated in adjacent column with "agg" getting concatenated in the column heading. can somebody help me out.
Thanks,

Hi
Are you sure that the contents of the cell in Excel are actually in the expoential format?  Look in the formula bar at the top - does this display the 12 digit number or does it display the expoential text?
Excel will display any number with more than 11 digits as and exponent when the cell format is General.  To force it to display the full number do the following:
1. Select the cell or range of cells this applies to
2. From the menubar select Format | Cells
3. Change the category from General to Number
4. Select the other fomratting options such as decimal places, seperators etc and click OK.
Please note that your columns will need to be wide enough to display the 12 digits otherwise Excel will just display a series of '#' characters.
As a general rule of thumb in Excel, what you see in a cell is the formatted version of the cell contents and not necessarily what the cell actually holds.
Hope this helps
Andy

  • Problem while exporting ALV column header to excel sheet.

    Hi,
    I am able to export an ALV grid details to an excel sheet. But the ALV column headers when exported to excel sheet are getting truncated.
    For eg: if my column header in ALV grid is displayed as 'Material' then the column header in excel sheet is 'Mater' only. Remaining portion is getting truncated.
    How can I view the entire column header text?
    Kindly assist.

  • Unknown column in the excel sheet created using Export to Excel

    Hi,
    I created an excelsheet for the table data using the below link
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/user-interface-technology/wd%20java/wdjava%20archive/exporting%20context%20data%20into%20excel%20using%20the%20web%20dynpro%

    but problem here is when i open the excel sheet it is having some unknown columns apart from the expected like amount/#agg next to the actual column amount and it is happening only for the cloumns which have some numbers.
    I dont know where these columns are coming from.
    Send me the solution and points will be rewarded for the helpful answers.
    I want to put some name to the excel file instead of using system created file name.for this requirement where do i need to change the code

    Hi,
    You can export to excel even not relating with any libraries
    Follow this way..
    Take one singleDimensional array, arrColNames[], and one Two dimensional array, arrValues[][].
    File f=new File("Sample.xls);
    FileOutputStream fos=new FileOutputStream(f);
    for(int i=0;i<arrColNames.length;i++)
    fos.write(arrLabels<i>.getBytes());
    fos.write("\t".getBytes());
    fos.write("\n".getBytes());
    for(int j=0;j<noOfRows;j++)
    String arr[]=arrValues[j];
    for(int a=0;a<arr.length;a++)
    if(arr[a]!=null)
         fos.write(arr[a].getBytes());
        fos.write("\t".getBytes());
    fos.write("\n".getBytes());
    fos.flush();
    fos.close();
    The exported excelFile will be stored in your server. If you want to open it using FileDownLoad UI Element,
    Create value attributes resource of type Resource, behaviour of type FileDownLoadBehaviour, reso of type String, fileName of type String , Then then append this code
    FileInputStream fis=new FileInputStream(f);
    FileChannel fc=fis.getChannel();
    byte data[]=new byte[(int)fc.size()];
    ByteBuffer bb=ByteBuffer.wrap(data);
    fc.read(bb);
    fis.close();
    IWDCachedWebResource objCachedWebresource=null;
    if(data!=null)
    objCachedWebresource=WDWebResource.getWebResource
    (data,WDWebResourceType.XLS);
    objCachedWebresource.setResourceName(f.getName());
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setFileName(f.getName());
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setResource(objCachedWebresource);
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setReso(objCachedWebresource.getAbsoluteURL());
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setBehaviour(WDFileDownloadBehaviour.ALLOW_SAVE);

    after fetching data from EXCEL sheet, each column data (in excel sheet) will be uploaded to individual record into your internal table along with row number and column number, loop through that internal table and collect all your excel data into record format.pls refer the below code.
    data:
         i_excel    type alsmex_tabline occurs 0 with header line,
         l_row      type i value 1.
    data:
         begin of x_data occurs 0,
                kunnr     like RF02L-KUNNR,
                klimk(17) type c,
                CTLPC     like knkk-CTLPC,

  • Issue with downloaing from ALV to Excel sheet

    Hi All,
    When we download the ALV Report to excel sheet, the first line/first column (A11) of excel sheet will have today's date.
    Since my customer uses the excel sheet for further processing into a non-SAP system, we need to provide the excel sheet with the cell A11 (First line's firls column) as blank.
    How can we deliver this requirement?
    Your help will be sincerely appreciated....
    Regards

    One option is there
    Give him 1 push button on toolbar other wise you can write below function module in
    start of selection code also.
    1 ) modify u r internal table according to requirement.
    2) after that call WS_DOWNLOAD function module.
    Check below code for u r reff.

    Hello all,
    I am transferring the ALV output from SAP to Excel sheet using the standard button i.e. To Local FIle.... but i am not getting the text of the last column in the excel sheet. the last column is being displayed empty where as its heading is being displayed....
    Regards.
    Sabah...

    Go through the code and Execute it on your system, I think this will do for you.
    In this code I used 3 radio buttons in my selection screen:
    If u selects the first radio button your out put shows into to the Excel sheet.
    If u selects the second radio button your out put shows the in the Editor screen.
    If u clicks the third radio button your output shows into the Excel as well as in the Editor.

  • Link labview data with excel sheets

    I would like to save the output of a cluster(containing strings and numeric data) in a specific format(each data in respective columns)
    in an excel sheet.
    how do I do it in labview??
    I tried mathscript, is there any other way? If there isnt can u suggest how can I use it to solve the above mentioned issue.
    similarly, can I recieve data in real time from excel sheets??
    pls suggest.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I think you should use the ActiveX to fullfill your requirements.
    You can refer to this example
    <LabVIEW Folder>\examples\comm\ExcelExamples.llb\Excel Macro Example.vi
    Use activeX to write and read data.

  • Problem with Changing Data while Import through Excel Sheet

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to SAP LUMIRA and I am facing an issue with it. Actually, I am importing the data for analysis from an Excel sheet into SAP LUMIRA. I am able to prepare the visualization in the first go. But If I am changing the number of columns in the excel sheet afterwards (that may occur in normal circumstances where data is dynamic) and then refreshing the LUMIRA dashboard, it fails. Please can you tell me about a possible mistake or is it really feasible when we change data afterwards and then refresh the dashboards once again.
    Looking forward to your answers.
    Regards,
    Aman

    What is the error message?
    Can you confirm you are using 1.15.1?

  • Formatting / Post Processing of Exported Excel Sheet

    Hi ,
    Issue:
    The Columns in the Excel Sheet are not fully visible when we export Report from CR viewer  to Excel Sheet. So we had planned for Post processing of the Excel Sheet using VBA or .NET etc to format the Excel Sheet, which would be on the server side, meaning the End user will never see the formatting process, but only the End Report. Is it possible to achieve this ??
    NOTE:
    1) VBA or .NET could not be run on the Linux Server but we could take advantage of the windows server in the presentation layer.
    Architecture:
    Presentation Layer
    Linux Server <--> Windows .Net Server <--
    > End User
    {Crystal RAS Server} <-->{GUI CR Viewer Application}<--
    >
    Our Proposed Solution:
    1) Create an GUI Application that has CR viewer in it .
    2) Create a Separate Excel Export button on the webpage.
    3) when the user wants to export the report , he clicks the button.
    4) The GUI/ application saves the Exported Excel Sheet from the Ras server to the windows server.
    5) Then the .Net or the Vba code is applied to process/Format the Excel Sheet.
    6) When complete the End user is prompted for saving the report to a local disk.
    My questions:
    1) Can this be achieved ?
    2) what would be the best way to handle this ?
    3) what should be the process flow ?
    4) what are the things to be considered while planning for such a design ?
    Regards,
    Ramkumar Govindasamy

    So you're looking at using RAS .NET SDK on the Application Layer to export a Crystal Report to Excel, save to temp file on the Application Layer machine, process that temp file, and stream that back out to the client web browser.
    Considerations:
    1. You need to create your own custom UI button to trigger the process, since the .NET Web Forms Crystal Reports viewer won't have the hooks to customize the Excel export.
    2. Running Excel VBA from your Web App may be problematic - you'd have to be particularly careful if the system is under load, since the Excel VBA - COM-Interop isn't necessarily designed for high throughput.  Under high load, you may get file locking or COM-Interop layer just refuse to process.  It's pretty common to try and catch exceptions and retry if you encounter this.
    You'd likely not find anyone here familiar with 2 above, but 1 is fairly common.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda
