Com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher slow in Portal
Hi experts,
com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher is consistently showing as one of the slowest-running in our NW2004s SP16 Portal (non-Federated). Even the report variable screen is slow to load especially on first-time access. E.g., 31.8 seconds first time, 5.9 seconds second access in same session.
But what is curious is that it sometimes the variable screen load time goes as low as 350ms if you keep trying within the same session.
We've done the obvious - patching the BI Web App components, tuning the portal & Java runtime, checking the JCOs, load-balancing, tweaked the BI backend... but without being able to impact the performance of this application substantially.
So I would value any suggestions for improvement! Any tables we can cache? Any SAP Notes to shed some light on this area? Any Portal settings to tweak?
Thanks, Marc
Hi Marc,
Slow point are to com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher and
JCO connection. Would you please check CPIC_MAX_CONV in SAP Note 314530?
-Regarding of BI java on Web performance, would you please check the
SAP Note 1022930?
SAP Note 1025307 is a summary notes for performance on Web.
Do you use antivirus software with a javascript scanner, but still would you please also check the SAP Note 983066 because sometime this also may responsible for slow performance.
SAP Note 948158: Performance problems/measuring BI Java Web runtime
One more thing would like to highlight:
In first acess it's slow because OLAP cache was not in use, but after the first execution it's loading the variable from the cache so it's comperatively fast then the previous acess.
Let me know, incase any confusion..
Thank you,
Tilak

Dear all,
I've created out BI system in our new Portal installation and tested the connection. Everything works fine. I added the certificate of the portal to STRUSTSSO2 in BI ABAP and assigned SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW to my Account.in BI. If I open the iView from the portal I get a BSP Exception with the message:
The used connection by the iView is to the ABAP-Stack of the BI-system not to the JAVA-Stack. Is that correct?
BSP Exception: Der Zugriff auf die URL /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher;jsessionid=IDBYatWIpt_pX4uc52ChoZqMWkm1RAFW2qsA_SAP ist untersagt.
What can be the problem/reason?
Thanks!Hi Gerrit
In both places you have to provide a authorization access to the end users then only it will work. because your are already said that in SAP_All & SAP_New working fine
Back end BI system access as per the word document as pasted the link
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=7&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CFIQFjAG&url=http%3A%2F%2Fbasisdsp.f…
For SAP portal you have to create iview's assign the same to end user
Assigning an Authentication Scheme to an iView - User Authentication and Single Sign-On - SAP Library
Portal Authentication Infrastructure - Configuring the Portal for Initial Use - SAP Library

Hi Friends,
I have installed a Standalone Portal ( EP, EP core, BI Java) , configured LDAP as data source and imported the Portal content from Source system . ( in Development, Quality, Production)
I completed all configuration and testing completed.
But the portal user created with customized iviews roles are working fine in Development and Production.
But ....Access denied:com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher error is encountered in Quality system.
In QAS system, while installation I have selected EP, EP core as Usage type.. and after Insatllation I have installed additional Usage tye BI JAVA using JSPM
Whereas in DEV, PRD ( EP, EP core, BI Java) were taken as Usage types while installation only..
Above reason may effect the Test user for access denied error.
Please suggest.
Thanks
VenkatRamana,
It looks like a permissions issue, right click on the system created for BI under System Admin-System Configuration-System landscape and open the permissions and ensure you have the everyone group added there and enduser checked.
Good Luck!

Hi!
I am about to integrate SAP BI into SAP EP 7.0.
All the necessary steps with the program "RSPOR_SETUP" I already executed.
Unfortunately when I try to execute a Query on Portal I get the following error:

Can some one help me to solve this error?
Thank you very much!

low_safety/com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration/components/launcher
Can anybody help what can be the issue...
Regards
SwapnilHi Swapnil
This could be permission issue. Check this link:
Re: BI 7.0 report displaying error
1.Give "Everyone" portal group read permission with end user checked for the "Portal Content" folder.
System Administration --> Permissions --> Right click on Portal Content Folder --> Open Permissions
2. Give "Everyone" portal group read permission with end user checked for the "low safety" folder.
System Administration --> Permissions --> com.sap.portal >low_safety> right click --> Open Permissions

Hi,All
I Use "SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & Support Desk Tool" to check the portal configurations. Some items show the RED status, one of them is "BI iView Permissions". The system gives solution as the following:
Add 'End User' permission for user group 'Everyone' to iView at 'com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bexanalyzer'
but in the portal, only 'com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bexwebanalyzer' can be found,
there's no "....bexanalyzer". where can I find the "....bexwebanalyzer" ivew.

SCN Business Intelligence http://scn.sap.com/community/business-intelligence/content
Please give us your feedback and let us know what other resources you would find useful on your Road to BI Success!Hi Ingo,
I've noticed that in your step by step manual, you are using BO XI 3.0. So I created a Virtual PC with Windows Server 2003, and installed BO XI 3.0, SAP GUI 7.0, Java Connector, BO Integration Kit for SAP.
Without any errors nor issues, now I see "SAP' in CMC's Authendication (not the login). So now I can assume it's because BO Integration Kit only supports BO XI 3.0 and consider it solved?
However, I still get the same error as my 1st post:
3. I was able to create a new connection in Designer to connect to SAP BW, and select one of the existing cubes. After uploading the Universe, I created a new Web Intelligence document and dragged couple of objects into Result Objects. After clicking Run Query, I get the following:
A database error occured. The database error text is: The MDX query SELECT { Measures.0BBP_BILITM } ON COLUMNS FROM $0BBP_C01 failed to execute with the error See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details. (WIS 10901)
or
A database error occured. The database error text is: The supplied XML is not valid. [0COMP_CODE].[LEVEL00]. (WIS 10901)
Any ideas?

See the details for the exception ID in the log file
Any idea what it could be?
Rgds
SirahuenHi Jose,
If the BW and EP are not compatible versions , you get this kind of error , where the conversion has some problems.
We had the same issue and upgraded our patch levels and it worked fine.

Xcelsius Portal Integration kit for Sharepoint not showing in the gallary
Hi Experts,
I am testing the Xcelsius in my organization. After creating a dashboard , I am trying to integrate it in my Sharepoint portal.
For that I installed SP webpart container in the server. During installation it was not showing any wizard to me for selecting the options. After installation , i am trying to configure it in the webpart galary but ! couln't find the Xcelsius Webpart container in that list.
What to do to show it ? Could anyone guide me ?
Regards,
Jyothii'm not sure how it works with Sharepoint... however, i can tell you how we use the portal integration kit within WebSphere Portal.
first, the PIK itself is only used for BO integration, not Xcelsius integration (unless you are doing SSO in which case the BO login module is required).
the Xcelsius integration comes from creating the web parts on the client. For example, for WebSphere there is a tool that is loaded onto the client machine called "XcelsiusPortletCreationUtility". the purpose of this utility is to take a swf file and wrap it in a war file that can be deployed to the portal. i would assume that Sharepoint works in a similar way with a client utility.
also, within the Xcelsius file you must create a portal data connection, even if it's not actually used.
please look through your Xcelsius documentation or try to find the specific document that explains Sharepoint integration. -
Disabled standard role com.sap.pct.pdk.JavaDeveloper
Hi - I've logged an OSS but if anyone can help me quicker it ould be most appreciated;
the role com.sap.pct.pdk.JavaDeveloper can be found in the portal
content location
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.pct.pdk/Roles/com.sap.pct.pdk.JavaDeveloper
when i double click on that role it shows only one Workset called
Examples and within it a workset called OBN Examples
I searched the SDN and found this post:
/community [original link is broken]
forumID=53&threadID=19464&messageID=162992
which sounded exactly right. sure enough the role was assigned to the
administrator.once i removed it, the role is now not working for any of
my logons - test users or Administrator.
in addition we do not have the object com.sap.pdk.JavaDeveloper in our
system.
help
andysorry, probably haven't explained it well enough.
it used to have lots of entry points, yes. but none of them were visible in the portal catalogue, except one "Examples"
the linked post describes exactly the same problems. when i followed the recommended steps "remove the role from the Administrator account" in that post, the role stopped working, apart from the "Examples" workset. Apparently we are not using NWDI and apparently this has some relevance, in that we can't create the system alias for the webDynpro as the post also recommends.
to recap - the standard role, since unassigning it from the administrator account, now does not function for any user. only the workset "Examples" is visible in the role. this was the case before. trying to view the other objects in the role is the reason I was working on it., since we have a requirement to add the Portal Logviewer in to the content developer role, without giving them the whole of the PDK/PRT maintenance applications. it now transpires that they were not displaying and were hidden becasue they are not Iviews, but are components accessed directly.
Does it need to be rebuilt? if so , how?
thanks ,

Com.sap.km.EntryPoints
Hi,
Did any one tried to open the com.sap.km.EntryPoints.ept file deployed in to the Portal when KM is INstalled.
Actually we need to design the Iview looks like similar of com.sap.km.EntryPoints iview.
When i searched for the same in the deployment folder i found the .ept file.
For generating such kind of Iview do we need to use any seperate tool other than Netweaver Developer Studio or is there any other way.
Please Suggest.

As far as I know, entry points point to KM resources. Not sure about pointing to a particular page or iView... It's possible to write custom providers with Java but I don't have any experience on the subject.
There is also a distinction between "real" entry points, which are actually used with an Entry points repository manager, and entry points layout set, which can be applied to an iView, folder, etc. The layout only changes how folders and resources are displayed. -
CRM 2007 _ Portal Integration

Does anybody have any steps for Configuring CRM 2007 and Portal Integration or any Url.
Thanks

WEBI reports integration with SAP portal
Hello BO experts-
Our client is looking to integrate WEBI reports with SAP portal. I found some documents which describe about have an url iview.
I just want to find out if it is possible to federate webi server with SAP portal.
Thanks,
Sharath.I don't think you can federate WebI server with SAP portal.
You can use WebI report IDs and integrate with Portal.

Com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap doesn't work
Hi all,
I needed to change the file 'WinGuiRenderLayer.properties'
I found the par under 3 locations:
d:\usr\sap\SPD\jc00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap
d:\usr\sap\SPD\jc00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
d:\usr\sap\SPD\jc00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\temp
I changed the file in those locations (I removed the bak extension and restarted the server).
Also, I made sure that the pars/directory contains the jar files.
After I restarted the server the application integrator iviews doesn't work (Web Dynpro, Transaction...).
Before I did the changes, I backed up the original pars/directory.
Copying the original pars didn't help.
How can I solve this?
