I don't understand what you are trying to do here.
CohQL> java com.tangosol.net.MulticastTest -group 237.0.0.1:9000
You appear to be trying to run a java command from the CohQL command line. CohQL is intended for queries against a cluster, and is not a replacement for a general purpose shell like bash. Therefore you get an error. After starting the CohQL command line tool type help to get a list of things you can legally do.

  • Order cannot be cast to com.tangosol.util.MapEvent

    This code is causing an exception. How should I be writing this filter? I want to listen for events when the status changes for one specific Order object. That Order has an integer key property which is the same integer key value used to store it in the cache. The code causing the exception is:
        public void addStatusChangeListener() {
                Filter f1 = new ValueChangeEventFilter("OrderStatus");
                Filter f2 = new EqualsFilter("Key", this.getKey());
                Filter f3 = new AndFilter(f1,f2);
                Filter statusChangeFilter = new MapEventFilter(MapEventFilter.E_UPDATED, f3);
                System.out.println("ADD STATUS CHANGE LISTENER "+this.symbol+" "+this.getKey());
                this.getCache().addMapListener(this , statusChangeFilter, false);

    Hi Carl,
    I guess the issue when the limit is exceeding.
    Probably you can try increasing the packet Size and run the test

  • Java.io.NotSerializableException: com.tangosol.util.internal.ConcurrentCoun

    Hi,
    I am working on a small prototyep project trying to understand how coherence works.
    I have a object that creates an instance of entry processor and invokes the cache. I get following error. Entry processor is serializable - the app can write an instance of EP into a file.
    Using same setup if I merely call put() it works fine for me.
    Any idea what coherence is doing here ?
    Thanks

  • Using Tangosol Coherence in conjunction with Kodo JDO for distributing caching

    JDO currently has a perception problem in terms of performance. Transparent
    persistence is perceived to have a significant performance overhead compared
    to hand-coded JDBC. That was certainly true a while ago, when the first JDO
    implementations were evaluated. They typically performed about half as well
    and with higher resource requirements. No doubt JDO vendors have closed that
    gap by caching PreparedStatements, queries, data, and by using other
    optimizations.
    Aside from the ease of programming through transparent persistence, I
    believe that using JDO in conjunction with distributed caching techniques in
    a J2EE managed environment has the opportunity to transparently give
    scalability, performance, and availability improvements that would otherwise
    be much more difficult to realize through other persistence techniques.
    In particular, it looks like Tangosol is doing a lot of good work in the
    area of distributed caching for J2EE. For example, executing parallelized
    searches in a cluster is a capability that is pretty unique and potentially
    very valuable to many applications. It would appear to me to be a lot of
    synergy between Kodo JDO and Tangosol Coherence. Using Coherence as an
    implementation of Kodo JDO's distributed cache would be a natural desire for
    enterprise applications that have J2EE clustering requirements for high
    scalability, performance, and availability.
    I'm wondering if Solarmetric has any ideas or plans for closer integration
    (e.g., pluggability) of Tangosol Coherence into Kodo JDO. This is just my
    personal opinion, but I think a partnership between your two organizations
    to do this integration would be mutually advantageous, and it would
    potentially be very attractive to your customers.

    Marc,
    Thanks for pointing that out. That is truly excellent!

    We do currently have a plug-in for backing our data cache with a
    Tangosol cache.

    persistence is perceived to have a significant performance overheadcompared

    implementations were evaluated. They typically performed about half aswell
    and with higher resource requirements. No doubt JDO vendors have closedthat
    gap by caching PreparedStatements, queries, data, and by using other
    optimizations.
    Aside from the ease of programming through transparent persistence, I
    believe that using JDO in conjunction with distributed cachingtechniques in
    a J2EE managed environment has the opportunity to transparently give
    scalability, performance, and availability improvements that wouldotherwise
    be much more difficult to realize through other persistence techniques.
    In particular, it looks like Tangosol is doing a lot of good work in the
    area of distributed caching for J2EE. For example, executingparallelized
    searches in a cluster is a capability that is pretty unique andpotentially
    very valuable to many applications. It would appear to me to be a lot of
    synergy between Kodo JDO and Tangosol Coherence. Using Coherence as an
    implementation of Kodo JDO's distributed cache would be a natural desirefor
    enterprise applications that have J2EE clustering requirements for high
    scalability, performance, and availability.
    I'm wondering if Solarmetric has any ideas or plans for closerintegration
    (e.g., pluggability) of Tangosol Coherence into Kodo JDO. This is justmy
    personal opinion, but I think a partnership between your twoorganizations
    to do this integration would be mutually advantageous, and it would
    potentially be very attractive to your customers.

    Regards,
    AvinashHi Avinash,
    I think you meant immediately... :)
    I am not sure if you can register a service listener in the configuration file, as the listener tag on the service registers a map listener.
    You can however define a partition-listener, which is invoked with a PARTITION_ASSIGNED when partitions are assigned to the senior node (starting with Coherence 3.6) upon starting up the distributed cache service on a storage-enabled node, and PARTITION_RECEIVE_BEGIN callbacks when non-senior nodes start getting their partitions so it is almost as good.
    On a storage-disabled node instantiation of a cache listener could be your clue, although that happens during configuring the service, so the service is not available at that point yet, but having a service listener for a distributed cache service on a node which is storage-disabled for the service is not typical anyway.
    You can also look at quorum policies starting with 3.6 which are invoked fairly early, too, but not necessarily on each node.
    Best regards,
    Robert

    Thanks,
    AndrewHi Andrew,
    that class is not a queue backed by Coherence caches. It is simply a double ended queue similar to java.util.Dequeue introduced in Java 6.

    Hi,
    A 2019 ms delay could be caused by a number of things. It could be network related or more likely as the message says the WebLogic node could have been doing a GC. As your WebLogic node is a Cluster member you need to make sure that its GC is properly tuned to avoid long GC pauses as this can destabelize the whole cluster. I see you are using 3.5.3/465p8 which is an older version of Coherence and lacks the newer node death detection algorithms. I know from the project I work on that also uses 3.5.3/465p8 that long GCs on cluster members can cause other nodes in the cluster to die if you get GC pauses that are too long or too frequent.
    I doubt that this message is related to the stuck thread issue in your original post, though it is hard to tell for certain.

    Lao Bo,
    yes, you can locate and copy a file from your HD to a USB key using UNIX commands. If you know the exact name of the file which you’re trying to locate, try this:
    find / -iname filename -print
    This command will search your entire internal disk for the particular filename. If you know that it’s within a particular user account, then you can save search time with this variation:
    find /Users/username -iname filename -print
    Either variation of this command will print all files found which have the given filename. Presuming that you’re able to identify the correct file, you can copy it to a USB key using the command
    cp -p filename_returned_by_find /Volumes/USB_volume
    If you’re not sure which volume name your USB key has, this command will show you what the possibilities are:
    ls /Volumes
    Please let me know if you have any trouble with these commands.

    Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your iPod. Only if you back up your device manually before syncing, you can restore it from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
    Do this:
    Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your iPod without syncing.
    Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
    When you connect your iPod for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
    Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPod for the first time.
    Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
