Combinding Resources in the FIM Portal Navigation Bar

We have two different OUs for computers in our AD that have the same attributes. Server and Workstation, there is no attribute that indicates if the computer is a server or a workstation. My solution was to create two different MAs, AD Server MA and Workstation
MA and corresponding Metaversa objects and FIM schema objects. All good so far, I sync the appropriate computer objects from each ou into their corresponding FIM schema objects. I have created FIM Portal Navigation Bar Resources for each
that show the Servers and Workstations correctly. My question is this, I would like a Nav Bar resource - Computers - that combine both of these resources, and then under Computers have Servers and Workstations - is this possible?

Hello,
thats quite easy to do.
Simple create a "Search Scope" that includes both Computer types.
Use this search scope as the Navigation Bar URL, the easiest way to get the URL (which contains the GUID of the Search Scope) is to add "Global" to the Search Scope Keyword, after that you can use the Search scope from the FrontPage of the Portal
for a search. In IE you should then see the URL for this Search scope an can use this in the NavBar Res.

This sets up a compination of Sets, Workflow and MPR to let the "Expiration Workflow" delete EREs as soon as they get orphaned.
This works fine since 3 years now, even if there are comming SQL-Jobs within a FIM update, but I implemented this before this was done.
I would suggest to clear the current orphaned EREs with PowerShell to avoid request flooding when implementing the above solution. Then implement that housecleening above.

Source MV is NULL (from the FIM Portal), How to flow this without the destination attribute being deleted?

Hi all. I had a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for.
Easy question.
I've setup the following flows:
FIM MA
(FIM)employeeEndDate -> (MV)employeeEndDate
AD MA
(MV)employeeEndDate ->(AD)accountExpire (I have a rule extension to convert it to a UTC etc)
If I enter an enddate on a person object in the FIM portal it will flow to the MV and then flow to AD (via the AD CS/MA).
But (as with all attributes, this is just an example) if I remove the enddate on the person object in the FIM portal it will in turn delete the attribute (AD)accountExpire in the CS of AD.
This is normal and expected... My question is. How do I flow a NULL and still have the CS attribute retain a value?
I'm not wanting to flow a NULL to the destination but I am taking a NULL in as a source (I am working with rule extensions, I have tried a 'ispresent' but as there's no longer a 'space' to flow to it does nothing, I'm stuck with between flow NULL or do nothing,
depending on if I allow NULLs to flow).
The reason is the AD attribute accountExpire is never NULL, but either a date or "0" or "9223372036854775807"(Taken from the MSDN page: )
I had thought of using a RE on the import rule of the FIM MA but you can't use RE there.
I hope I've made the question clear, thank you for any help or tips in advanced.

Try adding a second attribute for your rules extension when exporting from the MV that always has a value (Ctrl + click the other attribute). This will ensure that the rules extension is always fired, something like this:
(MV) accountName
(MV) employeeEndDate --> (AD) accountExpires
From there you should be able to use .IsPresent to check for a value, and flow out the correct value in your rules extension.

How to remove the tabs based navigation bar?

I am trying out my hand in portal and i have successfully deployed a sample portal(
Hot deploy didnt work by the way!). I have a few pages say home, account, messages
in the portal. Now, what I want is when I click a link on account page, the top
tab based navigation bar should disappear until I complete certain steps on the
account page( say, create an account which spans over 2 pages). Only after creation
of account should i see the tabs again.. is it possible?

The files you are looking for to change are located under the framework directory
in your application. The file hportal.inc or vportal.inc has a link to the hnav_bar
or vnav_bar file. So, you can check if certain criteria has happened and then
show the links or not show them. Whichever navbar url you included in the EBCC
tells you which file you should look in

How do I get the Adobe PDF navigation bar to automatically appear at the top of my screen again instead of when I move my mouse?

Before I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 and updated Firefox to the latest version, when I opened a PDF document online, the PDF navigation/menu bar would automatically appear at the top of the screen. Now it only appears at the bottom in a blue bar when I move my mouse around.

cor-el, thanks for the tip. While I certainly scoured Adobe's preference settings to look for something relating to that exact thing, I never went to their help site until I got your post. I found out that the floating toolbar appears because the PDF opens in'' Read Mode'', which you can turn off for all future documents by doing this:
* Quit your internet browser
* Launch Acrobat (or Reader)
* Choose Edit>Preferences
* Click on the Internet category on the left
* Deselect “Display in Read Mode by default”
* Click the OK button.
* Relaunch Acrobat
Something important to note, if you have both Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader, you need to do the above in both programs (same steps).

Is there a way to combine the menu and navigation bars in Firefox 4?

I prefer having my tabs underneath like in the old version, but that leaves me with a long empty waste of space next to the navigation button. Is there a way to slot the url bar in here and so have the same uncluttered look as with tabs on top? It doesn't bother me that the url bar will be smaller.

How to open a new window with no Portal Header and Portal Navigation bar

Hi,
I am working with the EPCM.doNavigate() method and passing the value "1" for the mode parameter in order to open it in a seperate window without the Portal header.
For some reason, the Portal header is still seen in the new window.
Do anyone know the reason?

Pages and icons (in the tabs and navigation bars) are too big due to 22 upgrade

Due to FF22 upgrade (from 21), all my icons (from webpages, addons and regular buttons) and tabs have got bigger and that's really ugly because of the low resolution of the images. Also considering I have a rather big number of tabs I can just see a smaller number of them and it's annoying.
The zoom of the page is now bigger (given that I has already zoom in in version 21, now the pages are too big and I have to zoom out a page that was correctly zoomed in 21)
Surprisingly the menu bar is intact !
Is that a new graphic convention ? Is there an update of something like GTK+ in this new version that could be responsible of this bug ? And mainly is there anyway to fix it ?
My screen resolution is 1920*1080. And for example with chromium or FF21 the menu have the perfect size.
PS: Sorry for my poor English.

All these confusing explanations on how to fix something that never should have been changed. It just pisses me off that I now have to get used to inferior graphics because someone thought it would be cool to screw with settings people have obviously been using for who knows how long. I have tried simply zooming down and that doesn't work. I am not going to enter a bunch of techie gobbledeegook and screw up my whole internet experience. I am just PISSED!!!!

30 minutes later: Okay, I went to about:config and a window came up .. pretty much telling me my computer would blow sky high and take me with it. I'm just an old lady who WAS passing my time browsing and playing a few games. Oops, I'm getting mad again. PS I NEVER talk like this, but this has ruined my whole fricken day.
15 minutes later: I decided to give up. I went to play some monopoly at my favorite game site and the pop up window with the game board was unplayable. The board was way down the window and not complete. So, I went back and despite all the warnings went back to Version 21. I have used Firefox for years and have sworn by it and defended it and given it my best reviews. up until now. I absolutely don't want to quit FF, but I don't know all the tech stuff, I guess is required to change formats back to what you are used to. I still can't believe FF would make a drastic change across the board without warning or giving a choice. If I didn't know how to downgrade, I wouldn't be able to use my PC to help me get through each day. Why why why?

Problem loading web sites, but only if they are not in the tabs or navigation bar

I have trouble since 2-3 weeks now when I want to open a new page. I can use my tabs (Gmail, Facebook, etc) or use the addresses that I have in my navigation history. But I'm not able to do much else.
If I type an address, it won't load. If I use the Google Ad-On to look for something, not loading. But if I am on Facebook and click on a link, it works. I can also use that link (per example Youtube) to look something else.
I hope it's clear :) Not easy to explain a computer problem, worst when it's not in your first language :P

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Custom resource/attribute not visible in FIM portal for non-admins

hi all
I have a problem I am not able to solve and hope somebody can help. We have created an custom Resource in the FIM portal called Customer. It is an User Resource Type and attribute type customer, data type=reference.
We have made this attribute visible in the Users Properties by editing the RCDC for Configuration for User Creation, Configuration for User Editing and Configuration for User Viewing. It is now visible for alle users in the FIM Portal.
But when an non-admin searches for an attribute in that Field, nothing shows up.... only member of the administrator set, are able to display the results.
I have added the Resource to Filter permission - Administrator Filter permission + non-administrator filter permission.
I have added the Resource to MPR - General: Users can read non-administrative configuration resources?
Can anyone help?

Hi,
To be clear,
You have create one new resource type 'Customer' and one attribute 'Customer' (Reference, binded to Person object)
Update RCDC for Person (create/edit/view) to add a picker attribute with those parameters
UsageKeywords: This is an optional string property. You can define a list of search scopes to be used in the Resource Picker by providing a list of the usage keywords that are supported by the SearchScopeConfiguration structure, where each keyword is separated by a (‘).
ResultObjectType: This is an optional string property. The resource type is used to render resources in the pop-up dialog-box list. This is used with the Filter to help the Identity Picker identify what resource type is returned by the Filter, and render the data accordingly. This property is mutually exclusive with the UsageKeywords property (see above). When the search scope is applied, this has no effect. The string that is accepted for this property is any single, valid, resource-type name, for example, Person. When the filter is expected to return multiple resource types, Resource is used.
Modify MPR "User management: Users can read attributes of their own" and "User management: Users can read selected attributes of other users" to add this new attribute
Create a new MPR to give the right of all users to view new resource 'Customer' on all attributes
Is that right?

Error when loading FIM portal in new installation: The requestor's identity was not found.

I have just installed the FIM portal into my test environment. The synchronisation service was already working perfectly (can provision users from a .csv file).
The FIM Service and Portal are installed on a server (we'll call it SPF1), and the FIM sync service on another server (SYNC1)
Whenever I try to log on to the fim portal with my standard user account (it has never worked), I get the following error:
Unable to process your request.

Further, I note that it has trouble connecting to the web exchange connector. I wonder if this is because I used an alias (for easy migration in the future) for which the certificate does not match the name for? I'm connecting to "mail.testdomain.internal",

I'm not really sure where to start investigating at this point. The only other thing to note is that after installing the portal, I didn't see a new management agent in the synchronization service (I thought one was supposed to appear, though I could
be mistaken).

I eventually figured this out - it was that the portal management agent hadn't been created yet, I had to create it.

How to hide the on screen bottom navigation bar - ...

I'm new to Windows Phones , and I was looking at the Lumia 630 Dual sim version but discovered that it has an on screen navigation bar , instead of physical capacitive buttons. I can't seem to find out a way to hide the on screen navigation bar , does any one know if this is some how possible ?

Add Image in the navigation bar of Help page

Hi,
I wanted to add image next to to the Search in the Help page navigation bar as in snapshot below:
I wanted to add an image i.e the the logo next to above button in navigation bar. I tried adding , howevr could only add as Header, not right in the navigation pane. Correct me if I m wrong, the navigation control can be configured while generation web output. I coudnt find any other option to do this.

Sorry Colum, I think you are wrong. That looks exactly like a WebHelp Search dialog.
Pallavi, I am thinking the answer for you may be a simple one. Use the WebHelp skin editor. There you should see an option to choose the image used for the Go button.
I'm not exactly sure what version you are using. But I'll insert a screen capture of RoboHelp 7 below.
My thought here is that you could create an image that includes your company logo along with the Go button. Then use that image for the Go button. Sure, both the company logo as well as the Go button would be clickable, but it should do the job, no?

Tapping on links bring up the navigation bar

I am working on a digital book using Folio producer and everything is hunky dory! Except when there are buttons or links I want people to be able to tap it also bring sup the reader's navigation bar.
I want to have the navigation bar in there but maybe only have it pop up when the user taps somewhere specific (along the bottom) or unless the user taps on a button. Is this at all possible?

This has been the biggest single complaint against DPS since the early Betas (I first raised it 18 months ago). I have watched a countless number of users tapping buttons only to be thwarted by an unwanted menu.

Fixing resp. pinning the navigation bar to the top of the browser

Please help... I would like to fix the navigation bar on the top of the browser, so when you scroll down the page this navigation bar is staying always on the top of the browser. In this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/4782547#4782547 heathrowe offered this solution:

hi there,
I found the solution for scrolling behaviour, but now I have (very simple) problem that I don't know how to access the main timeline from within the symbol.
In order to connect scrolling behaviour to some spots on the one pager you have to define simple shape, name it (in this case "three") and put the click behaviour, here the code for that:

Now my buttons are in the naviBar, say in a symbol, and I don't know how to access the shape on the main timeline from within the naviBar Symbol.

You will see, if you click the shape with scroll down on it, it works, but if you click the star in the naviBar, it doesn't.
