Combining Photographs in a grid

How can I create one very large photograph by combining multiple, equally sized photographs in columns and rows with no spacing between the photos? Each photo has a black background. I tried the contact sheet function and it always puts white spacing between the photos even if I uncheck the autospacing option and set the spacing option to 0 pixels. Obviously I want to do this automatically as I have multiple collections, for example I might have 72 high resolution photographs of individual butterflies I want to turn into one large (40 by 50 inch) print. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

hi pandaa,
you can combine queries in analyzer, make two different tabs in addition to a default tab which is there when you open excel, two additional are inserted because one tab will be for 2nd query and 3rd will be for result.
in query2, add design item by going in insert analysis grid, now in properties change the data provider name  and click on create button, slelct the 2nd query
in the result tab, create a table merger the data from both queries and save the workbook
hope this will resolve your doubt

  • How do I get the X-Y GRID INSPECTION.VI to wait until data collection is complete before it starts moving?

I am using a PCI-7344 card with LabView to control a 3-axis servo motor motion system in conjunction with a data acquisition system. The intent is to collect data at each grid point of an X-Y grid.
Using the X-Y Grid Inspection (Template).vi as a starting point, I programmed my data acquisition vi to start when the Check Blend Complete Status.vi returned a value of TRUE. I expected the while loop to complete once the data acquisition was complete, but the system starts moving at the same time the data acquisition starts.
Is there a way to force the motion system to wait for the data acquisition to complete prior to moving to the next waypoint?

If you enter a positive value into the blend factor control (period in ms), the board will wait this amount of time until it starts the next move.
The Check for Blend Complete.flx function returns TRUE when this wait period is finished. Thus you will see the bahvior you have described.
There are three options I can think of:
    1. Check the move complete status in order to start your measurement after the move has come to a stop.
This method might be not the ideal solution as you need to be sure that your measurement doesn't take longer than the wait period you have entered as blend factor. Of course you can make this period very long but then your overall test time will increase.
    2. To avoid the disadvantage of 1. don't use blending at all. Instead start a
move to the desired position, wait for move complete, do your measurement and start the next move. This method makes sure that you don't waste time.
    3. This might be the smartest and fastest method but there are a few additional requirements:
    - The time for your measurement is fixed
    - You can use an external trigger or scanclock to start your measurement.
If these requirements are met you could combine the x-y grid example with a breakpoint example.
You could program your board to generate a breakpoint (trigger) at each target position. The Breakpoint output of your 7344 is connected to the trigger or scanclock or whatever input of your measurement device. Now each time your axes reach the next target position the 7344 fires a trigger and your measurement device acquires data.

  • Printing with a grid

Is it possible to print a photograph with a grid overlaid on it?

There is no specific method on the API to draw the grid, but you can build it dynamically and use for example the addLinearFeature method to add the grid to your map.

  • Full legend in image slideshow full width

    Hi Everyone,
I can't get a legend full width with a background color in the image full width ( Slideshow )   , could you help me please ?
    Thanks

    @iamDK,
Thanks for the response. I am familiar with Pinning and Slideshow Widgets and have been using Muse since it's inception, what I don't understand after watching one of the videos in which Terry White mentions FullScreen or Browser Width using the Slideshow widget and as Jason Bibby at the top also mentions, I have not had any success using any of the SS Widgets again to acheive this effect. Pinning the SS Widget to the top of the Browser does just that and does not stretch images within it to fill the Browser Width even if you get inside the widget to expand an image so that it snaps to the edge of the Browser still does not do it regardless of weather its pinned or not.
I've had to jump into DW to get this done - in combination to using Fluid Grid, which I had rather not but so far so good, at least its responsive and not having to create twice in the case of Muse. I love Muse for its simplicity, being able to whip up pretty much any design in no time is sweet, but having a SS that stretches Browser width is a common trend and I'd like to see it integrated into Muse and if it can be done now as the video shows then how?
If you know how to do this in Muse could you please show us how?
    Kind regards,

  • Adjustment layers not working in CMYK MODE?

    Hi Guys
I have a photoshop issue and was wondering if you could shed any light on the matter?
When ever i set my document to CMYK mode, some of my adjustment layers become 'un-selectable'  such as the Black & White, vibrance and the exposure adjustment layers?
They work fine in RGB mode but was curious if this was common place?
    Any information woould be greatful

but surely the black and white one does? or am i wrong there?
    It would seem you are.
You can still use Hue/Saturation as a work-around.
how do i go about finding that particular thread?
That’s no thread but a headline in the Help; personally I prefer to download the pdf:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshop/cs/using/index.html
I am working in cmyk as the poster i am producing is for print, so the document is put into that mode for that purpose.
If you are using/combining photographic images this approach may not be ideal and incurs the risk of overshooting the TAC.
On the other hand if you have lots of text, fine lines or other elements that are supposed to, for example, print in pure black working in CMYK would be called for.

  • Is there a way to add new photos into an existing collection even though they are located in a different folder in Lightroom?

I am trying to add my favorite photos  that are currently located in multiple folders in Lightroom into a single Collection and am not able to do so. I also do not understand the concept of a Collection Set, which might be the solution here. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

A Collection is the way to provide a quick link to any group of images you select. (Maybe ones you want to sent to a printer, or email, etc)
A Collection does not make a second copy of your images. Collections appear like folders, but the thumbnails in a collection are only "links" to your original images.
Any Development edits you do to images from a Collection set will show the edits in the Library grid view.
Collections are great for any projects like a Book, or Slideshow, etc.
To place image links in a Collection:
    Method 1)   "easy"
First- (if you have created a collection set by the + on the Collection PANEL HEADER)- Right-click the collection NAME in the Collection Panel and choose "Set as Target Collection".
This will place a small + sign to the right of the Collection NAME. (you only need to do this once to 'Set as Target')
Next- (In the library grid view, this can be "All" photographs.!!))- Select one or multiple images, Press the "B" key.
This will (Bounce, Bump, Bag, Bop) selected images into your "Target Collection"
So if you select ALL your favourites with ALL photographs visible in grid- you can do it with ONE press of the "B" key.
    Method 2) "almost as easy"
Select one or multiple images in the Library Grid view.
Position your mouse cursor in the middle of one of the selected images, hold a left-click and drag your images 'onto' the collection NAME.
(Note: this does not work if you drag from the border frame of an image.)

  • LR5.4: Why does automatic lens correction profile no longer work for SONY NEX-5N?

Starting in LR5.4, if I attempt to apply automatic lens profile corrections, LR applies a profile for a Hasselblad LF 18-55 camera lens instead.
Formerly, in LR 5.3, the 'make' in the lens profile pane automatially matched the EXIF 'make' of the NEX-5N; namely, "Sony", and the correct lens profile was applied automatically.
In LR5.4, I must now manually select make = "Sony E" to appy a "setup=custom" profile before LR applies the correct lens profile.  The minute I set 'make=Sony E', LR applies a profile that matches the lens in use: either the "Sony E 18-55mm F3.5-F5.6 OSS", the "Sony E 16mm F2.8 OSS" lens or the "Sony E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS" lens that I use.
Another issue: I am not certain of this, but I swear the LR5.4 lens profile correction now *increases* pin-cushion image distortion, whereas it worked beautifully in LR5.3.  (I should take a photograph of a grid to see if my impression is correct.)  Are the lens profile corrections applied to a camera with EXIF make="Sony E" different from those applied to an EXIF make="Sony" (i.e., the NEX-5N)?  If so, this is a shame, for it means LR no longer fully supports the NEX-5N.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?
(I believe LR5.4 may have picked up on recent product line changes announced by SONY, wherein NEX will be marketed as Sony Alpha E cameras, and I imagine they will be changing the EXIF 'make' of new cameras to reflect this.  However, that won't be changing the EXIF make of my NEX-5N.)

Why is that so and how can I get the proper lens profile automatically if the lens does have its own Adobe profile loaded?
    Frustrated ...
Pick the correct lens manually then choose 'Save New Lens Profile Defaults' from Setup drop down menu. Lr should remember the lens and use it as the default in future. See screenshot below

  • Stacks and Web pages

Hi, I have a project with a lot of stacks. I want to export a selection of it to a Web page. I set up a smart album to populate the Web page. That works fine... in Aperture's Browser. In the actual Web pages (and the viewer), only one image per stack is used. I tried to select the images by rating or by color, same result. Stack picks only is unchecked.
Even if I don't use a smart selection, but add the images directly to the Web page, only one per stack is used. Stacks are all open.
This feels like a bug to me, but does anyone know of a workaround?
    thanks!

Hi Grant. Stacks are, by design, collections within a Project which have one specified image as the "Pick" for each collection of images (Project or Albums) that includes the Stack. (Think of literally arranging photographs in a grid for review, and sliding pictures that are so similar that only one is of interest into a stack with the "pick" photo on top, the similar ones underneath, and the stack occupying one spot in the grid.) This general idea of "one important image per Stack per location" is how Stacks are implemented in Aperture -- as you've discovered.
This is from the Help file:
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/index.html#chapter=8%26sec tion=3%26tasks=true
    When you drag a stack into a webpage album, web journal album, book album, or slideshow album, the entire stack appears in the Browser, but *only the stack picks can be used for publication in webpages, web journals, books, and slideshows*. {Emphasis mine.}
One is temped to use Stacks as a general subordinate organizing level within a Project (or Album). In my experience, this never works out. Stacks are a specific organizing tool for sets of images which have one "Pick". Whenever I have two or more photos I want to work with within a Stack, I split the Stack so that each important photo becomes either a Stack Pick or stands alone. This violates my organizing method, but works well in practice.
(I see the same (mis)behavior when dragging an image from one Stack to another even when the Stacks are expanded (Aperture merges the two Stacks). This happens whether the Stacks were created by splitting a Stack, or by independently creating separate Stacks. I suspect this is a bit of unknotted fringe on the edge of the code, otherwise known as a bug.)
I use Stacks regularly and find them invaluable. Just remember that each Stack can have only one "image to use" per container, and that that image must be designated the Stack Pick for that container. Since you cannot have more than one usable (roughly speaking) image per Stack per container, you must extract from the Stack images you want to use until all of these images are either Stack Picks or stand alone.
    HTH.

  • LR 4 versus PS CS6 Metadata Question

I am new but am starting to use LR 4 and PS CS6 for about 25,000 images of golf course holes.    I have added keywords, GPS coordinates, copyright data, etc to these images as well as collections for picks, star ratings, color ratings, etc.
In the workflow I have started using, I first take a selected image from LR and go to PS to use the lasso tool and content aware fill, healing tool or clone stamp to remove unwanted "distractions" in the images such as golf carts, extraneous people, cart paths, etc.  I save these changes to the ORIGINAL image file.  (I do this before I do anything else to the image in the develop module of LR or in PS.  I need to know that I can "clean up" the image before I do other processing)
When I return to LR from PS after using these tools, I get a message that states "The metadata of this photo has been changes by both Lightroom and another application.  Should Lightroom import settings from disk or overwrite disk ssettings from the catalog?"
Which option should I select?  I have no idea what changes I have made to the metadata by eliminating a golf cart in an image using PS.
    Thanks,
    Mel

Saving metadata to file is not really a safeguard against catalog mishap since not all data is saved to file. For instance Virtual Copies, Collections, and Stacking are saved to the catalog only and are not saved to file.
The reason is (probably) that saving metadata to file makes it possible to display the Lr edits in Adobe Bridge - Bridge reads the metadata from file. But since Bridge doesn't have the features for VCs, Stacking, Collections these are not saved to file in Lr.
The best "insurance" against catalog mishap is to create backups regularly. I have set Lr to create backups on every exit (in >Edit >Catalog Settings >General tab) - I can always skip if I think it's not necessary. The advantage of having Lr do the catalog backup is that optimization of catalog and of the previews is part of the backup procedure.
Also, it ensures that Lr can read the backup.
To save metadata to file for all images, select <All Photographs> in the Grid View / Catalog Panel (above the Folders panel). Make sure that all of your external drives that contain photos are plugged in. Then go Ctrl / Cmd + A to select all photos. Then do Ctrl / Cmd + S to save metadata to file. Expect that it may take quite a while for all 250000 images. Alternatively you can do >Metadata >Save metadata to file
You can check the box <Automatically write changes to XMP> in Catalog Settings / Metadata tab. But this causes an old Lr bug to constantly send you the "metadata conflict" warning, and it may drive you nuts.
I therefore save to file manually. Whenever I have edited a bunch of images, I select them all in Grid  View and do a Ctrl / Cmd + S.

  • Finding pictures with no keywords?

Is there a way to find all pictures which have NO keywords associated with them?

Shift click all the keywords in the Keyword Tags left Panel of Library. Select All in the grid. Switch to All Photographs veiw in Grid without deselecting and go to Menu/Edit/Invert Selection. You have now selected all images without keywords.

Hi i hope you can help me i need to catch the control-k combination key in a  grid , so i can delete a row like business one but i can't. i try using the pval.modifiers but the only combination i catch is control-o
I try qith an api but i doesn't work
    Thank
    Rodolfo Ruiz Camacho

    Hi,
I'm delete row when user select it and press "Delete" button ( I don't understand why SAP Manage choosed for it Ctrl-K). It's no problem to catch pressing on "Delete" button. For deleting row you can use DeleteRow method of the Matrix object.
And also - SBO don't catch pressing buttons events while there's no focused object on the form (selecting row don't put focus on the matrix).
    Best regards.

  • 11gR2 Infrastructure Upgrade Question(s) from 10gR2

    Hello.
We are currently using both Linux (RHEL5) and Solaris (5.10) for all of our Oracle 10.2.0.5.0 RAC DBs. Weare NOT using ASM currently. So, we are going to upgrade our DBs to the latest version of 11gR2 - and this obviously will include our CRS. I know the ASM and CRS under 10g are now combined under the 11gR2 Grid Infracstructure. I have been revieiwing the Oracle Grid Infrastructre Installation Guides for both OSs. While these guides are centered on new installations, I do notice that each has a small appendix tied to upgrading activities (Appendix E in Solaris and Appendix F in Linux).
I also have a few papers I pulled from blogs related to these activities (e. g., a blog from David Marco and another from Martin Bach) where they are updating their clusterware from 10gR2 to 11gR2. So here are a a few questions I'd like to answer - one may be obvious from what I have already read.
1.) This may be the obvious or redundant question - almost the entire writeups in the earlier referenced appendices seem to center around an 11.x CRS to 11gR2. So are these appendices still the correct reference when going from 10gR2 to 11gR2? Just double checking myself/
2.) Sadly, we are not going to be utilizing ASM anytime soon (tied to $$ issues realted to fiber connections). We might later, however, go to ASM. Is there anything I should do in relation to this upgrade tied to ASM that might make it easier to say move over to ASM in the next year - or should I just ignore any references to ASM during this initial upgrade?
3.) Does anyone have any other additional document references/URLs that you might feel would be helpful in the overall 11gR2 upgrade process (both Infrastructure and/or DB)?
Thank you in advance for any help.

  • Does Aperture 3 include a merge HDR editing tool?

Does Apeeture 3 include a "merge HDR editig" tool?

No, it does not.  Aperture's adjustments are to make individual photographs as good as possible.  Combining photographs in any way (compositing) must be done with an external editor.  Many use Aperture to group, stack, prepare, and export shots for HDR (and focus stacking, etc.), and then import the resulting file into Aperture and place it with the Stack.  In this way you save your source material as well as your result, and you can use Aperture to administer (and prepare for publication) your HDR picture.
