Combining two signals for dither simulation

I am trying to combine two different simulated signals into one. When I use the
Merge Signals function, I do not appear to be getting the results I am
desiring. On the Waveform Graph it is appearing as two separate signals. How do
I combine signals to merge into one? What am I misunderstanding about the Merge Signals function?
Note: I am trying to simulate an output signal that has a dither frequency riding on top of it.

 In a different part of my site (built with ADDT) I have this script that creates a variable by combining two session variables, and then the new variable is submitted into a mysqul database table using a hidden form field:

 What I am trying to do now on another page is combine a session variable "kt_login_user" with a piece of dynamic text "AA" so that I can compare it to the field "exerreference" that was inserted into the database using the above script. If the two variables match, the idea is to have a redirect to another page.
 
 So in a hypothetical example, if the value of the session variable "kt_login_user " is "bestperson," and static text is "AA" then I need to create the variable bestpersonAA (because this is how the variables exist in the exerreference recordset). This variable bestpersonAA then needs to be compared to the recordset value exerreference and if they match, the page redirects to ../previous/portalpre.php. If the two variables do not match, then there is no redirect.
 
 Here is what I have so far:

for checking whether two variables match, you´ll need the == comparison operator:

Combine two DSLR for video shooting

I've recently bought D70 kit EF-S 18-135mm + EF 50mm 1.4. I'm new to these DSLR cameras and the main purpose was to shoot cenimatic full HD videos. I came to know later that the D70 isn't a full frame camera. Now I need to add one more DSLR to shoot my videos from different angles. I need to know whether it'll be a good idea to get another D70? Or will it be better to have a full frame camera like 6D? The main thing is that I need to be able to edit videos shot by the two different cameras and show good results.
Is shooting the same video from different angles with two different DSLR bodies will give different quality videos that will be hard to combine together in editing software, like Adobe Premiere?
If videos will be harmonized easily together, then I believe owning two different cameras will be better where I'll be able to take full frame shots as well as croped ones.
Appreciate your feedback.

You don't need a full-frame camera. If you want/need to be able to use your second camera for very high quality stills, buy a 7D Mark II; otherwise buy another 70D. (I assume that's what you have. A D70 is a Nikon DSLR that's on its way to becoming an antique.)
If you think you might get serious enough about photography to eventually buy a FF camera, consider buying lenses (when you need them) that will work on a FF camera. The 18-135 you have will not. (The 50mm probably will.)
This advice comes from someone who has never shot a video. So accept it or reject it with that understanding.

Well, I need the intersection of the two levels 1 --> Company A.
Is this possible?

Hi Silvio,
The regular text variable will not work for your 3rd column because there are two years are involved. If "Actual vs. Previous" is not sufficient and it has to be "2008 vs 2007", you will have to use a user exit Text variable. Within the user exit, you should be able to find the "Actual Fiscal Year" (2008).

Is it possible to combine two WGB?

Hello,
does someone know if it is possible two combine two wgb for the same client-network?
Invented example:
There is a train with a trainwide switched Network and I want to connect this train to a cisco controller-based wlan. Because of the big lenght of the train I want to use one WGB on the one end of the train and another WGB on the other end.
Is this possible or do I need another concept with routing or something else?

So, Eduard, you think one WGB will be blocked out of the network automaticly by Spanning Tree is this right? And if only one WGB has a connection this one will be not blocked?

Yes it make sense, but does this work also if the "wire clients behind them" are the same.
To make the example a little bit easier:
There is only one wired Client in the Train. This Client is connected to a switch. And the two WGB are also connected to the same switch.

Should I combine two 1Tb drives into one logical 2Tb drive or use one 1Tb drive for system/apps and move /users to the other 1Tb drive? (I'd like ease of b/u too.)

I have two 1Tb drives in my Mini, the first is full and the second one empty. (I've been using the 2nd for Time Machine but the full source from dirve 1 soon has Time Machine complaining.) I am contemplating whether to form one 2Tb logical drive from the two 1Tb drives or segregate their use, i.e. use the first 1Tb drive to hold the system and applications while moving the /users directory tree to the second 1Tb drive?
I'm assuming both are straight forward to do accomplish but have nagging doubts about segregating drive usage, will moving the /users directory tree to the second 1Tb drive:
impact apps which might otherwise expect to see particulat fies and directories in specific user related locations on the system drive;
hinder backing up (by having to setup two separate Time Machine activities)?
Finally, is there a better 3rt option?

The supplementary questions would arise should I NOT chose to combine the separate drives into a larger logical one but to keep one of the two drives for system/apps and the other for users data... I assumed that segregating drive usagel like this might reult in issues with apps which might expect to see some user directories/files on the same drive as the system/apps. similarly, with two physical drives, I'd be looking to managing separate Time Mchines. (I have a few 2Tb pocket drives for backups.)
Final question - if I do combine into a single logical drive (for system, apps, /users ... the whole lot), would I have any problem getting this logical one working from a Time Machine backup? I ask that this backup was taken from the 1Tb physical drive and now I'd be looking to put it back onto a 2Tb logicl drive.

Acrobat (Pro or Standard) does not apply a "default" protection. It appears that someone or some other process has applied protection.

Roamingnome, thanks for your response. Although I have been a Bell (Canada) customer for my WiFi signal for years, the 5c and its necessary mobility plan, is very recent. Some years ago, Bell supplied its own ‘router’ for my computer, and claimed that it was possible to get their WiFi signal only with the router they supplied. When I recently received the 5c, I wondered if the plan it requires, which is within the much wider, overall Bell zone, could be used somehow to get my Air online - some sort of tethering? - that allows me to give up the Air WiFi service and router all together, but still get the Air connected. Here in Canada, Bell Mobility and other Bell services are very separate. Any suggestions appreciated.

B-router broadcasting two signals, a cause for constant signal losses?

My Befw11S4-ver4 b router stops broadcasting its signal about 4 or 5 times a day and I have to unplug it and then plug it back in constantly to get it running again. It has the latest firmware for that type of router, so perhaps the fact that it broadcasts two signals at once, the first one under my name with a secured sign and the second a default linksys unsecured one, could be the cause, but I have no idea how to remove the unneeded one. Strangely, the only signal that keeps disappearing is the secured one, and I cannot use the unsecured to connect to my router. Please help, as I am really tired of having to plug or unplug this thing five times a day : (

Better estimation of phase difference between two signals with variable frequency!

Hello LabView Gurus,
Being a power engineer and having just a little knowledge of signal processing and labview, I have been pulling my hair out for the last couple of days to get a better estimation of phase difference between two signals.
We have two analog voltage signals; 1. sine wave (50Hz ± 1Hz) and 2. a square wave with exactly half of sine wave frequency at any time.
At the starting point of operation (and simulation/acquisition) both signals will have no phase difference. However, the square wave's frequency changes unpredictably for a just a few millisecond but then it gets synchronized with sine wave's frequency again. This means that the square wave will be phased out from its original position. The task of the labview is to find the phase difference between the two signals continuously.
My approach to determine the phase difference is to measure the time when sine wave crosses zero amplitude and the time when the very next square wave changes amplitude from zero volts to +ve voltage (I have a 0.5volts threshold just to avoid any dramas from small line noise). The difference between these times is then divided by the time period and multiplied by 360 to get this phase difference in angles.
As this part is just a small block of a big project, I can only allow 5000Hz sampling rate each for both signals. I read 500 samples (which means I read data from 5 cycles of sine wave and 2.5 cycles of square wave).
Now the problem is, as long as the frequency of sine wave stays constant at exactly 50Hz, I get a good estimation of the phase difference but when the frequency changes even a little (and it will happen in the real scenario i.e 50Hz ± 1Hz and the square wave's frequency is dependent of sine wave's frequency), the estimation error increases.
I have attached my labview program. From front panel, you can set the phase of square wave (between -180 and 0) and you should see the labview's calculated phase in the indicator box named 'Phase'. Then you can press 'Real Frequency' switch that would cause the frequency to change like it would in real operation.
You can observe that the estimation error increases after you push the button.
All I need to do is to reduce this estimation error and make it as close to the actual phase difference as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am using LabView 2009 for this task.
The application is for electric machines and the stability/performance of machines under different faults.

I am sampling at 100 times the sine wave's frequency and 200 times the square wave's frequency. Increasing the sampling rate completely solves my problem. But since I am acquiring several other inputs, I cannot afford a sampling rate higher than 5kHz.

The trick on this is, that the square wave has harmonics in it, in this you are interested in the second harmonic which is the sine wave.
To get rid of the effect that the sync between sampling rate and ref signal frequency gives an error, you then can use the window I mentioned above (place it before the lock-in).
For a design that really plays well, use a producer-consumer design pattern to get the calculations done in parallel with the DAQ.
I suggest you to check on wikipedia for some of the keywords I mentioned. Go also for the external links which lead to great tutorials and AppNotes on the signal processing basics.
Sorry, it's not a simple solution I offer and we will have quite some conversation on this forum if you follow this path. Maybe someone else knows a simpler way.

An interesting view. the sine wave can indeed be looked as a second harmonic of the square wave. I will implement your idea and get back to you as soon as I get some results. But since I have very limited knowledge of signal processing, it might take me a while to get my hear around the solution you mentioned.

How to combine two arrays?

HI. Can anyone help me?I need to make waveform graph that shows channels' on and off states. I have done a program which works fine for one channel. Now I want to have the other channel in the same picture. I just can't plot those two signals in same picture. Is there any way to combine these two arrays so line 1 would show channel 1 state and line 2 would show channel 2 state? And it would be great if those extra lines wouldn't show at all in the chart. I know I should some how move bits of one array to the other array,but it should remain 1-D. I attach the code here. If there is(and I bet there is) a better way to do this, please tell me.

i have try to generate two signals at the same time and read voltage from another port on the board(not have to be at the same time), i have not alot of expriens in labview
and i based my code of example(http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5197) from yours site and try to suit to my needs
now my problem is when i generat the 2 signals(that work perfect) i canot read voltage from another port on my CB-68LP
i can not find the problem and make it over i hope there is away to figer out and fix it.

and after it run at synchronize mode i will need to make reading of voltage
i gust try to make simulation of machin (i give that machin AO and reading from it voltage that all)

and after it i will need to reading voltage.
i can make two signals synchronize together.

but i can't make two signals synchronize together with reading voltage
it throw to me this error message.

How to combine two datarows (business component data) in BI Publisher

Hi ,
We are using BI Publisher in Siebel Environment.
We have data coming from two business components (like from 2 diff tables)
a) <?for-each:ssTest1?>
b) <?for-each:ssTest2?>
ssTest1 and ssTest2 are the business components
We need to combine these 2 datarows (a&b) and show the data into a single combined data row for ex like <?for-each:ssTest1ssTest2?> and show all the fields in that.
I'm not sure how we can combine these two data rows into a single combined data row and show the data.
Any help from any one would be apprecated.

In the issue above, if you want to show the two other tables in the report, I think you could combine the tables into one datatable joining on key. The link below show an example of a DataSet Helper from Microsoft about combine DataSets. Take note of
the related content for other DataSet Helper examples. And then you could use the datatable in your RDLC.

According to your description, you want to create a calculated member to combine two members, and then set it as Default member, right?
In SQL Server Analysis Services, we can use the script below to create a calculated members.
