I just switched from Toad and it had a neat feature where the toad icon in my task bar would flash when a command was complete, is there anything similar in sql developer 4?

In our case we have noticed long backup times are due to disk or SAN latency.
I would try the below two things to understand the problem area.
1. Check the disk throughput using ATTO Disk Benchmark . Generally the reads should be faster than the writes but in our case we found otherwise
and our SAN provider fixed some issues on the network devices once reported
2. Check the windows counters for understand the latency, generally below 5milli sec is good, above 25 milli is not a good performance and
report to your storage provider
Avg. Disk sec/Transfer (Avg. Disk sec/Read, Avg. Disk sec/Write)

Powershell script to set custom attribute on mailuser returns WARNING: The command completed successfully but no settings of user have been modified.

I am trying to write a script to enable a mailuser (I do know the difference between mailuser and mailbox) and set a custom attribute for that mailuser. Every time I run the script I get "WARNING: The command completed successfully but no settings
of <User DN> have been modified." Both commands being invoked work when typed manually into the exchange management shell on the exchange server itself. I am using the same administrator account in the script, and when I login to the
exchange server to manually run the commands, so it shouldn't be a permission issue. Here is my script so far. If anyone can shed some light on what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate it.

This makes no sense. You don't configure a listener nor a tnsnames.ora "in a database".   I hope this is just a language issue and not reflective of a fundamental misunderstanding of how tns works.

I'm trying to increase the retention days for deleted items on a single mailbox. I run the command from the Technet site and it returns, "WARNING: The command completed successfully but no settings of '<user name>' have been modified."
I verified my account has the correct permissions but it doesn't want to work. What am I missing?

David, His issue is not that he can change the setting even when it's not used - his issue is that even if he does change the UseDatabaseDefaults setting to False, he can't change the RetainDeletedItemdFor setting. And you can change several
mailbox settings that are ignored without a warning or error - another example is that you can set a mailbox size limit even when the mailbox is set to use database defaults.
Well, Im not David, but regardless, I was referring to a *Permissions* issue when you typically receive an error, not changing a mailbox setting :)
But, I think we are taking about the same thing. That is why I asked above:
"By the way, once I set : -UseDatabaseRetentionDefaults $false, it worked,
but you stated that it doesnt work for you when set to $false?"
But I dont want to create a lot of noise for the OP, so we can argue later over a beer :)

File Copy Completion Notification Sound

Hey, i've just turned on my " play user interface sound effects " button in the System Preferences and I'd really like to find an app / utility that allows me to beef up my render notification and file transfer completion notification sounds / emails. Basically, I want to know when the computer has finished the tasks I've given it so i can know to come back to that machine and continue working. Often I'll be off doing some personal chores or on another computer watching tutorials and I really hate missing out on valuable work time.
I'm not really lookng for FTP or AFP support. I really just want to transfer ex: 120GB from X drive to Y drive via ESATA and know when it's done. If I can specify the sound file, that'd be fantastic. Additionally, SMS or Email would be heavenly.

Make terminator stay open after command completion? [SOLVED]

I'd like to execute a command into terminator from my Openbox menu and have it stay open after the command completes.
I know urxvt does this with a "-hold" option but I'd like to just use one terminal instead of two or more for different things.

I also found on the crunchbag forums that you can use a --profile flag (not mentioned in the terminator man page </sigh>)

Download Complete Notification doesn't use monitor on which Firefox is located itself

When Firefox itself is located on 2nd monitor, Download Complete Notification appears on 1st.
Meanwhile in FF 3.5.x that was fine and Notification was appearing on the proper monitor.

Complete work orders without complete notifications from Overall Completion

We have a work order assigned to a notification type and we need to complete the work order from the overall completion transaction (IW42) without completing the notification when clicking on technical completion button.
Is it possible?

You can check with your netweaver team if this could be controlled from user authorizations. Do check if the following Business Transactions are available against the tcode "iw42"
PMM2     Put notification in process
PMM4     Complete notification
PMM6     Put notif. in process again

Problem when trying to execute OS Command in Notification Method

Hi gurus,
I am using EMGC 10.2.0.2 on windows XP, I have created a Notification method with a OS Command which is a batch file which intern calls a perl script to send a mail notification. When there is an alert the Alert History logs says that 1 OS Command is executed and show s the bat file name, but I am not getting any mail as expected. I have given the absolute path for bat file. What could be the reason for this and where can I find the logs for this knowing the status of OS command execution details.

My perl script is running fine in isolation no issues with that. I thought it may be becasue of the some time out issues then I have increased time from 30 second to 120 seconds by changing the property value "em.notification.os_cmd_timeout" in emoms.properties but with out any success. I dont have any logging messages put in the perl script I will check with that also. I have checked bat file by giving some logging messages the bat file eexcuting properly.

Printing Shop Papers for Completed Notifications

This issue has been brought up on this forum before, but I have not managed to find an actual solution that was implemented by an organization.
We are basically trying to print Shop Papers for completed (NOCO) Notifications that have Orders assigned but that have been completed and TECOu2019d. The thread Need to REPRINT the Service Notification explains that it is not possible to print such shop papers. Is there some way to create a work around using user exits or a custom program to enable such shop papers to be printed? I've already checked with SAP and was told that no SAP note fulfills this requirement on ECC 6.0. I would much appreciate any insight on a solution you may have implemented.

PeteA is right you will need to have some custom code to by-pass the status checks that SAP has implemented.
Prometheus Group has a program called the Work Order Print Manager that can do this for work orders. I am a developer for this solution.
The program gathers all document related to the work order (services for objects, DMS, sapscripts/smartforms, equipment doc, functional location docs, material docs, etc) and puts them into a nice GUI for printing.
Specifically for work order you cannot print them from standard SAP if the order is in created status because the menu is greyed out). However we can put a button in a user exit to call the program. The sapscripts appear along with the other documents and can be printed.
Additionally we can add watermarks and/or to the document to let the users know they are trying to print a work order in the incorrect status. We/ I can demonstrate the work order solution to you and prototype a IW52 solution after a short discussion to help us understand your issue in particular.

Is there anyway of getting Render Finished /Background Task Completed notifications in FCPX?

Hey all
Does anyone know if its possible (Maybe with Growl or another 3rd party plugin) to get on screen notifications to pop up when rendering/background tasks have been completed in FCPX?
I usually like to let my files import/render while I'm using other programs on my Mac, but some kind of pop up would be great to notify me that the task/render has completed. Any ideas if this is possible anyhow?

Yeah, I have that, but noticed it doesn't show alerts.
I think it would be a great if you could get it to only show an alert pop up if your NOT selected on FCPX (Looking at internet/selected on another program). Either with or without a noise as well.
You could also have an on/off for it, so if users dont want to use this feature they dont have to.
I'm currently importing 11 x 4GB 720p 50fps 12 minute clips one at a time (With the following settings) and I'd like to be alerted when each one has finished importing/rendering etc.
I dont want to import them all at once as its going to take about 10 hours and I dont plan on having my Mac booted up for this entire time, so one at a time makes it easier to manage.

Are the default key commands completely different in L9 compared to L8?

I have had to reset my key commands to the defaults, and seem to have lost all my old key commands.
My commands with Logic 8 were the absolute default ones (I didn't change any of them!!) - here are some of the ones I used a lot:
Pressing 0 on the numeric keyboard was always stop. "/" on the numeric keyboard was always cycle on/cycle off.
Pressing control and using the up/down/left/ right arrows (the ones in between the QWERTY keyboard and the number pad) always zoomed in and out, vertically and horizontally respectively...
Pressing the "C" key was always click on/click off. Now it's cycle on/off.
My question is... can someone confirm that the Logic 9 default key commands are completely different, and that these shortcuts above have all gone?
I know I can set them up again, I guess I'm just puzzled that so many of the main commands would completely change their defaults for L9!

Some of the more in-depth key commands have changed slightly , but the standard ones are still the same.
Most of these you've described are ( or should be still ) exactly the same.
Make sure that you are still using the standard keyboard layout and language in *'Apple/system preferences/international/input menu'*
Mine swiched to German a few months ago and I had no idea what was going on.

Error while completing notification?

When I am pressing NOCO flag of notification I am getting error No Code group or Cause code text for Item 0005. Notification 10246076 Message no. IW912
This item number 5 is deleted and new item for cause code or object part is added then it take item no 6. when I am entering all the data then also gettign this error.

I believe you made a change to the catalog entries in QS41 and now you are trying to complete (and hence save) a notification with an invalid catalog entry? Is this the case?
if so,
You could have deleted a code that was not used in ndevelopment, but used in QA or Production system... Try deleting the code from the notification before you complete it, or restore the original code, transport the change, set NOCO, then delete it from the catalog again.

Move download complete notification to bottom of screen

When a download is complete the notification appears at the top right of the screen. The problem with this is that it is a large notice and covers up the download button so I have to wait for the message to disappear, or click the close button, before I can click the dowload button to access my file. So this wastes time or gives me an extra click to get to my file. It's infuriating.
I have tried to move the alert when it is there but you can't drag it. I have searched the preferences for an option to turn it off, but can't find one. I am using a mac, and yet on a friends pc computer I've noticed the alert appears at the bottom of the screen. So how can I get mine to do this? I have put up with it for months now hoping it will change with an update, but now on version 25 and nothing has changed, the big alert is still there in the way and it's driving me mad.
Please does anyone have a solution for this?
