Command line calling

Hello everyone,
I am a PhD student in Stockholm, studying VoIP technology. I am in the middle of writing my dissertation, about command line calling.
As I'm doing my researches, I've already found some very interesting research material, such as this page:
XxXwww.voip-sip-sdk.com/p_251-how-to-use-the-command-line-caller-example-with-ozeki-voip-sip-sdk-voipXxX (cancel the X-s)
It would be great to find someone to discuss this program, or maybe a whole group, because it would really help me with moving on.
Any advice is welcome!
Thx

  • Hide oracle password on Unix command line call?

Does anyone know whether you can hide the password for a command line call to rwrun60 under Unix? For other Oracle products like sqlplus you can hide the password by supplying it using the redirection operator. i.e. sqlplus userid @script <<EOD and then put the password or password@sid on the next line and then EOD on the 3rd line to end the redirection. This virtually hides the password from anyone able to look at processes on the system. Can this also be done for rwrun60? If you just put the userid after userid= will reports prompt you for a password?

    Take a look at http://java.sun.com/features/2002/09/pword_mask.html.
    Hope this helps,

  • MS SSIS command line call "Argument for option 'set' is not valid"

    Hi all,
I'm tring to execute a SSIS package from command line. Here's the code:
    dtexec.exe /file "E:\TestIS\IntegrationServicesProject1\IntegrationServicesProject1\Package.dtsx" /set \Package.Variables[User::Name].Properties[Value];20150314
and it return a error saying  "Argument for option 'set' is not valid". I've configure the package and generated a XML file. And do exactly as the official doc says. However, this line of code just doesn't work. If I delete the set option
and run the package alone, it can be ran. So anyone can help me out? Thank you in advance.

    Hi NoahdeArk,
In SQL Server Integration Services, string literals must be enclosed in quotation marks. The expression language provides a set of escape sequences for commonly escaped characters such as nonprinting characters and quotation marks. A string literal consists
of zero or more characters surrounded by quotation marks. If a string contains quotation marks, these must be escaped in order for the expression to parse. For more details, please see:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141001.aspx
So to troubleshoot this issue, please refer to the following command:
    dtexec.exe /file "E:\TestIS\IntegrationServicesProject1\IntegrationServicesProject1\Package.dtsx" /set \Package.Variables[User::Name].Properties[Value]; \"20150314\"
    Or
    dtexec.exe /file "E:\TestIS\IntegrationServicesProject1\IntegrationServicesProject1\Package.dtsx" /set \Package.Variables[User::Name].Properties[Value]; \""20150314"\"

  • Command line call of sqlplus with system-privileges

    Hello,
I have the following problem: I like to run a sqlplus-command on sun-solaris with a 8.1.7 database which needs system-privileges. It works with every other user. When I use system I'll get an ORA-01017 (Invalid username/password).
When I start this from DOS-Client it works, but I must run it from sun-solaris.
    Has anyone an idea?
    Thanks!!!

how are you connecting to the sun box from dos
    like this?
    connect system/manager@remote_db
are you sure you have connected to the correct database?
try select name from v$database after you have connected.
do you have more than one instance on the sun box? have you st SID and HOME
correctly to point you to the correct instance? If you can connect with another user
from the sun box again verify that you are connected to the correct instance

  • Calling an ExtendScript script from the command line

Hi! I can call an ExtendScript script from a command line just by using its path, but is there a way to pass parameters to the script? Thanks. -Rick

    Hi Rick,
Well, a scan of the documentation certainly provides no evidence of this capability. If it exists, someone else will have to fill us in.
I did have an idea, although it's a bit of a roundabout approach. A windows batch file can accept parameters and can write a text file. So, maybe Mif2Go can call a batch file instead that writes the folder to some file, then runs the script that reads the file. Although, I'm not familiar with a command line call to ES, so I'm not sure that a batch file can launch an ES script too. If not, can Mif2Go make more than one command line call?

  • Help required - running a Java program from the command line

    Hi,
I have a small non-graphical Java application, packaged into a Jar file. My program relies on classes in another (external) Jar file.

  • Command-line parameters and dbxtool

Hello, I'm trying to call dbxtool from a script in order to start a debug session. My command line is something like this:
    dbxtool -E prog -arg1 -arg2
Where "-arg1 -arg2" are arguments accepted by prog. However dbxtool seems to be trying to process those args itself, so upon launch of dbxtool I get a dialog saying "dbxtool: unrecognized option '-arg1'".
I don't think this is a quoting issue with my debugging script, since I get this error when simply running dbxtool as above from the command line.
Any tips on how to pass these args in correctly?
    Thanks,
    -Jason

I will submit a bug report, thanks for the link.
Yes, we're using -E for legacy reasons. We have a script that sets up the environment we need, and then launches the debugger. For Studio 11 and previously we used sunstudio -E, so now with Studio 12 it seems that dbxtool is more appropriate.
I realize that the parameters could be entered in dbxtool, but our users are accumstomed to providing them on the command-line call to our script. Having to enter them in dbxtool is seen as an extra step, retrograde, etc. It's difficult enough getting them to use Solaris over Windows as it is. ;-)
I did notice that the dbxtool manpage mentions "If you intend to embed dbxtool in a shell script or driver program, consider using ss_attach", which sounded good, but ss_attach doesn't seem to accept parameters.

  • How to run executable Java app from command line: No Main( ) method

This is the opposite question from what most users ask. I have the Java source code and a running Java executable version of the program in a windows environment. I don't want to run it in the normal way by double-clicking on it or using the executable. I need to be able to run the same application from the command line. If I can do this, I can then compile and run the code on my Mac, too, which is what I am ultimately trying to accomplish.
Normally, this would be easy. I would look for a Main method, normally public static void main (String[] args ) or some variation. I cannot find a main() anything, anywhere when searching the files. There must be some windows executable that links to the Java classes. It's very clever, no doubt, but that's not helping me.
I am trying to run what I can determine as the Main class, with a standard command line call, but that is not working either.
It is a Java graphics program, so mostly Swing container stuff.
I am not finding a manifest.txt file, telling me where a main method is, nor anything about the Main Class. There is no readme file for the program.
Any insight that would point me in the right direction? What should I be looking for?
    Thanks in advance, Bloozman

It's possible there's a clever Windows executable that runs the class. But if it's a plain old Java class then there's a good chance there's a constructor. Look for that; it's possible you may be able to start by writing another Java class that creates an instance of your mystery class.
When you have that done, try running it. It's possible that just creating an instance might be sufficient to run it. Swing programs are sometimes written like that. If not, then start looking for methods with names like "run" or "go" or "start" that your little controller program can call.

  • Executing sql scripts with command line Sql plus

    Hello
Well I will be gradefull if I have an answer to the follow questions
    a) How can I connect to a remote XE using sqlplus (command line)?
for example I'm trying to connect like this : sqlplus sys/syspassw@//remoteserver:1521/xe
and I get responce from server that I have to connect as SYSDBA or SYSOPER, so what is the proper syntax in this case?
    b) I want to execute a script file with DDL commands from Windows conscole using sqlplus. Inside this script I have the connect command and others. Is there a way to pass the name of script file as parameter to the sqlplus and execute it ? If yes what is the proper syntac from command line of Windows?
    Thank you

There are two ways to do that...
Either use the spool command in sqlplus, or on your command line calling sqlplus use a >> to direct the output to a file. Usually the spool is cleaner.
    It goes like this:
    spool C:\logfile.txt
    {sql commands here}
    spool off
    or
    sqlplus /nolog @sqlfile.sql >> C:\logfile.txt
The output will be formatted slightly differently, and if you use the DOS method you won't be able to see the output as it's running.

  • VBScript which is called with Arguments from Command Line

    Hi There.
I have been tasked to create a VBScript which needs to accomplish the following:
It needs to be called from a command line using 4 different arguments, the arguments in order as follows:
    -          Drive letter including colon
    Warning threshold in percentage
    Warning threshold in GB remaining
    Recipient email address
I need to be able to set up a scheduled task, to run this script, but at the same time I need to be able to specify multiple drive letters as separate steps but on a single task.  The script needs to automatically run every 4 hours, starting at 06:00AM
in the morning and running no later than 22:00 at night.
The end results, need to then be e-mailed to the Recipient which is specified in Argument (3).
Following is my current script, it is not complete as I am currently pulling my hair out due to having a lack of knowledge of VBScripting....  :(  The current script also loops every 10 minutes or so, and uses the incorrect way of sending the results,
we would like to use POSTIE.EXE to send the mail as we would want to eliminate web traffic (Microsoft Schema's) in this script.
