Command Line Executable

How would I create the following programs;
Operator input executable that allows the operator to input two numbers.
ADD executable that accepts two command line arguments and returns the results.
From the operator input executable the operator enters two numbers and presses the start button, the program then calls the Add program executable using the command line and passing the two numbers to the program and waits for a response from the Add program and displays the results.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for. Do you really need to call external exe files that perform a certain function or will regular LabVIEW VIs be okay? Do you need the list of external files to be dynamic or is this a fixed set of functions you need to implement? For something dynamic, you can look at the shipping example called 'Plug In Example.VI'. If it's a fixed set of functions, you just need some sort of ring control on the front oanle wired to a case statement.

  • BO Edge 4.0 Installer stuck on "Run command-line executable"

    Hi,
    Our BO Edge BI Server 4.0 Installer on Windows Server 2008R2 is stuck on one of the last steps; "Run command-line executable".
    Before is was stuck on "WaitForCMSForTheFirstTime". We upped the RAM to 16GB and then the installer went past this, but after a full reset of the server and trying again it is now stuck a few steps later on "Run command-line executable". This is very frustrating, especially since there is no error message at all, no install log and the installer is just stuck indefinitely and we had to cancel it.
    At that point the Central Configuration Manager shows this:
    Apache Tomcat - Running
    BW Publisher Service - Stopped
    SAP BO Mobile Authentication Server - Stopped
    SAP BO Mobile Processing Server - Stopped
    Server Intelligence Agent - Running
    We can't deinstall from Windows to start over at this point because the installer says an install is in progress.
    What is going on?
    Help urgently needed and appreciated

    Hello,
    Yes, certain stages run for a long duration. "Run command-line executbale" runs for atleast 45 mins. It's normal.
    My suggestion would be to leave it for 45 mins-90 mins.
    Now that you have interrupted your installtion, try uninstalling it through the control panel.
    In case you can't see the software there, then you have to edit registry entries, which is very tiresome.

    I use TranslationHub every day for translation few forms or reports. All processes (copy of sources, compile, reports transform RDF<->REX and so on) are driven via batch. Only main translation - I have to search modules in trees of TranslationHub user interface and run it manually.
    I try OTBATCH for run TranslationHub from command line. It's great. It's possible to module import, it's possible to update TRANS projects. But it is not possible to launch main translation. Does is other tool exist for batch processing?

    Hi,
    no, there is no other batch processing utility than using the otbatch command.
    What do you mean by

  • Problem opening a file from a command line executed program with args

    I have to run my program from the command prompt like this:
    c:\ java Parser template.txt keyvalue.dat output.txt
    I figured out how to read the args in, and I know they are being assigned to the proper variables. My template.txt, etc are in the same directory that I am in when I run the program. They are also all lowercase, just like the command.
    The only error it throws is the one that I coded (Error opening file template.txt) I would make my message better if I knew what the problem was!!!!
    Any ideas (either for what I'm missing or how to improve my error handling) :\

    After catching the exception, call the printStackTrace() to have it print out the error it caught, as well as the file and line number it occured on...

  • Problem executing command line program

    Hi I have a tuxedo command line app in Solaris 2.6. I was able to execute the program from unix prompt however when I try to do it from JAVA program, it does not work.
    I have to execute from command line as follows
    $ud32<SPACE>-U<SPACE>login<nl>
    SRVCNM<TAB>CB_EXESUB<nl>
    CLFY_SUB<TAB>ExeternalMsg<nl>
    EQUIP_ID<TAB>1<nl>
    <nl>
    during command line execution from second line on you will not get the prompt. After entering a balnk line the program will execute and provide the output.
    I was aslo able to execute the program by putting the last 4 lines in a file(say test.bat) and executing by issuing following command at the unix prompt
    $ud32 -U sa<test.bat
    My java program as follows.
    import java.io.*;
    public class udexec {
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    try{
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    System.out.println("Before");
    Process prcs = rt.exec("ud32 -U sa");
    System.out.println("After: " + prcs);
    InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(prcs.getInputStream());
    PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(prcs.getOutputStream());
    out.println("SRVCNM CB_EXESUB");
    out.println("CLFY_SUB ExternalMsg");
    out.println("EQUIPID 1");
    out.println("");
    int ret = isr.read();
    String line;
    System.out.println("Before Print");
    System.out.println(ret);
    catch (Exception e) { System.out.println(e); }
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You

    Hmm, maybe you should also give additional Excape Characters to the Process (so adding \t where you have written <TAB>, or adding \r to the lines).

  • Executing another program with command line arguments

    I am very new to Java, so bare with me.
    I have written an encryption/decryption program in C (that accepts command line arguments of the key, mode (encrypt/decrypt), and file), and I have written a GUI for it in Java. It accepts the filename (and has a button which opens the "File/Open" dialog), key, and mode, and has a button to Start the process of the encryption. I'd like for that "Start" button to call my encryption program in C (eep.exe) with the command line arguments of the file, key, and mode. This is what I have written so far :
    Start = new JButton("Start");
    Start.setBounds(150, 180, 90, 25);
    Start.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae) {
    Desktop.open(new File("C:\\eep.exe" + " " + filename + " " + mode + " " + key));
    However, I get the error "Cannot make a static reference to the non-static method open(File) from the type Desktop" on the Desktop.open command.
    What should I do? Is Desktop.Open the right way to go about this? If not, what is the right way to go about it?
    Thanks in advance.

    That has helped greatly, but I cannot pass command line arguments to it.
    Using :
    try {
        Desktop.getDesktop().open(new File("C:\\eep.exe"));
    catch (Exception e) {
       System.out.println("Error executing.");
    }I can execute eep.exe, but when I try to pass command line arguments to it, such as
    Desktop.getDesktop().open(new File("C:\\eep.exe" + " " + filename));it fails, get caught and prints "Error Executing."
    I have also tried loading the program, as well as some command line arguments into an array of strings :
    String[] cmdArray = {"C:\\eep.exe", filename};
    Desktop.getDesktop().open(new File(cmdArray));But it gives me the error "The constructor File(String[]) is undefined" on the
    new File (cmdArray)part of the command.

  • PS3 droplet called from command line in XP reads in files but does not execute action

    Hello.
    I am a researcher interested in anxiety disorders in young children. As part of a functional magnetic resonace brain imaging study we need to compare children's responses to familiar and unfamiliar faces. The latter are no problem, but for the former we need to take pictures of the children's mothers and process them "on the fly" so that they can be incorporated into stimulus sets presented in the MRI machine (otherwise known as the "magnet").
    For presentation in the magnet, the images have to be in a particular format. I have created an action that produces the appropriate format, and a PS3 droplet that behaves appropriately (outputs correctly modified files to the stated address) when a Windows XP (SP3) folder is dropped on it.
    However, I need to automate the procedure further because it will be executed by individuals with little or no understanding of PS etc.
    It occurred to me that I could call my droplet from the XP command line with the folder containing the relevant files as an argument (and then I would be able to incorporate this function into an overall control program).
    However, I have found that this approach loads the relevant files into CS3, but that the actions don't run.
    I would very much appreciate any help with this problem.
    Thank you.
    Adrian Angold.

    A command line script might work, but would lack a user interface. Error
    processing and logging capabilities would also be limited.
    I would consider writing a small application in a language such as Visual
    Basic or C# that uses Photoshop's automation interface. The automation SDK
    is provided on the Photoshop DvD.

  • Execute script from AfterFX command line

    Hello all
    I'm trying to run a script from the AfterFX.exe command line and I get a message: "Unable to execute script at line 1. Syntax error"
    If I run the same script file from the AE Script Editor, it works perfectly
    Here is the command line I'm using:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS6\Support Files\AfterFX.exe" -noui -s "D:\Product\Watermark\Rendering\WatermarkedSecuritySample.jsx"
    Anyone have an idea of what can cause this error? I've tried running the script directly in the command line like
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS6\Support Files\AfterFX.exe" -noui -s "alert('1')"
    and it works fine for short script but mine is way to big to do that
    As you can probably guess with the "Watermark" and "Security" in the filename, I cannot post the script file here, all I can say is that the line 1 is:
    var projectName = "D:\\Product\\WatermarkTemplate.aep";
    I've tried to replace the entire script with "alert('1');" and it cause the same error when running it from the command line
    Also, if anyone know where I can find the AfterFX.exe command line arguments description, I would be very happy.. everybody talks about aerender.exe but I need thoses options for AfterFX.exe
    Thanks for your help

    Have you tried to use "-r" instead of "-s"?
    (argument for "-s" is a script; and argument for "-r" is a path to script)

  • Execute Process Flow via command line

    How can I execute a Process flow from the command line?

    As far as I know once the job is setup in OEM it is submitted either through OEM UI or by scheduling, I don't think there is a command line interface. I would ask on OEM forum anyway Enterprise Manager
    But why such complexity? All OWB maps keep the execution audit history in one place already.
