Command Line -useExisting modifier

I'm trying to use the -useExisting option with the full-featured LabVIEW User Interface, when I run the command:
"C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 3.5\OperatorInterfaces\NI\Full-Featured\LabVIEW\TestExec.exe" C:\Sequence1.seq -useExisting
TestExec runs and then opens the Sequence1.seq file, however when I run the command again with a different sequence... for example:
"C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 3.5\OperatorInterfaces\NI\Full-Featured\LabVIEW\TestExec.exe" C:\Sequence2.seq -useExisting
It won't open the file...
Am I missing an argument or anything else?
I tested this in TS4.0 and it worked... is this a bug in this version???
Thanks...

<< - N - >>,
I ran a few short tests on my machine, and I was able to reproduce the exact behavior that you were experiencing.  After speaking with a few of the TestStand developers, we believe that this problem has something to do with the way that LabVIEW launches its executables.  Specifically, we believe that the behavior when launching multiple instances of the same executable changed between different versions of the LabVIEW Runtime Engine.
The LabVIEW full-featured operator interfaces with TestStand 4.0 or 4.0.1 are built with LabVIEW 8.2.1 but the LabVIEW full-featured operator interfaces with TestStand 3.5 are built with LabVIEW 7.1.1.
Which version of LabVIEW are you using to build your OIs?  It is possible if you just rebuild them in a newer version that it will solve the problem.
While searching, I found this post which describes an ini key that might be useful as well.

  • Command Line Modifying File

    Hello -
I have done an IDOC->XI-File scenario, everything looks good except for one line that needs to be added.
Without using XSLT/JAVA mapping (not that complex scenario), is it possible to modify the file that has been received to add an extra line.
For e.g after i have received the file, looks like this:
    <xml>
    <a>
    <b>test</b>
    </a>
Can i write a command line program for the file receiver adapter in the communication channel to modify the receiver file to add an extra line.
    For e.g.
    <xml>
    This is a test
    <a>
    <b>test</b>
    </b>
This is an example but in the real case its a huge file and believe me its a straight mapping from IDOC to the file but only thing needed is an extra line of text that needs to be added for which i do not want to use the XSLT or JAVA mapping programs.
Is it possible through the command line to read the Received file and modify the file by writing that extra line.
    Any clues would really help.
    Thanks,
    Tirumal

Yes, if you are using file content conversion all you need to do is add this parameters.

  • Modifying Job Settings in Distiller to invoke command line switch

Beginning in the 8.1 update, there were directory restrictions put in place that can be disabled using the '-F' command line switch. We have an in-house application that creates postscript files utilizing CCITT G4 compression that need this switch to be in place in order for the files to normalize properly.
Is there a way to modify the job settings in such a way that the command line switch is incorporated and therefore invoked every time a postscript is distilled using that setting?
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Jim

    Hi,
Here is the script to turn off time machine
do shell script "defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine AutoBackup -bool false"
Change false to true to turn it on.

  • Solaris/Linux Reports 6i modify object names from command line

We are running Solaris 2.6 and are converting Reports from 3 to 6i.
We want to change the name of certain objects at the command line, preferably in batch mode.
    Any help gratefully received.

Looks like the command is being split in some way - the connection to sqlplus is being made before it completes the whole string
It appears to be seeing the @instance_name as a script to execute rather than a db to connect to.
Is the database on the same server as the script?
If so, try setting your environment to the correct databsae, so that you can omit the @instance_name part of the syntax and see if it helps
Also just noticed the failure to open the decrypt script. It would appear uyou are not using a full path name. Have you checked which directroy the scheduled job starts in? You may need to look at running some environment specific scripts first.

  • Mail rule to modify e-mail header (via external command line tool)

    Hello,
Apple Mail lets me add AppleScripts which will be executed whenever this rule is being called.
I have some command line tools that lets me add some information to the e-mail's header. For example, spamprobe (a anti spam tool, which works perfectly for me) would add an e-mail header like
    X-SpamProbe: SPAM 0.9999749 8aba943058c55bb20bd974fc534b71cc
or clamdscan would add (in combination with the command line tool formail) add information about viruses into the e-mail header, such as
    X-Virus: [clamscan] Heuristics.Phishing.Email.SpoofedDomain FOUND
After marking the e-mails, spam can be easily filtered out. Currently I'm using procmail to call all those external tools. They work much more accurate for me than Apple Mail's built-in spamfilter.
Now, however, I want to keep my mail on an IMAP server, thus, procmail does not work anymore. (procmail works only on local e-mails.) Is there any way to "stamp" incoming mails with Apple Mail by an external command line tool, leaving the mail at the end on the IMAP server? It should be the following workflow:
Apple Mail checks new mails and calls a rule on any e-mail which sends a copy of the mail to an external command line tool
The command line tool adds information to the given e-mail (e.g., virus or spam information)
Apple Mail "replaces" the e-mail on the IMAP server with the altered e-mail
Apple Mail calls another rule which filters all detected spam e-mails
Is Mail + AppleScript that flexible to include the use of external command line tools?
Certainly, an even better alternative would be to have a tool like procmail which could work directly on messages on IMAP servers. However, I'm not aware of any that could do that.
    Thanks for any comment.
    Claus

If you want to execute a command line as a mail rule you could define an apple script that executes the command line,
    for example
    tell application "Finder"
      do shell script "ls"
    end tell
    executes the shell command "ls"
For "ls" substitute your command line command.

  • Error while running a Discoverer Workbook with parameter from command line

I am trying to run a discoverer report from command line and export the results in xls on to my local machine. I could do it fine for a simple workbook, but if I add a parameter(madatory) to the workbook and run it from command line specifying the parameter value I wanted to run the report for, I do not get any results. Here is the command line I am using.
    dis51usr.exe /connect user/password@database /apps_user /apps_responsibility "System Administrator" /eul EUL_US /open C:\Disco\Test.DIS /sheet Testsheet /parameter Period Jan-07 /export xls C:\Disco\X.xls /batch
Parameter value is entered in correct format(Jan-07).
When I removed /batch from this to see if I get any error, Discoverer Desktop opened up, logged in and gets terminated saying 'Oracle Discoverer Desktop has encountered a problem and need to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
Did anybody come across this issue before?

    Hello,
If you have a few minutes, Windows is also aborting for me:
the differences are, my situation is:
    a) am running the command line from a .bat file
    b) am NOT running with parms, want the discoverer query to come up for the user
    c) am running a query from the database
i am signing in as myself BUT running a query that was created by a generic user called SREG
    c) if i run the .bat file from Windows Explorer, the query opens fine
    d) if i execute the .bat file from within Microsoft Access using the shell command,
the query opens and then aborts RIGHT BEFORE the parm screen would display
    e) btw, if i modify the .bat file, to run a query from MY database signon, then (d) - running .bat file
from vb using SHELL command works
Do you have a ideas as to why (d) does not work? I would be very grateful for your time, tx, sandra
this is what i posted yesterday, tx: Re: Running Discoverer command line

  • Command line compiler (rhcl.exe) adds on rogue full pathways into [Merge Files] of .hhp

I'm using RH 9 and generating chm outputs on my Win 7 64-bit computer.
I have a core chm help file and several sub chm helps that get merged into it.
I have a batch file that regularly compiles our help files locally and then copies them into a common local directory. It then copies them up to a mapped network drive where they are picked up by the nightly build of our installer.
The problem I have, is that the command line compiler (rhcl.exe) is adding on a full pathway for all the sub helps listed in the [Merge Files] section of the core help's .hhp file, causing these problems:
    1) First of all, the pathways are wrong. The pathway it puts on is from the location of my .xpj file of my core help project. The output directory for the compiler is actually sending all the helps to a different local directory.
    2) These need to be relative, and should not have full pathways. The full pathways make it so that when I click on a subhelp TOC entry that subhelp's topic opens up in an entirely different window instead of merged into the core help's window. (See #13 on Peter's helpful site here about the problem with absolute paths: http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/rh9/using_rh9.htm)
Here' what I want it to look like (the good):
    [MERGE FILES]
    pcdmisportable.chm
    pcdmistutor.chm
    pcdmisvision.chm
    pcdmislaser.chm
    pcdmiscmm.chm
    pcdmisUJB.chm

    toolkitmodulesvwmp.chm
    pcdmisdci.chm
    toolkitmodules.chm
    pcdmisnc.chm
    pcdmisip.chm
    toolkitmodulesblade.chm
    pcdmisregistry.chm
    pcdmisfixturing.chm
Here's what it looked like after the command line compile (the bad and the ugly):
    [MERGE FILES]
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisportable.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmistutor.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisvision.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmislaser.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmiscmm.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisUJB.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdbasic.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\toolkitmodulesvwmp.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisdci.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\toolkitmodules.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisnc.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisip.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\toolkitmodulesblade.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisregistry.chm
    d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\corehelp\pcdmisfixturing.chm
    I've done the following ....
I've checked my .xpj file and they have relative paths only.
    I've deleted my .cpd file.
I've removed chm references from my rhbag.apj.
... and the hhp file still gets modified with pathways to my core project
    directory tacked on:
It's strange; because if I compile without the command line, by opening the project and running the generation inside of RH, I don't get the problem where it re-writes the [Merge Files] section with the pathnames.
Any ideas on where are these rogue full pathways coming from and how I can fix it? Or is it just a bug with the command line version of the compiler that Adobe will need to fix?

I don't use command line generation but to the best of my knowledge, this has not been fixed.

  • BBIPS - Command Line Utilities

BBIPS - Command Line Utilities - Just released !
I wrote these after working on the main bbips program recently, and decided that individual functions could also be seperate programs, sometimes making it easier to chain them together to do multiple operations to image files.  This is the first release, and this contains 20 seperate programs to manipulate your images files.
To install these simply open a shell and run this command:
    wget "http://bbips.org/downloads/bbipsinstall.sh"; sh bbipsinstall.sh; rm -f bbipsinstall.sh
    This will do the following.
    1. Create a directory if not already present "~/.bbips"
    2. Download into that directory "bbips-clu.tar.gz"  (http://bbips.org/downloads/bbips-clu.tar.gz)
    3. Extracts everything from bbips-clu.tar.gz to "~/.bbips"
    4. Removes the file bbips-clu.tar.gz (cleanup)
    5. Downloads the file bbipsbashrc (overwrites it if it exists) (http://bbips.org/downloads/bbipsbashrc)
    6. Checks to see if your .bashrc file has already been modified yet
    7. If .bashrc hasn't been modified, sources in the bbipsbashrc file.
    8. Exits
Now.... if you follow the directions, you will close this shell and open a new shell (effectively reloading your bashrc file for you).  Now, from the command line, run the command "bbhelp"

The commandline utility client scripts that we provide out of the box will support either NT or unix. Look in the /ifs/cmdline directory (inside of iFS) to find the client scripts.
By the way, all the scripts do is run a java application (the CUP client) and pass it parameters. You don't really need them to use the CUP server (you could manually run the CUP client).

  • Creating Job definition using Command line.

    Hi all,
is there a possibility to create a job through command line, with parameter as CMD and source as any batch file and scheduling it on the fly.
    Let me know...
    Always
    sai.

yes, you can use ldapmodify to add objectclasses. You should modify cn=schema and follow the objectclasses and attributes syntax. You can check config/schema directory in any dsee instance for examples.
Other way is adding objectclasses editing directly 99user.ldif schema file whereas dsee is down.

  • Command to set modify Advanced Security Settings (Audit Settings for folders) on windows 2008

    Hello,
We have requirement to modify  Advanced Security Settings (Audit Settings for folders) on windows 2008. I am looking for a command which does this job.
I know, using group policies I can do this; in fact I had done this using group policies. However, I need to do this on number of servers which are not in domain. There are around 15 folders on which I need to enable Auditing; manual editing folder advanced
permissions is a cumbersome job. Hence, I am looking for a command line options.
I need to know how command can be utilised to enable Audit option on a folder. Please share a command which can do this; once I get the command, I will create a batch file for other necessary folders. (BTW, this is not a scripting question, I just need to
know the command hence, please do not re-direct me to scripting forum)
Manually through GUI, I am setting following.. snaps are given below
    Thanks !

You can try using Auditpol.exe: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731451%28v=ws.10%29.aspx

  • Can't change activation only mode to off using the command line in Windows 7 64 bit

I used the command line to turn activation only mode on and now when I use teh command to turn it off it will not change the iTunes setup. I am on Windows 7 64 bit. I tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling and it is stillin activation only mode.

Hi! Thx for your quick reply! I am still unsure what to do tho---see my questions below in bold:
Windows 7 comes with its own version of the standard PostScript driver. = Where is this driver? I have no idea how to find it, it doesn't show up in my Printer menu in FM?
Given that PostScript generated by a driver can be highly device-specific, you need to install the driver as modified by the PPD file for the device in question. Most printer manufacturers in fact provide a PostScript driver installer that associates their printer's PPD file with the standard Windows Printer driver and subsequently creates what is called a PostScript printer driver instance for the particular device on the I/O port you designate. = ??? I've only updated a PPD file for watermarks and have no idea what this means...is there a step-by-step instruction for this? I just need to download a PS driver to select that works & doesn't freeze up my FM when creating a .ps file.
The real question thus is exactly what are you trying to generate PostScript for? = I create a PS, & then use Distiller to create a PDF. This enables me to have a PDF that automatically has Bookmarks, the TOC/LOF/LOT & all corss-refs are hyperlinked, etc.
If you are trying to create PostScript for distillation into PDF, Acrobat installs a PostScript driver instance of its own, labelled Adobe PDF, that is associated with the Acrobat Distiller PPD. = I have tried the Adobe PDF selection from my Printer menu in FM, but it freezes up FM and I have to close the whole program & no PDF generates.
BTW, although you may be successful in installing and running FrameMaker 8 on Windows 7, in fact Adobe officially does not support FrameMaker 8 on Windows 7. = I don't know what to say---the upgrade is too expensive for some of us folks out here right now, so we all need to work with what we have for now!
I appreciate your help, thank you.

  • How can hide the command line of a t.code in the portal

    Dear Experts.
    I have the following doubt:
How can hide the Command Line of a Report that is called with a T.Code in the portal?
    Attach Image:
    [Image T.Code|http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/eab3b6a03c.jpg]
When I created a service using the T.Code SICF for the T.Code , I can hide buttons and the filed command line  using
    ~webgui_simple_toolbar
    ~singletransaction
    ~NOHEADEROKCODE
With notes 1010519, "SAP GUI for HTML: Simplified Title Area Without Menu and OK Code" and 959417.
But the problem is that when I create the service in the T.Code SICF, I also have that create an Iview IAC in the portal.
The Question is : How can hide this fields and buttons if I want Publish the T.code using an Iview Transaction in the portal?
In this moment I have used the two options:
1 option) I created a service using the t.Code SICF for my Transaction and I also created an Iview IAC in the portal for call the service.
    RESULT:

    2)  created an Iview Transaction  in the portal and  call my transaction.
    RESULT.
    [Image T.Code|http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/eab3b6a03c.jpg]
But not can hide the field Command Line and other buttons.
I think that the command :
    ~webgui_simple_toolbar
    ~singletransaction
    ~NOHEADEROKCODE
Only can be used if I create a service using the T.Code SICF .
    Best Regards
    Carmen.

    Hi Carmen,
The bottom line is that this cannot be done for transaction iviews without modifying the standard webgui service in SICF, which is probably not a good idea (since it affects everyone using SAP GUI for HTML). (You could hack the appintegrator to add the ~webgui_simple_toolbar parameter to the transaction URL template in the portal, but again its not a recommended thing to do ...). Better to create an IAC service in SICF with ~webgui=1 where you set the required appearance using an appropriate value for ~webgui_simple_toolbar, and then create an IAC iview to point at this service.
You can even override the ~transaction value configured in the new service in individual IAC iviews by entering the appropriate value in the application parameter of the iview, for example:
    ~okcode=/nSU01
And you can pass parameters in the same way:
    ~okcode=/nSU01 USR02-BNAME=xyz;USREFUS-USERALIAS=abc;
By the way, it would not be recommended to create a URL iview to access an IAC, since you are likely to encounter session management issues in this scenario - better to use an IAC iview.
    Regards, Rory

  • Command Line Parameters for Silent Install with Status for BI4.0 Products

For the XI3.1 product installations, which clearly leveraged MSIEXEC installation files, it was possible to use the /qb+ command line parameter to trigger a silent install which showed the progress of the installation with a final prompt to acknowledge the completion of the installation.
For the new BI4.0 installation package, it's not clear how to trigger a silent installation which also shows the installation progress.  The installation guide describes using -q in the command line to run a silent installation, or leveraging a response.ini file to trigger a silent install, but in neither case does it show how to modify the silent installation command to enable a display of the installation progress.
Does anyone know the syntax, either command line or embedded in a response.ini file, to trigger a silent installation for the BI4.0 products which ALSO shows the progress of the installations?
    Thanks,

Yes, I've tried the same switch that I used for the XI3.1 installations, namely "/qb".  In XI3.1 I was able to use this switch either directly in the MSIEXEC command line or in the Response.ini file as "QUIET=/qb".  In either case, this switch resulted in a silent install that showed a progress bar window for the installation, completing with a confirmation prompt indicating that the installation had completed.
Neither approach works with the BI4.0 installation packages.  My suspicion is that SAP has switched to a different installation engine as I can't find the typical .msi installation files that would indicate this is a MSIEXEC installation.  I'm hoping someone knows what type of installation engine is being used and what the switching syntax is for silent installs. But it can't be a completely transparent silent install (I know how to do this); it must provide an option to show an installation progress bar.
    Thanks,
    Josh
