Command parameters in sap shortcut

we want to launch a transaction within SAP GUI from the Enterprise Portal. The transaction requires a lot of input parameters (the length of those parameters can reach up to 1000 characters). Unfortunately we found that using generated shortcut files as well as the transaction launcher iview we could not transfer more than 200 characters. All additional chars are simply ignored.
Does anyone know of a possibility of launching the SAP GUI and transfering more than 200 characters (i.e. completely filling a dynpro containing several input fields).

Hi Jan,
we've investigated this. It is not only a limitation in SAP GUI, but also the server itself is not able to handle such a long command string. Which server release are you on?

I think you will need to watch for the arrival of the file delivered via the FTP, rather than try to act on the FTP commands themselves (as they will be handled by the FTP server software)... for example, if you were to FTP into a subdirectory called "inbox" and then have a cron job or an ABAP program that runs every X minutes to see if the directory contents have changed, you could have an event triggered back job fire up automatically (i.e. using SAPEVT from the operating system, or FM BP_EVENT_RAISE in APAP... see links:

there are multiple ways how to start Firefox in private browsing mode. If you want to use a shortcut parameter, follow the instructions below:
# Create firefox shortcut;
# Right-click on the shortcut, choose properties;
# Edit location (not name), file path and file name followed by the command line argument "-private", e.g.: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -prvate;
# Save changes.
When you double click the modified shortcut you have just created, Firefox will start in private browsing window.

I need to attach SAP shortcut to an external mail ID. The contents of the attachment i am generating it at runtime using FM SWN_CREATE_SHORTCUT using an activity Step.
Kindly let me know, in which element of the step "Send mail" i have to attach the contents generated.

I am not really sure whether you can put the attachment in the mail step. However, I would suggest you to try these following steps:
1. Copy over program RSWNSENDMAIL1 and do any necessary changes in that Z program.
2. Create an activity step at the correct step of your workflow definition using wizard "Include Execute Job/Report". You will have to key in your Z program name in one of the step of the wizard.
3. Make sure the bindings are correctly done from your workflow container (like SAP logon ID, user name, etc) to the Z program parameters.
I have used Z program which I copied over from RSWNSENDMAIL1 to send an email with attachment and SAP short cut in one of my project. I think it should also work in workflow.

U can continue in the same line itself by pressing SHIFT+F8
If u want it in the next line then u can give space in the tag column.

When I received a "workflow msg" in my outlook inbox, I clicked on the attached shortcut.
And a logon pop-up comes to me, in order that I logon to SAP in the SAPGui mode.
It enables me to make a decision in SAP.
I'd like that when the user receive the shortcut ( or a link ), it opens the webgui mode ?
How can I do that ?

Disabling Command box in SAP R3 IView

I need to disable the command box in SAP R3 transaction IView. The basic requirement is to disable the user to goto any other transaction once in the R3 system. The user can also type in '/o' to open a new session while using wingui, we want to disable this ability.

Dynamic Parameters from SAP to C' Method

I hav a great Problem. I wrote a C# Program which runs as a Server. whithin this I wrote a Method i want to call from ABAP. This method needs to get two static and various dynamic parameters. In C# it is quite easy to implement this, by "params object[]...", but how can I get these Parameters from SAP to my Application?
When I describe the Parameter for RFC then it works, e.g. by "[RfcParameter("INSTID",RFCTYPE.RFCTYPE_STRING,30,30,0,RFCINOUT.IN)]". Does i have to give a certain RFCTYPE? When i do so, it works? Please give help, i need this very urgent.

Sorry, the answer remains NO.
In COM4ABAP, this feature is implemented only for the generic invoking function COM_INVOKE itself, but not for those functions/methods invoked through COM_INVOKE. So this functionality is perhaps "nice" to the developer who wrote COM4ABAP. But for the users of COM4ABAP, it seemed not to make much sense.
Of course, the support to dynamic parameters will be important if you want to write a generic method invoker for .NET (something might be called as DOTNET4ABAP). There is for now no plan to provide this feature in the future releases of the .NET Connector.

Command-Z keyboard menu shortcut is not working

Command-Z keyboard menu shortcut is not working in my profile i.e.,my login. But able to execute the same keyboard shortcut in other profile. ALl the other menu keyboard shortcuts are working fine. Have tried deleting Universal Access, HotKeys,Finder Preference plist,. from ~/Library/Preference/ folder. But of no use. This shortcut is not working for any of the app.

I'm assuming you're using forms on the web.
If so, you need to edit the fmrweb.res file that sits in your $ORACLE_HOME/forms directory.
This file will has all the keymappings for the function keys and you can customise them in there.
To stop Ctrl-K working you will need to comment out the line for Ctrl-K/Show keys by placing a hash (#) sign at the beginning of the line.
Further instructions can be found in the file.
Another tack to take would be to introduce a KEY-OTHERS trigger at form level that gives a message such as 'That key not used here, please...', you will then need to explicitly define triggers for all keys that should be used, for instance a KEY-NEXT-ITEM trigger that contains the code 'NEXT_ITEM;'

Command Parameters Not Prompted

I've been trying for some time to resolve this issue but can't quite seem to narrow down what is causing the problem. The issue is as follows: Say I have a report with both command parameters and dynamic parameters. When running the report in CR 11 I am usually prompted twice, once for the command parameters and a second time for the dynamic parameters, in two separate windows (empty fields for the command parameters usually show up a second time on the dynamic prompt window). When I run the report in the viewer I am never prompted for the command parameters. Only the dynamic parameter prompt window appears with no parameters values, most likely because they depend on the command parameters. The strange thing is when I have only a command parameter I am prompted for it, the issue arises when both command and dynamic parameters are implemented. I am running CR for Eclipse 2.0 (fairly sure since I have the more recent excel export options). Any help with this issue would be very much appreciated.

I think this may have something to do with a conflict between the date command parameters I use in my report and my dynamic parameters. When I run the report in CR 2011 I am prompted for the date parameters twice, once in the initial command parameters window and again in the field parameters window containing the dynamic parameters. Has anyone else seen this double prompt issue and could it be the root of my viewer problem?

I did the changes as per your solution.(selected scope is where agent is deployed, not global)
I also restarted DAA/SMD agent. But still error remains same for me. please suggest.
