Attach SAP shortcut

Hi All,
I need to attach SAP shortcut to an external mail ID. The contents of the attachment i am generating it at runtime using FM SWN_CREATE_SHORTCUT using an activity Step.
Kindly let me know, in which element of the step "Send mail" i have to attach the contents generated.
Also, let me know how to deal with element attachobject ?

Hi,
I am not really sure whether you can put the attachment in the mail step. However, I would suggest you to try these following steps:
1. Copy over program RSWNSENDMAIL1 and do any necessary changes in that Z program.
2. Create an activity step at the correct step of your workflow definition using wizard "Include Execute Job/Report". You will have to key in your Z program name in one of the step of the wizard.
3. Make sure the bindings are correctly done from your workflow container (like SAP logon ID, user name, etc) to the Z program parameters.
I have used Z program which I copied over from RSWNSENDMAIL1 to send an email with attachment and SAP short cut in one of my project. I think it should also work in workflow.

And a logon pop-up comes to me, in order that I logon to SAP in the SAPGui mode.
It enables me to make a decision in SAP.
I'd like that when the user receive the shortcut ( or a link ), it opens the webgui mode ?
How can I do that ?

Hi All ,
I have one requirement in which we need to open default mail application from SAP then create a new memo in it and attach the shortcut of one transaction in that new memo.
Can anybody please help me in the same ?

One further question, if I may: in Panther (which is where I've aggregated nearly 7 years of mail), if you copy more than one file in the Finder, switch to Mail, and paste the files into a new message, only the file names paste in. If you copy one file and paste it into a Mail message, you get the file, not just the name. Is that still true, or has that (IMHO) bug been fixed since 10.3.9?

Sap ITS 6.20 and SAP Shortcut

I need some information about sap shortcut and ITS 6.20 with pas, when
I call sap shortcut over its 6.20 and use pas, what port use the
aplication?, the its port(80) or de sapgui port (3200) or (3600)in case
of load balancing,the second question is, i need to know how the pas
and the shortcut working at the net ports level,my problem is, security
departament only open the http port for this type of comunication and
one more think, do you have some documentation about sap shortcut and
its 6.20 with pass, on the marketplace I didnt find any documentation
about configuration of this scenario,

It is possible to have the ITS instance and the ADM instance on the same server. BUT you should create two Virtual Web Instances as well, one for each instance. During the installation you will then select a different Web Instance for each of the installs. After installation you should be able to logon to both ITS installs using a unique URL.

Command parameters in sap shortcut

we want to launch a transaction within SAP GUI from the Enterprise Portal. The transaction requires a lot of input parameters (the length of those parameters can reach up to 1000 characters). Unfortunately we found that using generated shortcut files as well as the transaction launcher iview we could not transfer more than 200 characters. All additional chars are simply ignored.
Does anyone know of a possibility of launching the SAP GUI and transfering more than 200 characters (i.e. completely filling a dynpro containing several input fields).

we've investigated this. It is not only a limitation in SAP GUI, but also the server itself is not able to handle such a long command string. Which server release are you on?

Yes you can. Just make sure you have iMesages on. You will need to go into Settings>Messages and turn it on and log in to their Apple IDs. I was having some activation issues when I first got my iPhone 4S [it was the carrier's fault, not the iPhone's] and I was using iMessages with my Apple ID to text my friends who had iPhones. I of course had to be connected to Wi-Fi for it to work. Hope that helps.
You could also have them download a texting app and they could use that on Wi-Fi. There are many free ones out there. I personally enjoy Text Now. Gives you your own phone number so others can text you too, not just iDevices.

Sending mail with attachment, SAP R3, Sunsolaris, Oracle 9i

I have a HR requirement in which i need to send the Appraisal Form via mail to the corresponding supervisor.
The form is basically a script.When i run a report this form should be converted to pdf file(format) and the mail should be sent to the supervisor with the pdf file as the attachment.

DIR not visible from attached sap object and validation check problem

Hi Experts,
I have created new sap object link for table BUT000 and transaction code is BP.
Now
1) when I am creating DIR through CV01N, I am able to view Object link column with one filed called PARTNER.
If I enter wrong or Invalid partner here, system is not performing any validation, it accepts it and if I save DIR it gets saved with invalid business partner.
2) secondly lets say i have entered valid business partner and saved the DIR, then in transaction code BP, I am not able to view any DIR for that business partner.
Need your valuable Input on this.

While adding the screen I had copy pasted logic from screen 1204 as per guidelines to add the screen.
One more thing added in guide line was, 'Please do not make any changes in it'.
I think this is the system check which is already there when we copy paste logic from 1204 but due to some reason it has got problem.
For the 2nd screen also I have given the same logic which is in 1204 screen of CV130.
But here the problem is when I double click on any Module or any perform it asks me to create.
That means this module and performs does not exist in function group CV140, they all exist in function group CV130.
I try creating the same modules in CV140 also but there are many variables, internal tables which does not exist in CV140.
Any help on this will be appreciated.

Problem with shortcut attachment in email

I have 2 problems using the program RSWUWFML2.
Iu2019m using RSWUWFML2 program with the following data as input data and scheduled it to run every minute in background to send email for the work items.

Problem1:
This is a PR approval scenario. Whenever a PR is released at a particular level, the next level approver will be intimated via email to release from his side. The email contains the attachment u201CExecute Work Item.SAPu201D. When I click the attachment I get the following messages before getting the logon dialog box.
Screen 1:
Not all data for SAP GUI shortcut is available.
System description and GUI start parameter are unknown.
Enter the missing data.
After giving OK.
Screen 2:

When I select the system description manually as my development system and given OK, then the logon dialog box comes as expected.
Problem2:
The program RSWUWFML2 which is scheduled to run at background every minute sends the same email every one minute to outlook.
But when I run the program manually, it sends the email only once. And when I execute it again immediately after receiving the email, it says u201C0 work items were read. None were sentu201D .
Please help me on what to do to get the logon dialog box once the shortcut is double clicked from email.

Problem 1)
In a previous question about this in SDN, someone (sorry, can't remember who) answered:
"Have you or the user logged into the SAP GUI before? If not, have them login in. Our problems occured
with new users that never logged into the SAP gui and so the user profile was never loaded with the ini
file."
Please try that.
Problem 2)
Are you sure it's running with the same variant in the background?
What if you try every 5 minutes instead - maybe a minute is too short and it gets mixed up.
You could also try copying RSWUWFML2 to ZRSWUWFML2, inserting an infinite loop and then attaching to it in order to debug it in the background.

SAP GUI 7.30 Shortcuts

We have an interesting issue, we are starting to migrate from SAP GUI 7.20 patch 4 to the latest SAP GUI 7.30 patch 8. One of the issues we have ran into was in creating shortcuts in the latest version of the GUI, with 7.20 you would go to shortcuts | right click and choose add entry, which would bring up the create new SAP shortcut...you would enter a title | choose transaction | then enter the transaction in our case al11, we would then enter the system ID and it would populate the system descriptions. This issue is the new GUI does NOT pick up the system descriptions and you have to add it manually has any one encountered this with the GUI 7.30?

It works fine if I specifiy parameters up to P_FELD4/P_VALUE4 . The corresponding parameter transaction definitely has all the parameters specified above in the 'Command-line'.
When I switch to debug mode all the following parameters from p_feld5 on are initial.
Does anybody know whether there is an restriction in terms of length or number of parameters?

sorry, I saw it too late that you posted the SAPGUI information.
As you have parts like "P_FELD2=IDOCNUMBER" in your parameter string, I guess this is for a generated link file and the parts like IDOCNUMBER are replaced by distinct values. Make sure that in this replacement process everything runs correctly. I have no idea ho the system respond if you pass invalid values and I do not know if the replacement process inadvertently cuts the file.
Try tith one parameter first, then add parameters one by one. The moment it does not work, check the file, try with different value.

Shortcut link of WF inbox in Users mail description

Hi experts,
I have a requirement to put a shortcut of workflow in-box(PPMDT or SBWP) of user who gets an e-mail notification to handle the workflow.
Is it possible to attach a shortcut with the content of e-mail notification, where user will double click and will reach to the SAP in-box.
Can anyone help me for the same?

If your system is on one of the more recent releases you can also (in fact you should, according to SAP recommendations) use the solution for extended notifications, which you will find several threads about here.

If you want to send such a short-cut with a mail that is not generated by any of the work item notification solutions you need to develop your own solution. I have done something similar once a few years ago, by modifying the RSWUWFML2 program so I could pass a work item ID as parameter. Not a whole lot of work, but of course it is still a modification.

Remove Workitem Attachment from Outlook Inbox

Hi, Workflowers,
I would like to know, if possible can I remove 2 of the attachments. I think normally you have 3 attachments in the user's outlook inbox: for going to the SAP inbox, for displaying the work item, and for executing the work item. I would like to remove the attachment for displaying the work item and the one for the SAP inbox.
Is it possible to also customise the Missed Deadline mail subject so that it doesn't have the 'Missed Deadline...' part?

The text I am talking about is not the text in the Description tab of the PFTC transaction. I am fine with that. What I am concerned about is the standard text that appears in the outlook e-mail after the Description as follows:
"Open the SAP shortcut attachment in order to process the work item.
If you have any problems logging on, contact your system administrator."
And the message subject saying for example "Missed Deadline:...."
I know that when you run the report RSWUWFML2 under the block "Standard Text for Notification", there is a message class for the mail Subject "SWU_NOTIF" Message Number 2, which has &1: &2 in transaction SE91. How can I determine the text in these variables during runtime (In fact, I would like to Hard-code this text)
After I select "Collective Message" in the "Send granularity" block I have removed SWU_NOTIF_PROLOG1 for "Before Work Item Description" so that the standard text:
"Your Workflow inbox in the SAP system DEV, client 100, contains the following work item:"
does not appear in the outlook mail since I don't need it.
But I have not removed the SWU_NOTIF_EPILOG1. I would like to know how I can edit the text:
"Open the SAP shortcut attachment in order to process the work item.
If you have any problems logging on, contact your system administrator."
which I believe is the one involved with SWU_NOTIF_EPILOG1.
